One mistake when the cleaningstaff forgot to clean our room on friday! Ahmed, the nightporter, was a gem and a superb representant for the hotel as well as Nathalie. The nice elderly lady who ran the breakfast on weekdays was cute and multi helpful but needs some help when it is a full house. All in all, we enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it to our friends//

We came to Paris with my wife for three days. Needed a romantic get away. The place is value for money. Special thanks for the staff - seemed to really care that we liked our stay, which in fact we did.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Soft for 3 nights – it was a very nice place to stay at. I guess you can say that it has the beautiful Paris feel we all want, but in a modern way. The hotel staff were very friendly, pleasant and helpful. We weren’t expecting the weather to be rainy during our stay so we weren’t prepared; Ahmad (hotel staff) offered us an umbrella which we needed very much. I loved the design of the hotel lobby; it is very unique and cozy. The rooms were different to the usual which I liked very much, although they were small, their spacious bathrooms made up for it i guess. And the fact that the rooms are quite soundproof is true, but you have to take into account that the area is very quiet. All you hear is nearby room doors opening and closing. Another plus was the free internet. Also I have to mention how kind the hotel staff are, Ahmad helped us a lot and Natalie was very sweet and wouldn’t let us pay for using the lobby internet (which was not free) and printing, even when we insisted :) Also the location of the hotel is superb, try walking around in the area surrounding the hotel. It has everything you want, beautiful cafes, bistros, bakeries, and pubs. There are even several supermarkets. I fell in love with the surrounding area, the atmosphere and the French architecture, the nearby canal was also lovely-definitely a highlight of staying in this hotel! It’s such a nice area to walk around in and discover…also it has many metro stations in close proximity which is the most important thing if you’re staying in Paris for sightseeing purposes, makes life a lot easier. What i was sad to find out only towards the end of my trip was the closeness of Montmartre, Place Du Tetre and Sacre Coeur to the hotel. I wish i found that out before as i would've spend much more time there, out of all Paris i think Montmartre is one of my favourite areas. It's beautiful, sceneric – the view from the Sacre Coeur was breathtakingly unreal. It was

Very good area, v close to metro and lots of options for dinner. It has been renovated in a fairly cheap way but they are making a real effort and the staff are very helpful. Good value for money. Free wifi was good.

The public areas were being restored, so the breakfast room was very cramped. But otherwise it was absolutely fine with clean, average-size rooms and did not disappoint.

There was refurbishment work going on in the entrance area which was noisy on arrival but didn't affect our stay at all as we were out during the day. Superbly clean and comfortable room and bathroom, very nicely decorated, very comfy beds. Very competent, helpful and friendly staff. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

We were accomodated next to the elevator and it was very noisy - the walls were like paper. And the cleaning staff entered our room at 7 o'clock, on Saturday morning! Otherwise, the hotel is well situated, the room was spacious and modern and front desk staff kind and helpful. Breakfast favilities were a bit cramped so we decided to go out for a breakfast.

A fixture on the wall for the shower head would help. Instead of a small bath tub, why not put in modern spacious showers?

Pleasant hotel ina quiet side street of Magenta Blvd. A bit of a step from Gare du Nord, but in the right direction (riverward). Hotel being upgraded (my stay was in the hiatus between bedroom makeovers and public area work). Staff pleasant and friendly, breakfast good (though extra). Further along street are several inexpensive restaurants and bistros, and at the far end is a very pleasant canal basin, with locks and park areas.

Hotel location is very close to Metro station and Gare de l'est, the rooms are clean and neat with a quite simple decoration recently renovated. In the surroundings you can find nice places to have dinner but you would have to walk a bit further towards the canal Saint Martin for something worthy.

This hotel was perfect for us as we could drop our bags off as soon as we hopped off the eurostar. We like to explore cities by foot and were able to walk from Hotel Soft to Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. (About 8km total, one way). And then took the underground back.

Myself and my husband stayed in the Hotel Soft recently and found it to be a very friendly comfortable place to stay. The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly and even to go as far as to help me with my french(which is not great!). We would highly recommend the this hotel, it is near the metro, shops, and is a super quiet area to unwind from a day's sign-seeing, shopping, etc..

