Overall we were happy with our stay. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small (a room with the bed taking up most of the space and a bathroom). We didn't spend a lot of time in the room so it was fine for us but if you intend to spend a lot of time in the room, then spend more money for a bigger place. The location was great, on a main street with a bakery, supermarket, Starbucks and plenty of restaurants close by.

Only negative is that there is no elevator in this 5 story building, so it's quite a hike ups some narrow circular stairs to the upper floors. But the staff is uncommonly pleasant and helpful.

Noise was terrible. Awaken by guests coming and going, shutting and locking doors. Housekeeping was even louder. When rustling plastic trash bags can be heard inside your room, you know there's a noise problem. Room also filled with disgusting odor several times a day. Not sure if it was lofting cigarette smoke or from some other source. But it was enough to wake you from your sleep and lingered for hours. Also place locks up at 1:00am. You have to wake the desk clerk after that, if u can by knocking on outer locked doors. Not the best place if you want to stay out late in Paris. No lift. 4th floor room means about 80 stairs to climb each time.

Very small room, little room and the bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a glass door (like a shower door). There are larger rooms in the hotel, we were unlucky, with the same price our friends had a larger room... The staff is very rude, except for a tall guy: In the room the heater would not turn off and we had to ask THREE times that would help us. He did just the tall guy (in 5 minutes flat). The others were told rudely that you slept with the window open (March in Paris is very COLD) Not recommended.

Hotel Pratic was a nice little spot, convenient to Metro line 1 (Saint Paul station) and a nice, easy walk to restaurants, boulangeries, brasseries, etc. Our room was small but suited our needs perfectly. The side street where the hotel is located is reasonably quiet at night and we didn't have trouble sleeping. There's no lift, so be able to carry your bags up stairs. The staff were friendly and spoke English in varying amounts. I'd recommend this place for budget travelers and we'd stay there again.

Is an hotel very clean and situated near of St.Paul's railway station, a ten minutes from Hotel de Ville and the Les Halles's RER station, the way to go to Charles Degaulle airport. The " petit déjeuner" is good. A very little rooms but very clean. The vue over St.Catherine place is very romantic. There is not elevator, but it's not problem for me.

First room we got had glass doors to shower and bathroom..( not everyone's cup of tea )...cost additional €60 for a room with an ordinary door to the toilet......just in door and charged more...... Not a good start. Apart from that location was ideal...clean well run hotel with helpful staff....would definitely return to this hotel.....view from window had lovely view of square.....( room 3 ). Cannot comment about the other rooms....free wifi that worked all the time......breakfast was excellent value at €7 Many time traveller to Paris with wife for long and short stays....... Would have been rated 10 but lost out to 9 because of glass toilet door and having to pay more.

Wonderful staff. Spoke very good English when our French faltered slightly. Cant comment on food as we didn't have any at the hotel. My one and only complaint was the size of the rooms! It was maybe ten paces from the entrance of the room to the bed. The 'en-suite' was more like the size of a wardrobe. You could use the toilet and brush your teeth at the same time. My partner is of a muscular built and had to use the bathroom door sideways as he couldn't fit through normally. None of this ruined our stay but i would have liked to know the room dimensions before hand

I was looking for a quiet, clean, no frills, central hotel for a couple of nights and this place fits the bill. Like many things in Paris, the value for money ratio is not so good, but this is true of New York, London or any other city. If you intend to spend a lot of time in your room, you are better off somewhere else, but if you simply need a place to sleep (and I could sleep very well), this hotel is more than adequate.

This is fabulous little hotel. Recommend the room with a view - its worth the extra. Staff friendly, and the hotel felt secure. A great central location. If you have problems climbing stairs - don't book, but otherwise its not a problem - helps work off the croissants! Our double room was basic but spacious enough and clean. The bathroom looked new. The price is very reasonible for the location and we are considering booking again for a summer weekend.

This hotel is in an excellent location - easy to get to transport or to walk to main sites of Paris. The pretty little square where it is has lots of restaurants in which you can eat and there are plenty more within easy walking distance. Despite the climb up the stairs, it is worth having a room on the top floors for the view(of the square). We did have a problem with a buzzing noise in the attic on our first night (like a loud extractor fan) but when explained to the receptionist, he was very obliging and moved our room to the floor below with no argument. The first room was more spacious than the second but both were fine for our needs with comfy beds and hot shower - we did not spend much time in the room - too much else to do!

Check-in,check-out excellent, hearty breakfast delivered fastly and pleasantly in a cosy dining room. Unfortunately, room quite tiny(for some, around 5 square meters according to French CARREZ law). Shower when closed a bit suffocating. No lift.Small Tv set and remote control to be replaced. Howether these weaknesses outlined are counterbalanced by a nice and welcoming staff and a central location. The correct choice if you want to be a few hundred yards of any destination in central Paris.

