Rooms in the courtyard building are really quite enough, but some reconstruction seems to be really necessary (especially bathroom). All the hotel employees are really kind and helpfull. The same breakfast everyday is clueless. Excellent location to operate central Paris by foot.

A good place to stay for three or four nights. The receptionists very friendly and prepared, the cleanliness of the room is satisfying. Good position: in the middle between la Gare du Nord and the Operà, in twenty minutes walk you are in the best places in Paris.

The doors of the little bathrooms in Hotels in Paris are realy a problem...you can`t realy close them. But the garden and the quitness...wonderfull! And the hotel is not far away from Gare de l`Est/Nord, Gare de Lyon, Montmartre and the Louvre. You don`t need am Metroticket...you can walk!

Went to Paris for 6 days for a holiday. The hotel was quite nice, small, but that's what we expected. It was nice to have breakfast served in the morning. Family friendly - travelled with infant. However, was not happy with two single beds together in place of the doube we ordered!!

There is free Wifi internet (by cell-phone/Computer) in the hotel and only the internet in the lobby is charged. Note that there are 2 wings in the hotel: one with an elevator and one without (a very very small one) and as the hotel has a few floors you should consider asking for the elevator wing if necessary. The wing with the elevator also has rooms turning to a small street while the rooms in the other wing turn only to the garden and are much quieter (we stayed in 2 different rooms as we went out of Paris for a few days and checked in again to a different room). The rooms space seemed standard to a 2 star hotel in a big city. It is important to mention that the rooms we've stayed in were renovated (LCD TV, new shower etc). There is also a minibar that you can use to cool your drinks in the summer. The hotel is full of mirrors (a bathroom in one of the rooms we stayed was an actual "mirror room") - we thought that it was cool, but we can understand why people may find it disturbing. The best way to get to the hotel from CDG Airport is not to the RER station mentioned - ask information/look in the map where to switch from the RER to the Metro in the city (I think Gare Nord station) and get to a Metro station called "Cadet" - 2 min from the hotel (and a straight line to the Louvre as well). WE RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL, it is very nice, great location (close to Sacre Coeur) and perfect for the price.

Great location and value. Stayed here for 2 nights and thought that it was a great spot from which to explore Paris. There isn't much to keep you in the hotel but the rooms are pretty decent and well kept and I'd imagine it'd be hard to find a hotel as good value in so good a location.

The hotel is only a couple of minute's walk to Cadet Metro station and 10-15 minutes walk to Montmartre or Gare Du Nord. It is located in a typical Parisian street with a number of eating places nearby. Our room and en suite were small but adequate. Just ignore all the mirrors. The double bed was actually larger than expected. The lift can only accommodate one person and one suitcase at a time. The hotel is well located for public transport. However, if we were considering staying again, we would like to think that the breakfasts had been improved. Perhaps some cereals and fruit could be added to the roll and croissant which was provided every day.

This hotel was in a superb location, and it was very easy to access just about anywhere in Paris from the close by metro and buses. If you're up to walking then it's not too far from lots of attractions - and very close to the huge Galleries Lafayette for those who like to shop! The rooms we had (a double for my husband and I, and a single for my octogenarian grandma) were on the small side but then again so are all rooms in Paris...but as we just used the hotel as a base they were perfectly adequate. Everything was clean and tidy, and although there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, the staff were only too happy to provide us with pots of tea/coffee at a decent 2 euros each - and I challenge anyone to find a cuppa (let alone a big pot) at these rates anywhere else in Paris! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel had lots of areas for guests to sit and while away the odd half hour or so - I think the garden area would be lovely to sit in when the weather gets better too. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visting Paris looking for something a little quirky and charming, rather than another generic brand hotel. I would also like to recommend a restaurant called 'Restaurant St Michael' just south of the river from Pont Neuf (heading towards Notre Dame) for a wonderful french menu at good prices and with lovely friendly staff.

