Second time round, and would come back again anytime. Very helkpful staff. The location is splendid, and the rooms though small-ish are very pleasant.

Fantastic stay! I was skeptical after reading the reviews but for the price and location I was willing to give it a go. But the hotel was great! Average sized room, spacious bathroom (clean), mini bar fridge, comfy beds and double glazed windows that kept the sound of the street out. Did get quite warm but a fan was provided. 24 hour reception always helpful when I had a question. Great location to metro and many tourist sights. Highly recommended when accommodation is so expensive in Paris.

A great value in a wonderful location. Rooms not large, but adequate and clean with good bathrooms. Hotel was quiet; pub across the street was somewhat noisy, but not terrible. There was a view of the Eiffel Tower from the room (4th floor), Rue Cler is nearby, many sights are within walking distance, and it is in a nice neigborhood. Patisserie next door or a coffee bar across the street good for a quick breakfast. Decent and reasonably priced restaurants a block or two away. The staff is professional. We enjoyed our stay.

This is an excellent place to stay apart from the rooms that face the street as the drunks get very rowdy at about 3 in the morning. You are withing walking distance of so many of the major attractions and there are good restaurants withing a stones throw of the hotel. I have stayed here on and off for 30 years and will probably return.

Cleaning left a lot to be desired. Nice desk staff but sometimes they were away and not sure when they would return. Paris is expensive, but it's robbery what you pay vs. what you get! Mustn't grumble much as the location is fabulous. BRING EARPLUGS if you plan on sleeping.

This hotel is all about location. It is exactly between the Invalides and the Eiffel Tower. As far as seeing the sights in Paris, it doesn't get much better than that. To me that's the most important feature of the hotel, so I was very happy with the Saint Dominique (that and the room being clean). It's not a spetacular or luxurious hotel in any sense, just a decent place to sleep in a very convenient part of town. We didn't have breakfast, so can't say how that is. There are many restaurants and cafes on St. Dominique Street, and if you need to go any farther, the Invalides Train/Metro station is only a couple of blocks away.

We have just come back fron 4 nights at the St Dominique. The hotel was situated on a lovely street of little individual shops and cafes. Lots of places to eat nearby. It was only about 15 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower and river and about the same to the nearest Metro station. Our room, No 8, was a good size at the back of the hotel. We thought the breakfast was worth having - fruit juice, cereals, selection of croissants, yoghurt and coffee or tea, it would have cost more in a cafe. We would definitely use the St Dominique again.

This was our first stay at the hotel and we would stay again. The hotel has some charm and it is in a very good location. The bathroom was not as nice as some travellers expect and the optional breakfast was over-priced. While there was cable television in the room, there were no English language channels. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

The location is very central with walking distance to many of the main attractions. Quiet area with many restaurants nearby. Easy to access from the CDG Airport. Note that the house numbering goes in different directions on the two sides of the street.

The location was great - walk out the door, look right, and you can see the Eiffel Tower! The rooms were rather small, but clean. The walls were a bit thin and sometimes I could hear the people in the next room when they talked full voice. The lift is very small - 1 person & 1 suitcase per ride! But there IS a lift, so that's good enough! The staff was courteous & professional and the first night the gentleman made a fabulous restaurant recommendation, a place just around the corner. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the great location. If you're taking the train, get off at LaTour Marbourg stop, not Invalides! The directions on the Hotel's website are not the best. Look at a subway map & you'll get there better!

This was a charming hotel in a very convenient location - looking to the right as you stepped ou the front door was the Eiffel tower just down the street. Metro station Les Invalides was a short walk away. Staff were very friendly and helpful . The RER was on rotating strikes during our stay , so the staff recommended a car service to take us to the airport when we left. The service was reasonably priced and got us to the airport swiftly and efficiently. There were many good restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast at the hotel was generous by Paris standards and served in a lovely room with a good view of the street acivities - children being walked to school in the mornings, deliveries made to the pub across the street, illegally parked cars being towed in a matter of minutes- a fascinating look at day to day Parisian life. The only negative comment I would make was that the sound-proofing of the interior walls was lacking - but we slept well with ear-plugs. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

I was shocked that I was charged 20Euro for a continental breakfast per day. Very Expensive. Bit of a walk to any place including Metro. Internet cafe and pubs for food in area but again a walk of 15 mins. Hotel was 20+minute walk to any where. Don't know if I would stay there again as I was very unhappy about the cost of the food. Had a floor flooding water for some reason. Was not fixed and was not offered another room. Was not given a discount for inconvenience of water leaking under tiles.

