The hotel is a little more tired than the impression you get from the photos, with some appliances (especially the kitchenette and the bathroom) looking particularly worn in places, but it's all clean, and the housekeeping was conducted daily, which was a pleasant extra over the course of a four night stay. Despite asking for a twin room, I was allocated a double (a fold out sofa bed which wasn't the most comfortable), but other than that, we were very happy with the staff, who were pleasant thoughout. The Wi-Fi was said to only be free in the foyer and chargeable in the rooms, but having connected to the network downstairs, I continued to get very good coverage in our fourth floor room. The suburb is quite calm by Parisien standards, with the road itself a pleasantly quiet street at night, which means that whilst the internal soundproofing isn't brilliant, you're not disturbed by anything from outside. The location is excellent for sightseeing on foot, with the Moulin Rouge about 10 mins to the east (a very straightforward walk) and the Parc Monceau slightly nearer to the west - it's a lovely place in the sunshine with countless joggers, families using the play area and children enjoying pony rides. It also makes for an excellent cut through if you want to see the Arc de Triomphe, which comes into view as you leave the park. If arriving by Metro from the Gare du Nord direction, Rome is ever so slightly further away than Villiers but is easier for getting your bearings. There's a very basic supermarket about 30 seconds walk from the hotel if you turn left (you can't see it from the hotel due to other buildings in the way) which is ideal for stocking up the fridge in the room, whilst the bar at the southern end of the road is a handy bet for a drink at under 4 euros per pint before 8pm (as of February 2014).

WE a "young" 60+ yrs couple had not so great expectations having read all the experiences others have had. So the first impressions of the reception and the room were W O W ! GREAT! The room even small as it was suited us perfectly. Warm water daily. A quality Otis lift was very appreciated as we got a room on the 5th floor. We had a hair dryer in our room. This was not mentioned on the list given by the hotel. If there is one in every room, it should absolutely be mentioned on the hotel pages. As we were on the street side of the building, a wake up was guaranteed at 7 am.daily by the Paris Cleaning workers and cars. We thought it a good thing. It is a waste to come to Paris and just sleep. The surroundings was a good part of the hotel. - at over 10 restaurants in just a few minutes walking distance. And lots of bigger and smaller shops in every taste. Good food shops, patisseries (bakery) of high quality products. You can leave most of hometaking goodies to your last day of visit. We never took the petit-dejeuner (morning coffee) at the hotel, so we know nothing about that. Metro station Villiers in a short walking distance. The surroundings are safe for strolling around. This is an excellent base for getting to know Paris. And the reception desk people help you with everything, if they don't know something they will look for it on the internet. Very good. And naturally they speak a good english!

We arrived approx 12:15 Room was not ready until 14:00 We went for a walk and came back at approx 15:15. Room key could not be found for about 10 minutes. We were asked to sign a registration form that was not available in English. Before we went for the walk they said that our bags would be put in the room before we returned - this was not done. We were on the 6th floor and the carpet on the corridor was stained and had holes worn in it. The stairs were carpeted but the wood on either side was scratched and unkept. Apart from the worn out features the stairs and corridor were generally clean but it did create a bad first impression of the place. The room was very small. Having a microwave and two cooking rings were great BUT no kettle to boil water to make tea/coffee Only one glass - repeatedly asked for a second but never got it Two cereal bowls Only one spoon - repeatedly asked for a second but never got it We used the well used pot to boil water Fridge was clean and great to have. The BED this was the worst part of our six day holiday. It was a fold away bed and I am 5' 11" and my feet overhung and with no headboard woke up many times with the little pillow lost down the back of the bed. As advertised there was no air conditioning but there was a tower fan, I think this was the "De Lux" feature of the room - this had to be plugged into the only spare power socket hidden behind the bed and difficult to access. We had three phones + two camera's + a navigation unit all needing to be charged which meant having to wake up every couple of hours to change over the chargers. The bathroom was.small - shower size was OK for us BUT the ventilation was not great - no windows - and two people with normal motions made it a bit unpleasant - towels were changed every day. We asked for a room with a view - the view was that of roof tops and back yards and a very distant view of the Eiffle Tower which was a little more obvious when it was lit up at night.

