The lady who worked days in the reception area was probably the nicest & most helpful person ever in France. The location of the hotel was fine, not far from Montmartre, in kind of a quiet area. The reception area was nice enough, dining area good & a community computer for e-mail access was most hepful

My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights last week on holidays and just loved the place as it's a good value for your money and most important the staff is very helppful and nice all the time. The only issue is that I recommend if you have much luggage as we did to write the hotel in advance to have a room on the first floor. Although we've stayed on the 3rd floor the staff helped us with the luggage. Location is perfect and I've also stayed at this hotel in March 2011 with my son. I recommend !

This is a quiet hotel situated behind La Fayette. The airport bus stop is in walking distance. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you dont want to use the metro a cab to place de la Concorde will only cost €8.00.I had a lovely stay here.

Visited for 5 nights with a friend following a study abroad program. The staff was incredibly helpful, especially since neither of us spoke French - helped with maps/directions and arranging an early a.m. cab back to the airport on our last day. The hotel is small, but cute - our room included a nice double pane window that opened to the street below with plenty of plugs for laptop charging, and a nice vanity outside of the bathroom. Spacious closet with a safe and a flat screen tv. The only downside is location - the Mogador is cheaper from most Parisian hotels because it's relatively isolated from any major spots and easy to get lost near. We always had a map and still had difficulties finding our way back on several occasions. It's a good 15 minute walk to the Opera House which is the nearest major site with tour bus pick up/easy access to other sites.

I stayed at Hotel Mogador Opera for one night when I returned to Paris in order to fly home. The room was small, which I had expected for the price, but was clean and quite pretty, although there was only a brick wall to see outside the window. Because there is no shower curtain, the showerhead is pointed toward the far wall of the shower, and I had to lean against the wall to get fully under the spray - a little annoying. There was a decent hairdryer in the bathroom though. The staff were quite helpful. There is no elevator, but the staff on duty when I arrived offered to help me carry my luggage up to my room on the 3rd floor. When I asked, the staff were also able to inform me where I could find the closest bank machine, mail box, and place to eat late on a Sunday night. They also booked a taxi to the airport for me. Note that the hotel is closer to the north and east train stations than to Montparnasse. It also cost about 50 euros for my taxi to the airport.

The Hotel is in a 'strategic' position and really close to Metro (lines 7-8-9) and RER. So you can reach easily any museum, church, etc. Besides is possible to get to the beautiful Montmatre (18° arrondissement) in 10/15 minutes on foot. Good breakfast; the staff is very nice.

Clean, nice room. Very quite (window looks into the yard, even if you get room looking to the street you will get rather quite room - not busy street). Opera, Printemps and various attractions are very close to the hotel. Not far from Louvre, metro is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Not tested food (breakfast), prefer to have some fresh baguette with juice in the morning bought around the corner.

A nice little hotel close to Galeries Lafayette and Opera. Quiet and clean neighborhood. Lots of other attractions within walking distance. Plus quite a few restaurant/shops on nearby streets. Closest subway lines are one to two blocks away (Trinite d'Estienne d'Orves (line 12), Chaussee d'Antin Lafayette (lines 7 and 9)). If you're willing to walk a block further you can take RER A at Auber or subway lines 3, 7 and 8 at Opera. Buses are aplenty too. If you fly in/out through Ch. de Gaulle airport Roissybus terminal is within walking distance (rue Scribe at rue Auber). All in all pretty good location. The hotel itself has a very rustic feel to it. Small four story building with five rooms each floor. BEWARE: NO ELEVATOR. That was no big deal for me as I had only a small suitcase with me. If you plan on dragging larger ones you'll have to cope with a very narrow staircase. The room was clean and surprisingly large-ish (for Paris standards). Good TV reception though only French channels. The walls are a little on the thin side but the neighbors were thoughtful enough to keep it down when they came back at the wee hours. Shower and restroom ordinary sized. Street-side rooms are quiet. Still, if you really want to have your peace you should insist on getting a room that overlooks the back. Naturally not much of a scenery there but hey, when in Paris you do not take in the sights from the hotel window, right? Last but not least very helpful folks at the reception. They even offer breakfast included special prices for next stay. I think I will be back to this hotel in the future. Considering the location, the building and price vs quality rate I would say that Mogador deserves a 9 out of 10. Cheers...

