The location is very close to the metro. 20 euro taxi ride away from the north train station. But the room looks old and the carpet has a smell. The hotel has a very small elevator like those in old time movies. But the people speak good English and ready to help you with traveling tips.

This was my first stay in Paris and I am very glad that I chose this hotel. The staff was pretty nice, new english well and the location was strategic. I would recommend this hotel to people who would like to travel and see a lot from Paris and at the same time do not want to pay high rates for hotels in the city center.

I can't believe just how thin the walls were. I got to hear my neighbors yell at each other, discussed where to go for dinner, and have sex. And I'm a rather heavy sleeper. I liked the hotel -- it was a little out of the way, but it was nice, but I wouldn't stay again without a prescription for sleeping pills.

Very close to the Metro and Central. Excellent. Staff friendly and helpful even though we had little French and the manager on duty had little English. Left a painting at your hotel and cellphone at nearby restuarant L'olivier. Both recovered during special return trip. What wonderful honesty and integrity. Can someone thank the restuarant too? Wonderful stay and will recommend to our friends. Regards "GV" Price

Everything is absolutely perfect. Newly rennovated, including windows, corridors and bathroom. Clean, neat, convenient bed, close to the metro. All the equipment worked. Have never tried breakfast though, as decided to have it outside. Staff friendly, English speaking. Hotel is perfect for tourists who come to explore Paris without spending too much time inside the hotel room. Three negative things: very small rooms (this is usual for old buildings in Paris), too thin walls (also usual problem), little noisy (traffic) outside. But these three has not bothered us at all: we only slept and had shower in the hotel, in the morning kept the window closed and it protected from the street sounds very well. And we were lucky to have calm neighbours.

I was searching online for a hotel in Paris when I stumbled on Terminus Orleans. The price was so reasonable, it sounded too good to be true. I read many reviews on many different travel sights and all reviews were good. My husband and I just returned from a ten-night stay at the Terminus Orleans in Paris and we couldn't be happier. Directions from the airport were so easy to follow - we came up the stairs from the Metro and the hotel was just a few steps away! All members of the staff spoke English, and were always friendly and helpful. The elevator was very tiny, but got us where we wanted to go. Our room was also small but very clean and we certainly didn't come to Paris to sit in our hotel room! The shower was really tiny, but we always had plenty of hot water and clean towels. Our room was on the 7th floor with a small balcony overlooking the street below. With the windows and draperies closed it was very quiet. We loved the neighborhood feel with a crepe stand right out front, coffee shops, bars, restaurants, grocery store, bakery. The metro, tram, and bus were just steps away and we could get wherever we wanted to go in Paris within minutes. We would definitely return to the Terminus Orleans ourselves and would highly recommend it to others.

When I travel for holidays, I do not have much requests in terms of the hotel rooms as I do not plan to spend there much time. While my room was small (I had no problem with that!), it was also clean and quiet (very important things for me). The staff was nice and friendly, and I had a delicious crepe every morning from the stand outside the hotel entrance. It is true that the hotel is not central, but the metro is so close that I did not mind it at all! I'll definitely go back for my next visit to Paris.

Absolutely fantastic experience. I was very hesitant going into my weekend at Terminus Orleans because I knew it was somewhat south of the city center. It could not have worked out better. The hotel is right outside of a metro stop which you can take to an array of central locations and then transfer. I learned that in Paris, more often than not you are transferring between metros so it was really not a problem. Yes it took a little bit longer to get places, but that really was no problem. At most we sat on the metro for 20 minutes. Hotel was clean and so accommodating, they even moved our room up to a higher floor after originally placing us on the first. We saved a lot of money and accessed everything perfectly. We left early in the morning and returned late at night. Great for a weekend trip for people who are flexible and are not demanding of a central location. Great shops around the neighborhood for pastries, coffee and even some drinks next door. For the price it could not be better. Great!

Room was spacious & very clean. Staff was nice and professionnal. The surroundings are fine, not much to do around the hotel but with the underground on the doorstep you are 15 minutes from Montparnasse, 20 minutes from the center of Paris and 25 minutes from Gare du Nord. I have not tested the breakfast but generally in Paris it is cheaper and better to get something from a boulangerie. Overall very nice stay, I recommand this hotel and will return.

I stayed for a week in March. The hotel is comfortable and all the staff are very friendly. I had the breakfast a few times(one roll, one croissant one orange juice, natural yoghurt, pot of fresh coffee). The price seems high but it as comparable with cafes (including Starbucks) in the area. My room was compact, on the 7th floor, with a good view over the road junction. There is no shortage of places to eat in the vicinity from Submarine and KFC to a prize winning restaurant in Rue de Friant behind the hotel block. Unfortunately, the crepe stand - much recommended by reviewers- outside the hotel was closed during my stay. As other reviewers have noted, trams, buses( no.38) and the Metro are all within a few strides of the hotel. The bus route takes you passed the Catacombs, the Luxembourg Gardens, down Boulevard St. Michel to the Latin Quarter.

