They gave us a very small room (there were three), but the bed was comfortable, the bathroom small but functional. The heating was high but in general we are satisfied. To be in the Marais would say that is a good solution. We have never eaten at the hotel, but the neighborhood and throughout the city offer solutions for everyone. Try the 404 rue de Gravilliers.Cool FLEUX for object shopping.

English:Room was to much small. So there fore there is no more place for other spaces. No Wlan. No TV. There was nothing what i can tell positiv.I will never go back to this hotel (for my eyes its not hotel). We can not take shower.Other side every person who is in the roome can see what you do in the WC.And you can hear what your neighbour speaking. Vraiment vraiment vraiment cauchemardesque!

The hotel is in a beautiful location close to the Metro. Through the room had a beautiful view of the square,it was small and had no airconditioning. We had to open the windows to let some air in. The hotel is being renovated so public areas were dirty, dark, and poorly lit, specially the narrow staircase. People with problems ambulating should be aware that the hotel has no lift.

Great neighbour and location (5 min far from the metro station), great welcoming and kind and competent personel, very clean warm and quite room. NO WIRELESS (but the public one is available on the plaza outside). Lot of shops, restaurant, brasseries, cake makers. 10-20 minutes walk from Notre-Dame. Safe neighbourhood also in the evening/night (I was alone with my 13 years son, no problems going out in the night alone). They are going to renew the hotel so we found electric cables and plastic in the floor (if I have had my 3 years old child perhaps I would have some trubles with that). No LIFT so if you are a mature person perhaps you should ask for a 1 floor room. I would come back surely. The price for a double room on venere was 70 Euro but in the hotel it was 137 Euro!!!

Iwas using the hotel as a place to sleep and that is all i used it for so I did not see any other rooms or guests. For those who are old or have bad knees check to make sure you are not on the $th floor because they did not have a lift...Room was very small but very clean. I have not been able to answer the tpe and number of available rooms because I did not see any other rooms and was not in a mood to ask....

Perfect for one person, but a little teeny for two tall people. Packing up to leave became a bit of a comedy of errors. But on the whole, a great price for the location and an enjoyable stay.

The location was great, and we cycled everywhere. Bike was the best option for us. The only problem is that we were in the 6th floor and there was no lift :-0. Apart from that it was well worth the price. I was taking my best friend who was there for the first time.

Great location. Excellent rates for the location. Clean. No internet access - I would not stay there again for that reason - but otherwise it was a fine place to stay. Note that it is a 5 floor walk up which might not be best for everyone.

I stayed in Paris for 10 days and I have to change in three hotels. This one was very good, 20 min from Louvre, 10 min from Notre Dame, 50 min walking from Eiffel tower... I really recomended. The subway station is three blocks away, and five blocks from La Bastille, around there are several bistros, supermarkets, tabac shops and bulangeries---... If you choose this hotel don't expect luxury... but is an hotel for go to sleep, take a shower and discover Paris. If you want to enjoy an hotel for hours during the day, don't stay in this... If you wanna go and enjoy and discover Paris and all it wonders, this would be a good choice...

We stayed for 6 nights (without breakfast). Old hotel (no elevator), the impressively-looking reception and hall, decorated with nice paintings. Friendly stuff. Some sort of renovation works during the day, so sometimes it was quite noisy. Room was tiny - like 40 cm around bed, 1 chair and a small table. Small TV near ceiling, 5 French channels of poor quality receive. No internet - there are 3 "free" wireless networks which still require passwords. Well, normally you don't care about these things, while you only sleep there. BUT. There was one and only (!) electrical outlet/socket in the room! On a height of ~2.5 m! Nowadays, when everybody has cell phone, digital camera and some other electrical devices needed to be recharged, it's like a bad joke. To our opinion, the only what excuses drawbacks - it hotels location. It's close to main tourist attractions like Louvre and Notre-Dam and Rivoli street with its shops; underground station is 1 min away.

