About Hotel De la Loge

exterior Hotel De la Loge exterior Parking Arago : This is the parking that you will first see when you come into the city center. It is an underground parking, open 24h/day . Advantages of Arago are it's easy access and exit. If you are visiting Perpignan for only a day or two, this is the best choice. Rates for Arago and République parkings are the same : 50 F /per 24 hours period with a possibility to have special deals for four days and more bringing the fee down to approx. 35 F per day. Maximum height for vehicles is 2.10 meters.

Parking Republique : The closest to the hotel. It is a little more difficult to reach and to exit. It is a four storeys building and rarely full. Open 24 hours /day, very convenient if you are shopping down town or if you want to put your car close to the hotel. Maximum height for vehicles is 2.10 meters.

Excelsior garage : This is a garage. You leave your vehicles with the keys. You can leave some of your luggage in the car. It closes in the evening at around 20.00 (8 .00 pm.) and opens at 7.00 am. It is closed on Sundays but for an hour around 10.00 am. Convenient for vehicles over the 2.10 meters limit also if you need garage services like car wash, oil change, etc.....

Closest to the hotel : This route is to come with your vehicle very close to the hotel entrance. It is a bit more complicated than the parking solution because the streets are narrow and sometimes you have to wait for another vehicle to go through. If you really have very heavy luggage that cannot roll or if you like to drive in medieval streets. You can stop for a few minutes but will have to go to the parking afterwards.

Location highly central as expected. Spotlessly clean. In need of some refurbishment but exactly what was expected. A spell at charm school for the owner would not go amiss - he was gruff and disctinctly unwelcoming - I think in the main because he had mis-read the booing and had to reallocate our room.

Good service less the welcoming and the mood of the owner

The hotel is rather old styled, but would need some refreshing. At the moment heavy works are in progress nearby, so ask for a backyard room. Breakfast is sad as is the whole hotel. But the price is reasonnable and the situation is perfect.

The map details are not sufficient, on arrival at the hotel we were dropped at the front of the hotel which does not have an entrance. Also the building next door (which looks as if it is the same building) has been partly burnt down and held up with scaffolding. This happened in October. The entrance to the hotel was at the back via a couple of side streets and is not obvious. The hotel itself was fine, good value for money and sheets/towels very clean. The photos do not actually do the hotel justice. Also many reviews which refer to the "gumpy man" on reception we feel are perhaps a little harsh and he is actually "Mr Misunderstood". We were the only people staying in the hotel and he was most obliging when we requested to check out in the late evening rather than mid-day. His manner may be a little abrupt and could be taken the wrong way. Note taxi to the hotel should cost 20-25 Euro, 10-15 minute journey.

The rates and rooms were precisely as promised. The owner spoke excellent English, and was friendly, polite, and helpful. I recommend the Hotel de la Loge as an excellent value. It's in a quite corner of Perpignan, but merely steps from the city center (Cathedral, banking and shopping, medieval city gate, etc.)

Whilst the location of the hotel was excellent it was like going into a 1970's time warp. The hotel is incredibly dated in both rooms and public areas. It was reasonably priced but I would happily have paid more for a hotel which had been renovated (sometime in the past 20 years!) The old chap who was always at reception smoked and ate at the desk without a thought and was rather off hand in his manner.

Dealt with efficiently on arrival and leaving. Plug in sink in bathroom didn't work, a fact I reported in 2006 when I stayed in the same room! Also, there were two holes in the handtowel on Friday when I arrived. Not ahppy about being 'locked in' overnight as I had to get the manager out of bed at 0600 to let me out as I had a train to catch. The manager however, was friendly and welcoming desite my late arrival and early departure.

The street outside was dark and filthy, but the hotel itself was only half a block away from the Place de la Loge, a very central area. The room was large and clean, though very dated. The air conditioning did not work. Other than that, we were satisfied with the overall quality at the price we paid.

Hotel de la Loge was in a great location within Perpignan, although just a bit too far from the SNCF station to walk. The old man at the front desk was nowhere near as grumpy as indicated by the Lonely Planet guide--he even called us a cab. The room was a bit tight, but nice and quiet with views of an courtyard; the bidet could have REALLY used a cleaning! Would recommend the place, especially for its value.