The Saint Dominique Hotel is a lovely hotel about a 15 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. The staff was wonderful! They were always nice and helpful. The area has plenty of restaurants close by. There is a supermarket and Starbucks about 2 short blocks away. The metro is also a few blocks away. We were able to get wireless internet without a problem. Our room was tiny but we paid a great price 75 euro a night so I can't complain! The shower always had hot water and the beds were okay. At times we could hear people talking in the room above us, but it was not a problem. I would absolutely stay here again but I would ask for a larger room.

Having never been to Paris and finding no availabilities in the Latin Quarter or St. Germaine, our preferred locations we were happy to find the Saint Dominique. We liked that the neighborhood didn't feel touristy and had a lot of very good services and restaurants. Very close to the Eiffel Tower which was fun, but it would have been better to be closer to the areas that had more of what we wanted to visit. But, even though we're not great walkers, we easily walked (in separate trips) to the Arc de Triomphe, the D'Orsay and even Ille de Cite. The Seine cruises are nearby and there's also a subway stop about a block away. We found the desk staff very helpful and knowledgeable. There really are no views from this hotel and our room was off the central courtyard. We slept with the windows open and found it very quiet except for Sunday night which was surprisingly noisy.

I really loved this hotel! The rooms were extremely clean and very French-feeling. It was only a short 15 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and very near the Metro/RER. There are many restaurants nearby and the staff was extremely helpful. It was a little pricey, especially the breakfast, but I would definitely stay here again. I would request a room off the back, though, since it was a little noisy outside the window, being right across from the Irish pub.

Have to say that before going to Paris, read about this Hotel, saw pics & etc. etc. etc. Most of it do really measure up in reality, however, i found one thing absolutely different from the things written (@ least in my case): day shift personnel was way worse than the night one... and rooms in the pics do look bigger than their factual size & those of You who prefer silence - i wouldn't really say that's the No.1 choice.. however, all in all - felt happy with my selection :]

Stayed here for a long weekend. Nice area, 5 mins to one of 2 metro stations, or 5-10 mins to river and another 30 min walk along river to louvre, Notre Dame etc.. No frills hotel, just used to sleep. Did not have breakfast, plenty of other options on doorstep. From website seemed like there was a courtyard but it is not v appealing, maybe just because February but even in summer can't see it as very appealing. Room was small but comfortable, V clean. The street is in a good area with shops, cafe's etc. Staff were friendly,on returning late each night.

The hotel is actually nice but the there is a real sound problem, on the first night we could not sleep because the room next door had the television on and on the second night we could hear and understand a conversation the couple was having, but if that is not a problem for you the hotel has small but cute rooms and the location is good.

We spent in the hotel one weekend in December. The hotel looked as it was described on the venere web, the location is great - we stayed in the building cross a very nice courtyard and it was very quiet. I think that it is quiet also in the street facing rooms - the street is lively in a daytime, but everything is closed until midnight. The room was clean, the limited space is normal in Paris. The Eiffel Tower was really very close and you can see it from the street.

The hotel is in a very good location near the Eiffel Tower, good to walk to other areas and the metro not far. Hotel itself very basic but for the price paid ok, suggestb when booking ensure you do not gety the rooms on the 5th floor as they are the attic, a little too small.

The rooms were smaller than expected and with the very thin walls you can hear conversation from the other rooms. We switched to another room and found it quieter. There is a mini-fridge in the room and we used this to keep our breakfast food in as the their offering is overpriced. There are 2 grocery stores 2 blocks down the street. As others have stated a great location. Good restaurants in local walking distance, a couple of asian/chinese fast food places, pharmacy and wash & dry across the street, metro within 2 blocks, 15 min walk to Eiffel tower. We are here in September. There is no A/C and with no cross ventilation - a couple of nights it was quite warm in the room - I would not recommend it in the hotter months. All in all the pros outweigh the cons as a good place to sleep and see Paris. If you want more you pay much more.

Great location, easy taxi ride from CDG airport, walk to Eiffel Tower, safe at night. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Small rooms, typical of Paris. Only drawback is only 1 key per room. For 2 people travelling together, it's very inconvenient, as you need a key to lock the door from the inside. Will definitely stay there again.

I had heard many horror stories about the quality of Paris hotels for the price. After much looking, I decided on St. Dominique. When we arrived, I was very impressed. Professional and friendly service, accomadating, bigger bathroom then I was expecting (I had low expectations to begin with), and a great location. We stayed in a garden view room, double, en suite. We walked everywhere, but the metro stop is very close too! There's a close pedestrian market to pick up picnic food and then walk to Champ de Mars for a picnic near the Eiffel Tower. Overall, the price was probably a little more then I like to spend, but with service, cleanliness, and location, I was very pleased. For a couple looking for a great night life, I would probably go elsewhere. This neighborhood was a nice quiet retreat from the busy nightlife, so we would go out and then retreat back to the hotel. They also held our luggage for us all day after check out, as out flight out wasn't until late.

