Plaza Etoile (Emeraude hotel) - Paris

In reality what occurred can be summarized as follows: 1. at check in the assigned room showed consistent cracks of the plaster of the ceiling. The very kind lady who had checked us in let as see other rooms, same price, after we refused upgrade at cost, to choose among. The only room without ceiling plaster cracks was the 401. The explanation was that "the hotel was soon to be refurbished"; 2. After the second night, we asked if we could have glasses to rinse our mouths after tooth brushing instead of being acrobatic to sip water from the mini washbasin in the bathroom; 3. The temperature control in the room did not allow any guest control. The reception intervention could but confirm that. At the quite surprising question “where you cold?” to which I should have answered that when I pay I have no obligation to justify my personal needs but politely told that coming out of the shower in the morning the room felt cold. The comment was that "the hotel was soon to be refurbished"; 4. During the third night the uncivilized guest of the room 402, joined by some one else, were extremely loud and noisy, shouting and banging until two thirty in the morning. Leaving the hotel to go for my meeting, I informed reception about. Answer was that they would have asked the guests of room 402 not to disturb until late at night; 5. On our way out for dinner, same day, at 19:00 hours, by the elevator, the door marked as extinguisher and danger of electrical shock, a tall, young person in a dark trench coat with a small back pack on, started picking into it as we got into the elevator. We informed reception who noted our report still having no clue of what we were talking about. Returning from dinner, we asked reception about our report and the answer was that it wa

Arrived quite late and the man at reception was more interested in organising a taxi firm to take us to the airport on our departure i showed him my flight details and he assured me we were the last ones to be picked up at 6.30, but he had other customers at 7pm and put our checking in to the plane on a very fine line, so be aware of this extremely "good Deal" as you may end up missing your flight. The rooms were a bit small, but the location was very handy to the Arc

This hotel is ok for a 1 or 2 night stay but any longer than that then I would go elsewhere. The bedrooms are small and the bathroom even smaller - there isn't room to swing a cat in the shower so if you are not a slim person, you will have trouble with the shower. Locationwise it is very good and within walking distance of most of the sights.

Stayed 4 nights in hotel, (October 2008) excellent location, room small but ok for length of stay, very clean. Breakfast a bit basic but ok. Staff pleasant and helpful. Would definately recommend this hotel for a long weekend break.

Samll rooms, but very tidy.

Overall the experience was good, however, after a short trip away from Paris came back to discover there was a problem with the floor I was on and I had to be moved to a hotel nearby. I was less pleased with this hotel, particularly when trying to obtain wifi service.

This was our first visit to Paris and we throughly enjoyed it. The Location of the hotel is fantastic, everything is within walking distance, although it is on a busy noisy street, when we arrived we passed the hotel by as it was covered in plastic and scaffolding. They were painting the outside this was a bit offputting, but we were pleasantly surprised when we went in and seen our room. The only downside was the shower was tiny as was the room but it was very clean and we had a nice view of the eiffel tower. I would recommend the hotel, for a short break.

THE HOTEL IS PERFECTLY SITUATED WITH THE ARC DE TRIOMPHE ONLY A STONES THROW AWAY WELL INSIGHT OF THE HOTEL ENTRANCE AND THE CHAMPS ELYSEES IS ONLY 2 MINUTES WALKING DISTANCE. ATM + METRO NEARBY ALSO. IDEAL FOR A SHORT GETAWAY WITH A PARTNER.
