we had a superior room on the 5th floor which was smallish but was adequate.view from room was superb and hotel is in a brilliant location, probably over priced but we had a good stay and would recommend this hotel

Fabulous! We would stay here again. The views from the room were breathtaking and we were within walking distance of the arrondisements we wanted to experience. The Oprah house is a "do not miss" adventure.

This hotel is in an excellent "central" location. We had an easy walk to the Louve. We were able to get to other sites. A subway station is next to the hotel. The hotel staff was helpful with subway directions to the train station. The room had a very nice view. Only negative, breakfast was modest in choices But 14 euro seemed at little high. Highly recommend.

Because we were staying for five nights we requested a room with a view. We were given a corner room with return balcony on the fifth floor. In one direction we could see Montmartre and in the other the tip of the Tour Eiffel. At our feet was the back of La Madeleine. Just around the corner a Metro station, five minutes walk in one direction the shops of Boulevade Haussmann and in the other Avenue Champs-Elysees and Jardin de Tuileries! Our only criticism was that although wifi was available it was not clear until one had made a reservation that there was a charge for it. This was a very pleasant and relaxing experience and a wonderful way to end our four month holiday in Europe, especially as we were there on Bastille Day and were able to see the fireworks display at the Tour Eiffel from our balcony!

Great location - few steps from the main streets and squares. The stop of Open tour buses is right on the square, which is very convinient for exploring Paris. And parking is in the next building!

Were in Paris for 8 nights, this is the best hotel!!! Location is just great, can't ask for anything more. Everything is close by.. train, restaurants, all within 10-15 walking to major attractions. Breakfast is not recommended ,you have all bunch of restaurants just around the corner. We found a nice bakery that served everything - but self serve for about 15 E for 2 people for breakfast. Its great!!!

Room was small as in Paris hotels. Very convenient location. Close to Louvre, subway, bus, Opera, shops, restaurants.Hotel charged 3.5 euro for safety box lock The bus driver to airport seems to be little rude to some passangers and refused to help unloading suitcases but when we paid tips he did unload suitcases on his own.

We had a rather spacious room with a sideways view on the Madeleine, as asked for. Staff is very friendly, helpful and cheerful. The location could not be better. We chose to have breakfast on the go so we cannot judge that. Price/quality is surprisingly good for the center of Paris. We will definitely go back!

Based on Paris standards, this is actually a really good hotel for the money. One thing to keep in mind when going to Paris is that although beautiful, Paris is an old city with old buildings and it is very expensive. Because of this, hotels there do not live up to the same standards you would normally expect anywhere else. This hotel does OK on accomodations; it's clean and quiet. The rooms are small of course, but not cramped. Coffee/Tea maker but no iron for clothes. It provides only the basic amenities, but what it lacks in splendor, it more than makes up for in location. Beautiful plaza outside your door step, within walking distance to Printemps, metro stop across the street, cafes and clubs nearby. The Louvre, Notre Damme, Eiffel Tower - all within minutes on the metro. Hotel staff very friendly, and spoke decent enough English. They will arrange a shuttle for you to the airport for much less than a cab ride and I found this to be very efficient. Beds were firm, but comfortable enough. I would stay here again.

Loved it! Room was much nicer than expected, based on reviews. Spacious for Paris standards & newly decorated in French style. We had a twin room that was decent sized w/a view to La Madeleine. Little noisy but expected when downtown & facing street. Windows cut down most of noise. Fabulous location, we walked everywhere! Lots of shopping & restaurants. Would definitely stay here again-worth the $$$.

Original room was on the hotel side and viewed another building just yards away. (Overlooked and dark). Changed at no extra cost to room on front. n We like overlooking the city so for us excellent. (noisy if windows open, but we chose it)

I arrived at this hotel too early to check in (on the reservetion summary it was written to check in after 14:00). But they allowed me to check in and was able to take a breif rest in my room. The room was clean and relatively big for a single traveler like me. The location of the hotel is good, too. It's just behind the "eglise la madeleine" (easy to find) and there are lots of shops around. The station of the metro is also 2 min walk from the hotel.

I'm perfectly happy with my stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location was absolutely fantastic. It's a short walk to the Opera, the Louvre, and the famous Maxim's restaurant. I also walked to the Musee D'Orsay (the "don't miss" museum with the famous Renoirs, Manets, Van Gogh and other impressionist masterpieces) and the Champs Elysees. My room was very small, but that is common for this price and location. One thing about the location - it's jam-packed with tourists. As a result, there are plenty of rude waiters in the neighborhood restaurants, and prices are "maximum". If you want a more "authentic" area, try Hotel des Provinces. It's in a "real" neighborhood, where people actually live.

I loved the hotel it was quiet and beautiful. It was everything I thought it would be and a bit more. The recommendations of the staff regarding: shopping, touring, food, and traveling on the metro were excellent. It was a splendid place to return to at the end of the day!

A good tip for travellers with heavy baggages :) If you want to do some cardio workout, drag your trolleys of bags toward the Rossy bus station which is about 15 mins of brisk walk. Or you may want to pre book a airport shuttle from the hotel at 17 Euro for a door to airport terminal transfer. Definitely easy on those back. Not much difference than the Rossy bus which charges 14 Euro per trip. Do not attempt to take a taxi to and from bus station to hotel as most taxis refuse to take you and if they do, the charge is 5 Euro and 1 Euro per baggage ! Staff at the Madeliene hotel are not as friendly as the previous staffs we met about 3 years ago but they are OK. Not hostile or unfriendly. Price difference between rack rate and Venere is about 30 euro per night ! Ask for higher floor eg 6 or 7th floor as they are much quieter !

