Nowadays (Aug 09) it's quite hot there and the hotel air conditioning system is out of order. They didn't even accept to cancel my reservation. In jeer attitude, the young lady at the front desk argued that the price is already reduced considering the AC is broken. When you are making a reservation in a four stars hotel in Paris and willing to pay 140 Euros a day, you don't even ask if there is air conditioning in the room. The worst was the attitude of the employee. I would'n stay again in this hotel.

The "best price" was full rack rate, there is no lobby nor reception area, simply a hallway. This is a converted residential building, not a true "hotel". Rooms clean and well maintained, front desk is competent. The photos are of the hotel building, but the first floor is not a hotel reception nor lobby but an independent coffee shop. Breakfasts offered in the hotel basement are E12.00 per person. Rooms are good sizes for Paris (i.e. small but not cramped) and had a separate wet bar with refrigerator which came in handy. Rooms were stylish. We had a balcony which was essential.

Nice spacious room. There is no breakfast room but the breakfast served at the room was sufficient and very nicely presented. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location

Great location close to Beaubourg, Hotel de Ville and the Marais. Each floor has a different color scheme. We did not try the breakfast served in the room as there are great breakfast places all around. The rooms (and the bathrooms) are not large but very nicely furnished. Beware of checking in on a Sunday. People tend to check out late, therefore the rooms were not available until 2 PM

The staff were friendly and helpful from the start, the room was well appointed and although it had no view we were very happy with it. The hotel is situated in a lovely part of Paris, very accessible by metro and not too far to walk from the RER station (Chatalet - Les Halles). It is very close to the historic heart of Paris and surrounded by lots of cafes and restaurants. We'll be back!

Very nice hotel, good location, close to the Metro. The hotel room was beautiful and clean and the staff was very helpful. If we ever get to Paris again, we will probably be staying at Villa Mazarin again.

A very nice updated room, clean, comfortable and plenty of room, especially for Paris. My room was on the outside corner of the building, room 23 I believe. The area isn't very noisy at night though so I didn't have any problems with street noise. The reception area isn't anything special but I don't really care about that anyway. The staff were very helpful, even with a special restaurant research project. Overally a very pleasant stay and worth the money, I would visit again for sure.

Although Villa Mazarin was renovating its ground floor we did not have any noise from that. During the weekend there was no work going on so we only noticed it upon check in on the Friday! Very friendly staff upon checkin and during our stay, although sometimes we had to wait a while at the desk as there is only 1 receptionist available and you always have to leave your key when you leave the hotel. No problem ofcourse but when they are attending other guests it would be nice to leave the key in a box on the desk or something like that! We did not have breakfast in the hotel as there are many restaurants and bakeries in the surrounding area where you can have a lovely breakfast for around the same price or cheaper. The room was beautiful, very nice colours, quite spacious (not very large but not small either), coffee and tea facilities were nice to have when you come back from a long day walking around in the city. Nice bath and shower only the technician should check the room more often as we had trouble with the shower head and the bath stop. We reported this at the desk but there was no technician available during the weekend. Strange as it is always quite busy in the hotel during the weekends! We think it is a very nice hotel, great location and we would definitely go back when we visit Paris again!

Everything for our honeymoon was perfect. The hotel was clean and quiet. They are remodeling the public areas by the lobby, yet while in the rooms, we had no problems with dust or noise. Everyone at the front desk was exceptionally helpful, friendly, kind, informative, and pleasant. Our room, 55, was a lovely 2-story with a balcony...spacious, clean, comfortable, and perfect. The hotel is very centally located and the Marais is fabulous; nice people, good food, plenty of museums and and close proximity to the Metro. I highly recommend the Italian restaurant down the side street (Pizza Santa Antonio) should you tire of rich French fare. We hope to return to Paris soon, and would, most assuredly, stay at the Villa Mazarin again.
Buisiness
Germany, Mar 2007
The Hotel was relatively easy to find. Although it is in a side entrance of the caffee shown in the pictures. The rooms are very comfortable but during night voices and footsteps out from the street can be heard. For people with a weak sleep not the best choice. The bathroom was comfortable as well. Unfortunately the cleaner oversaw the toothpaste from the guest before on the toilet cover. It resided there even the second day. Towels are a bit smelly of chlorine. We didn't order the breakfast as it would be served in the hotel room for an extra charge of 12 Euro. Down the street is a nice and fency caffee where a great selection of fresh bread for relatively low charge is beeing offered. But besides the few negative points we had a pleasant stay in the hotel and would recommend it further.

My Overall Stay Rating and Prices Quoted numbers would have been 9 or 10 but I had similar experiences as others posting here that had an effect on an otherwise wonderful stay. Most of the staff was courteous and helpful, with the exception of the one woman who seemed helpful in the beginning (our room wasn't ready so she let us put our bags in a storage room) but upon checking out quite offended me by accusing me of trying to get out of paying for something I "know I have to pay for", in her words. The web site was misleading in both the breakfast and Shuttle. When we checked in I specifically asked the man there to clarify that breakfast was included and he said it wasn't. I told him of the web site and that we had booked it specifically thinking that it WAS included and he said he would go ahead and include it, or so I thought. (There is no dining room, so they deliver breakfast to your room for the usual cost of 12euro.) When we checked out, I questioned the charges for the breakfast that were on the bill as I thought they had been dismissed on the first day and was brusquely accused by Madame as she thrust a printout in front of me with something about breakfast in French in handwriting across the bottom as if to prove that she was right. We were on a time schedule and I couldn't stay, so I just paid the charges and left. Also, my friend inquired about the free airport shuttle she thought she saw on the web site and was told that it was not free but one was booked for her, 6euro to the Hotel and around 20euro for the shuttle. Mr. Tomas IS great and found another room when a friend arrived in town, is very personable and speaks 10 languages. Very safe neighborhood and within walking distance to many attractions and main Metro Station. We also booked this Hotel because it is entirely non-smoking...refreshing for a change.

In a great, central location, this was a very clean and very modern property, with really nice rooms. There are many nearby eateries, and good shopping - about a mile from The Louvre.

Should not have to pay for high speed Internet. ALso, on hotel description it alluded to a free shuttle pickup, which we discovered was non-existant. Also said breakfast was included which turned out not to be the case. They called a cab and when it got there the meter had already totalled 18 euros, which the cab driver said was standard practice?! If so, the hotel should have let us know.

Camere graziose e molto pulite se pur piccole. Un po' rumoroso ma il Marais è molto frequentato di giorno e di notte. Ci ritornerò.

Recently (Apr'05) rebuild, this small hotel has clean, modern (TFT TV + Internet WiFi) and spaciuos rooms very dificult to find in so convinient city location. Staff is very friendly: Ask Mr. Tomas, recepcionist speaking fluently several languages and with a great knowledge of art & museums (its alter job is Louvre guide). Wonderful quality/price ratio.

The hotel was beautiful- very clean, and very spacious especially for a room in Europe. The staff also spoke English very well. The only problem was with venere.com itself- when searching for a room in Paris, I entered that there were to be 4 in the room. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were told that they were not insured for 4 people in each room and that we would need to get an additional room. The staff worked with us by charging us a discounted rate for the rooms, but I would recommend calling the hotel yourself to verify the number of people allowed in each room.

Best boutique hotel I have ever stayed in. Much better and more luxuirous than many big name chains.