This is a typical small Paris hotel, located on a small side street near Montmartre. A six storey, building with an elevator and a small breakfast room in the basement. The rooms and bathrooms are very small and do not have air conditioning, but do have a tiny kitchen area with a fridge and microwave. The staff were friendly and helpful. The nearest Metro is Villiers, a five minute walk away. Numerous good, inexpensive restaurants are nearby, as well as a Monoprix food store. As a place to sleep and shower, this hotel is fine, but for longer stays may be too limited.

Fantastic location - next to many shops and the Rue de Levis is lined with shops setting fresh produce, food and clothing. Room was not as big as the photo appeared. Apart from beds very limited space for anything else. However, for two only the rooms are absolutely fine and good value for money.

The hotel has an excellent location in a nice area, next to many small restaurants,a morning market,Metro station (which has 2 different lines comming to it). The stuff was very helpful with every request. the breakfast was medium (No omlett, but with fresh pasteries) the room is very small especially the shower which is tiny. the refrigerator is quite large, plates/glasses/cutlery are supplied. the walls are VERY THIN, you can hear everything.

Buon residence con stanze piccole ma molto pulite.L'unica cosa antipatica è stato trovarlo perchè la cartina non è molto d'aiuto,si arriva facilmente fino alla fermata della metro Villiers poi si deve per forza chiedere dove si trova la via.

Very reasonable hotel for people who are not going to spend all the time in hotel room but have arrived to visit Paris sights. Good location - all the art, entertainment, and shopping areas are accessible by feet (max 25 min.). There are food store, fruit/vegetable market, cafes/restaurants, metro near hotel. Kitchen accessories included in room equipment allow to prepare a meal whenewer any time you wish. Good price for the quality and services provided.

The best aspect of this hotel is the location - it's in a wondeful neighborhood with a nearby daily street market, lots of small shops and restaurants, and a relatively close metro station (Villiers about two blocks away). The breakfast at the hotel (included in the price we paid - 69 euros per night) was surprisingly good. As others have noted, the rooms are very small - when extended the sofa bed pretty much fills the entire room. The bed was more comfortable than it looked although it was rather squeaky. You can hear noise from the halls but we were O.K. sleeping with ear plugs. The bathroom was quite nice although also cramped. If you're large or not particularly limber, the bathroom could be a problem. All of the desk workers spoke English quite well. The room service was good but they don't clean the kitchen area. The kitchen isn't particularly well stocked (for example, we had only one fork and there's nothing for cleaning dishes). We had two complaints about the hotel. First, we wanted to extend our stay one extra night but were told that we would have to pay more than the Internet rate (99 euros instead of 69). We ended up moving to a different hotel that night. The more significant complaint was that upon checking out we were charged 91 euros for phone calls! We made about four calls to AirFrance at CDG Airport (which lost our luggage for a few days) and about six or seven short calls to a friend on the other side of Paris. The woman at the desk said that calls to cell phones in France are very expensive. Our friend (who lives part-time in France) said it is true that calls to cell phones are more expensive in France than in the U.S. but that to be charged 91 euros for our phone calls was just a rip-off, plain and simple. So, we were generally happy with the hotel - until checking out. I would definitely stay in the neighborhood again but I would seek another hotel after getting ripped off with the phone calls.

Consigliatissimo

We loved the area where the hotel was located. There were lots of shops open till evening and there was a metro station really close. It was a lovely neighbourhood. The hotel was very quiet and we enjoyed an excellent breakfast everyday. The recepcionists were very helpful and friendly. Despite being the apartment quite small, we had everything necessary for our stay, such as the kitchen and fridge. And we had an incredible view of the Eiffel Tower!!!

No airconditioning in rooms. If you ask a few times, they will provide table fans but they are not very great either. Make sure you discuss sizes of all rooms available. Rooms within the same price range have different sizes. One we stayed was so small that if we had to lay down our suitcases, you had to fold the sofa bed (which was the only thing available for a bed). Loction is good and staff is fairly helpful. if you are travelling with luggage, I would suggest taking an airport shuttle as against the metro.