The hotel was clean and tidy, in fact much better than I expected. I have stayed in many 2 star hotels in this area and this is by far the best. The rooms were good the bathroom were clean all very good. Recommended for those visiting this area of Paris. I would certainly stay there again.

Big rooms (for Paris), quiet, on one of the main metro lines that crosses the entire city so no need to change from the station to the hotel (20 mins from Gare de l'Est). Interesting area of quality brands and small shops, good brasseries and restaurants within walking distance.

Very good relationship between price and quality. Of course is not enough for people with high requirements. If you are going to treat it only as place to sleep between next Paris tours, choice is excellent. Hotel is next to metro station and is covered by free wifi network. Next time I will stay here for sure.

It was ok for the price and very conveniently located just in front of the tramway station that took me every day to work at Porte de Versailles in just 10 minutes. I might come again next year. Only concern is that free wifi in the rooms has very low reception, at least in my room.

My 16 year old daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel was very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was great with plenty of restaurants and a fantastic crepe truck outside the place. The hotel is very close(steps away) from the Port Orleans metro stop. It only took 20 minutes to the Eiffel Tower and the line takes you directly to the center of Paris. I originally thought we would be too far away but I needed a reasonable price on my budget. The distance was never an issue. We travelled for 3 weeks and stayed in youth hostels and two star hotels. This was by far the best two star hotel we stayed in. If you are a budget traveler this place is worth considering.

The staff are excellent and very helpful. The room is a bit small, but it has all items a traveller would need. The bathroom is also small, but spotless. The rooms located facing Bvd. Brune are noisy (just close shut the window and it would be OK). You can find all you need in the neighbourhood: supermarkets, cybercafés, cheap restaurants etc. The metro is at the doorstep. Those coming via Orly airport, just catch Orlybus (cheaper) and alight at “Tombe Issoire” – it’s five minutes walking to the hotel.

Rooms are very small but clean, employees are very friendly and helpful, we arrived around midnight- was no problem at all, we had a room facing the backyard so it was rather quiet, for breakfast we prefered the boulangerie. Its right beside the underground station in a non touristic area, two things we really appreciated.

My third stay at this hotel (check my old reviews for detailed info). I visit Paris regularly for business and so far this one has been the only hotel I have returned to. Very good location. Subway line 4 and tramway line 3 stations are literally within a stone's throw. There was some renovation going on but the work never bothered me during the stay. The weakest link for this hotel is probably the TV broadcast in the room. A handful of French channels with one Italian, one German and one Spanish thrown in for good measure. Perhaps they will work on that and provide a couple of channels in English. However given that they have free wireless service the TV issue is just a tiny chink in the shiny armor. Good value. Strongly recommended.

This was our first time in Paris and we were very happy with the Hotel, it was right next to the metro and extremely clean and comfortable, our room was at the back of the hotel so it was very quiet, however rooms at the front get a lot of noise from the traffic. The area round the hotel was great, lots of restuarants and patissaries and shops. We loved Paris and would definately stay here again!

We arrived and room was not ready so we got an upgraded room in the hotel next door which they owned. It was small but lovely. It is further out of town but transportation was a few steps away so very easy. The staff were very friendly and helpful with fluent English. If you want to eat cheaply we recommend going to the St Micheal area were they have a full menu for 10 Euro. We would stay again.

Our first time in Paris for 40 years. It was easy to find on Metro u/ground in suburban rather than tourist end of the city. Reception staff were welcoming, patient, very helpful. Room and en suite were clean with fresh towels every day. Reception recommended we try a local restaurant which was equally welcoming with excellent food and reasonable prices. We ate a continental breakfast there each morning. Service was friendly, always more oj or coffee on offer. Will stay there again if there is an opportunity to do so.

This hotel is a great value in Paris. It's a bit further out than I would have preferred, but there's a Metro stop just out the front door, good restaurants right there, and a pharmacy across the street. Montsouris Park is down the street one way and the Vanves flea market is down the other way. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. The showers have great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The one real drawback for me was that it was very noisy. We heard everything that went on outside the walls of our room. We were across from the elevator, which made it much worse, because it has an inner gate and an outer gate, and hotel guests let them slam. Aside from the noise issue, which you can alleviate to some extent with earplugs and a sounds machine (and by staying away from the elevator and the street), we were very happy with this hotel.

