My partners and I booked this for his 50th birthday. We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were so friendly, spoke excellent English, and could not be more helpful. Recommended. The room was very french, I'd say shabby chic, comfortable, nice and bright on the top floor, wouldnt match to a deluxe room to say our local Marriott in Essex, but we were not expecting that in central Paris for this price. The location was excellent, about ten minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe, twenty to the trocadero and about five minutes to two metro stations and one RER - so easy access to all the main Paris attractions. I'd say good value for central Paris and would definitely stay there again.

Very friendly and extremely pleasant hotel in a good location for getting around Paris - very easy to get to both lines 1 & 2 on the Metro. Our room with balcony was simply ideal for what we needed.

The hotel is central with a pleasant walk towards arc de triumph. The family room we booked was very spacious and very clean. It makes you feel like home. We were given a warm welcome and the language was not a problem. All the people were very nice and helpful, giving us maps and suggestions. We fully recommend this hotel and we will definately stay there again.

I was delighted with my stay at Hotel Residence Foch. Chedi and the other employees were extremely helpful in reccomending restaurants and providing directions. I will definitely stay there on my next trip to Paris and will enthusiastically reccomend them to my friends. It was also located in a wonderful neighborhood and not too far from transportation.

We enjoyed our stay. Great location and extremely helpful staff. Most rooms in Paris are not large. This room was comfortable. The public area was available for reading and gathering. We were actually a party of 7 including a six-year-old. We were comfortable gathering downstairs to chat and plan our day.

This is our second stay at Residence Foch. I was greeted by name when I was coming through the door and it was nice to feel remembered. Once again the service and friendliness of the staff and owner were excellent. As we had been to Paris a couple of times before, the man on reception was able to tell us different things to see and also some great out-of-the-way places to go shopping. This hotel is in a great residential location for going to restaurants and shops were Parisiennes also go.

The room is clean and the counter is very kind and sweet and I would like to thank for their kind service. However, there are few things needed to be noted: First, the refrigerator didn't work for few days ,which were not pleasant. Second, the free "WIFI" connection didn't work at all in the room due to bad connection signal, and I feel very disappointed with that although there is a public computer available for use. I thought that internet signals should be available in my own room before I visited the hotel.

Very good service. Rather ordinary breakfast offered, considering the American coffee and a quite ordinary croissant: I mean, we are in Paris! That would be the only "to be upgraded" comment!

This is our third time in Paris and our first stay at Hotel Residence Foch. We chose this area this time as we wanted somewhere quieter but still located close to best areas of Paris. We found the area great because it was more residential than touristy, and you get to experience the real parisian lifestyle. The Hotel room was very clean and the usual size for a Paris hotel. The staff were extremely helpful giving directions to the metro, best restaurants, shopping etc. I recommend this hotel to anyone, and we will stay there again next time we visit Paris.

The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous, providing directions to landmarks and providing useful advice on how best to utilize my time in Paris. The minibar is a bit expensive, but overall my stay was absolutely wonderful, and I would recommend the Residence Foch to anyone who's planning on traveling to Paris.

We had a lovely time during our stay at Residence Foch. The hotel is as described and the photos do it justice. Although is is a bit away from the main attractions there are multiple choices nearby for getting around. Also very close to Porte Maillot for the Air France shuttle to Charles De Gaulle airport. The staff were very welcoming and very willing to give advice about restaurants, transport etc.

This is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Europe! Close enough to downtown Paris (Champs De Ellyse) is about 15 minute walk - but the neighborhood is upscale and very nice! The staff, room, and breakfast are excellent. I highly recommend it!

We could see the Eiffel Tower from our room as informed on arrival but only at one end of the narrow balcony if you looked around the corner. And you would not eat breakfast on this balcony (too narrow and view is limited to rooftops) as recommended on arrival. Owners need to get real about the view and balcony attached to the room we had (no.70). Other than that I thought the price of 130 euro per night should have included the continental breakfast to make it great value. Overall a satisfactory stay in a satisfactory hotel - staff all friendly and helpful.

We felt so at home in this hotel. The location is an easy walk to the Arc de Triomphe (under 10 minutes), and about a 5 minute walk to the A Metro line, which takes you to most of the city highlights, especially the ones a family would want to see. We are a family of four, boys are 10 and 13, and the family suite was perfect ... two partially divided rooms, sharing the bath. The rooms were great, the breakfast was great, etc., but the real comment I have was the service. It was outstanding. I have never been treated so nice, and had such friendly, helpful service. I read this on reviews before I booked this hotel, and they were 100% correct. The best and friendliest service. We will absolutely stay here again our next trip to Paris.

