On my departure day all of the taxis were on strike. The staff, particularly Audrey, were most helpful in finding a car to get me to the airport. Only downside was that my teabags were not replenished and I had no milk. I suppose I should have said something. I didn't have breakfast preferring to use one of the many pavement cafes nearby.

My friends and I stayed here for 1 night. We arrived in the morning well before check in time. We were lucky that one of the 2 rooms we booked was ready so we got to freshen up before we left for the day. All the staff were friendly. The only point i would make that could be down to the management is that we had to leave the key at reception when we left for the day. On our return another member of staff was at reception we only had to give him our room numbers for us to get the key back. This could be a security risk. Maybe an ID check would be better.

Reason for stay was short weekend break. Not sure if I would have rated hotel as 4*. Carpets tired and in need of upgrade. There was a plastic chair and table in room. Shower (hose) not attached to wall. Hotel suitable for residents who like to walk as it is located a good distance from key attractions. Wi-fi had 2 different passwords, not great reception in bedroom. Le Relais Monceau is a substantial distance from Champs Elysee. Our room was ready when we arrived early and our request for a quiet room was honoured.

Quite a chic hotel! The recent reviews which helped me choose this hotel are quite apt. Its a great place, comfortable and clean, in a quiet area of Paris which is otherwise very close to everything. 10 min cab ride gets you to Sacre Couer. 10 min walk gets you to Haussmann (shopping!). 10 min will get you to Moulin Rouge too. A lot of thought seems to have gone into this hotel. The rooms decor is plush. The breakfast room monotony is broken by splitting it in different sections. The waiting room is presented as a library. All in all a very enjoyable experience. The staff is excellent. Very polite, utterly helpful. Note that you won't see a separate concierge desk, etc and staff level in the evening and at night is essentially the reception desk, so not the place if you want round the clock room service and the like. Breakfast is pretty good (as detailed by others in the comments). I'd like to see more variety in the cold meats (instead of just ham there should be a choice of 2 or 3 like turkey and beef) and a proper cheese platter (just a hint of brie and no blues? come on, this is Paris! got to have some flare!). If you are new to Paris, this will be a good place to park yourselves (unless you want to double the budget to Euro 220+). If you know Paris, then as hotels go, you won't go wrong selecting this hotel.

The room was very quiet and lovely. A little bit far away from the center, but you could bicyckle in 10 minutes down to Louvre. New towels every day and the bathroom was quite huge, with bath tube. (But the beds was hard). Not so many restaurants in the neighbourhood. AC in the room. (Venere says it's 4 stars, but the sign outside the hotel is 3 stars). Pleasant stay!

After a very disappointing stay at another Paris property, we cancelled our first reservation and booked the 2nd night here. Boy, what a difference. From the moment you walk. Into the hotel, you know that this is a classy place and the whole stay reinforced that. The room was spacious and well appointed; the bathroom was a delight and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The surrounding area is charming and it is a short walk to Gare St. Lazarre and perhaps 40 mins to get to theLouvre on foot. Fabulous bistro right opposite for dinner. Great hotel, great location. Will stay there on all future trips to Paris.

The Hotel was OK for the price paid (130e pn)in a very good loction for most of the attractions & some good restaurants nearby. Also within 2 mins of Villiers Metro which was ideal. The Hotel was a little "souless" & the Staff not particularly friendly. One complaint was the room we had looked onto a wall, don't really think they should sell such rooms.Would stay again but only in a different room.

Liked this hotel, because I've got it for a reasonable price in the Villiers area. The price did match the offered standard and I would really come back again, but when I tried some other date, I saw how different the prices were for the same room category (exceeding my price more than 60%). I don't like these surcharges for the same standard and would really look for another hotel, when I had to pay up to 200 € for the room.

The hotel was beautiful and opposite both a nice bistro and a patisserrie. The rooms and hotel was exactly what I had hoped for. The hotel staff were friendly and humoured my poor French until I ran out of words and they spoke English for me. The hotel is close to the metro, although on a line that requires a change for most major attractions. There was a bit of street noise because the windows were open on unseasonably warm nights, but other than that, it was perfect. I'd stay again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - it's got character, charm, decent sized rooms, and great public areas for relaxing (including small bar!). Local surrounds are typically 8th Arrondisement Paris, and it's not far to the Metro then all the attractions. The breakfast selection and offering is good value at 12 euros, and the bakery across the road is an excellent alternative. Have at least one meal at the Italian restaurant next door - it's worth it! Only downside - a little noisy if you are a very light sleeper. We'll definitely stay there next time we're in Paris!

Despite them not receiving the booking from Venere.com they still managed to accomodate us in an almost full hotel. The first room offered was dingy and small but they did manage to change it to a much nice (albeit noisy) one. However the windows are of good quality and the noise wasn't a problem. Disappointed that in France they didn't sell wine by the glass but the beer from the "honesty" bar was a reasonable (for Paris) price. Good location between Villiers and St Lazarre and some good restaurants around. I would definitely stay at the Relais again, with very helpful staff and free Wi-Fi it was a good choice.

I stayed in this hotel for a long weekend and really enjoyed it. It's perfect particularly for a romantic weekend away. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean! and not too small. The bathroom was a nice surprise - clean and pretty. The only criticism I have is that although the rooms are very quiet you can hear slamming doors in the morning, but it was a minor inconvenience. I would recommend this hotel to everybody.

Great Hotel. Rooms were spotless. Staff very nice. Great Location- about 15 mins walk to the Opera House. 20 mins to the Seine. This hotel was excellent value for money. We had breakfast on the morning of our departure and it was plentiful. We had 2 twin rooms facing the street & it was a bit noisy with the windows open but once closed it was pretty quiet. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 3 nites and the hotel was perfect for our needs. Nice and tidy at an affordable price. Nice neighbourhood. Bakery, cafe and small supermarket right across the street. Great italian restaurant (Risi e Bisi) near by. A few minutes walk to the Metro (Villiers) made it a breeze to get around town. Tip! Visit the market in Rue de Levis (only a few minutes walk from the hotel) on sunday and stop for brunch at Le Village Café.

Me and my Wife stayed at this hotel for one whole week, therefore we had time enough to test it. Overall outcome was excellent. Rooms are not huge, but they are clean and well decorated. Staff is kind and willing to provide any help you may need. On the top of that, the hotel is well located. Not too close of noisy and crowded tourist hits, but close enough for a comfortable walk. The only complain we had is that the thin walls make it possible for you to listen other guests in their rooms. Manager explained us that the facilities can not be renewed to fix it as this would require the changing of the original characteristic of the stylish building. Ok then... We would easily come back for a second stay at the Relais Monceau.

very good weekend price for a clean hotel, recently renovated in an arty stile. nice cultivated aerea next to metro Villiers with two lines.
