We spent two nights at the Hotel Maxim whilst visiting Paris to see the Tour de France. The hotel is modern, clean and comfortable. Rooms are a little on the small side but are air conditioned and well equipped with plenty of storage. Breakfast is served until 10:30 so no need to get up at dawn, good news after a late night. A very nice hotel in a good location with a metro station 30 metres from the door. Recommended.

After getting off to an impressive start... I ended up a little frustrated. I was initially very pleased with my little single room... but soon discovered that the bed - was very uncomfortable (it even sloped!!!) - pillows were awful. And the shower head in my shower was broken too, which made it awkward to shower. Wasn't impressed when they seemed to skimp on toilet paper either. Not that I ran out, but rather they didn't leave a spare one... which just seemed cheap to me. Where my room was located, was obviously near a staff area, as I could hear them noisily coming and going even late at night, and talking/joking amongst themselves which of itself isn't an issue, but at 1 in the morning - I kinda think it is! Oh, and the 10Euro breakfast - was a pitiful effort! Wouldn't bother with it! Other wise: GREAT location. Nice staff. A good price, solid service for the price/location combo. :D I'd recommend - just don't expect too much attention to detail. Overall, it's a good clean hotel.

no personal safe for cash & passports. extremely cramped bathroom. room with twin beds extremely cramped. very soft bed. this should be a one star facility. Breakfast at 10 euros normally provided as complimentary. would definitely not recommend at these prices.

The location was excellent for access to the metro, restaurants, local shops. Staff were helpful. Rooms are small and not cheap but that's Paris.

Well my luggage was lost in the US, and the staff was very helpful in helping me find places to shop and how to use the metro and buses. Although the room is small and I had no view, I was not in Paris to sit in my room. Bed was very comfortable and the the place was modern and clean. Good fast and free internet in the room. Breakfast option not a great deal (nothing it seems in Paris is), but the coffee was excellent. The location is excellent. Great outdoor cafes and restaurants around the corner, not many tourists, Metro, bus half a block away, walking distance to the Louvre (good long walk...) and walking distance from the RER train station from the airport. Safe at night. I highly recommend this place if you just need a place to sleep in a great location. Perhaps room a little small for a couple, but fine for one.

I find this hotel very nice and very well located in the heart of the Latin Quarter. The staff is very kind and helpful. I only find two things that I didn´t like: the rooms are very small with noisy doors when they close and the breakfast is very poor compared to the price they charge you.

Cons: The room was quite small, although it did have a proper shower. (The pictures create an illusion of more space than there is.) They didn't change our sheets, just made the bed. We could hear a great deal of noise in the hotel. There were not many things around the hotel (shops, restaurants...). The beds were hard. Pros: Proper shower. The hotel was modern looking and seemed to be recently renovated. The price is comparatively cheap (at least through this website). You were a short metro ride or a long stroll from many things near Notre Dame. This was our first time staying at this hotel. I would say that we would only return to this hotel if we were looking for something cheap.

Internet didn't work all four days. Safe didn't work. Rooms hot and stuffy unless you open windows - then the noise is deafening. No win situation. First time in 40 years I have not enjoyed Paris. This hotel ruined it.

Maxim's is a no-frill decent hotel; excellent location, reasonable prices -for Paris in June- and very helpful personnel. The only drawback was the size of the room, -really tiny. The breakfast buffet could be better -for instance, some fresh fruit. I recommend it

Despite being only a 2* hotel, I found the room to be comfortable, clean, modern and quite spacious; the same was true of the ensuite bathroom. It was somewhat functional but not to the extent that it felt 'cold' at all. The location is near the Censier Daubuton Metro station and about a 10-15 minute walk from the Pantheon. There are quite a few shops, bars and restaurants in the immediate area which itself seemed reasonably lively (during the day) but not at all as busy and overwhelming as St Germain or other more central areas. My only complaint would be that on arrival I was given the room directly behind the reception desk and found that it also shared a wall with the kitchen of the next door restaurant. It wasn't unbearably noisy but I did slightly regret simply accepting what I was given.

Vey small rooms, well below what is needed for a decent stay... it was very unconfotable to stay in such small place... the bed had a plastic towel beneath it that made the sleeping very unconfortable. Good location. Overall too overpriced.

We enjoyed the location of the hotel very much, including its proximity to a Metro station. The bathroom was a spotless, airy delight; cupboard space was excellent; and we especially appreciated our tiny balcony, above a small park in the quiet street below, with the activity and noise of Rue La Monge in the background.

While the rooms were expectedly small, the decor only minimized the light/spaciousness. Single rooms were dark: dark drapes, wood painted dark brown, bedspread an olive drab color, and the rugs dark stripes! Facing the courtyard, there is hardly any light. Another problem was that the doors slammed closed, not nice when guests come in at 2 or 3 in the morning. However, the bathroom was modern and nice. The walls are also padded. Location excellent, a few steps from the metro. Some good restaurants nearby also.
