An excellent small hotel with a one Michelin star rated restaurant (which we did not know before). Very kind service at hotel and restaurant. The garden is great! We just stayed overnight on our way back from Italy to Germany. The way/street to the hotel is like climbing the Himalaya.... So it's not really a hotel next to the motorway (what we were actually looking for). It's in the middle of nowhere up on the hill, so we had to eat at the restaurant. Which was absolutely excellent - but doubled our budget for this stay... But if you are looking for excellent service and dinner in a quite, romantic location - go there! When our child is older we want to go there again...

This inn is wonderful, and I recommend it highly. The entire staff is friendly and dedicated to pleasing their customers. The property is lovely, with beautiful common areas and a pretty garden with a small stream running through it and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The manager speaks excellent English, as do some (but not all) of the rest of the staff. Regardless, everyone did their utmost to please us during our stay. We arrived mid-afternoon, when the kitchen was closed, having flown into Milan and driven up from there. The manager fixed us a terrific light lunch and brought it up to our room himself. The room was spacious and very nicely done - its only drawback was that there was no shower, just a tub with a handheld sprayer but no shower curtain to keep the water in. We loved our stay here, would definitely go back, and recommend it highly.

Sacchi the manager was extremely welcoming.The room we stayed in was excellent as were the surroundings, especially the communal areas such as the breakfast room & dinning room. The grounds were also extremely impressive. We would definately return again to La Laconda, maybe just for a long weekend as basically it was faultless. Although only a short drive from lake Como or lake Lugano it was a completely different world up in the mountains and would be a very romantic place to stay over a wintery weekend. Finally the food, wine & service provided by Adam in the Resturant was superb, definately worth reserving a table though as La Laconda is a bit of a drive from the 2 nearest villages, but also it gets fairly busy ( probably because the food & welcome is so good.
