Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I arrived at 1245pm, and since the room was available, they allowed me to check in early. I was in room 11, which was pretty spacious. The bathroom was the largest of any 3 star hotel I've stayed at in Paris, and was very clean.

The hotel is right and good location. The rooms are small. Specifically in our room lacked bomblets in the lights. For people over the tub is very high. The cafeteria is very small but expres breakfast this role very well.

Probably the worst hotel experience I had in my life. I arrived late 9pm and I was essentially given the broken room. When a toilet isn't functoning in a "3 star" hotel, you know it's gonna be a long night. The sheets were filthy, the room is miniature--you can barely walk around the room--and there was no place to plug anything unless I unplugged the tv set. The people next door were screaming in Russian for hours. When I called downstairs with my complaints, the person at the desk said all he could do was "make a note of my complaint". Later that night, the elevator stopped working. And it wasn't working the next morning so I had to carry my bags down 5 flights of steps. When I told the receptionist about my complaints the next morning, she asked me to write a note to her manager, which I did. Then I told them that under the circumstances I shouldn't have to pay. She called her boss who told her to call the cops on me, which she told me she'd do. I reminded her she had my credit card on file and she could just charge it and I'd dispute the charges. Then I told her that her boss should be ashamed to treat customers this way. Not even an offer to discount the room price! Yes this hotel is well located, but really, BEWARE. It's unforgivably awful.

The Internet access is to expensive (to login in the romm). The wireless din not worked all the time. The staff was extremely, extremely nice. We were in the same hotel in 2009. It is practically in the centre of the town, close to restaurants and public transport. Direct connection with airport.

Not that good as a hotel in relation price vs quality. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. The room was poor there was leaks in the roof exactly on our luggage in the first day and not fixed until we left. The blackout curtains were for half window only in one window and one lump was not working and was never replaced. The elevator was broken for some hours in our floor. The breakfast did not worth the price 15 Euros. Overall the hotel needs to be renewed. The surroundings and the front desk are the higlights here. The hotel is near everything you want to see and near the Metro and ReR stations. I will find a better hotel next time. I stayed in the hotel for 6 nights.

I've been to Paris many times before and for the price, this was an excellent hotel for my week stay. Best feature was the location. It's walking distance to most key sights and metro. Facilities were above average but great bang for your buck. My only problem with the whole expereience was that internet was very expensive.

They charged me twice and refunded a day later. However, because the exchange rate on the date of the refund was stronger against the pound I was worse off by £18 pounds and the hotel refused to reimburse me for their mistake. The credit card company is also refusing to help as the Tonic Hotel used 2 different merchants to deduct and refund the amount. So, on top of the extremelly expensive rate for the quality of the room I still had to pay £18 due to a hotel admin error. Be aware and demand receipts as I was never given one.

very disappointed upon arrival we were told we had no booking and no rooms available. i had a print out of the booking and the lady was very rude and said it was my fault and i made a mistake i booked the wrong day which was incorrect. she then said you can have 2 separate room but 700 euro more. she finally made a call and did it for a cheaper rate. she did not apologize and was very rude. the area in front of the lift was being fixed and we had to carry two heavy suitcases up four flights of stairs. she offered no assistance and no explanation for not having use of the lift. the only good thing was the location. we did see the manager around and she did seem lovely and friendly however we dreaded seeing the lady behind reception.