We were heading home from a grand camping tour of Europe and needed a solid place to stay before heading out to CDG. The location near both train stations provided what we needed. We came in late and had to leave early. The Soft hotel and their staff provided a perfect stay for our situation. If you find yourself in this setting, stay there, but allow for lots of time to get out to and through the CDG mess.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Soft at the end of May 2008, and we were quite shocked that none of the rooms in the hotel had air-conditioning! It wasn't too bad for us as it was still cool at night, but could not imagine staying here in summer (or winter for that matter). The location was ok, in a quiet street off a main boulevard. The impression we had from other reviews was that the hotel had recently undergone renovations, but it's really just a paint job. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, but with no fans or air-con, I would be reluctant to recommend Hotel Soft.

Hotel Soft was in a good location, close to the train stations and the metro. The photos of the room on this site correctly reflected the room which was bright and cheery. Our room wasn't particularly large but it had everything we needed and I was very happy with it. The staff were very nice, storing our luggage for us on arrival and our last day and offering suggestions for local restaurants. I would happily stay there again.

A newly renovated hotel, near Gare d'Est and place de la Republique. It is very well connected to major touristic attractions via the subway. The room was quite nice and clean, but somewhat small. The bed was new and it was reasonably large for singles, though. I guess, the price/quality ratio can not get better than this, especially in Paris.

We chose this hotel because we were travelling to Paris on the Eurostar and wanted somewhere near the Gare du Nord.We followed the map off the website & took only ten minutes to reach the hotel. It has been recently refurbished, rooms DID look like the photos on the website, clean bathrooms with double showers, flat screen tvs and best of all new beds for a comfortable nights sleep. All hotel staff we met were very helpful and gave useful information on places to go,the metro, even recommended some great local restaurants. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as it worked out much cheaper to stop off at a patisserie nearby so can't comment on that.We stayed for three nights in March and while the weather was cold the hotel had good central heating. It was our first time in Paris and I have already recommended this hotel and would certainly stay there again.

This will be a nice hotel when they get it finished. I arrived in the middle of an electrical blackout affecting the lobby and the elevator, but that doesn't explain the desk clerk handing me a key for a room -- on the top floor, to which I had to walk -- that was alread occupied. Still, when things eventually worked out, I was impressed by the room itself and the modern fixtures which were going in. Free wi-fi is always nice, and the location can't be beat. This place will, in the not too distant future, be a prime location near the Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est.

we stayed just for 2 nights and were very happy in the SOFT. As wer arrived with the Thalys train the distance Gare du Nord to the hotel is just a 10 min. walk. The closest metro stop is just 5 min away (gare de l`est) Since the hotel has changed management a big effort and expenses have been done, starting by the rooms which now have a roomy, 1st class bathroom, flatscreen TV, etc. Just a safe was missing, but the reception solved this problem. We didnt have breakfast in the hotel, available for 7€ extra. For those looking for an extensive b.f. we can recommend "le pain quotidien" in the "rue du commerce" The service at the reception was very kind, tourist info is available for free. We can recommend this hotel to everybody staying in Paris regarding the price/quality very good, especially when arriving in the Gares du Nord or de l`est.

Stayed there 7 nights Dec 27-Jan 4 in a double room. Rooms were upgraded as pictured on the website. Hotel was still being painted and renovated in hallways, stairs etc.. Priced right for European standards, pricey for American. Area was safe and Metro stations were near. No need to pay for the breakfast since fresh bakery's are within walking distance. I was a single traveler and really felt at ease with personnel and neighborhood; will definitely return. Didn't notice air conditioner so maybe not in the summer. ;-)

Very nice and helpful staff. The Hotel is in downtown Paris you can arrive all sights by walk (i you like). A couple of supermarkets and stores. We would like to come back again. The only negative thing was, that they charged us 0,50€ p. Person more for the breakfast as they advanced. But the breakfast was more than ok.