We stayed here for 2 nights in Dec 08 on a short trip to Paris. The hotel has a rather quirky interior... someones obviously told them that mirrors make rooms look bigger as these are a major feature of the hotel. Our bathroom was entirely mirrored and I do mean totally! not a room for someone with body image issues. The lift was a really old fashioned tiny cage lift which we loved. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable, we heard no noise at all, there were plenty of additional blankets / pillows and the heating worked well. The room had a mini bar which was well stocked (expensive as you would expect) and in room safe which was only 1euro per day to use. The breakfast was adequate nothing to shout about but filled the gap (tea/coffee fruit juice croissant and a bread roll). The location was great we walked to alot of the major tourist sites easily (louve, concorde, montmarte, sacre coeur, opera house) and the nearest tube station was literally 2 minutes walk. There were lots of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby (I'd recommeded the little Italian place on the corner of the road - we had a 3 course set meal for 14euros) Overall this was a great place to stay, accomodation was the standard you would expect from 2* but the quirky features of the hotel make it an interesting place to stay. The rooms were a little shabby and the outside doesn't look the best but it was clean and welcoming inside and the location made it a great base for a first time visitor to explore the city.

I have been there for a couple of days, and It was a very pleasant stay. It's a 2 star hotel, so you won't expect the concierge as welcoming, but the atmosphere is relaxing and quaint even the room was not really spacious (good choice to put mirrors throughout the hotel, that let feel it more wide, but probably there were too many in the room).Perfect for a short holiday. Breakfast with room service was included in the rent!!! I never had breakfast in the breakfast room, so I don't know if might be any difference in the selection and varieties of food and beverages, but was enough having coffee, bread, butter and jam, juice and one very good croissant.

We are young couple. We stay in double room. The hotel is very near to centre. The room was very small but it is Paris standard, but it was clean and quiet. We were in last floor with view to synagoga. The hotel look very familiar and friendly and also staff was very friendly and helpful. It is very romantic hotel full with mirrors. Just one thing wasn't good - some of mirrors were broken and it looks dangerous for example for kids. In every case we were very satisfied and we enjoy stay in this hotel and probably we would use again when we will travel to Paris.

A cockroach on a towel, a guy at 10 AM who tried to clean out our room without knocking just entering, a bit cold, non-working electric socket. Surroundings are great, metro nearby, not far from Gare du Nord, small hotel with a home atmosphere. Breakfast is included, that's good and handy. Rooms are not really nice while they are ok for 1 night stay. We could not have lived there more.

We have been at Villa Fenelon in November and I have to say that it was a small room but clean, the breakfast in the room every morning was quite good. In general, the hotel is very good even if it needs reparations in the room (walls, beds, furniture). As about the price I think that it was a little expensive. The hotel is in an excellent location, reasonable walking distance to St Michel and le Marais, in a quiet side street and 2 minutes from the tube station. Reception area, decorated in a 1900s style is warmly lit and spacious. Staff are welcoming and helpful. The lift seems 'd'epoque' and consequently too small to be practical but we used it only once. The room was reasonably spacious although for longer stay wardrobe space would be tight. The window was double glazed and the room was warm and quiet. The room was clean but showed signs of wear and tear particularly the bathroom. Last but not least, the price was decent. We had an excellent stay and will certainly go back.

Villa Fenelon was in a good location, extremely close to the metro, in a quiet side street. The reception area was very pleasant, and the interior courtyard garden charming. Staff were friendly and helpful: something one does not always find in Paris. The breakfast was good value, although the decor in the breakfast room rather tired and consequently looked slightly grubby. Our triple room with bath was more spacious than other rooms I have shared with my kids in Paris, but the decor was poor. It did not seem dirty, but looked grubby as it desperately needed to be redecorated. The tiles in the bathroom were in need of replacement. However, my girls and I felt that overall the hotel had a quirky Parisian charm that outweighed the standard of the decor in parts of the building. On departure day, I had the chance to see a couple of other vacant rooms: again they were quite spacious by Parisian hotel standards and they had obviously been redecorated much more recently. I suspect we were unlucky and that the triple room my be the next on the list for refurbishment - but I did not actually ask the staff if this were the case. The price for a room of this standard in this area seemed fair; it was only a 2 star after all. My daughters preferred it to a much smarter 2 star in the Quartier Latin, which had lost character through modernisation and had much smaller rooms and poky shower rooms. If you haven't got a lot of money to spend, want to show the kids Paris and don't intend to spend a lot of time in your hotel room anyway, Villa Fenelon is a good choice for 3/4 nights max.

Excellent value for money & included breakfast, it felt like a little bit of old Paris with some lovely original features including the single person lift which was gorgeous. My single room was great, modern style, nice white bathroom with hairdrier and clean towels every day, clean and comfortable room with TV and handy fridge. I also found the mirrors strange, how they kept them sparkling l don't know. It was quiet and central near 2 Metro's, it was lovely having breakfast in the garden. l would recomend it to anyone looking for a nice budget hotel in a perfect spot for getting to all the sights. We could get a reasonable price for last minutue booking including breakfast(some bread, orange juice and hot drink). We booked two triple rooms; one was big enough with 1 double bed and single bed and another was small with 1 double bed and 1 extra bed. The rooms are a bit worn out, but clean. Difficult to find the road, even on Paris street map, but delightful oasis -- we had rooms across a garden, and breakfasted outside. Lovely big room and bathroom, though mirrored surfaces a bit frightening!

