There is a charming quaintness about the hotel. However the decor of our room was rather tired and dreary and did not reflect this or the beauty of the lobby. The bathroom was updated and pretty but the tub needs a shower curtain for the convenience of showering. The location is great; close to the Metro and within walking distance of Paris centre ville site seeing. The staff were very courteous and helpful.

Loction was great - quiet street but well-placed for sightseeing on foot, yet Metro a stone's throw away if needed. Room was lovely, though a carpet would have made it more cosy - a laminate floor in January made it a bit chilly! Also the bathroom was TINY - and contained the only mirror, recessed behind the basin, so applying make-up required a lot of leaning over and peering! The maid let herself in just after I had got back from breakfast on the Sunday morning - if I had wanted a lie-in I would have had no chance. Not very good. There were the usual toilet-flushing from other rooms disturbing me at night, but otherwise fairly quiet. And the buffet breakfast was great!

Very nice hotel, great location, nice staff but rooms fairly small. The surrounding area is good for nightlife and going sightseeing but is a fair way to the coach station if your going to beauvais. Would use this hotel again and definately recommend it.

Hotel rooms in Paris are small, so I wasn't expecting spacious, but mine was fine and pleasantly decorated. The lift was the tiniest I've ever seen - not for the claustrophobic (like me), but I was happy running up and down stairs. I booked online requesting a room on an upper floor overlooking the street which I got, and this was brilliant. The location is excellent in an interesting area of Paris near the Sorbonne. Expensive.

For Paris this is an excellent area to stay in. We had a first floor room that was small but workable. My friends were on the 5th floor and said their room was noisey and much smaller - didn't see it. It was certainly the smallest room we stayed in in Europe but it was acceptable. and quiet. Reception was not that helpful if you got the wrong person. But again the area is fantastic and what is offered is acceptable but not marvellous.

Location excellent and within easy reach of Metro. This is pretty good for Paris although if you are claustrophobic steer clear. The 3 person lift on one side of the hotel(linked to the other side only on ground floor) is tiny with stairs a steep narrow spiral and the only way up/down if you dont fancy the lift.Loads of reasonable restaurants within 5 mins on foot for breakfast or other meals.Overall value for money is good.

When we checked in, we waited over 10 good minutes at the counter. Then, a man balding man with glasses who was having a coffee between a little counter and a coffee machine away from the front desk shouted "put your luggages in that room there till your room is ready". Much later in the day we got our luggages from "that" room and placed them ourself in a tiny lift, pushed the button and run up the second floor to retrieve them. Then, we entered a tiny room that had nothing to do with what was shown on the website. The widest of wide angle must have been used for the filming. In the room there was a tiny bed. Too bad for people over six foot.It had tiny pillows. The batroom had been cleaned in an average manner, the plughole of the bath was showing a lot of rust.During our four day stay the lonely person behind the desk never acknowledged us. Too busy reading the papers or on the net. On the last day when paying the bill we were spoken about half dozen words, like the amount due and sign here. The prevailling and lasting impression was that the people running the hotel felt disturbed in their personal activities by customers presence. No understanding of hospitality at all, sadly. Maybe it is due to our immediate previous destination(Japan)but for exactly the same price(with a superb breakfast included)we stayed at Park Royal Hotel central Tokyo where they know what customers' service is about. The Sully hotel had one thing going for itself, its location, absolutely nothing else.

The Sully was perfectly acceptable for a 3 night stay in Paris, given our budget. A great location easy five minute walk to metro. we requested a quiet room and got it - room 9. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and spoke excellent English. Try Bistro L'ami Jean - worth the trip. For blowout 3 michelin level experience, book at Astrance. we came to Paris to eat and experience the foodie culture and were not disappointed. Only wish we had more time - there is so much to do, you need at least 5 nights. Would recommend the Sully!

The Sully is an excellent property for the price. The location is great, close to Metro and with lots of restaurants in the area. The breakfast at E10pp seemed pricy, but after paying for a couple of coffees and croissants in the area restaurants it was actually a good deal. The rooms are small as in every 3star in Paris but well furnished, the shower in our bathroom was too small, and if you are over 6feet and 250 lbs you probably will not fit. I don't know if the hotel has rooms with tubs, but I would request that next time. We travel light and had no problem with the tiny elevator, but a giant suitcase and 1 person would barely fit. The lobby has a bar area which is a good place to meet friends and have a drink before you venture out into the city and the staff is very friendly and helpfull. If you need to catch a plane they can order a shuttle service for you at half the price of a taxi. If you are looking for a good deal and great location, this is it.

My 15 year old granddaughter and I stayed here for 2 weeks in early August, and loved this hotel. We adored the buffet breakfasts served each morning, and well worth the 10 Euros. Our air-conditioner was not working, so, as I requested, we got a nice fan which definitely kept us cool enough.

Good location..very close to Notre Dame and Latin Area. Not a bad room ..spacious wise..considering the ''mouse traps'' you get ussually in Paris.Even the price is appropiate to the quality of the hotel..unluckly i got the last room on the 1st floor facing the street and it was quite noise due to the heavy traffic ( this was the only real negative aspect).

In Paris I always stay in the Quartier Latin - excellent communications (also to CDG airport), walking distance to many interesting parts of the central arrondisments and a nice atmosphere. I've tried several hotels in this area and Sully is one of the best in its category. Simple, clean and with an OK breakfast (10 EUR at the moment). The hotel has rooms around a squarish backyard, so it's very quiet. Small rooms - sure, but you're not going to stay in your room, are you?

