I arrived at the hotel with my work colleague at 2200hrs only to be told by the male receptionist that due to a problem with all rooms on the first floor we and other guests were to switched to a sister hotel in Gard du Nord. The reason given for this was apparently there was no water on this floor due to a mechanical problem. A quick scan of the windows on the first floor showed movement and light, together with other tell tale signs soon indicated this was pure rubbish. The receptionist eventually owned up to the fact that citing water problems was always used when the hotel had over-booked and that most people believed the excuse. Much to our annoyance we were then put in a taxi to an area we didn't want to stay in. Let this be a warning to future customers as it would appear the hotel is quite happy to over-book in the hope that some customers simply fail to turn up. At the very least we should have been contacted if this was the case. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

We got a small, quiet, non smoking and clean corner room with a small window against the court yard. The room and bath room was minimal in size, but the bed was confortable. Since there was no AC, we had to keep the window open, and since the hotel allowed smoking in the court yard, we sufferd some by the smoke through the window. The surroundings were quit 'sexy', but the Metro was close and it was easy to go to the sights in different parts of the city. As allways, look up for imposters. Have you seen the 'gold ring' fraud?

hotel was well place for our requirements ie. access to trains and the stade france was easy. during dark hours the surrounding area was almost unrecognisable but the hotel was secure and again ideally placed within easy staggering distance of local bars and clubs.

Upside: There's a short walk to Sacré Coeur and Moulin Rouge from the hotel. Pretty cheap considering location. Downside: The stores and "clubs" surrounding the hotel can be pretty intimidating during the evening and late at night. There's no air conditioning nor a fridge in the room. The rooms are tiny, no more than a bed and a toilet.

Coming from out of the country, I was not aware that this hotel is located right in the middle of the red-light district. I was disappointed that the walls and doors were thin, and my "neighbors" kept very late hours. To be fair, I did not hear them once they were in their rooms. But I was awoken every night around 2:00 am when they would congregate in the halls right outside my room and their doors would slam behind them as they entered their rooms...

I advice this hotel,it's rather cheap for Paris, but the quality of the rooms is excellent. The hotel's surroundings,as many sex-shops don't disturb, because there is 1 minute of walk between an exit from the metro and the entrance to the hotel.I was satysfied with my room,I will surely return to this hotel.

Had a nice time in Paris - and in the Hotel! everything was O.K.! BUT ! - You should have breakfast in the coffee-shop on the Corner Across the street! It is much cheaper - better -and bigger than the Hotel! All in all we can recommend this Hotel and would come back for another time! P.S. The Area around the Hotel does NOT disturb at all !!!!!

I've been in Paris many times in the last months and stayed in many different hotels. Concerning its location (close to the Moulin Rouge and Sacre Coeur)the hotel is situed in a street replete of sexshop's. In the night its a little scary. The hotel has a big problem with the noise. The lock doors are extremelly noisy. If you want to sleep in the night it is not the best place to stay. The employees are not so friendly. I had to insist to obtain the note when i paid the bill.

My friend and I had a fabulous time in Paris and it was made even better because of the wonderful staff and great room at the Timhotel. The room was fantastic value for money, quiet, in a great location and surprisingly bigger than expected for Paris. Thanks to all the staff, we will be back and recommend to others!

This was a lovely hotel. It was right next to the train station station so in an excellent location, and although it was surrounded by sex shops, we were not hassled once in 8 days. The area is also safe to walk around and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes around it. The room was clean and neat, and although not hugely spacious, it was very good value for money in our opinion. The only thing of concern is the lack of air conditioning in the room, so if you stay in the summer be prepared for some warm nights. There were heaters so winter looks like it would be okay. In all all, highly recommended and we would stay again.

Very easy access to the hotel, it just at the exit of the metro station Pigalle (line no. 2 & 12)! 1. Internet acces at reception counter at rate EUR5 per 15min! 2. A supermarket at above 300m away from the hotel (pass the metro station direction)!

