Excellent location. The room size was about as expected for Paris. Our only complaint would be that the lighting in the room was very inadequate - it was quite dark even with all lights turned on. The staff was helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

The man at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The room was OK - the balcony a nice suprise. The bathroom was clean, but there was no shower curtain. Everything in the bathroom got wet when taking a shower. Also the towel rack was cheap. It broke when we tried to hang up towels for drying.

Francois, the concierge, and the woman who presided over the breakfast room, were friendly and eager to be of service. When we complained that the room we were given was uncomfortably small (welcome to Paris!) and poorly furnished, we were offered a top-floor room which was a significant improvement in both respects. Francois brought up a quiet electric heater when a cold snap antedating the date on which the hotel heat would be turned on had us ready to move to another hotel. He also sent up a bottle of wine and a fresh bouquet to make amends. The chamber maids kept the room clean. Finally, however, the quarters were cramped, okay, perhaps, for the young in body or heart, but tedious for us. This was about our 12th trip to Paris and apartment rental has nearly always been more comfortable than a hotel, unless one is willing to cough up $300+ a night. Would we return? No.

Although the room was small (since hotel rooms in Paris are small), it worked well for us. The room was stylish and functional. We had a balcony which was nice because we got croissants and had them sitting there for breakfast. It's really close to 2 metro stations in a good area for eating and shopping and just walking around. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd use this hotel again.

Spent 5 nights at Hotel Rivioli. Had a fantastic time. Beds very comfortable, linen spotless. We had a room at the front and with the double glazing there was no traffic noise at all. The reception staff were all very helpful, as we were there to see the last stage of the Tour of France they told us how to get there by metro as there was no buses running. The location is superb right in the middle of the Maris. Hotel would suit almost everbody. The air conditioning was and big plus as it was 43 degrees on one day. Would definitely go back.

I was very pleased with the location, as I wanted to be in easy walking distance of Place des Vosges,Centre Pompidou, and Notre Dame--it was perfect. Every convenience is located within two blocks either side--I enjoyed getting a good hair-trim at Coif Salon across the street from La Tartine (#24 rue de Rivoli),a photo worthy old wine bar with delicious open-faced sandwiches. Also, ATM's on either side of hotel entrance! The weekend desk receptionist, Francois, was extremely pleasant and helpful. My double bed room located on backside of hotel was better than average size for Paris, and the bathroom was very modern and spacious with natural lighting. There was Saturday night partying to compete with with windows open, but once closed and AC on, it was quiet enough. The room view of adjacent rooftops and a cooing pigeon every morning was unique. I had petite dejeuner in room one morning with fresh pastries, cheese, yogurt, juice and good coffee. It was easy to make arrangements for transportation to CDG airport --a congenial young man drove me in an immaculate private car with lovely music for a better rate than I've paid for Taxi's! Merci to all at Hotel Paris Rivoli!

the hotel was covered with a scaffolding and heavy fabric cover on the facade. I had asked for a front room but changed to a back room. the room was not very clean. the sheets and towels were ok but the room itself was not clean. I wiped it down with a baby wipe. we had to ask for glasses and a few other items I forget. our room looked out to an unpleasant inner courtyard. the heaters did not work and we only got cnn and a few german chanels on tv. the bkfst was ok with the usual. the coffee was generous and good 7 euros or maybe 8 per day. the staff was pleasant and responded to requestst quickly. the director at the desk was helpful as to info on buses etc. the 18 euro per person shuttle to the airport was a big plus. my friend left her bag on the shuttle and between info at the airport and the hotel desk it is being taken care of.

My daughter (15) and myself stayed at this hotel for four nights and loved it. The room was bright and airy with two large windows and a small balcony. The room was clean and the bathroom was spacious with bath/shower and clean towels every day. The room overlooked the busy Rue de Rivoli, however, we were not bothered by the noise as the windows were double glazed and had thick curtains which cut down the noise and we slept well. The hotel is ideally situated near the metro and within walking distance of Notre Dame, the Siene and has many restaurants, supermarkets and bakeries on its doorstep, excellent food at nearby Rue des Rosiers. The staff were all lovely and very helpful, special thanks for arranging a shuttle bus to CDG at short notice. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. Super!

