Considering the location of the hotel, the price seemed reasonable on the internet. Upon arrival, there was a shocker. The three hundred year old building has very narrow hallways, the main entrance and the check-in desk has a very steep stairway to climb up, and the elevator stops on half-floors(In between floors might be more clear). So if you have any big luggage, good luck trying to get them into your rooms. Even with the half-floor elevator, you might be assigned to a room that has to be reached with another set of stairs that's crazily placed inbetween the same floor. I don't know how that it even possible, but I certainly have respect for the old building and how the people have tried to maintain it without doing much damage. My husband and I both had 28-inch hardcase luggages to drag into our room and it was agonizing. If you were to get to/from the CDG airport, it was a breeze since you only have to walk about for 10 minutes to the Opera station where the Roissybus has a stop. Also it is located right in the heart of Rue Saint-Honore, so if you like shopping it might be a place for you. There is a little supermarket around the corner where you can buy water, sodas and amenities you might need during the trip, so that was nice as well. Also a pharmacy on a 2-minute walk. The finale would be the Louvre being in the close radius. A 5-minute walk and you should find yourself starring at the clear pyramid placed infront of the Louvre and Jardin Tuileries. The one big complaint I might have is that the hotel does not provide enough shampoo/body wash. There are two small stingy packets lying in the bathroom, and to be that stingy on that price, I really didn't understand. The bathroom lighting also comes with a very loud fan, so it's really noisy when someone's in the bathroom. But no worries about the water running, it's surprisingly well running. Book this hotel if you are really into LOCATIONS.

Location is great! For a two star hotel, it was an excellent choice. Very convenient to everything in Paris. The rooms were very clean with full bath and shower. Hotel has a maze of hallways, which adds to the charm, though perhaps not suited for older couples. We (I was traveling with my eleven year old twins) had to navigate the stairs with our luggage, as the elevator only stops at between floors. If you don't speak French, you may have trouble communicating with staff as not all receptionists spoke English.

Breakfast = 9 € ??? Excuse me When I booked the room, I asked for a room including breakfast and then I got to pay 9€ for breakfast. Far to much money for such a "thing"

The best thing about this hotel is its location. Almost on the Louvre's front door! Very close to the Metro stop. The room I had was clean & had everything I needed. Nothing fancy, but I got value for my money. The only drawback (and I knew about it beforehand, so I was prepared) are the narrow stairs and an elevator that stops on the half-floors. But this is a small thing, considering its location, cleanliness & quiet rooms. I would stay there again.

The hotel is better than many 3 star hotels in Paris and the location is perfect. I would recommend for 2-3 days visits.

Centrally located, close to metro stations, tourist information and publice bike rental stands! Small room with necessary facilities (did not spend much time there anyway). Aircon was much used and a must. Our room was at the top floor and the stairs are really narrow and steep, but good excercise.

You will have to climb 2 flights of stairs to get to your room even if you use the lift. Maybe even more depending on room. Very small staircase. Big bags don not work well here.

There is a old (historic) building with elevator offered from 1st (actually 2-nd) floor to 3-rd floor and two more stairs to get the room, but it is OK if you going to spend all your time in the city and using the hotel just for sleeping.

the location is fabulous, the rooms were tiny and pretty basic but clean and warm ( it was a freezing january when l was there) and overall it is very good value for money since l have stayed in numerous hotels in paris in the past that offered the same or less for a higher cost

The location is terrific, right near Tuileries Gardens, and near Opera. I booked a single room, and it was pretty much in the attic - the ceiling was very sloped as it followed the roofline, and I dubbed it the 'Harry Potter Suite' as it felt like being in a room under the stairs! But the hotel overall was fine, although breakfast over-priced. The room suited my purposes, but beware of the staircase if you have lots of luggage or small children - it is a very narrow circular staircase, and tricky to navigate with large pieces of luggage.

We found the hotel exactly as we expected. It's not a four star hotel, but it provides everything needed for a short stay in Paris, especially location. The staff were especially helpful as we lost a passport, and they helped us find the police, and arranged for us to stay an extra night. Also, we were in Paris for the October 2010 strikes. The hotel staff kept us informed and helped us with alternative transportation. Note that it's true the elevator does not reach the ground floor, so if you can't carry your luggage, don't stay here.

We stayed 4 nights and were very happy with the location and the cleanliness of the room. The first night we were very hot, and the a/c had been turned off for the season (late september). Sleeping with the window open was difficult due to traffic noise. The other three nights we cooled the room off with open windows during the day, and closed them for quiet while sleeping, and that worked out well. The room is very tiny, so not much room for large suitcases, which was fine with us because we travel light. The bed was OK - not extremely comfortable. The people working were very nice. There was internet available in the lobby for 8 Euro for 60 minutes. Wonderful chocolate shop across the street. Lots of shopping and restaurants in walking distance, as well as Metro stations (Pyramides and Tulleries).

Well situated, only 5 minuts walking from the Piramids entrance of Louvre. The rooms are correct and the bath is ok, exept the water pressure in shower that is incredibly low. If you don't wont to go up and down stairs this is not your hotel, becouse the elevator is between floors and is not operative.

The room is good but it takes a few stairs to go to the room, though. There is a lift installed at the 2nd floor but somehow not very effective as it is so small. The price is just a bit high in peak season which does not include a breakfast.