At the onset, the front desk staff were excellent and very friendly. Each one of them went out of their way to help answer all my questions. I stayed from April 9-14th, 2010 and was in Paris for the marathon. As for the hotel here are my Pros and cons: Location: Great..easy access to public transportation..so one can make ut anywhere in Paris easily. Price: Was ok for the location. Rooms: are small but the shower is really small. Breakfast: simple and ok..nothing to write home about. Improvements needed: 1. Tea/Coffee maker a must..I had to go up and down the steps several times to get hot water..but the staff was very helpful. 2. Room TV and channels: Can provide better TV and more channels..I had a couple of channels where I could hear the Audio but the image would come and go..over all not a very good service. 3. Microwave on the floor or in room would be nice. 4. A couple of plates and cups would be nice to have, in case one brings their own food. Overall, I was very satisfied and will return if traveling along..not sure there is enough room for a family with kids. I have been to paris four times and overall, I do not expect very high standards from Paris Hotels unless one pays exceptionally high room rates. Regards, Ravi

The Terminus Orleans was what I expected. A typically small European hotel room. Well kept and tidied nicely daily. Staff were friendly and spoke very good English and were very helpful. I stayed in Paris for the weekend before Christmas, with my wife. It's was a freezing weather (snow and temperatures around zero) but the room (in the 7th floor)was warm and with a nice view. All went well vith our experience, except one time they forgot to bring us the towells we ask for (they'd lefted us towels just for one person) and one other night, we arrived late, and found the window wide open. About the location: very handy, just 30 mts of an metro station, easy to go to the center or to reach the Orly airport. All in all, I think it's a nice choice for the price. A final advice: taste the delicious crêpes int the the hot dog trailer, placed in front of the hotel.

First time in Paris as an adult. Metro stairs emerge right in front of hotel. Excellent crapes outside hotel doors... try the sausage with egg or cheese for breakfast. Our room was quiet as it faced away from the street and on 7th floor. Elevator only goes to 6th floor and is 2' by 3' wide. This was a wonderful hotel experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

This is a very lovely simple small budget hotel at a reasonable price (Eur85/night for double room with private bathroom) The hotel is located just beside one of the exit of the subway. So it is very convenient to all major histroic place and downtown center. The staffs are 24 hours available and very very friendly and helpful. The only thing someboday may complain would be the lift, which is really very small. But I do not mind, since it is my first time to take such a small and old-style lift. It is absoultley a different experience! Very cute hotel! I would definately consider to come back!

My only complaint was with the night desk clerk who couldn't work the credit card machine. In the end after many failed attempts, I just offered him the cash, which he gladly accepted but then didn't know how to print out a receipt for me. The hotel itself is lovely and in a great spot especially as we needed to get to Orly for a really early flight. It was only 23 Euro for the cab.

Te rooms were clean, the bedsheets and everything was changed everyday. The carpet needed to be replaced, as it was pretty old and had not the most pleasant smell in the world... Also, the room was small and the bathroom very very very small, it was difficult even to have a shower in there. The elevator was also very small, I think it could take up to two people and two large bags, maximum. The reception people were really nice, we had no problems with them. You had to leave the card every time you went out, but that didn't bother us. The surroundings were ok - lots of caffés and shops, supermarkets etc., but there were also some homeless persons right next to the hotel. They were not agressive, but when arriving late at night you might feel a little bit uncomfortable. Anyway, we went walking to the city center, from the hotel, and in less than an hour we were arriving at the Jardin du Luxembourg/ Boulevard Saint Michel (in the Quartier latin). Over all, it was a very good, clean budget hotel, so I recommend it for anyone who is on a tight budget in Paris, and doesn't spend that much time in the room.

The hotel had no rooms with A/C, the room was so small, the bed was small for two people, one person hardly can take a shower in the bathroom, because the shower area was a little square, like 2 feet x 2 feet, if you turn around, you shut off the water, or the shower curtain reach you. Though it was very clean.

My sister and I both Aussies in our late 20s were very happy with the Hotel pronounced Or-leon not Orleans as in New Orleans, US. Made that mistake once he he. We really enjoyed our time in Paris. We had a double room with balcony view (basically a window that can open and a small step out) which was lovely. The room was nicer and bigger than I expected. The bathroom was nice, small but completely useable. The TV was not in english but who watches TV. There was a convenience store and chemist across the road, and a very handy stall out the front selling fantastic crepes. If you haven't experienced a french crepe they are fantastic. The french are mad on nutella but I prefered mine with just sugar. Staff were very helpful, english good but not fantastic. We were silly enough (or should I say completely rushed) to leave jackets and stuff in our wardrobe behind. The hotel staff mailed them to us no worries at all. Fantastic service. Metres to metro. It was so easy to get to from Nord just one train - line 4. Would definitely return again! Thanks for a great holiday!

We had a very pleasant stay at Terminus Orleans. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel was right next to a metro station so it was easy to get around. Although the room was small it was clean and had all the facilities needed. Would recommend for a short trip.

I stayed in Paris for 4 days and enjoyed my stay at Hotel Terminus Orleans. It was located very close to a Metro stop making it easy to get to different places in Paris. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful with directions, recommendations, etc.

