Hotel Le Standard - Paris

The location is excellent, with many nice neighbourhood pubs and bistros, a short walking distance to the heart of the Marais district, as well as several metro stations nearby. However, the hotel itself is rather cramped with narrow hallways and small common areas, so even if the location is excellent and the hotel clean and OK standard it´s not a complete jackpot but fine for a short stay with a minimum of time spent in the hotel room. Pluss for a nice breakfast and comfortably sized bathroom! (but minus for the lack of places to hang towels and minus for the lack of efficiency of staff handling the breakfast which meant lots of untidy dishes and not so much food on the breakfast bar)

Great little boutique hotel except that it is right above a bar that stayed hopping until 5 am Saturday night. The rooms that face the street get all the noise. Ones further in are fine from a noise standpoint though. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were small but not unexpected for the price. Decor was cool and fashionable.

Modern, stylish room. Minus - no towel hangers or fan in bathroom. We had aroom at the rear of the hotel - would recommend that.

The stay at Le Standard was very good - the staff was very nice and helpful, the room was great and the location was perfect for us! The room was somewhat small (but that was no surprise) but it was very clean and nicely decorated. That is very sparsely decorated, it was modern with white walls and very few details. We walked all over from the hotel since it felt close. It was also very close to Bastille and metros. Just outside the hotel there are a few really nice cafés/bars and it is also close to Rue Lappe (with many restaurants) and to some nice shopping. The neighbourhood didn't feel to touristy either. We will stay there again! And thanks to Venere for providing such a great service! It was easy to find hotels after location which was the most important factor for us.
