We stayed 3 nights in a triple room since the photos did not let us believe that a baby bed would fit in a double room. The price is exaggerated, 169€+10€ breakfast per person= 189€ for a 2 star hotel...... Even if the hotel is well located, and clean, we will not go back because of the price

It was an enjoyable stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming as well as English-speaking. Hotel location was very convenient for Gare du Lyon - only 5 mins walking and easy to find. I arrived by Eurostar at Gare du Nord and it was only 3 stops on the RER. It was a safe location and there were amenities nearby (supermarket etc.). Luggage storage facility at hotel was very useful. My room was very comfortable and cosy. Not a large room but that didn't worry me. This was probably the cleanest hotel room I'd ever had! Shower was really good and looked brand new. Enjoyed coming back here after a long day of sightseeing. Only downside was the wifi didn't work in my room for skyping. It worked for everything else though! I definitely would stay here again,

The location is excellent, so close to Gare de Lyon, but set back a little on a side street, which makes it quieter. I was not very satisfied with the breakfast. Would have preferred to pay more and to get more: better coffee, eggs, cheese, fresh fruit, whole wheat bread, etc. Front desk person kindly arranged airport transportation for me, in a mini-bus. atmosphere quite friendly and pleasant.

Excellent stay. Friendly staff. Room was about as roomy as expected. Service was excellent. Staff at main desk was very helpful and comfortable conversing in both English and French. View of the square was very nice from the window. Gare de Lyon is a very busy station. Short trip to the center of Paris. Beautiful from the outside, but the train station below is not one of the cleaner ones in Paris....lots of trash. Noisy at night as you'd expect. Bathroom was configured for bathing, not showering, as is typical in Paris. Not a big concern for us. Could hear guests in adjacent rooms very clearly, but not a big issue, either. An excellent place to stay for the price.

The stay at teh Hotel Palym was excellent, the hotel was fantastic, staff very helpful, especially since our French was far from perfect. The room had high ceilings, a traditional fireplace and a window that opens out to a small balcony, lovely. I am very surprised it classed at a 2 star hotel given the quality. It is also on a main underground (metro) line which i didn't know before booking but means it is simple to get to anywhere you need to go. The destination itself it also quite central so also good to explore my foot. It is also a main train station so again perfect for an overnight stay if travelling within France. Loads of cafes and restaurants round about as well as supermarkets, banks, post office etc.

The hotel has a nice location, just 50 meters from Gare de Lyon metro station, and there are several groceries, cafes and restaurants in the vicinity. Our room had adequate space for my family of 4, but with each of us having 2 bags each, every bit of space was occupied. The bathroom was surprisingly of adequate space considering how small European bathrooms go. There is a lift available which is excruciatingly slow. For the price paid, you would think breakfast should have been included but unfortunately it wasn't...but I guess Paris hotels in general don't come cheap.

Apparently, we were given one of the handicap rooms, even though we are not handicapped. Therefore, the room and bathroom were probably more spacious than a "normal" room. However, since we were at sidewalk level, we could not use or see out of the window... (unless you wanted to be an exhibitionist) therefore, the curtains were always closed. It was like living in a cave! But the worst thing was that the sewage drainage pipes were also routed through the room within three feet of the bed, which meant that whenever someone flushed the toilet or used the shower on the floors above us... we heard all that drainage noise!

I picked this hotel from the web sites because of it's location to the train station Gere de Lyon, and it's price range. However I didn't realize the neighbor hood the hotel was located in is a bit on the rough side, with a lot of people urinating and relieving them selves in public places and sidewalks. I didn't expect to see that sort of behavior in Paris of all places. Other than that the hotel was OK.

Staff attitude much improved from our previous stay in May, except a female receptionist did not inform us our booked vehicle was waiting. Shower arrangement in our room was very poor, as there was no screen, and it was nearly impossible not to saturate the entire bathroom. A new male employee was very helpful in solving a window problem. Great location, being close to Gare de Lyon, but improvement in dealing with the guests still necessary.

The staff here speaks excellent English and offers helpful suggestions about public transit. The one issue that we've seen in a lot of French hotels (including this one) is that the shower doesn't have a shower curtain, so water can splash out. Besides that, this is a great hotel with a great location next to a subway line (and Gare de Lyon) and a 15 minute walk from Gare d'Austerlitz.