Good budget hotel. Clean comfortable room. Good quality (if small) shower room. Trip from Gare de Nord to hotel was very simple on the Metro ( get off at last stop with no changes). Plenty of local shops and cafes available although we only used them on the first night. Hotel is a long way from the centre of Paris but we knew that when we booked it.

I was in Paris twice. I indicate this hotel to young couples which want a good price and more than decent rooms/services.

Loved this hotel. The metro (20 metres from the door) was close to everything - the best location! lots of good restaurants nearby, great cafes. Loved the staff. Great Hotel and would stay here again.

This was the first time i stayed at hotel terminus orleans. nice location, tho a bit far from the tourist hubs. the metro takes care of that though. helpful staff, nice and safe location -- pertinent since i was a single woman travelling alone, and most imp: clean. however, in summer, the lack of a fan really pinches: it was esp hot in july (i travelled in the first week of july 2009) and had to keep the windows open completely to let in a breeze...a slight prob since my room was on the first floor and opened on to the main street. its a nice street tho, with major metro lines nearby, including to the CDG airport (a few blocks away).

Hotel Terminus was a nice clean hotel 20 steps from the Metro station. We found the location inconvenient from the tourist attractions. It was a 20min metro ride to get to St. Michel from where you could then walk or transfer trains to reach the sites. We would have prefered a more central location. The hotel itself was very clean and a good value for the price of 60 euro a night for a double. We would stay here again although we would prefer a better location. Ensuite bathroom was good, no closed caption on TV so only french if that matters to you.

Albergo, carino, pulito vicinissimo alla metro. Camere piccolino, ma silenziose. Buonissimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. Lo consiglio a tutti i giovani.

Good points: free WiFi, rooms in good order, metro close by, Velib station opposite. Can be noisy street-side with windows open, due to traffic and cafes nearby. I use this hotel regularly.

Washroom is not good, very small and tiny and very difficult to take shower. Double bed is very small and hardly two people can sleep. Strange noises during night and day. Room is very small too. On the plus side, lcd tv is good and also the people on reception were good.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel. It is a bit far from the city's major attractions, but public transport is two steps away. The staff was very polite and helpful. The room was on the smaller side, but cleaned every day. The top most floor is not accessible by elevator, but the rest of the 6 floors are. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers. More than worth the price!

The metro station is very near, the room is not expensive, small but clean and it is very convenient for some days. The shower is too small, the elevator old and too small.

We were very pleased with the hotel. The rooms are a bit small (it reminded me of my teenage years when I had to fit my entire life into an 8x10 room) however, it had everything we needed. Large bed, private bathroom, window to the outside world, clean. It was in a great location with an active neighborhood. The crepe stand was EXCELLENT. Handmade crepes prepared right in front of you. There is a grocery store a short walk away with excellent prepared sandwhiches/wraps, salads, and pastries. I recommend the tartlets! The metro is right there and provides very easy access around city and to all the major sites. We were especially pleased with the restaurant adjacent to the hotel, Club Auto Passion. This was a gem of a restaurant that was recommended by the hotel clerk and we liked it so much the first time we went back a second night. All hotel clerks spoke English. It was very cool when we went, therefore the temperature in the room was very comfortable. This hotel exceeded my expectations and brought a sigh of relief.

As a single female visiting Paris for the first time this was an excellent place to stay. Safe and accessible, within a local area which wasn't full of tourists. My room was clean and a good size for a single traveller, however two people in that room may have been a bit cramped. Didn't eat in hotel as local amenities were excellent and cheap...supermarket, creperie etc. With the Metro station just outside the front door to boot. Would definatley reccommend this hotel!!

We are a younger couple from Germany and it was our 1st in Paris. We found the Terminus Hotel through Venere. It is a smaller, sweet and friendly hotel in the southern part of Paris. The metro station is in the front of the door and you can reach the centre in a few minutes. The room was tidy, the service was great and we were very satisfied overall. We will come there again the next we visit Paris, for sure.

Nice hotel but a bit far out from the main attractions to be honest. If you can afford a bit more look for accommodation closer to the centre. You will save on the metro and be able to go out at night without worrying about the last metro train!!

This is a simple but friendly hotel. The rooms are small but clean with good interior. The building is somewhat poorly soundproofed, so this is not the place for light sleepers. Breakfast is a typical French breakfast, and the staff is very friendly. One benefit of this place is: there is a metro station right in front of it! All this for a reasonable price, so I can recommend this for everyone who just needs a place to sleep and not much more.

We booked this hotel because of the good reviews it had. It was terrible. Carpet was torn up through all the hallways, wires were hanging out of the ceiling, the rooms smelled and were dirty. Our room on the 7th floor was very hot and you couldn't leave the window open because of the street noise. We checked out after the first night and checked into the Quality Inn two doors down which was very nice.