Firstly, the hotel is in a brilliant location. It is 10 mins walk to the Eiffel tower, 5 mins to the river Seine, 5 mins to a metro stop. My wife and I were given a room at the end of a courtyard and it was small, cramped and not really very comfortable. The shower was for a midget. The shower drain was clogged and one would up standing in 6 inches of used water and the shower proceeded. During cleaning we did see inside other rooms and they looked much nicer than ours. One front desk guy was really nice and friendly, the others were a bit cold and stand offish. The room key is attached to a keyring that a bodybuilder would struggle to lift. So one had to hand in one's key at reception. But the desk was somethimes either busy or temporarily unattended. So going out, and leaving your key turned into a big deal, a bit like making a bank deposit, rather than just walking out the door. There was a room safe that did not work and upon enquiring I was told that 'none of the safes work, but don't worry, your room is completely safe.' This was probably true, but I would like to have had the safe all the same. Overall, I would reccomend it for the location, and it might be nice if one had a better room than we had, but it was not an outstanding hotel experience. best wishes GO Sydney

Charming well situated hotel, 'little village'within Paris where neighbourhood goings on are more interesting and provide more variety of experiences than 'touristy' areas Great access to all areas, safe (well policed due to proximity of govt and military est.) Would highly recommend independent travellers to use - restaurants in area provide great variety of choice, laundromat nearby, supermarkets and bakeries

We just spent 1 night at St. Dominique Hotel. Location ist great: between Tour Eiffel and Invalides in a quite busy street with a lot of shops, coffee bars, bus stop, it is the perfect point to feel "inside" Paris. There must be some rooms in the court which might be calmer, but we liked the sound of the street life. The room was very parisien, little bit creaky, but clean and bright. The staff was very friendly. We had breakfast outside, can't say anything about it. We would stay there again.

For a 2 star ** the Saint Dominique was more than adequate . I requested a quiet room and this is what we got. The decore was dated and a smell of smoke in the room. Generally we were happy with the place. We stayed at another hotel in Paris a week later, of similar quality - the room actually quite a bit nicer - but for much less price, though admittedly in a less pricey area (18th arrondissement). So in that sense we found it overpriced. The clerk could have been a little more helpful with city directions we asked of him, but then giving precise directions is not a strong point of French people generally, in our experience. We would go back, if staying in this part of the city. The breakfast area is charming, though we didn't use it.

The room was adequate in size, location is excellant with the Eiffel Tower being about a 10 - 15 min walk and about 5 to 7 mins to the Seine- in fact we walked to most of the sites we visited. Plenty of shops handy and an interesting and safe area. The staff were helpful and allowed us to leave our bags early. Enlish was spoken which is just as well with our limited knowledge of french. We felt the price on comparison with other places and the location was quite fair. There was some revamping of the reception area going on which hampered the checking in and out process but this did not deter the staff from being helpful and polite at all times.

We absolutely received what we saw on the photo...the family staff are extremely professional and courteous and very, very helpful! Our rooms were maintained and immaculate. We were upgraded to a triple room upon our arrival. It is a bit difficult to find the hotel as the sign is just a small gold square along with some others at the side of the door. Hotel St. Dominique is one of those "finds" that - afterwards - make you feel like a genius for having the good sense to book a room there. The price/value relationship is wonderful. This is an exceedingly cozy little haven tucked into a toney neighborhood of shops, restaurants and patisseries, and just a few minute's walk to the Eiffel Tower. Would I go back again? Absolutely!

Unfortunately we did not have a pleseant stay. For the first 2 nights we had no hot water and the man at reception did not offer any apology and even asked me what he wanted me to do about it! The lift was out of order on the 3rd & 4th night of our stay & then the last night of our stay the TV was not working due to the cable being cut by the construction going on. As there were renovations going on at this time (which obviously contributed to all these problems) it made it extremely noisy and the courtyard that was shown in the picture was full of construction materials & unavailable. We were also promised an English paper each day which was not available. Due to the price we had to pay, we felt very unhappy that we were offered no discount for the numerous inconvieniences. We asked the gentleman at the reception if he could reduce the amount for us, but said he could not do anything and we would have to write to the manager.