Only two coat hangers in wardrobe and on asking for more, the receptionist could only find two more. Could provide more pillows, possibly two per guest, we had three not very good quality pillows. Lighting in bedroom was poor, we had a narrow enclosed courtyard outside which did not allow any natural light so we had to have the single wall light and both lamps on at all times. Bathroom was very small and w.c. seat was loose. Receptionist could not direct us towards the Left Bank district, had never heard of it.

First time in Paris. The hotel was pretty cheap compared to others we researched. The location was great. Steps away from a major train station and many restaraunts. The room was quite small which we expected so we weren't disappointed. Two problems were as follows: zero noise insulation. Slamming doors, vacumes in the morning and general noise was prominent. Second issue was breakfast. Noticed a continental breakfast off the lobby. Ate there thinking it was free. Our mistake, it was 8 euros per person per day and was basically coffee and croissants. Avoid that trap if possible. Finally don't try to check in early. Even if your room is ready they won't let you check in. Very strange. All in all good value but some caveats.

I have been to Paris several times and this hotel was a pleasant surprise for me. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, the hotel location is excellent, though it is next to Gare de Lyon, the area is far better and safer than Gare du Nord/Gare de l'Est. What is negative - small rooms, no wardrobe in my room (my colleague had one anyway), only hangers but I survived it somehow. Overall this was well worth for the money I paid, I would recommend to anybody not addicted to luxury.

Excellent location across from Gare de Lyon. The room and large (for Paris) bathroom were impeccably clean. Unfortunately, our room - Room 1 - had the drain outlet column for the floors above running through it in a cupboard right by the bed. Every time anyone flushed a toilet or drained a basin anywhere above us, the sound of rushing water woke us at all hours of the night. At 5.00 am, a delivery of clean linen to the hotel took place - with much banging and shouting - right outside our window. Our overall impression of the hotel was that it was clean and well-run but - after a sleepless night - we would warn any guest NOT to accept Room 1, if it were offered. Rooms elsewhere in the hotel may well be absolutely OK and, had we been staying more than one night, we would definitely have requested a change.

We were very pleased with the hotel, the quality of the hotel and the standard of service were very high. One thing to mention is the classic French breakfast - which was not inclusive - which isn't as comprehensive or cohesive as hotel breakfasts we've enjoyed in Berlin, Amsterdam or Rome. With the Gare de Lyon over the road and restuarants like Les Garnements nearby, perhaps better value could be found elsewhere.

The Palym is very close to Gare Lyon which was very good for us as we were traveling by train and this was our first visit to Paris. Now that we have discovered that the metro system has no peer in our experience, we will probably stay elsewhere in the city should we return someday. The only drawback to the Palym for us was that the air conditioning system is centrally controlled and the evenings were exceptionally warm and uncomfortable in our rooms making sleep difficult. If you leave your windows open to get some relief, you get swamped by all the street noise especially near the train station.

Really enjoyed my 4 night stay at the Palym at the end of May 2012 and will stay there again the next time I am in Paris. I was in a small-ish single room, but plenty large enough for a solo traveller. Bathroom / bedroom spotlessly clean. I found the shower cubicle quite small and I am no more than average height/weight. Nevertheless this was not a major problem. The bathroom itself was a reasonable size. Staff very friendly, helpful, and this was a major plus. So a big thanks to all of the staff at the Palym. Hotel is opposite the Gare de Lyon station so very handy for getting around Paris. Surrounding area is safe, busy until late at night with plenty of bars/resturants so would never go hungry/thirsty. Big thank you again to the Palym. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

We were given the accessible room (not our request) which meant for spacious room and very spacious bathroom; it was next to the breakfast room, so it also probably would be noisy after 7:00. We had an early train out so didn't find out. The location near Gare de Lyon train station was perfect! The hotel is very well situated for those who come to Paris by train. There's is also a metro station next to it. Although it's nearby a busy street rooms are quiet and you don't hear the traffic. The staff is welcoming. There are a few cafés /restaurants just in front of the train station (Gare de Lyon)where you can enjoy a nice breakfast, lunch or dinner. In a parallel street there's a little super market if you need to buy anything. The hotel itself is maybe not attractive for those who want to spend a romantic weekend in a beautiful surrounding but if you come to visit Paris and you look for a decent place to sleep I would recommend it without hesitation. I think the quality for the price is good.