Very kindly staff helped us in any request concerning our baby, excellent wide and clean room with king bed, nice decoration and furnishing, the quietness is not so excellent only if you wish to keep the windows opened to breath during night time otherwise it's ok (our room faced the street Rue Victoire so we slept closed). there's non lift, but we were at 1st floor. the area is quiet and safe also because of the Sinagogue very close to the hotel. the hotel is very close to Galerie Lafayette and Opera (200-300 mt) from were you start for any itineraire, the are lots of brasseries and restaurants at your choice at walking distance, Hard Rock Cafè is 300-400 mt far from the hotel, some supermarket is opened also Sunday morning. I strongly suggest you keep in mind the hotel directions from and to airports: take RER+Metro despite taking a bus or a car, because of the traffic during hot hours. In almost 1 hour you'll get to the hotel from Orly by train+metro. Impossible taking less by bus or car. Nice stay for us.

First trip to paris, and was wary of trying to find a decent hotel in a close location for a reasonable price. This one seemed to fit the bill. Got there late on a Friday night. The night clerk didn't speak english very well, but found my reservation and gave us the key, no ID, no credit card ... Got to the room - it was a triple - very spacious, well appointed. One of our party went to take a shower - very little hot water. You had to crank it all the way up to get luke warm. Went to go to sleep on queen bed. The mattress smelled musty and a slight smell of ... urine? All through the night, we could hear neighbors in their rooms talking, yelling, moving desk chairs on tile floors. Did i mention the hair we found in the bathroom and the soap dish? And only two towels for a triple room? Also tried to use the internet - yes free wifi - but no code number in the room, had to run down to get it. When finally gotten, it was VERY weak and intermittent on the 2nd floor. Next morning advised the clerk - who was very helpful, about the water, they said they would advise someone and get it taken care of. Came back that night, good hot water. So ... this place is a 2 star hotel ... and it probably is a two star. The location was very good, the price reasonable, they help pretty good. The cleanliness poor, wifi poor. I probably would hunt for another hotel when i come back to paris.

We were in a family room for four with children aged 15 and 12.Our room was very clean and very comfy but with no aircon it may get stuffy if the weather was really hot. The staff were very helpful, the location was excellent and they even had a very reasonably priced parking space. Being in the banking area of the city meant it was quiet at night and yet close to 3 Metro stations. There was even an Apple shop open 6 days a week just around the corner for free internet access. Had a great stay and would recommend it.

The location was excellent - very central to most of the sights. The staff were very helpful and the room was excellent. It was very quiet and not too far from Gare du Nord station - but I would recommend a taxi if you are dragging a few suitcases. If you only have a backpack it would be about a 20 min walk. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The hotel is good. In Paris summer, where all hotels are selling an 8 m2 room for hundred Euros, it is just one of them. But, if it was not summer, the price would have been unacceptable. The location is excellent. The employees are competent. The public areas are noisy. The rooms are mediocre.

This cosy and clean hotel is perfectly located in the lively area of the Opera and at walking distance from the luxury streets around place Vendome. Very close to 3 metro stops, it is a very good solution to visit the centre of Paris. The personnel is very kind, the service is good, including a nice breakfast in the morning. There is no elevator, but for this price/quality ratio you will be happy to use the stairs!

We were booked into this hotel for three nights but ended up staying for five due to flight disruptions. We were so lucky to be in such a good quality reasonably priced hotel during the travel crisis. We had free internet use to help us keep in contact with family, advice and news. The staff also provided us with mobile phone chargers to keep our communication options open. When things became really serious after our flight out was cancelled the staff helped us get in touch with Euroline and would have made our booking home by coach for us but as the website crashed under demand they gave us clear instructions to the booking office. They were very patient with all our queries. The room, breakfast area and roof garden were lovely. The location couldn't have been better for everything a visitor to Paris would want to walk to. Our only disappointment was the lack of drink making facilities in our room as there wasn't a bar, and some evenings it would have been nice to have a night cap. The first evening we arrived very late due to traffic problems around the airport, it would have been nice to have been offered a drink on arrival, we were directed instead to a very expensive bar some walking distance away after a long journey. Traffic was noisy at the front of the hotel first thing in the morning but it didn't stop us from drowsing. These are small details against a generally excellent stay.