I WOULD PROBABLY BE THE WRONG PERSON TO BE WRITTING THIS AS I LEFT THIS HOTEL AFTER THE FIRST NIGHT. I WOULD HAVE LEFT THE HOTEL THE MOMENT WE HAD SEEN OUR ROOM BUT WE HAD NOT BOOKED ANOTHER HOTEL. MYSELF AND MY PARTNER BOOKED THE HOTEL OVER THE INTERNET AND LOOKED LOVELY THE LOCATION WAS PERFECT. WHEN WE ARRIVED WE FOUND THAT THE HOTEL WAS UNDER CONSTRUCTON THE AREA BESIDE THE LOBBY WAS TOTALLY GUTTED.THE LOBBY ITSELF LOOKED QUITE NICE AND PLEASANT,SO WE MADE ALLOWANCES FOR THE BUILDING WORKBEING DONE. WE WERE GIVEN OUR ROOM AND ALL I CAN SAY WAS IT WAS AWFUL. NOW WHETHER THE MAN ON RECEPTION (WHO LOOKED LIKE THE MANAGER) THOUGHT THAT AS WE WERE A YOUNG COUPLE (MID 20'S)WE WOULD NOT MIND AND NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT BEING PUT IN THE SMALLEST, POKEST AND DARKEST ROOM IN THE HOTEL. IT HAD STAINS ON THE WALLS AND THE BATHROOM DOOR WOULDN'T EVEN CLOSE. IT CERTAINLY DID NOT LOOK LIKE THE PICTURES ON THE WEBSITE. AS A HOTELIER MYSELF IT WAS IS NO WAY A 2 STAR STANDARD. I HAVE STAYED IN LESS EXPENSIVE HOTELS IN PARIS AND THE ROOMS WERE ALOT NICER. WELL AS YOU CAN IMAGINE I WAS EXTREMELY UPSET, BASICALLY THE FIRST DAY OF OUR HOLIDAY WAS SPENT LOOKING FOR ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION. WE FOUND A LOVELY HOTEL FOR THE SAME RATE IN A WONDERFUL LOCATION AND MOVED THERE THE FOLLOWING DAY. IT WAS MOST ANNOYING THAT WE LOST A WHOLE DAY OF OUR HOLIDAY AND PARIS IS NOT A CITY WHICH YOUCAN AFFORD TO LOSE A DAY IN!!!! I AM STILL EXTREMELY UPSET ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE AND I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR YOUR COMMENTS IN RELATION TO WHAT I HAVE DOCUMENTED.

L'albergo e' in un'ottima posizione ma come qualita' lascia molto a desiderare. Nel caso dovessi ritornare a Parigi sicuramente non alloggero' qui.

Our stay was very pleasant. Hotel St Domonique is in a central location which made moving about the city eith on foot or by metro very easy. The quiteness of the rooms was amazing and alone enough to make us go back.

We had difficulty finding, but once we did, the location was great. Some of the fabrics, etc, are worn which can give the appearance of dingy, but both the bath and bedroom were decently clean. Some of the staff did not appear to try to communicate much, but some was terrific. Overall, very decent accomodations while a bit pricey for the level, but we would stay there again.

Rooms small but clean & adequate - excl value at 113 euros. Front desk staff mixed - one was pleasant and helpful - the other less so. Great location - steps away from pharmacy, ATM, bakery. 1/2 blk to 2 cafes and grocery store. Long block to metro station. Would stay here again

we found this hotel to be more like a guesthouse. it was fairly small, bedrooms were compact but very clean. the en-suite again was compact but was very clean. the location of the hotel was excellent, with most attractions within walking distance. two metro stations were also nearby, with trains available every 5-10 mins.

Prior to arrival I visited the Hotel's website for more accurate travel details. Only to find they had a spacial offer on for the night I was staying at a lower price than I was paying- However I had already booked. I asked if I could keep on the room as I had a business meeting at 2.00pm the following day - I was told no check out was at 11.am not 12.00 as confirmed in my booking. The room was small and was upstairs in an annexe - the stairway was very difficult to manage with cases - elderly clients would not make it, and should be warned. I checked out next day and asked if I could leave my cases until the evening - this was agreed by the very surley receptionist - who then asked if I wanted a taxi booked to go to the airport - I asked if I could get the taxi to the bus as this would be better value - I was told no- the taxi will not take me to the bus only to the airport - at 7.00pm in the evening it cost 60euros because of traffic rather than 17 euros on the bus. The hotel location in Excellent, however the service and standard is less than I would have expected.

This is a super little hotel with a lovely authentic feel. The location was excellent for getting around Paris and I would definately use it again.