The location of Hotel Pratic is fantastic, lots of restaurants and cafes, interesting shops, pedestrian streets, close to the metro and easy to get to from the airport - if you don't have a lot of luggage! One of the reception people was very helpful, the other seemed more put out to make an effort beyond giving you your room key.

Don't expect luxury here. The building is 17th century; the rooms are modern and clean but very small; there is no lift. BUT it's good value for money; the staff are helpful and pleasant and it's is in the Marais, one of Paris's oldest and mst historically interesting areas. If you're just looking for somewhere to sleep and have a shower after a day out in Paris, it's ideal.

There are so many stairs. Would not suggest this place to someone who has problems climbing stairs. The rooms are small, but if you are there to sleep then its fine. No point to turn on the tv since there are 3 french channels. OK this is the best....you can shower and use the toliet at the same time.i'm serious! and the water turns off every min. With that said the location and price was great; so if you are looking for somewhere to sleep n shower than this place works. If you are looking for luxery than go elsewhere

A lovely hotel in a great area, with very helpful and friendly staff. I only had two small issues: despite booking a double room, we were given a twin; and no telephone in the room, not essential but a little difficult to call reception in need, as suggested by the front desk... I have already recommended it to a colleague, but would discourage elderly people or families, as there is no lift.

The location of this hotel is excellent , close proximity to Notre Dame and the Seine, abundant of good bistros in the vicinity etc. Our room , as expected is small. As it is a corner suite, the walls are concrete which is great for sound insulation but the somehow wherever the neighbours flushes their toilets, the sound just amplified loudly in our room. Other than that, we had an enjoyable stay in Paris. The website indicated that there are security safes in each room but that was not the case. Cheers.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I got a better room than I was expecting and felt that it was very good value. The room was small but clean, comfortable and interestingly decorated. The street was noisy and the plumbing fairly loud so it would suit a heavy sleeper best. As a single, female traveller this hotel suited me very well.

Basic but confortable hotel as fas as my staying was concerned. I had to stay one night so I had just a small luggage and I didn't mind if in the hotel there was no lift and my room was on the 5th floor...This could be the only disadvantage of this hotel in my opinion, otherwise I found it clean, the service was ok, the room was extremely quiet, the hotel surroundings GREAT and the underground just round the corner. I could recommend it to young people who don't mind having so luxury rooms but just a "practical" place to stay (like the name of the hotel says!) and rather visit and discover Paris, a real fantastic city.

Nice little hotel, with "little" as the key word. We had a "superior double room with view of the Place du Marché Ste. Cathérine" confirmed, and when we checked in (late) we got a room under the roof, six floors up and no elevator. The view of the Place du Marché etc. etc. was from the bathroom. Big depression! On mentioning this to the receptionist, we learned that Americans (!) tend to love that kind of room for its rustiqueness and traditional Parisian allure. Being Norwegian and having visited Paris regularly over the last 30 years, we disputed the relevance of his argument and were promised a room change in the morning. The new room was everything we had expected; a little cramped with regard to wardrobe space, true, but with a beautiful bathroom, and view of the Place from both. Breakfast was generic, but good as generic breakfasts go.

The location is perfect - in the center of paris. it is a small hotel and nice one - old building but the room looks new. the room we made the reservasion for turn to be so tiny, no space even for to put the suitcases but the hotel offered us a larger room, not so small and with a view (the street) and it was a nice room. again - the location was excellent and made a good value for the money.

The quality of the room was excellent for the price paid. Booking the room was conveniently easy and all information on the website for the hotel were great. I booked an extra night stay after the original booking and received an email response (which I have kept!) confirming the booking. I arrived on the date of booking and the room for the extra night was not available. The claimed internet access was NOT available and staff was not knowledgeable about any internet-related issues. I would be willing to pay for the internet access. At an age where WI-FI is accessible, the hotel should pursue that and leave it up for guests to pay a special fee to log onto to their internet service. There was no expectation for extreme provision of services. The hotel is well kept, impeccably clean, and priced appropriately.

