Excellent hotel, comfortable rooms. Not too far to the "mini-metro" which is a handy way of getting to and from the station. I'd not recommend trying to go to the historic center on foot from the hotel. WiFi not available for free.

The hotel is very nice. We stayed in Wine area, the oldest one. The room was nice and spacious. The most I have appreciated is breakfast, very large selection of croissant and a lot of food. They also have food gluten free and lactose free and also soya "cappuccino"! We have dinner in the restaurant and we ate very well with a good price.

A 10 minute uphill walk to city centre. Minimetro is a very good low cost way of getting into town. Also find location of Cupa escalator. Room excellent and good value.

A bit far away from Perugia center (which is up the hill) if you have no car. From the room, we had a view on the gas station which is just in front of the hotel !! We stayed 4 nights there ; the hotel is OK. Very nice swimming pool on the roof ; ideal in summer. People at the reception desk are extremely kind. All in all, It was a good place.

Hotel Giò is a really nice, new and very spacious hotel. Getting to the front door though isn't as easy as ABC. The main entrance they have is hid behind a fuelling station so it is a bit tricky for a first timer to that area of Perugia. The hotel is situated within 1 km from the train station. However, if you are visiting Perugia you would want to go up with the "Mini Metro" to the centre of the city with the pedestrian area close by the university. It's a beautiful area up there with lots of things to see. Back to the hotel, the view from the rooms is just amazing, it's very quiet and peaceful. The rooms are very very spacious by European standards, very clean all the way, with a touch of class. Next to the hotel there's a mini mall with a few shops, coffee places and a supermarket. Plenty of parking around the hotel so that's not a problem. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very good hotel and staying. Swimming pool on top of second building. The hotel room was very spacious, with good wooden furniture. Nice relationship between price/quality! Not in center, but within walking distance..

A wonderful hotel. Very warm welcome. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice. The restaurant was superb. We ate there every evening and for a couple who like to try different places, that was a real compliment. Excellent value for money. Only downside is, it is quite a long walk to the centre of Perugia. Thoroughly recommend this hotel. We will stay again soon.

Nice large and clean rooms, front of house staff very helpful and friendly and free internet access. The hotel is quite a walk from 'il centro' and all up hill. The price of the hotel is a little expensive as, lets face it, perugia is not venice/florence/rome and should, i would have thought, offered better value for money. The breakfast was particularly good, except for our final morning when the waitress was alone and instead of working harder to cover for missing staff, walked around complaining of the fact. Every single table had dirty crockery and cutlery and many of the food stuffs needed replentishing.

The hotel staff was great but the hotel is old and everything in the room and bathroom is old and antiquated and needs refurbishing. The location was good and easy to get to the old town of Perugia if you are driving but not really convenient for walking. Probably will stay at one of the hotels up in the old town rather than at this one next time ( however if they updated the Gio, then it might be worthwhile especially because of the parking facilities).

The room was clean and honest, even if I don't understand, from a room standpoint, where the four stars comes from. The breakfast was poor in quality and quantity and the personnell unpolite.

The staff were extremely competent and welcoming, and the room was of very high quality. The hotel is close to the historic centre of Perugia, but the route there is fairly steep. Overall, we were very impressed.

Very original hotel, spacious rooms and bathrooms, very good breakfast, parking. Definitely to recommend. A little hard to find because the little road to get there from the main avenue can be seen only at the last moment, and has left-hand driving (!!) instead of right-hand; so if you miss the entry, you have to redo a circle around the block. Some extra signs would help. But once you've understood the right way, it's quick to go.

My only criticism was that I arrived at about 10.00pm, after a much delayed train journey. I asked whether it would be possible to have something to eat (even a sandwich would have sufficed) but was told the kitchen was closed. Yet, when I accidentaly ended up in the restaurant, I saw that several tables were occupied and waiters were still serving food (only to those already there). I found it extremely inconvenient that after a long journey I had to leave the hotel at such a late hour and go out to get some food.

Very interesting hotel. Just as said in the homepage, they are next to shop that got a lots of wine and foods! Too bad that shop got a bit shabby interior. Hotel room was an excellent! Very spacious and clean!! We were lucky to have that room for Summer Special price! Must check both of the bus stops. Since the street is oneway, when you are coming back from centre city, you will miss the bus stop for the hotel. We did miss it and had to walk all the way from the train station. Perugia is a small but up in the hill city. and our hotel was a down the hill but took wrong street and had an adventure. : ) it was fun. Since the supermarket is attached to this hotel, whatever you need, you just go down to the shop. It was nice. Learn to take bus and you are set!

Our room was enormous, the breakfast was impressive, our bathroom was huge, and the staff was outstanding. They really went out of their way to help us with our local plans. The location, however, is not great if you don't have a car. The hotel is difficult to find, it's not walking distance from the train station, and the neighborhood is completely charmless. Walking from the hotel into the historic center of Perugia is a 30 minute climb up an extremely steep mountainside. There is, however, a local bus that makes the climb, and you can buy bus tickets from the front desk. So, although it's not particularly convenient, the hotel is a wonderful oasis. I would recommend staying here, with a car!

I thought that erverything was excellent except for the area surrounding the hotel. It was dirty and full of rubble and litter. I also feel that directions to the hotel should be explicitly illustrated on the website.

Very comfortable, clean and spacious room with tv and mini-bar. The continental breakfast was excellent with a big selection . Had difficulty finding hotel as it is hidden behind the wine/shop supermarket which belongs to the hotel, at the address given on the web site. I showed my reservation to the bar at the wine shop but they knew nothing about it and were no help. At this point I was thinking I would have to find another hotel. I then asked at the supermarket and was taken through the shop to the hotel. I would recommend staying at this hotel if you can find it! Maybe there should be better location details on the web site and also train their shop staff in customer relations.