Pleasant rooms and nicely decorated with quirky touches! great location in a pretty square in the Marais - only problem was we were not provided with towels in our room - I'm sure that was just a mistake though - also the cleaner came straight into our room at 9am without knocking when we were in bed. We found the location of the hotel to be very convenient for sight-seeing and close to the metro. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast service was efficient. One comment concerns the coffee and milk jugs which because of their design do not pour well. Also the double bed in our room was against the wall, making it inconvenient for the inner occupant. We would, however, stay at this hotel again.

English:Room was to much small. So there fore there is no more place for other spaces. No Wlan. No TV. There was nothing what i can tell positiv.I will never go back to this hotel (for my eyes its not hotel). We can not take shower.Other side every person who is in the roome can see what you do in the WC.And you can hear what your neighbour speaking. Vraiment vraiment vraiment cauchemardesque!

The hotel is in a beautiful location close to the Metro. Through the room had a beautiful view of the square,it was small and had no airconditioning. We had to open the windows to let some air in. The hotel is being renovated so public areas were dirty, dark, and poorly lit, specially the narrow staircase. People with problems ambulating should be aware that the hotel has no lift.

Great neighbour and location (5 min far from the metro station), great welcoming and kind and competent personel, very clean warm and quite room. NO WIRELESS (but the public one is available on the plaza outside). Lot of shops, restaurant, brasseries, cake makers. 10-20 minutes walk from Notre-Dame. Safe neighbourhood also in the evening/night (I was alone with my 13 years son, no problems going out in the night alone). They are going to renew the hotel so we found electric cables and plastic in the floor (if I have had my 3 years old child perhaps I would have some trubles with that). No LIFT so if you are a mature person perhaps you should ask for a 1 floor room. I would come back surely. The price for a double room on venere was 70 Euro but in the hotel it was 137 Euro!!!

The subway station is three blocks away, and five blocks from La Bastille, around there are several bistros, supermarkets, tabac shops and bulangeries---... If you choose this hotel don't expect luxury... but is an hotel for go to sleep, take a shower and discover Paris. If you want to enjoy an hotel for hours during the day, don't stay in this... We stayed for 6 nights (without breakfast). Old hotel (no elevator), the impressively-looking reception and hall, decorated with nice paintings. Friendly stuff. Some sort of renovation works during the day, so sometimes it was quite noisy. Room was tiny - like 40 cm around bed, 1 chair and a small table. Small TV near ceiling, 5 French channels of poor quality receive. No internet - there are 3 "free" wireless networks which still require passwords. Well, normally you don't care about these things, while you only sleep there. BUT. There was one and only (!) electrical outlet/socket in the room! On a height of ~2.5 m! Nowadays, when everybody has cell phone, digital camera and some other electrical devices needed to be recharged, it's like a bad joke. To our opinion, the only what excuses drawbacks - it hotels location. It's close to main tourist attractions like Louvre and Notre-Dam and Rivoli street with its shops; underground station is 1 min away.

There are so many stairs. Would not suggest this place to someone who has problems climbing stairs. The rooms are small, but if you are there to sleep then its fine. No point to turn on the tv since there are 3 french channels. OK this is the best....you can shower and use the toliet at the same time.i'm serious! and the water turns off every min. A lovely hotel in a great area, with very helpful and friendly staff. I only had two small issues: despite booking a double room, we were given a twin; and no telephone in the room, not essential but a little difficult to call reception in need, as suggested by the front desk... I have already recommended it to a colleague, but would discourage elderly people or families, as there is no lift.

The location of this hotel is excellent , close proximity to Notre Dame and the Seine, abundant of good bistros in the vicinity etc. Our room , as expected is small. As it is a corner suite, the walls are concrete which is great for sound insulation but the somehow wherever the neighbours flushes their toilets, the sound just amplified loudly in our room. Other than that, we had an enjoyable stay in Paris. The website indicated that there are security safes in each room but that was not the case. Cheers.

The street was noisy and the plumbing fairly loud so it would suit a heavy sleeper best. As a single, female traveller this hotel suited me very well.

Excelente relación calidad/precio, sobre todo por la ubicación del hotel, que se encuentra muy próximo a la ille de france, al louvre y al barrio latino. La plaza en la que se encuentra también es muy inspiradora.

My friend and I were on vacation in Paris for only one night and the hotel was just what we needed. The room was small, but when you are traveling and sight seeing all day, it is just what you need. Breakfast is offered at a small fee (12 Euro for two I think) which is convenient.

the position is great and the rooms are clean, but the bathroom is really too small and the stairs (6 floors walk up) are hard to do.not suggested for older people, but very good for young people and couples.

People very friendly and helpful. no elevators and if you are on upper floors, it is quite a hike. The stairs are next to the rooms and you can hear people going up and down. You can also hear every time someone flushes the toilet or takes a shower. If you are a light sleeper, wear ear plugs. No wi-fi. Great location in Marais district, close to metro and bus lines. all the necessary shops are right there---

Basic but confortable hotel as fas as my staying was concerned. I had to stay one night so I had just a small luggage and I didn't mind if in the hotel there was no lift and my room was on the 5th floor...This could be the only disadvantage of this hotel in my opinion, otherwise I found it clean, the service was ok, the room was extremely quiet, the hotel surroundings GREAT and the underground just round the corner. I could recommend it to young people who don't mind having so luxury rooms but just a "practical" place to stay (like the name of the hotel says!) and rather visit and discover Paris, a real fantastic city.