Location is good, about 10min walk from Hotel de Ville, very near to the subway station. Room was very small, which I was expecting anyway :). However I did not expect to have dirty towels (they were once white... now the color was uncertain and there had stain spots) or dirty/old blankets... In the reception area there some kind of open storage space behind curtain with all kinds of old/broken stuff... pretty scary. I bet you can do better for 90/night... even in the same area.

We only stayed one night, but it was a good, clean place with necessities. If you don't mind climbing a spiral staircase (possibly to the 6th floor!) then it is a good choice-good view from the top. It was recently renovated & in a decent location (about 10 minutes walk from Notre Dame). Rooms are close together so you can hear people next door going in & out of their rooms, but other than that, no other noise issues. We didn't try the breakfast, but they had normal prices. (Also, many bakeries & cafes nearby). I was a good quality hotel, especially for the money paid-$60 Euros.

As I already wrote you: 1) I have not cancelled/modified my reservation from 25 to 27 January at Practic Hotel in Paris! The hotel gave you wrong information. 2) I booked a room which was supposed to have a double bed for 2 persons and bathroom with shower. When we came into the room, we realized that the bathroom was not a true bathroom, but just a coin in the very little corridor of the room, separated by a curtain! In other words, no bathroom's door!! This is not acceptable and the description in your web site was absolutely misleading. A bathroom is intended as a "room" separated by walls and door, and not just a toilet, a very little sink and a super -small shower separated by the rest of the room (we are speaking of a room of about 10square meters! !) by a plastic dirty and unhealthy curtain! 3) When we were going out for dinner, I gently asked the receptionist whether, by chance, there was the possibility to have a different bedroom with a proper bathroom and I explained the reasons. They replied that the hotel was fully booked and that the only available room was that one. I complained very gently that the description and the pictures I saw in the web-site were misleading and that we were supposed to pay for something completely different. The actual situation of the room should have been clearly described in the web-site. I also stated that I would have sent my complaints to Venere.com and that I would have scored the hotel very low. The receptionists started arguing and treating me in a very naughty and bad way. Anyway, I asked whether, in case we would have managed to find another hotel for the second night, they could have reimbursed us. The replied YES, no problem. We can reimburse you cash! This sounded very strange to me, as I had payed by credit card. 4) We went for dinner and decided of not wasting our time in Paris looking for a hotel for just one night, but of staying at Practic Hotel. However, when we came

Nice accomodation (triple-bed room)clean, hotel situated excellent near Paris centre ville, gentle staff. Nice italian restaurant "soprano" beside the hotel. Rubish collection and road-cleaning make some noise early in the morning, but that's normal for french cities. Only 3 min. to Metro.

Don't take anyone back to your room! The guy at the door wanted me to pay for a double for a friend to come back to my room. I don't think so !!!

Nice hotel, friendly staff, good quotations. There was one only problem: the hotel has no elevator and taking the stairs even only four times a day, is a job your legs won't appreciate too much! Specially when you're staying on the fifth floor.

Excellent location in Marais ten minutes walk from Notre Dame. Friendly staff. Extremely small room. Dark and gloomy. No lift but on first floor so no problem. Pity guests on sixth with luggage. Grey towels with holes in. Sheets never changed during six day stay. Good price for location so probably shouldn't expect too much. Will probably upgrade next time. OK as a base but with qualifications.

Very well located hotel on quiet street in Marrais (4.th Arr.). Only 100 meters away from Rue de Rivoli with Metro, bus and supermarket. Hotel Pratic faces a nice square w. big trees and 5-6 restaurants. No lift – and 114 steps to top floor – so be prepared for some exercise! Several rooms under rebuilding (May 2007) and seems to become bigger afterwards. If your in Paris for being out in the city – and only need a hotel to rest, sleep and shower in – I can hardy think of a better choice than Hotel Practic when yopu take the price into account (app 100 EUR/night).