Hotel De' la loge is a budget hotel right in the centre of Perpignan. The rooms are clean but having stayed there a couple of times they vary greatly in size. Don't expect a view as it is situated down one ofthe narrow streets in the centre of Perpignan! Overall if you want a clean room with a good location and budget price I can recommend it. Luxury it is not!

We (my boyfriend and I) only stayed for one night at this hotel, which better should be given the cathegory "hostel". We had been looking for a suitable parking space about one hour (!!!), the receptionists didn´t offer much help in recommending where to leave the car! This hostel is located in a very beautiful part of the city, everything is near, so that you can walk and explore the city by foot. Actually this was the problem: It wasn´t mentioned clearly on the web page, that the street of the hostel and sourroundings are forbidden for cars! The receptionist is and old man who seems to be disturbed by every question you ask him and only smiles when you finally pay the room. We were shoked by the first room we were given: very small, very old and without any oxygen. Fortunately, there was no problem to change the room and the second one, was bigger, cleaner and a little more comfortable. The fotos published on the website do not fit very well with reality! Every room seems to be diffenrent (even in quality) but they have the same price. The room exposed on the website...it must be the luxury suite of the hostel; we never saw it! It is also important to know that reception closes exactly at 0:00 o'clock, don't be late!

Excellent location in "old" part of town,. Excellent value for money and spacious quiet rooms. Owner/receptionist not the most welcoming and staying out after midnight most definitely frowned upon. Good for the weekend to see Super League (Leeds Rhinos)

Having read various comments on the web, I was expecting something better. The hotel was dingy and in parts in severe need of repair. However, it was well located, the sheets and washing facilities were clean, and it was cheap!

A little bit rough around the edges with the hotel needing a good clean-up. Excellent location in the heart of Perpignan. Good value.

the hotel is located in the center of the town, the furnitures of the room are from the 80's but it was clean, and for the price, it was quite ok. The reception was quite bad, i arrived at 22h00, not a hello, not a smile, i felt i was annoying them (they were watching a moovie). same impression when i left.

Really liked this hotel. It couldn't be more central with plenty of parking nearby. Some found that the manager could be a little surly but trying a bit of French before he dropped into good English seemed to placate him! The rest of the staff were excellent. Breakfast was fine, the rooms were large and air conditioned. The decor is certainly dated but it gives the place a nice quaint, homely quality and everywhere was spotless. As with most independent French hotels it represented really good value.

I have given this hotel a general rating of excellent because it was such good value for money. A large triple room cost us 64 euros. The hotel is a little old-fashioned but it is clean and comfortable and in a great location.

The desk manager, a chubby and exceptionally rude french man, allocated a room with a bathroom instead of the cheaper showerroom option as we have booked, upon our arrival. When we went up to the rooms, we assumed that we have been upgraded as they have run-out of the cheaper 'showerrooms'. 2 hours later, the reception phoned us accusing us of taking a room that we have not booked! What cheek. We said we would be happy to change there and then, but they wouldn't accept it and tried to charge us for the difference in amounts. So, if you do book into this hotel, which I do not recommend, then do watch out for this little scam of theirs to get more money out of you. The desk manager is also exceptionally rude and coarse; don't bother asking him for any tourist info or advice as he would say ' go to tourist info'/ 'I am not the tourist info' !!!!

Dirtiest and ugliest hotel we have ever stayed in. Old, stained, smelly and dirty furniture, bathroom old, no satelite tv to watch international news, only frech tv channels. Not worth the money, any money!!!

Used to sleep in nasty hotels of zero stars, De la Loge was perfect. Cheap, clean and just in the center of the city. And I mean In the Center.

For value for money you can't beat the Hotel de la Loge. The owner and his staff are very accommodating and the location is superb. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and I enjoyed my nine nights there immensely.

A most genial host, beautiful foyer ambiance, comfortable rooms with a welcoming friendly and helpful staff. Excellent central location suited us, though might not suit everyone on weekends or the celebrated "Perpignan Thursdays". Good value for money all round.

I was releaved that the owner could speak English as a last minute change of travel plans was needed (we missed our flight!). The owner was curteous about the late news of our delayed (1 day) arrival and kindly did not charge during our non attendance. The owner, may not seem polite at all times, but is kind in my view and always happy to help when help is needed. The location is excellent for leisurely strolls around the town and ambles to a local Brasserie. The hotel is well worth a visit.