I was concerned with the fact tht my assigned room lacked fresh air in the form of an opening window. In summer, this would have been unbearably hot. It seems that the lack of a window for exit in case of fire is dangerous.

Rue St Dominique is central to the Eiffel Tower and the Invalides. It is a block from a metro stop, and a reasonable walk to many sites in Paris. For this reason alone, we chose the Hotel St. Dominique. The rooms are small and we had some difficulty with the shower (sand would clog behind the shower head and reduce the flow -- we had to remove the shower head several times to flush out the sand). Overall, it is a good value for someone looking for price and location.

Great Value, great location, near popular sites, shopping bus lines, and subway lines. Quiet, comfortable room (small by us standards, but larger than the other rooms we had on our visit to Europe). Very helpful people at the front desk. Great bakeries, eateries and shops line the street. We would definately return to this hotel.

This hotel was wonderful in every way. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out there was not one time when I was unsatisfied. The hotel couldn't have been in a better location (right near the tower) and the staff was wonderful. The room was cozy and suited all of our needs. Would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I were impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel, especially its toilets. We loved its general location because the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful.

Excellent location, easy trip to metro, samllish room (but this is typical of European hotels) which was immaculate and quiet! Friendly service, and the staff spoke English (very helpful!). Lots of cafes, bars, banks etc plus a wonderful restaurant and a delicious bakery on the opposite side of the street. All complete with the Eiffel Tower dominating the street skyline, I will definitely be recommending this hotel to friends and hpefully staying there again.

The hotel was really nice. The room was small but very comfortable. The location of the hotel is excellent as it is near all the sites especially if you fancy an evening stroll along the seine or a quick visit to the Eiffel Tower. There are a few very nice restaurants near by also and an Irish bar(bit expensive) just across the road. Really enjoyed my stay .

Hotel could be nice. Anyway cloth on the wall and carpet make it smells old-fashioned.

This was the best hotel I stayed at on this trip to Paris. I wish I had only stayed at Saint Dominique and not wasted my money elsewhere. The area is very safe and clean. The location is fabulous! The staff was friendly and spoke English very well. The rooms were very spacious and clean. And best of all, you really can see the eiffel tower from the hotel. I would recomend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Paris but not pay the big bucks for a hotel room. For the price..this place can't be beat.

The room was a good price for the location. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel was good for our purposes. The neighborhood is fun with many good places to eat and it is easy to get to the city's major attractions from this location.

For my purposes, the rate and location more than made up for any drawbacks. THe neighborhood is a delight, with every shop and amenity one could want. Plus, we could lean out our window and see the Eiffel Tower within walking distance.

room was very small and not much privacy in the ensuite because of a terrible door. however rooms were very clean and well kept and we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. staff spoke good english which was a big help and the hotel is very close to eiffel tower and metro.

Prices in Paris in general seem to have gone up significantly in recent years. I did not expect to pay this much for a 2 star hotel. However the staff on reception were very helpful and the hotel and a relaxed feel about it. I would consider staying again.

Overall we were quite pleased with the hotel. The most pleasant aspect is the location, with wonderful bakeries and cafes within a few steps, easy access to supermarkets for odds and ends, not too far to the Metro, and many restaurants nearby. Rick Steves likes the restaurants in this area, and we agree, but were luke warm on Café Thomieux (?) right across the street; there are better alternatives. The staff was generally pleasant and helpful, enough to overlook some aloofness we encountered at check in. Everyone spoke English with no problem. The room we had was quite small, but not a problem for the amount of time spent in it. (There may be larger rooms, but we were content to stay put.) The bathroom was up to date and not cramped. Our room faced the courtyard and was quiet. Prices are above those posted on the hotel’s web site, but were accurate to what we agreed upon, and no hidden charges, and apparently no charge for local phone calls. Be careful that breakfast is not included. We found it more fun to walk out on the street for a light breakfast – lots of choices! While this hotel isn’t easily accessible to the RER, they arranged a van service for only 35 Euros to de Gaulle, much better than 60 Euros for on the cab ride to the hotel. Massachusetts Couple

A fantastic hotel situated right in the heart of Paris. The rooms, although small were comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. The staff were friendly and overall I'm sure we will return.

The hotel is very cute and located in the perfect place. The only problem we had was that when we checked out we found out that breakfast wasn't included (even if it was advertised as included). This wasn't a pleasant surprise (~$8 each/day). When we tried to explain in English that the breakfast was supposed to be included, the receptionist couldn't understand what we were saying. I would still recommand this cute hotel to everybody!
