Stayed in Sept 09 for 3 nights,Hotel is situated in busy street with 3 metro stops within 2 min walking distance, with lots of restaurants bars around. Hotel is clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is 9euro per person and there is good varity on offer, hot food, cheese, yoghurt, fruit cold meats,cereals,hot/cold drinks. The rooms are clean, bright, little on small side (but that usual in Paris) Would highly recommend this hotel for people who want to be in centre Paris, its a lively street with plenty bars /restaurant. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel Elysee Montparnasse. I had read reviews by past visitors and everything was very much as expected. The position is close to several underground stations and enables easy travel around Paris. There are plenty of bars, cafés and restaurants near the hotel - we tried two and they were very good. The rooms were good value for the price; most of them being quite spacious. There were seven of us - my husband, myself and five children between the ages of 7 and 17. Only one double room of the three rooms we occupied was rather small. However, it was perfectly adequate. The bathrooms were modern and clean. We had the breakfast buffet every morning which is a little expensive (you can have breakfast for less nearby) unless you make the most of it and eat plenty. Many of the guests opted for the buffet. There were other families and couples. I would say that the hotel is very good value for money as it is not as expensive as other hotels offering the same amenities in Paris. We would certainly return.

We just needed an overnight stay in the Montparnasse area of Paris to catch an early train the following morning. We didn't eat at the Hotel. There was a good choice of places to eat. The staff at Hotel Elysee were very courteous, helpful and friendly.

Just change the directions you give for arriving hotel from CDG airport by train. It would be better for travellers do not get off Metro untill reaching Station QuineT... Thus there will not have to change metros and this station is as closed as it is Gaite (from other metro line 6)

This was the first time in Paris and found the hotel very comfortable and liked the area. We appreciated being near the Montparnasse Station (easy access to the fast train to Versaille) We went to a play at one of the nearby theatres. As seniors we enjoyed seeing all the students at the nearby restaurants.

We got this hotel on a sweaty afternoon in an internet cafe. We had run away from the Fay St Michel - horrible, horrible, do not go there. This little hotel was lovely and saved our holiday.

Thought the hotel was lovely, but the 'DVD shops' on the road let it down a little.

This hotel was under construction! The location is very good. It is a few minutes walking distance from railway staion, many good restrants and a big supermarket. The room is very very very small, but new and clean. There is no safety box in my room and reception desk. Staffs were not friendy.Don't expect any help (Nothing!) from them, however, there is not big promblem to just sleep.

Excellent location, plenty of really good restaurants nearby, excellently located for the Metro, Montparnasse region and only a nice half hour walk along the Boulevard St. Michel to the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, 5 minutes from the Luxembourg Gardens and the Senate. Don't worry about the shops nearby; we never noticed anything too seedy; unless you've grown up in a bubble you'll be comfortable enough!!! It's not at all seedy! Careful with the shower in renovated rooms, put towels at door into bathroom!

The hotel is under heavy refurbishment works. There is no lobby and noise wakes you at 7 in the morning when bricklayers arrives!!! The first night we slept in a room with neither heating, nor hot water in the bathroom. We did ask immediately to have another room, but we managed to have a new (and bigger) only the day after. I would we talked with the GM, but he was not on duty. Nobody apologised and nobody was able to explain that mess. My personal suggestion is to avoid this hotel for the next 6 months (at least!!!). Then it will maybe become an affordable and working hotel!!!

The hotel is currently being renovated - we stayed in a new room, and it was very nice. Don't be too put off by the the unsavory businesses that are along the same street; the hotel itself is tasteful, there are plenty of good restaurants and shops around, and the proximity to Montparnasse is really convenient. The walls are quite thin, though - expect to hear your neighbors.

Wanted to go in a 3 stars to change from standard 2 stars. But why it is a 3 stars? because there is hair dryer in room? I have no more than 2 words by employee in the entrance. I ask for a double I got a 3 small bed room. No really a good 2 stars is better than this hotel.
