They had free internet but it didn't reach the room, so to use it we had to be at the lobby or on the stair way of our floor.

Despite of it good location is the worst "hotel" I ever stay in. Try to avoid it. Extremely noise by night, guest and staff smoking, smelling, dirty. The staff was angry because I paid with card. The room was really awful and its shower was ridiculously small. By the way it s been 3 years since I lived in France and believe me it is the first time that I see that.

"Room with bath room" means you will have a shower, but not a toilet.

I strongly urge anyone, thinking of booking this hotel, to think ten thousand times before doing so. Please do not go by the price offered as for some more amount, which you coudl pay for a good vacation, could result into an in-reversable insult that the reception at this hotel would do to you. If you are a first time traveller to paris and with family, i could explain you how difficult it was for me to change the hotel either. The staff does not speak english at all and it is difficult to communicate to them anything or even expect any help in their country. My vacation was spoiled totally, as it started with a huge disappointment.

Hotel Lorraine was, overall, quite pleasant, but don't imagine it's anything more than a budget accommodation. The staff was pleasant (be warned: most did not speak much English - not a problem, but many Americans will want to know...) and accommodating and eager to please. Smoking in the hallway near a window was nice in theory, but all of the cigarette smoke blew directly into my room. As a non-smoker I appreciated the effort they made, but my room was still constantly full of cigarette smoke. The bed was really just a futon mattress on stiff supports. It served its purpose - I had a place to sleep more comfortable than a floor or a couch - but it was not terribly comfortable. Anyone planning to share a bed in one of the rooms will be especially uncomfortable, I would imagine. But for just me, it was ok. Don't get me wrong, the bed was ok, but a bit too stiff/hard for my tastes. The best things about Hotel Lorraine were: 1) its location, right next to Metro lines 4 and 7, 2) the price, 55 euro/night, and 3) private bathroom in the room.

It's not a luxury suite, juste a bedroom and a shower and toilets attached. But if it's what you need it should be enough. Near the subway you can reach Paris downtown in a very quick time. The surroundings are clean view to the place in front of "Gare de l'est", a lot of restaurants, fastfoods and shops open until midnight which is very helpful when you travel and forgot something like a razor for example. The tenders are "aux petits soins" with you. Next time I come to Paris, I will hire it again.

Gare de l'Est is a perfect location and it provides easy access to buses, trains and metro. But I would recomend it only for young students who otherwise would go to a hostel and cannot afford a better hotel.

The hotel was very pour and dirty. I was totally not satisfied with the room. The water in the shower was cold and the building was very old. The only good thing that i have to mention is the location. It's near to a big station for metro train and bus.

Compared to other hotels in the same area, I would not recommend this hotel because of cleanliness of rooms.

It is a very small place and very run down. The bathroom was tiny, and you wouldn't want to spend any more time than absolutely necessary in the room. Good proximity to a metro line was its saving grace.

I would not recommend this hotel. The receptionist was not friendly. The room was very dismal - peeling wallpaper, door on ensuite completely unhinged. When I tried to use shower the whole unit came away in my hands. The door lock was not particularly secure. As a single female traveller, I did not feel at all comfortable in this environment.
