Excellent location for taking the hike up to ancient Thera. Property manager is a former sea captain, and his gruff but endearing manner was charming. He graciously allowed us to stay in our room past check-out time (admittedly, it was end of season) until we needed to leave Perissa to catch our ferry. He was very informative about the island. The hotel is not directly on the beach, but it is a short direct walk to the beach. Breakfast was adequate (a little for spartan for my American tastes, but perfectly adequate for my husband's German tastes). Free wireless internet, and even a computer for guest use in the lobby. Upstairs outside common area with seating was very pleasant with an unusual view. Our room balcony was nice, too, but no view to speak of (except for the street).

This hotel was much better than we expected. The owner was very helpful and kind to provide all the information we needed. The hotel is located quite area yet the beach is within walking distance. I would say this is the best spot to enjoy Santorini island because you can enjoy spectacular views of light house area and world famous beautiful sunset without going all the way to crowded city of Oia. We paid only 78 Euro for three with simple breakfast which made us happy. I am sure anybody loves this hotel to stay.

If you want to stay in Perissa, Irigenia is a great choice. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast is decent and free internet access is a bonus. The room we had was very spacious and clean. If we return to Santorini, however, we would find a hotel in Oia or Fira.

It's a dream hotel !

The hotel was very nice, not far from sea (10 min by foot, lots of moped/ATV rentals everywhere). Room was nice and clean, but sewage definitely needs maintenance. Free Internet available in the lobby. Breakfast could be more various. Staff is very friendly and the hotel gives the impression of family business where people really care of what they do.

This hotel vastly exceeded my expectations: the rooms are spacious, attractively decorated and absolutely spotless; they have amenities like an ironing board, personal washline outside and a mini-fridge. The hotel is only 200m from the beach and yet it is amazingly quiet and one can get a good night's sleep. The owner, Antonio, proved to be an absolute life-saver as my wallet was stolen on the metro in Piraeus and I had my father ask him to collect me at the port as I had absolutely no money whatsoever. Not only did he do this, but he was incredibly helpful to me for the rest of my stay and goes out of his way to ensure that his guests every need is met. The bus and all car rentals are close to the hotel, so I would highly recommend that people save their money and stay here rather than in the hotspots.

This hotel is in a developing Perissa neigborhood, and as such the location is also developing. Not even the taxi driver knew where it was. Short walk to beach is not a lighted pathway. Finding this location can be confusing at night. Room door makes annoying sounds on windy nights. Hotel doesn't offer pick-up from port; and most taxis are hard to find and/or may rip you off, so getting there is a big problem.

It is a nice quiet family hotel located a bit far from the busy town, Fira. It is easy to find supermarkets, bus stop, information centers, restaurants nearby. A little far and difficult to reach from airport. very close to the black beach, suitable for the couples or family to spend time on the beach. However, it is not very convenient for the travellers, who are more interested in volcano, cliffs, white houses and narrow streets. You'd better drive yourself if you live here. The running water in the hotel is a bit salty. Simple breakfast, but still OK.

The hotel is very beautiful but it doesn't stand out from the others of lower stars. It has no pool, no yard, no garden, no place to stay outside the hotel like almost all the other hotels in perissa. It has no view to the sea, but to a small mountain and to a 10 year old unfinished building. To get to the beach you take a path between other buildings. The breakfast was amazing because it consisted of one egg, 2 pieces of butter,2 slices of bread, honey, a horrible coffee that seemed to have been made for days and tasted horrible and a glass of some sort of yellow juice that was so sweet that no one could finish it. On the last day the bread was heated in the oven because it was old and as it got colder it stiffened. Over all the room was amazingly beautiful and quiet and the building inside is very white and clean and elegant. This is the reason we decided to stay after all at irigeneia. But keep in mind, it is not a 4 star hotel. And prices in may when we arrived there were somewhere between 20-30 euros in hotels with pool, view to the see and so on and we payed 56.

We had room 26 (the suite). It was as beautiful as it was massive. A large private deck that you could watch the sun rise over the ocean on one side, and watch it set over the mountains on the other side. Family run hotel where everyone is fluent in English, very friendly, and helpful. Great restraunts nearby, and close to beautiful beaches. Alot easier to get around in Perissa Beach then Fira or Oia. Highly recommend the hotel for anyone.

I can't not say enough how much I enjoyed my stay at Irigeneia. The hotel is beautiful and within 2 minutes walk down a little path to the black sand beach of Perissa. My room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and perfect. Antony and his son Michael who run the hotel are incredibly hospitable, peaceful and friendly. It is like you are staying with distant members of your family. Fantastic.

We spent our last two days of our trip in Santorini.. and we booked a double room in Irigeneia.. it was soo beautiful.. and very close to the black sanded beaches.. also very close to the bus stop that takes you into the main city of Fira.. You have a beautiful room with the colors of the Agean Sea and of course we went to see the Santorini sunset in the main city of Fira.. and relaxed our nights in the beautiful hotel located in Perissa.. The owner, Anthony, was very nice to us.. we loved his hospitality.. they book a taxi for you to go back to the airport if needed.. and there is internet for your own private use.. and everyone is just soo helpful and nice.. I would highly recommend it.. and I will definately go back again.. and spend more than two days :)

Great place and very quiet by the Black beach. Was the best breakfast on our trip. I recomend renting a car to get to the hotel as it is a quiet get away from it all..

The hotel is in an area that isn't as crowded as Fira (the capital). There is still enough to see and do and it's very pretty. There is a bus stop only a couple minutes away and the beach is just beyond that. The buses run regularly and can take you into Fira and other towns for pretty cheap. Ancient Thira is close by although quite a hike up the hill. The hotel itself is very pretty and our room had a good size balcony out front. It was nice and quiet at night but then we were there in the off season. Staff was extremely helpful and informative. When our ferry back to Pireaus was delayed the gentleman at the desk periodically made phone calls for us to find out when it would arrive at the island. Very, very hospitable.

Excellent place to stay! 2 min walk to the beach, very helpful staff, room was massive, brand new, and with all the latest facilities available. Prices are excellent too. (The only hotel we had in Europe with an actual Queen/double bed) Would stay there again for sure.

I cant give an honest opinion about the rooms because of unfortunate circumstances we did not actually stay in a room at this hotel, but we were treated like guests just the same. Apprently the web site was not updated with the correct availability and the rooms were all booked out, yet we were still given a reservation. The staff handled this brilliantly. The owner of the hotel found us a nearby hotel room, and we were given all of the rest of the perks of staying at the hotel itself. The owners son, (I wish I had gotten their names, they were all wonderful) stayed awake and at the front desk until we arrived at 1 in the morning. He told us about what happened and showed us to our room at the nearby hotel. Every morning for breakfast we were greeted by the owners wife (Litsa i think is her name) and she gave us smiles and kisses on the cheeks. Morning conversation with the owner was enjoyable while he served us breakfast. I felt like I was at home with my family here. I hope others equally have an experience as enjoyable as ours. The hotel is very clean, very friendly, in a very good location. Even though things did not work out perfectly with the room, the staffs excellent service made up for it. Thank you for our stay!