The Hotel Mogador Opera was exactly what we were looking for. The location was very central, the hotel very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast, although a bit expensive at 9 euros per day each, was good quality with fresh fruit salad offered on two out of our three days. I would recommend it as there was little alternative in the surrounding area. This was my first visit to Paris and I was disappointed with the quality of the restaurants. Although there were 'traditional' french restaurants nearby, none were open (mid April). We had to go to Montmartre for those and they were average and overpriced. It's probably better to try the various 'ethnic' restaurants in the city centre. On the positive side, I found Paris much cleaner than I expected and the Parisians not nearly as rude! Finally, a plug for Eurostar & Ebbsfleet International, which were excellent.

Walls are paper. If somebody is quarrelling, you can here it word by word, or even laughing and chatting, can be easily heard. Very nice staff! Good location near Gallerie Lafayette and airport bus (Roissybus). Everything is closed on Sundays in Paris nearby the hotel. Only Opera's shop was open as well as Opera. Very nice hotel located in an area of Paris that allowed for easy access to the whole City (3 very close Metro stops). We were a family of 4, and even thou the room was small, it fit our needs perfectly. I do not think you will find a better room for the price anywhere else in Paris. Dining is a little limitted in the area, but there is a great Greek restaurant within 2 blocks, and the pub/bistro next door is perfect for a drink in the evening or for coffee and a croissant n the morning. We would stay here again.

This hotel was an excellent surprise. Excelent price and quality hotel. Better than many 3* and 4* hotels I've stayed. The only thing that could be a handicap is that don't have a lift and you have to clim the stairs to the rooms. For me it was no problem at all. The hotel was all renewed, is well decorated and you feel the quality on the materials, food, towels, everything. Definitely an hotel I would recomend and comeback.

Great Hotel in a very central location, but in a quiet street, so very quiet room. Our room for 4 was fantastic, with the kids beds slightly separate from the double bed. No lift so you need to be happy to carry bags up stairs but no problem for us. Would highly recommend, especially for the price compared with other hotels we looked at in Paris. There is a Roissy Airport bus that goes to and from the CDG airport every 30 minutes and the stop is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

This was our first visit and is unlikely to be our last! The only drawback was a small spiral staircase to our room but that was redeemed by the fab room, with a pretty little terrace just outside our window - beautiful!! We had 2 rooms - both spacious and well planned. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and the breakfast was plentiful - all in all I would strongly recommend this hotel! Its location in the business quarter meant lots of bars and restaurants without any real noise plus walking distance from central Paris and the shops - just perfect!!!

Great boutique hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Clean, tidy and tastefully decorated but take your own pillow unless you like them high and hard! Location is quiet and easy to find, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of restaurant choices in the immediate area on the weekends... or maybe that's just because the locals are on holiday for the summer too.

The Good: All staff friendly & helpful, a bowl of candy awaits you before you climb the stairs to your room (on some days), Room 33 was sizeable with French windows and tasteful furnishings. Wireless internet connection in room for free. The area is generally quiet, (extremely quiet on weekends). A 10 min walk to the Moulin Rouge district & 20 min walk to Montmarte or the Louvre in the opposite direction. 5 mins walk to closest Metro station (Le Peletier) and 5-6 mins to RER Hausmann St Lazare where two trains will take you to CDG airport. Small supermarket within 5-6 mins walk. Cafés within 5-6 mins walk The Not So Good: Mattress is rather hard (could be a good point for some), Windows in front rooms look out to an office building with large windows across the street (while we were there, not too many people were seen in the offices) You can smell cigarette smoke from the adjoining room (or could've been the café below) if those people smoke. Walls are far from sound proof (you can clearly hear snoring, people taking showers, people's wake up alarms). Could be cold in winter as there are only 2 small carpet rugs beside your bed and the rest is tiled floor, Wireless internet connection was extremely slow or non existent in the mornings & speedy about 5-10% of the time. The quietness of the area is pierced at times (after 7am) by rubbish collection, business deliveries, and horns sounding from passing cars. Having said all this when we came back and stayed for another night we were given a different room (with a double & single bed-can't remember the number). It was more spacious, no smoke was smelled from adjoining rooms or the café below. There was some confusion as to what our rate was at the end of the stay. The hotel incorrectly charged more money to our credit card after we checked out but this was credited back later after I emailed confirmation of the rate from Venere.com