Once we arrived into our hotel the staff was really nice and professional and fluent in English. However we were increadibly disappointed w/ the condition of the room. The bathroom was not clean and smelled. The towels were cleaned however had a smell in them that it is really hard to get it over it. There was tiles missing and we couldn't open the window because the bed was right against it due to the increadible small room. We couldn't deal w/ it so we left and went to a different hotel called Welcome hotel, in a much better area w/ a clean room and smell free room for just 15 euros more. We were really disappointed because this really made a mark in our really short stay in Paris.

We had a GREAT stay!! we're a couple 25 and 27 yrs old from New Zealand and Norway. The hotel staff spoke great english and were very helpful. The service was also brilliant in ways such as calling our room the afetnoons we chose to stay in to ask if we needed anything- new towles, soap, sheets etc. Hotel breakfast is not included in the hotel price, but for an extra € 8,50 you get a really nice meal if ur up before 10:30 am. our room was facing the hotel backyard so it was very quiet, but i guess rooms facing the extremely busy mainstreet may be a bit more noisy. The location of the hotel is Brilliant. From the trainstation Grand de NORD its only a 15 min walk or a € 5-7 taxi ride. we usually walked around the streets of paris but jumped on a few buses when our feet started to blister. Metro connections are also very very good. the area around the hotel is busy and fun. "Redlight district" of Paris, the moulin rouge and lots of nice restaurants and cafès. All in all: Great quality for the price, absolutely a hotel to recommend! Good luck and hope you'll have a great time in Paris*

The area is the red light district, but on such a scale that it isn't seedy, and with the Moulin Rouge and Montmatre within 5minutes walking distance, there are always so many people around there is no feeling of intimidation or seedyness at all. It actually looks quite pretty at night. The hotel itself covers 6floors, we were on the 6th, so the lift was used most of the time! The room was perfectly fine for what we needed it for - sleeping and washing! Bathroom was a little damp, but not appaulingly so - we just didn't take much notice of it. The rooms were very hot, no fans or air-con, but it wasn't really a problem. To be honest we were only there from 11pm until 8.30am everyday, we didn't have the breakfast or spend anytime in the public areas. The water in the taps is not drinking water - this was irritating as any water we bought very soon warmed up with the heat of the room. Drink making facilities, a fridge and a fan would make the stay a little more comfortable, but didn't really affect our enjoyment. Staff were helpful, if a little hassled at times. I would reccommend this hotel, and would stay here again myself. We are students, so were not looking to pay much, and what we got was ample for the price. For anyone who want's to explore Paris, this is a good location to do so. We walked everywhere until struck down by blisters!

The view from the window of Sacre Coeur and the excellent location of the hotel, metres from the metro at the base of Montmatre, meant I will remember most aspects of my stay at TimHotel with fondness. One aspect that I wish we could have altered was the paper-thin walls and self-closing doors that did not have stoppers on them. The result was distrubed sleep caused by constant banging and noise throughout the night as other guests came and went and in the morning when the cleaners did their rounds. Another down-side was that the hotel was advertised as providing a breakfast inclusive within the price on the web-site, but this was not the case and the breakfast was 8 euro extra. This would not have been a problem if we had been provided with tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but we were not. Unfortunately these two points mean I would not recommend this specific hotel to anyone. I would, however, recommend staying in this area.

The hotel was clean, warm and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The surrounding area of Pigalle may not appeal to the prudish (lots of sex shops & porn theatres), but it's only 5 mins walk to the area of Montmartre with it's excellent food and wine shops, cafes, restaurants and Sacre Coeur. Staff could be really nice, but they 'd make you wait to get your key to your room while they talked to each other or on the phone. Website says the hotel has been remodeled; I question that. Plus, if you go during a hot season, there is no air conditioning or even a ceiling fan, so the rooms stay very hot during the night. Nor is there an ice chest; the staff told me to go to the bar next door to ask for some; however, the bartender flat out refused to give ice. But, most importantly, the rooms and bathrooms were clean.