Hotel was very lovely, friendly staff, nice public areas, funny little elevator, top-floor room with 1 big and 1 extra bed, separate WC and bathroom with big bath. Breakfast 10 EUR was surprisingly rich: baguettes, croissants, ham, 2 sorts of cheese, yogurt, cafe, tea, cheerios, fruits etc. Perfect location 5 minutes from Notre Dame and Seine, Pantheon really close, little restaurants & street-market. Safe and quiet surroundings. Food tips: restaurant & tea house "La fourmi ailee" - excellent quiche! Sushi & sashimi fast food on St Germain - tasty japanese food for 10pm eating.

We had lovely morning coffee cream at the cafe opposite the Sully. The hotel was ideally situated in the Latin Quarter not far from the area that is called "Little Athens" where all the fab bistros were. It was our first visit to Paris and we loved it. We would stay at the same hotel again. The staff were lovely. The rooms were cleaned every day.The only negative comment i could have about the hotel was that the carpet in one of the bedrooms didnt seem to have been vaccumed. But the rest of the place was extremely clean.

The location in the Latin Quarter is wonderful, within walking distance to great cafes and the Notre Dame. The metro station is one block away! The staff was very friendly and assisted us in buying tickets and getting cabs when needed. There is free WiFi access (but the signal is very low and you might get knocked off a few times). The breakfast was excellent, but is an extra 20 Eu/day. I would highly recommend this cute and quaint hotel in the Latin Quarter.

Room was fine, if over-heated, and a decent size, though a choice between twin and double rooms on the website wd be helpful. The breakfast offered excellent choice, coffee was OK. An over-priced gin with flat tonic and no lemon still rankles! Car-parking a bonus. The hotel's quirky 'mediaeval' ambiance fits in with a lovely part of the city. Mediaeval(and Roman) Paris is all within easy walking distance, and within a few minutes you can reach Notre-Dame, the Rue Mouffetard, the Jardins du Luxembourg.

We had a very small room, which looked nothing like that displayed on the website. You had to hold the shower over your head to direct the flow of water. The room was quite noisy in the early morning due to the noise of people going up and down the stairs and walking in rooms overhead. The lift was tiny, just enough room for one person.

The first room we were allocated was a very small smoking room that was on the front of the hotel (on the main road side). The room reaked of smoke as did the bed clothes and curtains etc. The bathroom was not as clean as one would have expected - there were long hairs left in the bath plughole. The room was also very noisy - being on the main road - and we didn't sleep that night. The next morning we asked to be moved to a quiet room which the receptionist did straightaway and everything was fine from then on. We were allocated a superior room (no extra cost). We found all the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room and food was good, very fresh and well laid out, with plenty of it.

A very good hotel excellently located for the Latin Quarter and Saint Germain which are the better areas at night. Really good access to the metro and only one station change was needed from CDG airport. Staff were very good and the room was clean and tidy. The only gripe was the tiny bathroom but as we were only staying a relatively short time, this was not enough to stop us visiting again. It really was 5 minutes from Notre Dame too.

Lovely hotel, great location. Friendly and courteous staff with great English skills. Comfortable rooms - not spacious by American standards, but certainly adequate. Well decorated and clean. And, by the way, prices through Venere.com were significantly better than any others we found, including Travelocity, Orbitz, etc. Our only complaint was that an envelope was left for us, and the hotel couldn't find it until our third day there, even after having been asked. All in all, a very comfortable stay - we'd certainly receommend it.

Sully Saint Germain is located withinb the latin quarter of Paris. This is beautiful and vibrant area and is ideally located for all the main tourist attractions in Paris. The hotel was as described. Very classy looking hotel lobby and rooms. Staff speak good English and are keen to help. Only negative is the restaraunt downstairs. There is no air conditioning in there and it gets quite warm.

The first room we were allocated (room 1 in the hotel)was very cramped and although the outside temperatures were in excess of 32 degrees, the air conditioning in the room was not functioning. We asked for and were eventually provided with a fan overnight but it was an unpleasant experience. The lock on the door of the room was also broken and we had to enter the room via the french windows from the courtyard. We were unable to lock the door to our room as there was no key for the french windows. This was extremely unsatisfactory. On the second day we were moved to another room which was more acceptable.

We stayed here coming in and out of Paris 3 times. The rooms sizes vary greatly, but we ended up with a larger suite the last 2 times. The breakfast was expensive, so we ate at the local bakery down the street. The location was OK, with a 5-10 minute walk to the Metro station.

The above review is tainted somewhat as when we arrived we were informed that there was some problem with our room and that we would not be able to stay in the Sully Saint Germain. We were offered a room in the hotel next door (that coincidentally we had looked at on the web before choosing Sully St Germain and decided not to stay there because it didn't look very nice!) The room in their sister hotel was terrible. It was very small and dirty. The side of the wardrode was unpainted MDF, with the number 38 written on the side for some reason. There was broken tiles in the bathroom (with no bath). Wine stains on the bedside table (badly cleaned), that was made of grey formica that was chipped. It also has no air conditioning and to boot it was noisy and there was silver fish!!! However the next day we saw the duty manager of the Sully Saint Germain who was very nice and helpfully. We were transferred to the Sully Saint Germain for the rest of our stay. The hotel is lovely with rooms that are of a reasonable/good standard but don't be fooled by the fantastic photos of the rooms on the web as you have to pay full price to have those ones. The staff were great and the location fantastic and when we checked out the duty manager offered a 50% discount on our first night stay, so overall I would give this hotel a fair to good rating and would probably stay there again in the future

This hotel is in a very interesting location and is well maintained by the staff. The room was small with a closet but no drawers to put clothes.