We were very pleased with the hotel. The staff were exceedingly friendly and let us practise our French on them! Any questions we asked were anwered quickly and we were given help with our day trip planning and information about how to get around the city. We had breakfast at the hotel every day, the breakfast room was light and pleasant, the food carefully presented and our coffee carafe filled as needed. The room was small, we had expected that but it was very clean and the furnishings were attractive. The bed was comfortable. We would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to our friends. The hotel was well situated for getting to places around the city. We walked to the Eiffel Tower but the Metro was easily accessible and we used that also. There were restaurants within easy reach. I think that the Residence Foch is best suited to adult travellers, the small spaces available might make it more difficult for families with young children.

We stayed at Residence Foch at the beginning of November 2008.On reading the numerous reviews we had expected to find a good place and were not dissapointed. We were 3,but thanks to a mistake of the hotel staff we got a really large room for 4.It was nicely decorated and it is VERY clean-spotless!The breakfast is a bit expensive, but if you don't feel going anywhere in the morning-it's ok. And the staff is excellent, very helpful and nice. The only frustrating thing-the building is very old and the walls are so thin!If you've got an early-bird on the upper floor(like we had)-be ready to wake up with him hearing his every step and move!

Our initial allocated Luxury Room on the sixth floor with balcony was very small but we were moved to a larger room the next day. After this the stay was excellent, the staff were so helpful and friendly and this certainly made up for a disappointing start. We would certainly stay at this hotel again and highly recommend it to others.

Stayed in Paris for 3 nights and stayed in deluxe room with small balcony on 6th floor. Room decor was a bit tired but other than that the room was very comfortable (especially the bed)and very clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay special. The area was a lot better than we thought as, although the hotel was in a quiet residential area restaurants were a 5 minute walk away and the Arc du Triomphe was 10 minutes away. There were 2 metro stations close by connecting to a lot of the major sites. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

THREE COMPLAINTS. PAPER THIN WALLS. A BIG PROBLEM. EVEN FOR A HEAVY SLEEPER. SOME FLOORS DO NOT HAVE ELEVATORS! CRAZY WHEN YOU CONSIDER THAT SOME GUESTS MAY ACTUALLY HAVE TO DRAG THEIR OWN BAGS WHEN NO PORTER IS AVAILABLE. BUSES DO NOT LEAVE FOR THE AIRPORT EVERY 15 MINUTES, AS ADVERTISED 45-60 IS MORE ACCURATE (BUT THAT MAY BE A FRENCH TRANSPORT ISSUE).

Our room was small but cozy and very clean. The staff as extemely helpful and very friendly. The location was remarkable(there are two metro stations only a three to five minute walk away). My only complaint is that the wally were too thin. We could hear everything our neighbors talked about so I am sure they could hear everything we talked about. We had a fantastic stay and will stay again if we ever return to Paris.

Our family of four (two boys ages 8 and 11) stayed three nights in July. Excellent location and very helpful staff. Restaurant recommendations were fabulous. The hotel is in a wonderful location a short walk to the Arc de Triomphe and many surrounding attractions, and near three different metro stations. We stayed in a "family suite" (quad room) in July 2008. The room was about the size of two regular European hotel rooms with one bathroom. It had one king bed (two twins pushed together actually) and two other separate beds - a cot and a day bed. It really was perfect for us - a family of 4 with kids ages 8, 11. The location is just OK - a 5 to 10 minute walk to the metro station with restaurants and grocery markets close by. The Arc de Triumph is a 10 minute walk and the Eiffel Tour 20 minutes. We had to take the metro to the Louvre and Notre Dame areas. The breakfast, although is an additional cost, was very good - your typical European breakfast with breads, pastries, yogurt, cereal, meat, cheese, dried fruit, and boiled eggs. The service at this hotel is perhaps the best service I have received in any hotel including many 5 star hotels I have stayed at. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and I can't say enough good things about every single employee I encountered. In summary, there might be places to stay that are a bit closer to the main attractions, but the price (139 Euros for a family of 4 in high season) and more important, the staff, make this hotel highly recommended by our family!

STAFF ARE WELCOMING, HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. ROOMS DO VARY IN SIZE BUT ARE WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT IN PARIS AND ALL ARE ADEQUATE. LIFT ONLY GOES 5 FLOORS SO ASK TO BE BELOW THAT IF YOU HAVE HEAVY BAGS. HOTEL IS WELL LOCATED AND IN EASY REACH OF GOOD RESTAURANTS (ASK ABOUT FERDINANDS) AND SHOPS/TOURIST PLACES GOOD BREAKFAST. WE HAD TWO ROOMS AND ENJOYED OUR STAY.

