Neighborhood was a little seedy, but the convenience to metro and various sites was excellent. The staff was excellent, as good as I've seen in any 3 or 4 star hotels in Europe. The hotel was very nice physically, though the elevator is quite small as is true in most Parisian hotels. The room was nice and quiet and the A/C worked well. I will go back in a heartbeat.

Truly great choice near Arc d Triumphe (sp). Old feel but remodeled in 2002?? Great sites, metro, restaurants walking distance. Checked out rates and hotels nearby; this was the very best value at $155E in June. will be back.

This is a beautiful hotel located on a quiet side street just 2 minutes from Arc De Triomphe. The rooms are lovely and staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is €12 each but worth it, large selection of fresh pastries, cereals, meats, cheese etc and all delicious...and serves until 12pm which is great if want to have a sleep in! Felt that even though the hotel is excellent, the rates are a bit pricy, but still was an excellent stay.

Excellently situated for access from Charles de Gaulle Etoile Metro/RER, and close to Avenue des Champs-Elysees. Expensive by UK standards, but to be expected because of location and quality. Design of building allows for good sized family rooms on each of hotel's floors with a main bedroom with a good sized double-bed and second room, with access to en-suite bathroom, with a double sofa-bed. Both rooms have television. Continental breakfast choice was excellent. Hotel is situated in a quiet side street and there are many large and small restaurants nearby, as well as a McDonalds if you're on a budget. There's also a well-stocked small local supermarket nearby.

Staff were exceptionally helpful during the booking process giving good advice on suitablity of rooms for our family. Pleasant and smiling reception staff - extremely helpful when we wanted to leave our bags on the day of departure. Junior suite was excellent for our family although shower did leak over the floor due to a faulty seal. Surrounding area had a wealth of interesting restaurants, try Cafe of the Angels in the next steeet - superb. Didn't try breakfast in the hotel but found a wonderful cafe about 200 metres away which serves delicious hot chocolate. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visitng Paris.

Royal Magda Etoile suited our needs perfectly. We wanted a location close to Arc de Triomphe that would be quiet and easy to get to from Charles de Gaulle airport. All our needs were met. Although only a 3 star hotel, it was competitively priced for Paris and in a superb position. The "Trip Adviser" high rating was fully justified. The whole place was beautifully presented and the continental breakfast was served from a spotless clean kitchen. No atmosphere or activity in the Hotel just a place to sleep comfortably. The road was incredibly noisy overnight and the aircon was not on, so open windows had to be at minimum opening for maximum airflow! All staff excellent and helpful, quiet and polite. A hotel for mature travellers, rather than revellers, which suited us fine. Highly recommended. Eurostar was fabulous.

For a weekend in Paris the Royal Magda Etoile was perfect. Location is very central and our room was peaceful and spacious. The staff were polite and helpful. It represents good value for money. My sister and I stayed at the Royal Magda for 2 nights and will definitely stay there again. Our room was spotless, the bathroom modern and new. The Royal Magda Etoile is a beautiful hotel with fabulous service. (Thanks Flore for ALL your help!) The rooms were a good size too with an excellent bed. The bathroom was beautiful and we received the exact room we were promised when we booked nine months earlier. The staff were extremely helpful since neither myself or my husband spoke much French. Wake-up calls were exact and even the chambermaids were cheerful. The hotel itself is only a very short walk from the Arc de Triomphe and a very short walk to the Metro. Plus since this was our very first visit to Paris they were extremely helpful via e-mail in helping make reservations for other venues. We really appreciated that extra added touch. E-mails were always returned promptly. The hotel was also very quiet. If you are a fan of the Champs-Elysees area this is a wonderful hotel to stay in. Worth every Euro.

We found the hotel excellant value for money and ideally situated for the metro, rail and airport bus. The hotel was a bit difficult to find from information provided and a map printed from internet did not show the name of the street. Bedroom was a double bedroom with bath and shower and was a good size. Wouldn't have wanted bedroom with shower only as these were considerably smaller. Breakfast was good and plentiful, if slightly on the expensive side. Public areas could be brightened up and leopard skin pattern carpets in all public areas were outdated. Would certainly stay there again and thoroughly recommend it.

Brief walk to L'arc de triumphe. Underground parking nearby. All sorts of shopping, bars & restaurants, but my overall impression of the area was brought down by the McDonalds that we had to walk by on the way to the Champs Elysse. Subways were close & convenient. My only beef was the price, but it might be totally typical of the area, I don't know. Staff were excellent & the overall look of the lobby was classy.

