Hotel Le Bourbon - Pau

Ideal location for visiting Pau attractions. Our room overlooked the main plaza with it's "dancing" fountains...very pleasant, indeed. We would recommend this hotel.

The toilet bowl was clean but the floor and skirting were grubby and smelly. After my wife cleaned around the floor with antiseptic wipes we were able to use it. Everything else was good.

The staff was very nice and welcoming. The room was clean, overlooking the Place Clemenceau. However, our night was miserable given that the air conditioning is apparently controlled in 1 room out of 4--meaning that our room was sweltering and we couldn't do anything about it; when we opened the windows, all the noise from the Place (yelling, skate-boarding, etc.) kept us up until past 3. The hotel was booked, so we couldn't change rooms. Friendly staff therefore couldn't do anything about the situation and offered no compensation at check-out.

Fabulous location.Staff excellent for such a small hotel. We will be back.

We used this hotel (and city) as a base while visiting Lourdes. Pau, and this hotel, were much less touristy than Lourdes (not to mention that Pau has much nicer restaurants) and only about 40 minutes away.

Very well located, excellent service, very nice breakfast, the rooms are not noisy inspite the large square. The bathroom is large in the double room, in sum a very good venue for a reasonable price. Only small problem with the elevator which does not go down to the entrance.

Good hotel. Just a note as to the hotel access by car. We could not access the hotel by car to unload our luggage as the access to the Place Clemenceau area is not possible. We had to park the car in the public underground carpark, then ferry our luggage to the hotel.

Excellent location to ensure you make the most of a short trip to Pau.

Hotel in Centre of Pau, close to restaurants and shopes, quite easy to reach and well known.

The hotel was as advertised on the web including location and pricing. The concierge was very friendly and helpful when we decided to cut our trip short by 2 days. Very few people in Pau spoke English which was difficult at times. The hotel was very clean with lots of hot water and a good hairdryer. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Our room overlooked the square which was lovely but unfortunately, for the final few days of our stay the square was being power washed from 7.30am until 6.00pm. The noise from the equipment was deafening. I would recommend the hotel to any visitor.

Nice, older hotel in downtown Pau. The hotel is near much of the shopping area downtown. Parking is issue as one must park in one of several underground parking garages. However, as parking goes, the price for parking is relatively inexpensive. We paid 10 euros for overnight. The hotel staff are extremely courteous and helpful.

Friendly well located Hotel run by a welcoming staff. I would recommend it as good value for money and would use it again

Pasamos tres dias encantadores en la ciudad y el Hotel fué una muy buena elección con habitaciones modernas, cuidadas y limpias. Está justo en el centro de Pau, casi todas las habitaciones dan hacia la plaza Clemencau la cual esta recién reformada. Por lo que las vistas hacia la plaza y el castillo son estupendas. No tiene parking pero bajo la plaza hay uno público costandonos entre las 19.00 y las 09.00 unos tres euros. El desayuno es recomendable, y la atención del personal del Hotel inmejorable. El único punto criticable es lo pequeño de la sala de desayuno. Volveremos.

Le Bourbon has been upgraded since our last visit. The room quality is now excellent. With Place Clemenceau renovations now completed, the outlook from the hotel is very buzzy and attractive. Its location, as ever is excellent. We were delighted to find Pascal, the manager, still in post and enjoyed many friendly chats with him.

Very unclean rooms, showers are very cold !

Very helpful reception clerk. Rooms very simple, no aricon, and our rooms windows was facing an air corridor, Location was great.

The hotel is within easy walking distance to sites and shopping. The staff were helpful and the rooms typical for a 2-star hotel. The plaza outside the hotel was under construction during my stay. Its conversion to public parking will likely detract.