The hotel was very centrally located. The decor is quite Bohemian I guess a little shabby but kinda goes with the BOHO mood. A lovely garden to relax in after the long day sightseeing which was great. The lift has to be experienced. About the size of a phone booth and a tight squeeze for two girlies with small backpacks but it worked everytime! Rooms a little bigger than I expected. The room was clean and well serviced. The bathroom was a little antiquated could do with upgrade. Shower head was a little tricky but water pressure and temp good. Did I mention the mirrors lots of mirrors in rooms, lobby, garden they do like their mirrors. The breakfast was included and we ate in the garden each morning. Breakfast consisted of breadrolls, croissants and preserves with coffee/tea /chocolate and juice very nice. It is also not far to walk up to Sacre Ceour, neither to Notre Dame and Louvren. The little garden is nice to sit in while eating breakfast. I do recommend other travellers to stay in this hotel, you get a lot for the money, breakfast is not usually included in the hotelprice in Paris. Also take a short walk to Grands Boulevard, here you find nice and cheap restaurants, little further down against Les Halles are even more restaurants on the street Montorgueil.

Good location, clean and good relation price - quality. The only thing I didn´t like was the service. I got really sick in Paris and I had to go to the hospital, they couldn´t care less. I needed medications, and asked for help, and they didn´t help at all, they didn´t even asked how I was feeling, maybe I just needed some simpathy and I didn´t get it, so I think the service was poor. But that has nothing to do with the Hotel rooms. I would recommend it to couples and budget travelers.

The rooms @ Hotel Fenlon are not so clean for people with allergies, especially in their carpeted rooms, I asked for a room with no carpets due to my allergies, the rooms with caprpets are really dusty, and the curtains are even worse, also the top blankets looked as they had never washed them stained and very old, one suggestion would be for them to re-furbish the whole hotel, the furniture in the hotel is old and not at all what is in the avertisement they put online. The tub was plugged for all of our stay, and they have mirrors on the doors and closet doors, I cut my finger several times due to the mirror on the doors are broken. The hotel overall would be great once cleaned up and the mirrors taken care of also their plumbing needs work, along with clean linen

The small hotel with its French charm and its very nice staff makes you feel like being at home. The rooms are very nice and the public areas which include a small peacefull garden are nice places to have a break after a long day discovering the city. Very well located, you can reach two metro stations, different lines, in 5 minutes, or should you want to walk Paris and discover its beautiful streets, the hotel is located so you can do your walk to La Madeleine, the Louvre, La Place de la Concorde, Les Champs Elysees and the Montmartre area, in question of minutes. The hotel was exactly as described on the venere website. My room was small but adequate. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The facility was clean the staff was very helpful. The location of Villa Fenelon was excellent and close to the metro. I will use Villa Fenelon again and recommend it to my associates and friends.

I arrived at 2 o'clock in the night without any late time waringnm after only the online booking and they welcomed me without any problem. The hotel have the smallest elevator I have ever seen in my life, and the room had mirrors on every wall, a bit too much for me..

Nice place full of mirrors, may be a bit too many in the bathroom. The lift is way toooo small. Apart from this the place is worth its price and is quite close to the centre. Helpful staff and comfortable.

We really enjoyed discovering Paris and staying at Villa Fenelon. We took into account that our choice is only **hotel and in Paris, so we get agreeably surprised about friendly staff, warm atmosphere, cosy interior, clean rooms and an excelent location. If you only do not need posh spaciousness, we greatly recommend to stay there!!

Hotel Villa Fenelon is not very good. Bed clothes were stinky and my room (18) was very noisy, in fact I could heard all the times that people went to the bathroom. The only good thing at the hotel was that Underground station (Cadet) was really near but I did not like neighbourhood.

This was a very good hotel, because you get a lot for your money. The relationship between price/quality was superb! The rooms were quiet, the personal very friendly! We liked the stylish lift very much and there was uncomplicate internet access 24h. The rooms were small but enough space, if you are not very demandingly. The hotel is located in a one way street, so the noise of the city was very low. Generally the hotel was located near the center and the metro station "Cadet" was only 2 minutes to walk. From Cadet there are only 2 or 3 station to the center and 2 stations to gare de l'est. I recommend very much that hotel - thx!