My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Foch, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We would recommend the breakfast although we had read reviews saying it was not value for money. The only thing that we were not pleased with, was the size of the 'double bed' in my opinion it was only for one person. If I returned I would like a bigger bed, or two singles.

We have just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay at the Residence Foch, and can't recommend it highly enough. The staff are all lovely and friendly, the room was clean and well decorated, and the breakfast's delicious. We were travelling as a family of 4 with a 5 year old and an 8 month old, and had struggled to find a suitable child friendly hotel with family rooms. The Residence Foch was perfect - we booked a family room (no 40) and it had a separate area with single bed for the eldest which was separated from the main room by curtains at night, while there was enough room for a cot next to the Queen sized bed. We are always stressed out by the prospect of breakfast in a communal breakfast room, as we are conscious of disturbing other guests if the children are noisy, so it was great that the hotel offer breakfast in your room for no extra charge. Whilst the choice is less than that available downstairs (no cheese, fruit or meat) we were more than happy with the delicious selection of pastries and bread we had each day. The bathroom was a little dated and could do with sprucing up, but it was always spotlessly clean which is the main thing. The hotel is in a quiet residential area so there was no problem with noise at night, and it is about 5 minutes walk to the nearest metro. Only 2 mins away there is a good general store, and a patisserie, and we ate at "Del Papa's" italian which the hotel recommended to us - very child friendly, quick service and great pasta. All in all we were absolutely delighted with the hotel, and pleased that we had found so many positive reviews for it which gave us confidence in booking it. Highly recommended!

The staff were tremendous, very welcoming and friendly. My husband, brother and sister in law were over for the France Scotland football match on 12th Sept. A special mention to the night staff. We were out late both nights and were made very welcome when we arrived back. We were given information regarding the metro and maps to get us around. We were even told if we wanted to book meals to let them know and they would arrange for us. The breakfast, which we only had one morning, was ample. Again, we were greeted by friendly staff. Really was impressed. The location was excellent. 5 mins walk in either direction from the front door to metro stations. We walked one day to the Eiffel Tower, which took us about 25 mins. There was the metro station, but the walk was so nice, we preferred the fresh air. The only negative was our room was next to the supplies cupboard and in the morning we didn't get a peaceful long lie due to the cleaners opening and closing the cupboard doors. That was the only down side. On the whole would definately recommend this hotel. If I am ever in Paris again, would not hesitate to book Residence Hotel Foch!

This hotel is full of character, located in a very quiet, old street in the best part of Paris close to Arc de Triomphe and Metro. Owner Nellie and staff are charming and really helpful. Breakfast was just how we like it. Only two drawbacks - the rooms are really small, no good if you have a lot of luggage; and the computer has a French keyboard (same all over France) so if you are used to QWERTY you will have problems.

We booked this hotel because it was reasonably priced and was rated No 9 in the whole of Paris on a well-known internet site. Perhaps because our hopes had been raised we were rather disappointed. There is nothing wrong with Residence Foch, but it isnt very exciting - it really is just a 3 star hotel. However, the rooms are very quiet. We had a look around and saw some of the suites: I didnt think they looked good value for money.

The staff are uniformly and genuinely courteous. They all possess a good command of English that we greatly appreciated. The room was a little small but quite satisfactory; there are larger rooms. This was the only hotel we stayed in during our vacation that had individual room temperature control! The location is excellent - a quiet street within a few minutes' walk of a Metro station and good restaurants. The best in-town hotel experience of our entire vacation. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it highly.

Was very pleasantly surprised with Res. Foch. Fantastic welcome from staff; great rate for a large room (room 10), although it was paris in august! nice quiet area and yet plenty of restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Within easy reach of La Defense for business travellers.

Only stayed one night but the experience was exellent. The morning we were leaving we had a slight problem as our flights home were not until late evening, and we had lots of luggage. We didn't fancy carrying it around Paris for hours, however there was no need to worry, as before I had a chance to ask, the Staff kindly offered to keep them for us. I don't know if the Staff were very well trained or just nice people, or perhaps both. Highly Recommended!

This hotel is really lovely and SUCH good value for money. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We found it to be in a good location, the nearest Metro station (Porte Maillot) being only a five minute walk away. The breakfast is delicious too. I'm struggling to think of anything that was not perfect about it! Highly recommended for a romantic weekend in Paris. We'd definitely stay there again.

For a excellently situated hotel in the centre of Paris, the Residence Foch was superb, both for price and quality. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. An ideal hotel for the Paris marathon weekend - we'll be back next year!