Very nice and helpful staff. The walls seemed rather thin, but noise was from other guests, not from the outside. It is too far from the city center to walk to most sites easily, but it is across the street from a train station and subway station, and very close to another train station/subway station. Local restaurants were good. We had trouble with the wi-fi kicking us off often, and the tub wasn't entirely clean at check in. No one could do anything about it until the next day.

After the mix up of rooms was sorted out we had an excellent stay. The family room was spaceous and very comfortable. The hotel was conveniently situated for all areas of Paris (only a short walk to the Bastille and Marais District). Staff were very polite and helpful. We would definately stay again.

More than half of the 3 days we stayed there, the wifi connection didn't work. It seems to me there is not enough IP address for all to use. Other than it, in general the location and value for money are quite good.

The direction to the hotel on the booking confirmation needs to be updated. Instead of taking a direct train from Gare de Norb station to the hotel, we were instructed to change trains etc . Only at our departure from the hotel did we found out that the hotel is only 3 stations away, on a direct line. Overall very pleased with the location and our spacious room. The staff speaks good English and were very helpful and friendly.

Website Directions to hotel from Gare de Lyon not good. Better to advise - Exit by Main Concourse. Also directions from Gare du Nord out of date - change to Take RER Line D. No need to change at Chatelet les Halles or use Metro.

We had a real good stay at Palym Hotel. We had a little problem with french neighbours the second night, because they were really noisy. It was my fault not to call the reception immediately as I was suggested the day after. The other only thin is about breakfast that is a little too expensive for adults but really too much for kids e there is not a distinction of price. Just across the road you can have breakfast for 5.70€ (8,00 in hotel)

conveniently located to public transportation - nice, clean, comfortable room - when they say "only 2 people at a time in elevator", they mean it, though - good restaurants in area - nice, attended breakfast room - good coffee - helpful, friendly staff -

Fantastic hotel. Great location. had quadruple room, very spacious and clean. handy for Gare de Lyon. wonderful Italian restaurant just in the street above round the corner - fantastic. Overall we loved it and are saving to return again. We had breakfast on day one but expensive for 8 euros. Patisserie just round the corner so went there instead! Loads of cafes around. Loved it.

nice place, very clean and modern, staff is very polite and friendly. Nevertheless it's better to take a room that has a street view, because in the yard it's pretty noisy and stinky and it would be more considerable to have a breakfast outside the hotel, cause price doesn't meet the quality of the meal

I stayed in a double size room, spacious enough but not roomy, clean, but noisy at night since it is so close to the train station and the Boulevard, but the good side to it, is that it takes no time to get to the train station with the luggqge, and also the Air France Shuttle stop from CDG airport is only two minutes away. The only one thing I would like to see an improvement is in the quality of the Breakfast.

Thought this hotel was good for what you pay. The room we stayed in was starting to look a bit run down though and will probably need work done in the next couple of years. Had no issue with sound coming in from outside but could hear the guests in the next room talking and laughing at 3am every night! Overall would recommend Palym for a short stay at a good price.

We booked this hotel becasue it is very close to Gare de Lyon where we need to take the train to Avignon. As it turned out, the hotel is fairly nice by 2 stars standard. Only criticism was that the receptionist did not allow us check in even we are only 10 minutes earlier than the scheduled check-in time. However, she was polite. Also this hotel has very spacious luggage rooms seperately for arriving and departing guests and this is a plus.

Location is excellent, 5 mins from the Gare de Lyon, metro and bus stop for airport shuttle. Room abit small for a triple because of space taken up by add-on bathroom(looks like a small hut in the corner of room). The room had an airconditioner and it was certainly an invaluable feature. The neighbourhood was bustling with activities from nearby brasseries, patisseries, restaurants, pharmacy and supermarket. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Truly excellent hotel, with attentive staff and high-quality service. The building looks dull from the outside, but the moment you step in, it feels spacious, comfortable, and relaxing. Also has a very convenient location, with Gare de Lyon a block away, with easy connections to metro, local rail, and even the TGV! Highly recommended.

Desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Kitchen staff (petit dejeuner only) were functional at best. Overall the location, 100 yards from the Gare de Lyon is makes this hotel extremely appealing.

This hotel is best described as great quality for money. It was perfect for our one night stay. Excellent location and the staff were very friendly. We have been to Paris before and have stayed at this hotel before. We would readily stay there again. We also ate at a great Creperie on Rue De Lyon around the corner from the hotel.