A charming hotel with pleasant staff. Lift a little scary at times so I used the dtairs a lot. Breakfast adequate for my needs. My only complaint was the tv channels - French (which I like), German (which i don;'t understand) and pornographic (yuck!). An english/american news channel would have been nice and I am sure Italian, Spanish would be welcomed by other guests. Location very good - walking distance from Gare du Nord and in my fav arrondissement

Our stay was okay, the rooms were dated and with no lift carrying 4 big suitcases up a narrow winding staircase was not ideal. Next time we would look for another hotel.

for the price you pay, the offering is very basic. The communal areas are nice and cosy, but the rooms are decorated very cheaply. I'd say the rate is 20 euros overpriced, just to give you an idea. The location, though, is very convenient.

breakfast included, staff was helpful, though room was very small (as should be expected for paris); hotel location is decent and in a fairly nice area - by cadet station, which is a few stops from the main louvre - champs-elysee district. a *relatively* decent price for the location.

The hotel has a garden that neutralizes the monotonous ambience of a big city like Paris. Except for the dining room that was assigned to me, everything was almost perfect. The hotel clerk were excellent and can speak more than just French. Because of the situated location, I was able to see my friends who live nearby.I will go back to stay there, and I recommend this Hotel Fenelon for all who needs a tranquil area in the city of Paris.

The lift was quite small that can only house one person per ride. It was quite inconvenient to move the luggage in 2 to three times from ground floor to the floor you stay. There was some dirt on the carpet and not sufficient toilet paper in the room. The safety box was too small that can only store the passport only. However, the location was great that it only takes 2 mins walk from metro to hotel. And it was quite convenient to go to nearby shopping malls such as Lafayett Galleries on foot within 15 mins.

A great base to see Paris from. In a quiet side street with a courtyard garden, this hotel is both comfortable and relaxing. While a bit worn in places, it is nicely decorated in a period style and the staff are both friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed our stay there over 5 nights. Also breakfast was good and they make great coffee.

Wonderful friendly helpful staff. Great location across from the Cadet Market. Walking distance to Galeries Lafayette and Boulevard de Montmartre.Nice room, clean, window overlooking the courtyard, bathroom and shower were larger than mine at home, mirrored walls, old fashioned fixtures, draperies all made for a very charming room. I could hear no noise and was very pleased.

Wonderful hosts at the Villa Fenelon, we arrived very early by train and had a room to drop our bags while we went to sightsee. The front desk people were very helpful on areas and directions. Breakfast was included, juice, coffee, crossants and biscuits with jelly, but we liked that this was included, which doesn't seem typical in Paris. Double room was large and comfotable, although the bed comforter had seen better days. We would absoulutely stay here again, great value for Paris!

I expected a "typicall hotel in Paris", and I received it. Together with my daughter we planned to stay in Paris for a couple of days and to visit as much as possible. We wanted to be able to come back, after a long and tiring day, to our nice and comfortable room and to have contact with nice and helpful people. We are fully satisfied with our stay (regardless some small, really small inconveniences).

The Villa Fenelon is a very good choice for the budget traveler. It is on a quiet street in the office/business 9th arrondissement near the Cadet Metro stop. Within walking distance of L'Opera where the Roissy bus from CDG airport stops. I had a single room on 1st floor (2nd in US) with French windows that overlooked the inner courtyard garden. Not exactly but very similar to the picture shown on website. Staff very helpful and spoke several languages. French breakfast included in the daily fee and served on silver trays in room at no extra charge or in one of the two dining areas downstairs with the morning papers. Easy place to meet your fellow travelers. Internet access in lobby for small charge. Very good value.

It is true..the phrase "shabby chic" is what comes to mind. We found the hotel a little bit old but finally nice and really well located..it seems like an old aunt house...anyway, really warm and familiar atmosphere. The service is very good, breakfast is included in price and it is not so common in Paris. The room was comfortable, clean and good-sized.We definitly cannot asked more for that price...

Overall, a good experience, not named as an hotel as such, lovely reception area, perhaps over done, given that the room we stayed in was "outside", ie a converted room which originally wasn't part of the main building, you had to wlk outside into a courtyard area and excess the room! The price "rack" rate was 111 Euro, not worth that by a long shot, but we got it via Venere for 60 Euro!