Rooms were clean, modern, and small by US standards, nevertheless the central location near the Arc de Tr. makes up for minor inconveniences. Hotel has excellent location near bus, train and major avenues. Of course, the daily rate was low for a major european city.

We booked into this hotel for 1 night whilst in Paris. Upon our arrival, the receptionist informed us that we had been upgraded to one of the suites. This extremely spacious and quiet room would normally be double the price of the one we had booked, so we were obviously delighted. the location is fantastic - 1 minutes walk from the Arc De Triomphe and associated underground station. The rest of central Paris can easily be accessed from here. There are also a good selection of bars and restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk. Overall an excellent place from which to base your trip. I would definitely return to this hotel.

The staff at the hotel was great. Well they moved us to another hotel because there was an overbooking. But when we arrive the receptionist (who was already off her working hours) had been waiting for us to tae us to the other hotel. she made sure we well properly accommodated, I believe we even got an upgrade (although we could not tell because the room was so small). In any case we were treated very well.

Stayed for four nights in Paris. The hotel location and price is great (paid 96 euros/night), just two blocks from Arc de Triomphe and subway. There is a GB Express (grocery store) 2 blocks away - walk out of lobby make a left from hotel and then a right down the block; bear right and go down a flight of stairs; cross street; store on your right. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND staying here again unless there's no one staying next to or above your room. Too much noise from the other occupants (contrary to website, not soundproof): sounds of doors banging constantly in the morning/night due to their close proximity and kids talking/yelling late at night. No remedy; hotel is just too small. Rooms are tiny but very clean. Don't be fooled by the website: the room pictured with the sloping roof is the junior suite; it's tiny. Elevator is extremely small - about 9 sq ft, no kidding. Staff is very nice and their English is excellent, but not knowledgeable of the area - the guy didn't know about the GB Express two blocks away but only knew of Monoprix on Champs Elysees 1/2 mile away. Having a car is worth it, especially in August when street parking is free in Paris.

The hotel is nice and cosy and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Also, the location is quite good: central but off the noisy main streets. Room size: Imagine a double bed plus about 75 cm to walk around it - that would give you a pretty accurate measure. Also, it's an old building and so you will hear pretty much everything that's going on in the neighbour rooms.

Having visited six hotels in our European trip this hotel was the most beautiful. The room was fantastic. A family with children aged 14 & 11. there was enough space to get by. There are many eating places within a block. Mc Donalds, Coissant eatery and regular breakfast. A laundry was also within walking distance. The underground was next to the Arc de Tri. which was only two blocks away. Beautiful hotel which we would stay in again and we recommend it to anyone.

Located close to a Metro stop, as well as the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Elysees. Easy access to other Paris sights. Family suite was reasonably large and comfortable for family of 4 (2 teenagers). The hotel had to close few days before we left, due to unplanned safety works to be performed. The hotel management was absolutely prompt to offer us a highly satisfying solution, by getting us hosted in a luxury 4-star hotel in the same zone at the same price too. Therefore, I can not rate the hotel because I was not accommodated there. But for sure, I can and want to praise the hotel management for their courtesy and promptness to find a solution of total satisfaction for us. It's worth underlining as we are not a kind of frequent customer, so they could have just ignored our problem, or find a lower-class alternative accommodation. Instead, they demonstrated a real customer attitude and commitment. For this reason, even though I couldn't try the Royal Magda Etoile, I recommend the same to stay there, because the management's attitude is the n.1 factor. Moreover, the hotel will be renewed, and the zone is very favourable to enjoy Paris: close to Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees, multiple metro stations available and different public (even if expensive) parking lots close to the hotel for your car.

Well located hotel - just a stones throw from the Arc Du Triumph and the plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was lovely - particularly the bedroom rather than the decor of the bathroom. Opted out of breakfast - didn't think it was worth 12 Euros. The hotel was just as described. It is very near the metro station and very convinient. The employees were very helpful and polite. We were pleasantly suprised to find the Hotel was exactly as advertised and right on price. We had a great family room, ie one bed room and the lounge room doubled as a bed for two kids. The staff were fantastic and could not do enough to help, particularly when my wife's purse was stolen on the Metro. They could not do enough to help and were vital in overcoming the language issues. Thanks Ingrid, you wre a life saver. Also, this holtel was well priced and close to where buses arrive/depart from/to Beaueve Airport. Would highly recommend.