The hotel is described exactly by other reviews, clean, spacious, tastefully decorated, and located not too far from other restaurants and bars. The day front desk concierge is exceptionally friendly and helpful. It does not have an elevator but they prepared the room promptly when we arrived early and took our baggage to the room for us. At 130 Euros a night for a triple, it is the best deal in Paris. However, while the roof top terrace is quaint and comfortable to relax, it is surrounded by buildings and no view available at all. The 9 Euro breakfast though only consists of coffee, orange juice, yogurt, croissants and baguettes and we consider it pricey. We will certainly stay at Mogador Opera again next time.

The staff at Hotel Mogador were incredibly friendly and helpful, plus the hotel itself was an excellent value--clean, cute, nicely decorated. As a 60-year-old woman traveling by myself, I found the hotel to be close to the action; yet, just far enough away to be very quiet. It was also in a safe neighborhood for walking. The metro was readily accessible, too. I will definitely return.

The hotel is located in a good area close to some major shopping centers. You can walk by foot to reach some well known objectives. The room was clean but too narrow. The bath was very clean but again narrow. I would have appreciated if the shower wasn't fixed.

Small Hotel without, no frills, no great comfort, so so breakfast - but: very friendly, super quiet rooms, very central ( we did just about all our visitin on foot). And all this for a comparatively nice prize.

Lovely hotel, charming staff. We communicated by email before we arrived, requesting a cot for our baby daughter, and received quick confirmation. Reading the good reviews, we hoped for a reasonably quiet, clean room. We got this, plus found the room to be tastefully decorated with a large double bed, and a day bed, and a net-sided cot, and terracotta tiles, which I far prefer to carpet. Slimline TV, clean, modern bathroom with great shower. And enough room for a thick persian carpet on which baby could play. Modern, stylish room, and I reckon excellent value. We needed hot water for our babyfood, and were allowed to help our self to the kitchen kettle. The usual petit dejuener breakfast facilities. Well located: walking distance to Sacre Coeur/Montmartre to the north, and Louvre/Pompidu/Notre Dame to the other. We walked to the Eiffel Tower as well. Situated on a quiet street, given that it is the centre of towns. Some door banging in early morning, but not enough to mar our stay. We could have hoped for a kettle in our room, but as I say, we were allowed use of the one down stairs. English newspapers if we wanted them. And free internet. English spoken by charming day staff. Waliking distance from the main railway stations, Nord, Est. Monprix in Pigal for food shopping. Advice? Enjoy! Ask for first floor room if the stairs worry you (no lift). View of shuttered period windows is what you expect in Paris.

A fantastic little hotel, I will definitely be going back again. The room was spacious, for a Paris hotel, and appeared to have been recently renovated. Bed was comfy. Staff were friendly. Location was very central, within walking distance of many sights or close to the metro if needed.

Fantastic hotel for its rating, great quality. Staff are very friendly and helpfull & gave us great recommendations for dinner, etc. Bathroom was spotless and perfectlty functioning. The room was clean, warm, and had nice charm. The location is great, numerous Metro stops close by, and a good location for shopping too. Plenty of restaurants and bars only a short walk away too if you prefer to stay closer to the hotel at night. I couldn't reccomend this hotel more for the price range and location.

We stayed in Paris for 4 days and found that this hotel was perfectly situated so that we could walk to all the major attractions. We found that the staff were very very helpful and couldnt fault the help they gave us. We would definately recommend The Hotel Mogador to friends.

Just amazing for the price. It's clearly a 4 star hotel but with 2 only because of the missing elevator. beside this (which is no issue at all) the stay was almost perfect (only the pillows are a bit too thick and the matresses not the best, but good enough) and hotel is very charmy. I'm usually very picky about hotels, but this one deserves the best price/quality rating.