The HOTEL TONIC DU LOUVRE was the low point of our three-week vacation. Apart from the location, which was fine, there was little to recommend this hotel. There was NO welcome, to speak of. The heavy-set woman on duty the morning of our arrival was far from cordial. Being too early for the designated check-in, we enquired as to where we could leave our luggage and were directed to a space behind the door leading to the stairs. A request for a bathroom was similarly monosyllabic. Our efforts to communicate in French did little to endear us. Thereafter all communication was in English, a language she clearly understood but used selectively. As for the facilities: The lift was very small, allowing only one person with luggage to use at any one time, and slow, when it worked at all. On several occasions, it was out of order, most inconveniently on our first and last days, which meant that we had to carry our weighty suitcases up and down two flights of stairs. A request for help from a porter was ignored meaning we had to manage ourselves. The room size was adequate but the amenities woefully substandard. There were stains on the carpet, there was no valance/bedskirt on the mattress base and no bedspread beyond the single uninteresting beige polar-fleece blanket. Only one pillow was provided; there were no additional ones in the one narrow wardrobe. The bathroom was tight, the bath-tub scratched and the soaps etc not replenished. The mini-bar was interesting - locked with a key, and no sign of the key anywhere, nor any effort made to locate it, despite our repeated requests. Understanding that we wanted to use it to keep things cold we were told we could "use the hotel fridge on the ground floor". That's what we paid 760 euros [for a triple, for three nights for]? Suffice to say, that WASN'T going to happen! I registered my annoyance, reiterated that I wanted access to the fridge and was advised that they would look for it. Subsequent reminders failed to yield a satisfact

The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to be near the Louvre and the center of the city (1st arr). We walked everywhere in the center and had easy access to the metro down the street. Our room was very pleasant with large bedroom area and nice bathroom. However, the internet did not work and when I inquired about the problem, the woman at the front desk was not helpful or nice (she also was our check-in person, and was not very pleasant then either)-- all of the other members of the staff were extremely nice however. The location is WONDERFUL, can't emphasize that enough.

One of the areas of the hotel needs total refurnishing, whereas the other is new and looks much better. The room we were given hadn't been painted or refurnished for ages and it was really depressing to look at. The location was excellent, though, as well as the service in the hotel itself.

Hotel is pretty old & a bit shabby, but I had expected that from previous comments so I felt I knew what I was getting. We had a triple room which was ample for us, and of a size and price normal for Paris (ie, small & expensive!). It was however, clean, with friendly staff and an excellent location - easily reached by public transport and walking distance to the Louvre & the Seine etc. Plenty of restaurants, cafes & a wonderful fruit stall nearby - don't bother with breakfast in the hotel. We would probably stay there again.

We got a room at the 7th floor and... elevator (a very very tiny one) stops at the 6th floor. We were 4 with a lot of heavy luggage : a nightmare! this was obviously not mentionned in the description of the hotel. In addition, the elevator was so tiny that our main luggage did not get in. In addition the bedroom was for 3 persons, a bed was added, so that we had no space for our luggage.

The elevator was out of service all time and my flat was a five floor. I had a problem in my leg and the hotel didn´t give any solution. There isn´t room for keep the luggage, the bath room of the comun areas is in a basement. This hotel isn´t prepared for handicapped person. In Spain, one hotel with the same characteristic hasn´t any stars.I considerer too expensive for the quality of it.The only good thing is the situation in the middle of the city, close to Louvre.

We had booked the hotel via Venere.com as it offered breakfast in the price and for a group of 10 people travelling with 5 boys, this was the bonus that had clinched the deal of booking with this hotel. Unfortunately when we arrived, the hotel receptionist told me that this was not included and that I was wrong! Her attitude and insistence that I was wrong when I know that this was included when I booked infuriated me, as there was no record of this on the information I had printed off we had to accept that this was not included. The positive about the hotel was that it was in a perfect location for seeing the sights of Paris, and getting something to eat, shopping etc. The hotel itself was in need of an overhaul i.e. new carpets needed and the bathroom floor tiles were cracked, the furniture needed some TLC (alot of scratches on the cupboards), however, the sheets and the bathroom were clean. The noise from the next door pub was too much for some of the party to cope with and they did not get much sleep during the stay. We enjoyed the sights of Paris, but I would not book with Venere.com again due to the inaccuracies of the information given on the web site.

Hotel marked down somewhat to reflect the fact that some renovation work was going on (stairwell storing bathtubs, etc.) and the receptionist/barman on duty on our first night, who was both surly and innumerate (giving us three glasses of wine in return for the four vouchers that we had been given when we checked-in).