The staff at the hotel were all very pleasant, helpful and efficient except for one receptionist named Karama. She was impatient and snappy when I questioned my bill (hotel rate was higher than what I had been quoted online). When I told her that i had a right to question she became more obnoxious. She tainted our otherwise excellent experience at Hotel Madeleine Plaza.

The Madeleine was an excellent choice for us. Despite a credit card mix up they kept our room for us. The room was small but clean and comfortable and had a great view. The reception Staff were very halpful but we were placed in a small room with no view to start with. We were quickly changed to a much better room once we asked. Rooms and facilities adequate but can be improved, such as not having to pay for the roomsafes. What spoils the experience most is the unfriendly and almost rude breakfast staff.

when phoning the hotel to confirm reservation they said they didnt have it, it then took a further 2 phone calls and finally 1 hour before departing for flight i had to e-mail the hotel with a copy of the reservation which they finally then confirmed. i dont think this is down to veneer.com but more to do with the hotel itself, i would advise people to always telephone the hotel personally which venere advise you to do anyway just to double check the reservation. when we arrived at the hotel the room was a lot smaller than we thought and it was in the loft. we asked for a room change as my partner was pregnant and it was a bit small but we where rufused until we realised that the air conditioning didnt work, and only then where we put on the bottom floor and although the view had now gone the room was slightly larger. the double room was no bigger than you would expect from a british b+b but it was at least on suite. overall the hotel was very clean and it is situated bang in the centre of paris so everything was easily accesable. we paid £447 euros for 2 adults for 3 nights, originally we thought that was a bit high but i done a lot of searching on the internet for about a month before hand and venere ended up being the cheapest. because this hotel is very well situated in paris then it can initially feel quite expensive. to our delight when we got to the hotel we seen the price tariff on the front door and we ended up saving about 40% had we just walked in off the street and booked. although the hotel is pretty basic on facilities outside off your room we would class the accomadation as pretty good although the centre of paris is very expensive. be warned with regards to buying food, it is not like the uk where you can just pop into a shop for a packet of crisps ( there is no shops ) it is all restaurants,,, bring your wallet.

As our flight was delayed we did not arrive at the hotel until after midnight on our due date of arrival. We found the staff to be very kind and helpful despite our lateness and booking in took no time at all. The hotel was ideally situated for getting around Paris both on foot and by the Metro. The rooms were very clean and of a decent size. We also found the hotel very good for looking after our luggage between booking out and our departure for the airport. Overall our stay at this hotel was extremely good value for money.

We enjoyed our stay at the Madeleine Plaza Hotel and the staff was very accommodating. The location was great for walking to local area attractions, restaurants and the metro which was located just around the corner for easy access. Rooms were small but, very typical of European hotel rooms. Make sure you try the Hediard Restaruant within easy walking distance from the hotel. Also, a great Italian restaurant about one block from the hotel. Hotel faces the Church de Madeleine. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

Although it is true that we felt vibrations from the metro, we would definitely stay again at the Madeleine Plaza hotel if we could get a room with a balcony again. Being so close to a metro made our coming and going a breeze. Our hotel room was very nice. We would have preferred if the shower glass covered the entire tub entrance, as water inevitably ended up on the ceramic floor, making it a slippery affair when getting out. For the price, I think it would be hard to find such a nice hotel room (with A/C) in such a great location. One of the best reasons for staying at this hotel is that it is across the street from Hediard bakery, which makes the most amazing pastries and sandwiches!! Don't miss that!

Location is the best thing about this hotel, it is only a minutes walk to Place de la Concorde. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and excellent value for money; very central with a beautiful view of the Madeleine Church and only a 2 minute walk to Place de la Concorde. Although there was a slight noise from the metro trains, this was a very small inconvenience as the metro stop is conveniently just round the corner from the hotel.

There was one individual, who I think was the acting manager, who was EXTREMELY RUDE reporting to me that I owed him more money because I had an extra person in the room. This was not true, and when I showed him my email from the hotel itself where I requested a rollaway for a child he backed down. This ruined my stay! This hotel was more expensive than any of the others we stayed in, the room needed drastic redo with for carpets and bedding, and it was also our most expensive including NO breakfast. I would not recommend this place....they need a new manager

We had a wonderful week-long stay in Paris. Each day started with opening the curtains and looking at the huge Madelein church in the square outside which was a joy. It was then just a short walk to the Opera and Concorde and onwards to Other Interesting Places. Also, the underground station was just around the corner, literally. The only real complaint would be that we could hear our neighbours quite clearly, but we had what looked like half of a suite of two rooms, and presumably other rooms are quiter. We were more than willing to endure that little annoyance in exchange for the view.

We originally booked a quadruple suite. This room definitely did not work for four adults. We asked for other accomodations - but the rates were very high. On our second day we checked out other hotels - which were nicer and had less expensive rates. When we told the manager at the Madelein Plaze we were leaving, we were shown other rooms - comparable to the other hotels and given a matching rate. We stayed and overall our stay was great - just be sure to check out your room before registering.