I must say after my 3. stay in Paris, that this is by far the best place I've stayed. The staff are very nice, it located very central and the price/quality couldn't be better. If I had to make a small negativ remark, it must be that quietness of rooms could be better. It is possible to hear people next door. But after I long day walking in paris your so tired that you will fall asleep at once. Highly recommended! And the breakfast at the hotel is quiet nice.

We went to Paris for New years Eve and stayed 4 nights in Hotel Mogador. It's a small hotel, placed in quiet neighbourhood, although it is placed only 100 m from the Opera, Gallerie La Fayette and the nearest Underground station. The rooms are not big, but very clean and cosy. The staff is very friendly, helpful and they speak very well english. The breakfast is okay, but not extraordinary. We will highly recommend you to stay at Hotel Mogador, and we will surely stay there, next time we visit Paris.

Cheap and good. The bathroom is very tiny. You need to be also aware that there is no elevator. So avoid to arrive with heavy lugage which in addition would be difficult to store in your room!

Overall, the room is in a good location with several metro stops within walking distance. It is also very near gallery lafayette. Like what others have pointed out, there are limited choices for breakfast place near the hotel. The shower in the room is somewhat erratic - the temperature of the water keeps getting hotter. The overall furnishings of the room also look somewhat tired and old.

Room was a great size! bathroom with a bath and not just a shower which was good...altho we'd some bother in figuring out how to take out the plug! very close to le peletier metro and also la fayette and theres a few big department stores jus around the corner..we did have to get moved on the second night of our stay but it was fine cos the room we got in the other place was just as big and as nice!!!

If you have large heavy pieces of luggage then ask for a room on the first floor because you'll have to carry them up the stairs. Or the friendly staff are there to help. This hotel is good value. I would stay again. It's also a great location because you're walking distance to most attractions. And close to excellent shopping!

The hotel was great and in a great location, it took us about 15 - 20 minutes to walk to The Louvre. I stayed in the quad room with my girlfriend and two friends, the room was big, the bathroom was clean, and the shower had great pressure. The staff were helpful and friendly. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone! The only thing you need to be aware of is it doesn't have a lift.

It was my first trip to Paris. All staff at the Mogador Hotel was professional and showed genuine concerns about my questions for Paris tour. I liked the location of this hotel, easy access to the major public transportation, cafés, and shopping malls. I feel safe walk around in late evenings. I had a wonderful time.

Best Quality vs. Price ever. The Hotel is very well located in the heart of Paris. At night the surrounding is very boring, because everything is closed, but from there is very easy to arrive anywhere in Paris. Highly Recommend.

This was a great location and the location could not be better . the department stores almost at your doorstep. Staff were super friendly and I will stay here again . Only downfall was the noise from fellow guests but that may have been the fault of the guests not the hotel as there were a noisy group in

What a find! Hotel Mogador surpassed our expectations, and despite its 2 star rating, is far better than many 3 and 4 star hotels we've experienced. The hotel is well presented, very clean, and the room we had was tastefully decorated, and surprisingly spacious for a family room for two adults and two children (10 and 4). The staff we friendly and efficient. The breakfast was as good as we'd hoped. The surrounding area is quiet, but within easy walking distance of the Metro. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hotel Mogador to other visitors to Paris.

The location of the hotel was excellent. One block away was Gallerie Lafayette. The neighborhood is quiet, staff is very friendly and helpful, bathroom was large and equipped with modern fittings, we know from home there was no elevator, No complaints. Highly recommend

We wondered why this was a 2 and not a 3 star, given the description on the web site, convenient central location etc. and suspected that it might be simply the lack of a lift. This turned out to be the case - after lugging our suitcases up three flights of stairs we were treated to a large, clean, attractive and quiet room with good bathroom where we had a very comfortable night's stay. The hotel's location made it easy to get anywhere (we walked to Monmartre and the local (Trinite?) Metro was close by) but while close by the main hubbub of Boulevard Hausmann was sufficiently far away for this not to be intrusive. Most friendly and helpful staff on all counts. Highly recommended.

We had a room for 3 persons : spacious, clean and well decorated. The beds were large and we have had good nights (except for the noise of the road, but we are in Paris). We had a bathroom and a separated toilet. We recommend this hotel well located, with a very good service. To improve : the marmelade served for the breakfast which has no taste in those small packaging so bad for the nature.