- very small room (which is a real handicap for tall people) : impossible to move in the shower, head flattened against the top... - We weren't informed before arriving that more than 50% of the rooms couldn't be rented because of an important water damage... consequences : a lot of people had to find other hotels in Paris at the last minute, needless to say it's a real mission - An advice : ask the hotel to confirm your reservation by mail and keep it as a proof - On the other hand, the location is great!!!! In conclusion, this hotel is a good solution if you only want a well located room and a bed to sleep! If you want something more sophisticated, go your way!! ciao

Good location: Bastille has a lot of variety for entertainment and is central to the sites and metro. Warm greeting and helpful staff. No Lift. Decor matches pictures. Small, basic room suited for resting after a day/night out. Builders noisy in the morning. Breakfast offered but not taken. Good shower. OK stay.

Very spacious and nicely done room. Unfortunately, there was renovation work going on while our stay and the whole place was noisy during the day - which should have been reflected on at least some discounted price. No elevator, either, so hauling up the luggage on narrow stair case is not for not so young.

Kein LIFT! Excellente Metro-Anbindung.

Great location in the Marais. Very small room and small shower. Floors are also slightly slanted, kind of disorienting. But overall, decent stay and fairly quiet. If you're staying on top floors, it's a bit of a hike b/c of no elevator.

I was there for my job and this is not a good solution for people who working in Paris. But the sourrandig is simply wonderful! The little square which the hotel face on, give you a great sense of peace and realx. Atmosphere is typically parisienne. The staff is not so prepared but polite. Rooms are small, very small, but clean. I suggest this hotel to young couples ( there's not the elevator ) in a romantic trip...

We had a double with an en suite shower/toilet/sink. Room was smaller than the usual small Parisian Hotel. No Lift. Staff was probably friendlier than usual because I spoke French. Basically we needed a room, we were barely in it, and it filled a need. We had a hard time finding a room and grabbed this one. It is in a safe area and relatively clean. Nice and close to fun shops and metro stop. My girlfriend and I had a hysterical laugh about how small the room was!!! She had to crawl over me to get out of bed!!! It's a good thing we are good friends like sisters, we would have killed eachother otherwise!!! My husband would have had a fit over how small the room was!!! Funny how girls can cope with funky hotel rooms so long as the door locks and it's safe and clean!!!

As a foreigner travelling overseas, I was so impressed how easy it was to find the hotel. It so central and everything is just around, restaurants, cinemas, clubs, shopping centres, museums, Eiffel tower, it all in a walking distance. The hotel is situated opposite nice restaurants. I will recommend, that anyone travelling on low budget, but want to have the best of what Paris offers, then use The Pratic Hotel. The hotel staff is very good, they will assist with anything from directions to the best entertainment areas to restaurants, you name it. Thank you to The Pratic Hotel staff. Job well done.

Hotel Pratic was at a great location on a quiet side street with a helpful staff. Here are a few things to consider about your stay in this hotel. The hotel has no elevator and about 7 or 8 floors, no outside visitors are allowed in your room, you turn your key in at the front desk when ever you go outside. The above list is not complaints simply information.

We took a night train to Paris, so we got there around 7AM. We wanted a map and other tourist information, but the information center was closed. We went to one of the hotels near the station and got a map and had decent buffet breakfast. We got to the hotel around 9AM and our room was happened to be ready. It was very nice of them to have let us check in that early. They are helpful and speak English well. The hotel has a good location - Close to the Metro, surrounded by a lot of restaurants and cafes. You can taka a very nice walk to Ile Saint-Louis, which we did every night. Our room was very quiet (If the room is facing to the street, it might be noisy.), but small - especially the bathroom. It's clean, but this is the smallest bathroom that I've ever seen. They put the curtain between the room and toilet (no door), so you might want to use the shared toilet occasionally. No elevator. It's part of European experience!

A very romantic hotel. It is located in the centre of of Paris with many little bars nearby and the Place de la Bastile not far away with many more bars. The next Metro station (St. Paul) is just a couple of steps away. Only three things that can be distracting: 1. The square where the hotel is located has some bars. So its nice to go out but it is not so quiet until midnight. 2. If you stay on the upper floors you have to climb some stairs as there is no elevator. 3. The rooms are very nice, but very small. Otherwise it is very romantic to stay there, I can only recomend it!