I had come to France to visit my unwell older brother but also to revisit Paris. The hotel is in a charming old building with five small rooms to a floor. It is five stories high but has a small elevator. The price seemed reasonable compared to other web offerings. Our room was tiny with a double mattressed bed, bedside tables and a desk. The bathroom was reasonable sized, with a tub/shower combo. Since it was off a main thoroughfare, it was noisy. The desk clerks were all very friendly and helpful. All knew English very well. Some seemed to be American. There were World Telegram newspapers in the lobby every day, but no English language channels on the TV. There is a small restaurant for breakfast and a coffee maker in the room, but it was resupplied only once during our weeks stay. The main attraction was the convenience of the hotel. It was in the old section of Paris, near the Seine, Metro, RER (the railway to Versailles), Notre Dame, other main tourist sites, restaurants, a super market, a large department store, etc. We bought a five day ticket on the Batobus (boat) for 20 euros and boarded at the nearby Hotel de Ville stop for places too far to walk, while traveling at a more picturesque and leisurely pace than the tourist buses. Of interest to Jewish travelers, the hotel is near the cluster of kosher restaurants on the Rue des Rosiers, the Memorials de la Shoah and the Deported, the Museum of the Art and History of the Jews of Paris, synagogues, etc.

Stayed there for one night (arrived late, left early) for (my own) business reasons. I am overall satisfied with my choice. I chose the place for the location, price and positive reviews. Location was excellent for me and is very good considering it's so close to Marais and many other attractions. Another thing I much enjoyed was breakfast (very nice breakfast room with big window on rue rivoli and good croissants). Personally my room did not give me the idea of extreme cleanliness (this however happens often in paris with carpet on the floor, etc. and a spot on the bedcover didn't help; rooms are obviously not brand new; but on the other hand the bathroom was very clean and new), but considering the price, overall I feel they really have an extremely good value for the price. Very nice staff. Will definetely go there again if they keep this competitive price.

We booked a room for 3 persons, and was given a double bedded room with extra bed. the extra bed took the rest of floor space available, so there was no place even to move without climbing over the beds. Definately no space to put the luggage and suitcases. This hotel has in fact no rooms for 3 persons and should not bed annnounced as it. The location was perfect for a weekend in Paris.

Superlative helpful staff - clean & neat rooms (small but normal for this kind of property). The location is incredibly convenient: in the Marais shopping district, just a block from a Metro stop on Line 1, within 10 minutes stroll of Notre Dame/Ile de Cite, and plenty of places to eat nearby. The hotel restaurant is terrific for breakfast. Rue de Rivoli is a busy street, but the windows shut out almost all the noise. We'll be back on our next Paris stay...

The location was great, the staff were excellent, but when we asked for the hot water/ plumbing to be fixed, no result. Also all the doors creaked like crazy, so when the next door neighbours left / entered their room or used their bathroom at night, we were woken up - the maintenance was not good - which negated the highlights. We had a balcony which was fabulous too - they just need some attention to their household maintenance and it would be 10/10

I have stayed in Paris several times but never before at the Hotel Paris Rivoli. I would be quite happy to stay there again. It was exactly what I expected of a fairly well positioned hotel in Paris for the price paid. The staff were efficient and pleasant, able to speak good English but communicating in French if you wanted to try out your (in my case rusty) language skills. The room was clean and tidy with a better-sized bathroom than you usually get in Paris hotels - not huge but big enough to dry yourself without having to stand in the bath! Although the bedroom was quite small and compact, it didn't feel too cramped. There was a television (if you really wanted to watch it) but the volume was limited to such an extent that it was almost impossible to hear. All in all, I got what I paid for and was perfectly satisfied. The hotel is ideally located for Le Marais, being just across the road from the bottom of rue Vielle du Temple (into the heart of the district - a very interesting area: lots of good restaurants and {chiefly gay} bars) and only a short walk away from Place des Vosges and Bastille. The St Paul area is also worth a visit. It is also very close to the Hotel de Ville so it is possible to get off the Metro there or Saint Paul as it is more or less equidistant.

I stayed at this hotel with my daughter (17 years old) for 4 nights in January. It was a basic room, just twin beds and TV, but the bathroom was very modern, and the room was very clean. The location is great, an easy walk to Notre Dame and the Marais area. The staff was very helpful with requests such as train schedules and car rental information.
