A wonderful place right in the heart of St Martin... and it is very quite considering where it is.. One of those 'special' places.
Australia, Jul 2009
We stayed in a suite, which had luxurious furnishings. The location of the hotel was great, and staff were professional, competent and courteous. However for a hotel in this price range there was a lot to be desired. The mattresses were painfully hard, there was no pillow menu, no coffee making facilities in the room, the television was out of the 1970s, toiletries were not replaced daily (or even after several days), no ironing board and iron in room, room lighting was so dim it was difficult to read. And worst of all, the air-conditioning was either freezing or off - there was no option to alter the temperature even though there were individual controls in rooms; they were turned off. If you didn't want to freeze, the a/c had to be turned off, which isn't great in summer in Paris. Couldn't open the windows for fresh air as there is a noisy street outside, right next to an Irish pub.

Sehr zentral gelegen.

Hotel was not the deluxe suite expectd but a single room which needed to be updated. Very noisy during the night because of construction which didn't allow a good sleep. Very expensive for what the hotel offered.

What a wonderful small hotel in a fascinating area. It exceeded our expectations and we (4 of us) had a wonderful experience, enhanced by the friendly and helpful hotel staff. we will certainly return next time we go to Paris. The 1 mark for photographs related to the left to right reversal of the exterior view. Not a major factor, but why?

The hotel is excellent, but I think the breakfast shoud be included in the price.

This is an older property. The lobby isn't anything special. The room was very nice but with no view. You need to realize the hotel is located a 1/2 block from the Seine. So you need to go out to have a view. The bathroom was very nice. The young ladies who greeted us were very nice and accomodating. Then over the weekend there were 2 gentlemen that were the concierges. They were ok. I felt the women were friendlier. We never ate at their restaurant but it looked crowded.. The area the hotel is in is fabulous. It reminded us of Greenwich Village in NYC, USA.. Small streets with lots of cafe's, bistros and art galleries. The hotel is also very close to a lot of fantastic sights in Paris

Wonderful place. Quaint but comfortable, offers modern amenities, including a safe. Lots of history - named after Gabrielle d'Estrees who was Henry IVth's concubine and apparently lived across the street. Lots of history on the walls of the lobby unfortunately for us non-French speakers only in French but staff all spoke English and were very helpful. Good security, great location, surprisingly quiet in the rooms. Staff helped us get a ride from and to the airport before we even arrived; they could not change money but directed us properly. Overall great!

We absolutely loved the hotel. It's location near St. Michel was a neighborhood we are very familiar with and a neighborhood that offers a multitude of dining, attractions, retail, transportation and wonderful walking in historic areas–only a few minutes walk to Notre Dame, Hotel DeVille, Musee D'orsay and more. The hotel is a little pricey at about 350 euros a night, but Venere.com saved us over 100 euros off their normal rate, so we paid only about 236 euros, which was a blessing.

We ordered a Suite deluxe, and was given a very ordinary double room. The only thing that was like a "suite" was the price.

The staff at the hotel were excellent, especially Clement who guided us to the hotel as my sense of direction is not very good! He was very helpful with reservations for restaurants. The hotel was just as it was described. I loved it and would stay there again.

Our stay over the easter weekend was brilliant. The service provided was very good. The location was also very good. We had a metro, supermarket, bank and post office within 1 minutes walk. We were also able to walk everywhere due to the excellent location. I would definately recommend this hotel. What we thought was a lovely gesture was them giving us a lovely Easter egg + choclates on easter sunday!

The hotel has an excellent location within walking distance to Notre Dame, the Louvre, numerous cafes, resteraunts and shops. It is also close to the metro and RER stops. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was very nice.

It was very expensive for the service. I enjoyed the size of the room which was clean and spacious (especially by Paris standards). There was only one person on duty to buzz in guests, and advice was given grudgingly. Next time, I will trade their larger room for another place with better service and advice.

this place is great -- centrally located, small, very comfortable, and extremely friendly service. huge comfortable bed, good water pressure in a spacious bathroom (not always the case in paris). couldn't have been happier -- we'll be back.

We will come back! This was a fabulous hotel and location, friendly helpful english speaking staff. King bed a huge plus , comfy too, good size bathroom and closet, the shower curtain hangs above the tub and gets the floor wet, we got creative with some needle and thread and fixed the problem, they just need a longer shower curtain, this is my only complaint, breakfast in the room was so convenient and pleasant, 2 large windows open to the small street below, great reastaurants all around and fun shopping. Get your metro passes at the Odeon metro station, they aren't available at the St Michel station. Thursday nite starts the weekend so be prepared for 4 nights of late night fun and lively youthful people walking the streets. Bring earplugs no matter where you choose to stay. Make sure you get to Cafe Fleur for the special hot chocolate, have lunch in the Eiffel Tower (Jules Verne) and dinner in the Montparnasse Tower (Le Ciel de Paris) reservations are a must! make them before you leave town. The Metro trains all reach their final destinations by 1:15am. Visit Giverny by train and rent bikes to make the journey, make sure you ride on the bike path above the busy 2 lane Hwy. Paris is full of english speaking friendly people, greet them and ask if they speak english in French and you'll go far!

I stayed here with my husband to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, and the hotel couldn't have been more perfect! The room was spacious, clean, big comfortable bed and lovely bathroom (though the bath was a bit small!). I slept like a rose, the windows had double glazing, and by closing them, the noise from the streets was also virtually shut out. (Though we were there with 30C, so it wasn't really nice having to close the windows). The breakfast had to be enjoyed in their lobby (it is only a small hotel, part of its allure), which was a bit odd at first, but we sat very comfortable and the breakfast was good. There was also the option to have breakfast in your own room. Breakfast was 8 Euro, and considering you have the best coffee bars & bakeries surrounding the area, we opted to have our second breakfast outside (cheaper and more choice!). The best thing though was its location: spot in the middle of quartier Latin with all its restaurants, bars and antique shops. All the best museums were also at easy walking distance: the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Musee Cluny, and of course the Notre Dame. We got an extremely good deal through this website, paying much less than their official room prices. So for what we paid, the price / quality relationship was very good. If I can get the same deal, I will definitely come back to this hotel again!

This is a beautiful little hotel with an unbelievable location--walked everywhere and only needed to take the Metro twice! The rooms are indeed bigger than the usual in Paris and exquisitely decorated. Your pictures exactly portrayed the rooms. And oh by the way, there is a wonderful tiny restaurant just to the left of the hotel that was fabulous. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends visiting Paris!

This place is a gem. Great location in the heart of the latin quarter 1 block from the Siene. The rooms were large, beautifully decorated, clean and well maintained. Great bathrooms. Pascal, the hotel manager and his staff were very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this place.