I sincerilly believe that the price of the breakfast is too high for what it is... With 6 euros i could eat way better in other places than at the hotel.

a little hotel well situated in "le Marais". Nice people but poor facilities. No internet. Expensive with regard to product/services/facilities. Similar hotels around seemed 20-30% cheaper.

Nice little hotel, with "little" as the key word. We had a "superior double room with view of the Place du Marché Ste. Cathérine" confirmed, and when we checked in (late) we got a room under the roof, six floors up and no elevator. The view of the Place du Marché etc. etc. was from the bathroom. Big depression! On mentioning this to the receptionist, we learned that Americans (!) tend to love that kind of room for its rustiqueness and traditional Parisian allure. Being Norwegian and having visited Paris regularly over the last 30 years, we disputed the relevance of his argument and were promised a room change in the morning. The new room was everything we had expected; a little cramped with regard to wardrobe space, true, but with a beautiful bathroom, and view of the Place from both. Breakfast was generic, but good as generic breakfasts go.

the location is perfect - in the center of paris. it is a small hotel and nice one - old building but the room looks new. the room we made the reservasion for turn to be so tiny, no space even for to put the suitcases but the hotel offered us a larger room, not so small and with a view (the street) and it was a nice room. again - the location was excellent and made a good value for the money.

The quality of the room was excellent for the price paid. Booking the room was conveniently easy and all information on the website for the hotel were great. I booked an extra night stay after the original booking and received an email response (which I have kept!) confirming the booking. I arrived on the date of booking and the room for the extra night was not available. The claimed internet access was NOT available and staff was not knowledgeable about any internet-related issues. I would be willing to pay for the internet access. At an age where WI-FI is accessible, the hotel should pursue that and leave it up for guests to pay a special fee to log onto to their internet service. There was no expectation for extreme provision of services. The hotel is well kept, impeccably clean, and priced appropriately.

Location is good, about 10min walk from Hotel de Ville, very near to the subway station. Room was very small, which I was expecting anyway :). However I did not expect to have dirty towels (they were once white... now the color was uncertain and there had stain spots) or dirty/old blankets... In the reception area there some kind of open storage space behind curtain with all kinds of old/broken stuff... pretty scary. I bet you can do better for 90/night... even in the same area.

We only stayed one night, but it was a good, clean place with necessities. If you don't mind climbing a spiral staircase (possibly to the 6th floor!) then it is a good choice-good view from the top. It was recently renovated & in a decent location (about 10 minutes walk from Notre Dame). Rooms are close together so you can hear people next door going in & out of their rooms, but other than that, no other noise issues. We didn't try the breakfast, but they had normal prices. (Also, many bakeries & cafes nearby). I was a good quality hotel, especially for the money paid-$60 Euros.

No workspace whatsoever.Old mattresses stacked in attractive pb area so it was unavailable for guests; unsafe stairs with unusable railing on the wrong side;abominable bathroom:stained towels w/ holes; tiny sink w no place to set or hang anything, mirror way above eye level;commode space narrower than woman's shoulders.FABULOUS location if you are on foot & camping out.

As I already wrote you: 1) I have not cancelled/modified my reservation from 25 to 27 January at Practic Hotel in Paris! The hotel gave you wrong information. 2) I booked a room which was supposed to have a double bed for 2 persons and bathroom with shower. When we came into the room, we realized that the bathroom was not a true bathroom, but just a coin in the very little corridor of the room, separated by a curtain! In other words, no bathroom's door!! This is not acceptable and the description in your web site was absolutely misleading. A bathroom is intended as a "room" separated by walls and door, and not just a toilet, a very little sink and a super -small shower separated by the rest of the room (we are speaking of a room of about 10square meters! !) by a plastic dirty and unhealthy curtain! 3) When we were going out for dinner, I gently asked the receptionist whether, by chance, there was the possibility to have a different bedroom with a proper bathroom and I explained the reasons. They replied that the hotel was fully booked and that the only available room was that one. I complained very gently that the description and the pictures I saw in the web-site were misleading and that we were supposed to pay for something completely different. The actual situation of the room should have been clearly described in the web-site. I also stated that I would have sent my complaints to Venere.com and that I would have scored the hotel very low. The receptionists started arguing and treating me in a very naughty and bad way. Anyway, I asked whether, in case we would have managed to find another hotel for the second night, they could have reimbursed us. The replied YES, no problem. We can reimburse you cash! This sounded very strange to me, as I had payed by credit card. 4) We went for dinner and decided of not wasting our time in Paris looking for a hotel for just one night, but of staying at Practic Hotel. However, when we came
