Lift facility is not good as you need to climb stairs after exiting lift to reach your room. Rooms are not spacious and not so clean. Its too expensive for such a small room. Only good thing is that its opposite to Garde du Nord raliway station.

Apart from the fact that the lift wasnt working and I had a room on the 4th floor, I had a very good stay at the New Hotel. I was in Paris for 2 days on my way between London and Holland. I wanted to re-visit a restaurant in the Marais and see Monet's garden. I thought being close to the station I was arriving at and leaving from was the priority. The hotel is literally opposite the Gare du Nord, but my room was nice and quiet. As it turned out, my Marais restaurant was disappointing, and so the second night I had a lovely meal at the Maison Blanche which was just a few doors up from the New Hotel. The bars and restaurants in the area seem to be excellent, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that such good meals are available at little local bars and brasseries in this part of Paris. The Hotel reception organised my afternoon tour to Monet's garden. I was picked up from the hotel and brought back there at a reasonable cost. In the morning before I went on the tour, I walked up to Montmartre which is close by, and re-visited the beautiful Sacre Coeur and its surrounds. I was lucky to be given a larger room than the usual double at this hotel, and I was very pleased with my stay at the New Hotel. For a longer stay I would probably prefer to be in central Paris and have a hotel with a lift that worked, but for my purposes this time the New Hotel was excellent.

The hotel is in a gritty part of Paris, so while it's convenient to trains, it's not the best place to walk with kids. The bathroom was extremely dirty, and the shower was filthy, almost like it hadn't ever been cleaned. The staff was nice, and the room was spacious which is hard to find for families.

I expected an average hotel based on the price and it only just met that low standard. The check in man was very pleasant and helpful, however the overnight reception man was gruff and grumpy. The room is small but not too bad and is usual for Paris. Very old decor was expected. Bathroom dirty. No air conditioning and with open window was very noisy, however the location was perfect for early train. I only spent a short time actually in the room so in scheme if things it was all ok.

An excellent overnight stay for catching he Eurostar. Yes, it was noisy, but it didn't stop us getting a good night's sleep.

stayed in a delightfully refurbished room and facilities were as described. Breakfast could have been a little better. Overall a most pleasant experience and access to Gare du Nord was an added bonus.

The best is location in front of Gare du Nord. It is a modest hotel, but good enough for a couple of days stay.

A convenient hotel if you've arriving late or arriving early at the Gare du Nord, if you have an early flight from Charles de Gaulle (the Gare du Nord RER station is right across the street), or if you've arrived in Paris for the weekend via Eurostar or Thalys and want an affordable hotel near the station with good transportation to other areas of Paris. The hotel itself is nothing remarkable, but our fourth-floor double with shower was large, attractively furnished in a simple way, and equipped with mod cons such as free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. (One caveat: the elevator stops on landings between floors, so you'll need to haul your bags up a few steps to reach the floor that you've chosen.) The neighborhood isn't exciting--it consists mostly of the station, hotels, restaurants, and cafes--but both Montmartre and the St-Martin Canal are within easy walking distance.

Asked for superior room The only thing superior was the location at top of house in attic. Bathroom made use of toilet facilities very difficult. The staff were disinterested and poor.In former times it would have only been rented by the hour. Why Venere has it on its hotel lists beats me!! Awful even by Paris standards.