We booked two rooms a triple and a twin. The rooms were lovely boutique style. We were delighted with them. The staff were really friendly, perhaps apart from the breakfast waiter who has some 'issues'. The location was simply excellent so close to the louvre, musee D'orsay, Sacre Couer, Marais, Latin Quarter. With comfy shoes, we covered much of Paris. Hotel Tonic should appeal to most clientele who want friendly, great location and clean rooms. I would recommend Hotel Tonic very highly. The only negative really was that it was difficult to find, the map could be clearer as we spent about an hour roaming around (we were so close) when finally we crashed into a small (very friendly) bar who advised us that we were just around the corner. Perhaps a better map and Customer Service lessons for the breakfast waiter!!

----------- Excellent location (300 m from the Louvre!). Confortable and clean room. The only flaw was the bathroom, with two different closets for the WC and the wash-basin and bath-tub/shower (with Jacuzzi). One of the employees at the reception was not very friendly. Breakfast was not included (12 €). It is possiblem howeverm to have breakfast in a number of places around the hotel. We had two rooms here, one in the main hotel and one next door in the new addition. The addition room was spacious with timbered ceiling and was quiet because it was 2 floors up. Elevator was small but not unexpected for Paris. The main hotel room was more cramped and was noisy from the street noise at night. There was a bar two doors down that had some rowdy customers. Both rooms had jacuzzi jets in a normal-sized tub, which was perfect for soaking in after running the Paris marathon! Overall, I would stay again because of the great location...two blocks from the Louvre and 10 minute walk to Notre Dame. Just ask for a room on floors 2 or 3 to avoid the noise!

On arrival, which was 10am, I was told to return at 2pm but could leave my luggage behind a staircase door where anybody could have had access. I was therefore forced to remove valuables and carry them around for 4 hours. When I checked in I was told breakfast was extra, which I do not believe was mentioed on the web site when I booked. When paying on checkout there was an increase on the price quoted despite not having any extras. This was a small amount which I paid as I was in a hurry to get to the airport.

I had a very short stay, only two nights. The hotel was a reasonable walk from the Les Halles train station, even with rolling luggage. The pay-for-play wireless high-speed internet access worked just fine. The room and bathroom was basic and comfortable enough for such a short stay, although the room was a bit on the small side. For the location and the price, it's a good value.

we were happy with our tonic stay---rooms were on ground floor--adjoining with our family which we appreciated---staff were polite and friendly and i don't think you could stay at a better location to enjoy paris---would definitely stay there again

This hotel is in a great location. The metro/RER entrance for Chatelet Les Halles is literally 100m down the road - although its tricky finding the correct exit from within the underground! This station gives access to both airports and to Paris Disneyland. The rooms are very small and basic! We stayed on three separate occassions during our trip as we used Paris as a base. We had trouble getting the correct bedding configurations for the family. However, they got it right on our third visit! The most disappointing feature of this hotel was the staff. With the exception of one person, they were unfriendly and is one case downright rude! Its amazing the impact this had on our "feel" for the hotel. Also, the walls were paper thin and the noise from the other rooms and outside made it difficult to get a full nights sleep. Location is the only thing going for this hotel !

The room that we stayed in was rather small. I had specifically mentioned that there were only 2 adults but was given an unwelcomed extra bed that made the already small room appear smaller. Nevertheless the staffs were polite, location was excellent and the jacuzzi styled bath made up for the shortcomings.

We were very impressed with the hotel and thought that it was good value for money and in a brilliant location. We specifically asked for a room with a spa bath which is well worth having... The bath was lovely, just don't put bubble bath in! We also had a small private terrace area with table and chairs which was nice as well. The room had air-con and a safe which you can programme yourself as opposed to getting a key and paying a deposit etc. The staff of the hotel were very helpful and the security was also excellent. Very good hotel for the money!! We would definitely stay there again. Another good thing was that on our departure day, they locked our luggage away in a room until we were ready to depart which saves you lugging bags round Paris if your flight/train home is not until the evening.

Perfect location, the relation between price (99 EUR for the double room) and quality was very good. Staff was friendly in general, but not too much, once they found out, we didn't want to take breakfast in the hotel, which is as overpriced as in every hotel in Paris. I also was not too pleased in having to leave the keycard(!) at the desk, every time, we left the hotel. Note that if you depart late in the day, thex don't have an extra room for your luggage, you just leave it on the fire escape staircase. Apart from this, quite a nice stay, and compared with previous experiences in other (higher rated) hotels definitely to recommend.

We were fortunate to book the quadruple room with 3 single beds and 1 double bed - perfect for our family of five. The kids loved it! Even the lady on duty when we checked-in who was not so helpful in providing directions to go to the tourist spots could'nt spoil it. Also, the people on duty when we checked-out where friendlier and very helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer. We also recommend that you go to the Japanese restaurant across the street (15 Rue du Roule), food and service were excellent. Good value for money.

Booked a double room for 3 nights-a month in advance. Was emailed directly by hotel to confirm the booking. On arrival we were told that no booking exists--had to show the desk staff the email correspondence on their computer! Apparently the hotel had been overbooked and could not accommodate us.Offered us alternative lodging in a nearby hotel. My partner wasn't very happy with this arrangement and made his feelings very clear.Returned an hour later to fetch our luggage-only to be told that they had found us a room after all!Stayed in room 406--beautiful wooden beams across ceiling, ample space and very nice bathroom. Would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone--just confirm booking well in advance!

Overall, I was very happy with our room. It worked out great with having 2 children. Basically, we got the top floor to ourselves, so it was very spacious and we didn't have to worry about noise too much. Unfortunately, we did find a cockroach on our luggage. Oh well - the location, price, and friendliness made up for it.

Very central location. Rooms are small but that is a typical "Paris disease" (like leaking sink; small elevators). Noisy street so keep windows closed at night; rooms have airco. Bubble bath was excellent; well appreciated by the children. Breakfast is EUR 10 per person; don't take it; go to nearby Boulangerie and enjoy 'pain au chocolat' with 'grand cafe creme' (EUR 10 for 3 persons). Be aware of expensive public parkings in Paris (EUR 20+ per day); you can park for free in certain streets near the hotel (even on Saturday).

We are a family of 4 and stayed in the family room. It faced the street and was quite loud most nights. Mostly from cars or a few stumbling home from the pub down the street. The room was adaquate and comparable to any eruropean hotel room, two double beds, a wardrobe, desk and chair. We had to life our suit cases over the bed in order to get them into the room. The room was clean and suited our needs. The staff at the desk where very helpful and spoke fluent English. We didn't eat breakfast there since there where plently of cafes within walking distance. Close to shopping, restaurants, the Louvre, and the train station.

Highly recomeded. The relationship price/quality is excelent. My room was equiped with jacusi as promised, rooms are not very espacious, as in the majority of French hotels but there are space enough to stay confortable. Room's decoration is tipical of France. The location of the hotel is perfect because you can reach most of the main points of interest by walk. I hope to return.

Our room was so little that we couldn't move easily in it. The bathroom and the bed were quite dirty when we arrived that we asked them to change the room. They changed our room only after a night spent in a hovel! The next room was a little better but very small and uncomfortable as the preavious. We asked for a better accomodation but they unpolitely said that for what we were paying our room was enough!...then we found out that they give nice rooms (with a different separated entrance too!) to who is paying the normal/full rate and the hovels to who is paiyng the web rate! I absolutely never come back to Tonic hotel in Paris or everywhere else!

This was a late booking to celebrate my Mum's 60th. I found the perfect hotel in the perfect location. The hotel was fantastic. Just what we needed. The room was big enough for the two of us. All the facilities in the room were excellent. The only thing I would suggest is tea/coffe making facilities in the room.

A just-okay place, I was disappointed with the fact that the little frigerator was barely working, and the room's whirlpool/spa wasn't working at all. When this was brought to the attention of staff, their response was kinda "oh well", that they knew that, that they were old systems and that the only person who knew how to work on it was the father of one of the owners and he was too old to work on them anymore. Ok, hmm. Then shouldn't there have been disclosure up front on that? And shouldn't there have been at least a discount offered on the price of the room as we were not getting the full value?
