After reading other reviews I knew the rooms would be small but this was the smallest room we have ever stayed in. It was also very hot and claustrophobic, the air condition had a mind of its own. We never took breakfast at 14 euros seem very expensive, the breakfast was served in the basement, not very inviting. For an affordable breakfast we went to Pauls cost 7 euros and a two minute walk away. Hotel staff were friendly, location was good. Overall poor choice - would not come back.

Location of this hotel is very good with close proximity to major sites and a wide variety of restaurants. The staff (especially the night staff) were extremely helpful and courteous. The room was small but comfortable and the bathroom was more than adequate.

I will stay at this great little hotel again when I return. The location is magnifique! Right in the hub of much shopping and all sightseeing...we never took the metro because everything was in walking distance! We did not have the breakfast because there were so many cafes and bakeries and resturants in the immediate vicinity. We were assisted by the hotel staff with the utmost attention and respect. You get 1 free hour of internet but after that it is 5 erou/hr...(the haagen daz icream palor/internet cafe 200 yd away has internet for 2.50 euro/hr)...We arrived back to the hotel at night between midnight and 2am..this was an ideal neighborhood; lots of activity and no trouble.

Friendly, helpful, competent staff; made diner reservations, called taxi, helped with directions, humored less than articulate attempts at French language. Super area with action just steps away. So close to great sights and can walk easily and safely to most of great places in Paris. Small room, yes, but would prioritize that as insignificant in comparison to other benefits.

We stayed at Le Regent for 6 nights, and everything was great except for one thing. The air conditioning in the room wouldn't switch to AC mode (only heating and fan.) We had to call the front desk every night to ask them to set it from there, and only sometimes did the person working know how to do it. Otherwise they were very friendly and helpful and spoke English as well.

The hotel is located in an excellent position for bars, cafes and restaurants and is not far from a number of the main tourist sites. The hotel was very clean and the staff were excellent and friendly. The Standard room we booked was very small and this was the only real dissapointment.

Excellent hotel, great location and helpful staff. Could have happily stayed for a week. Didn;t bother with breakfast as there are so many restaurants and cafes round about cheaper. We wanted somewhere central where we could eat at night and not worry about transport. Couldn't have picked a better area. Three minutes from Seine and bridge over to Louve. Great atmosphere.

We' ve got pleasant stay at Le Regent generally. Firstly, because outstanding location of the hotel. I'd like also admit the welcoming of the personnel. But if you like to stay more then a few days, you'd better book bigger room then simple double.

We've spent a week during Christmas holidays in Le Regent. The location is excellent - close to Saint Germen, Odeon, Louvre and Luxembourg garden. The room was small, of course, but we didn't expect much as only few hotels in Paris can offer spacious rooms. We had our room with windows looking backyard, so it was very quiet and cosy.

We had confirmed reservations a month in advance, when we arrived we were informed that the hotel changed our reservations to Hotel Dauphi at the same street as they did not have available rooms. They gave unacceptable excuse. As we were staying one night,we did not want to waste more time. We had breakfast at Dauphi hotel for 15 Euro/each which was poor.

We stayed at Le Regent last week for two nights and really loved it. The room was predictably small - the door just barely cleared the bed! (But, in Paris, you really have to expect a small room) The bathroom was a fair size and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, the area is really lively and provides so many options for sight-seeing, eating and shopping. Overall, I would reccommend Le Regent to anyone.

Glad we had a roof top balcony or the room, though charming (standard double), would have been too small for 2; for those who favor a bit more space, would upgrade to superior room. Great staff. EXCELLENT location. Good restaurants nearby (Allard)

We liked our stay very much. Is was a recommmendation by an Englishman. Only the prize seemed to be a little high but it is Paris and it is one of the hearts of Paris. We hadn´t breakfast there but the small room in the basement wasn´t really welcomimg. And the bars are round the corner. I will recommend this hotel.

All the people manning the front desk at various times were very helpful and polite. The hotel is in an excellent and vibrant neighborhood. The only grouse was that our standard bedroom and ensuite bathroom were extremely small. Our bedroom (no.62) was on the top floor and the slopes of the roof limited the space in our room. Even the size of the double bed is too small for two people to sleep comfortably. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay.

With the 24 hour cafes right outside our window and our friends in another hotel describing their sleepless night above a bar. we were a bit worried. But the sound proofing was excellent! The location to the cafes and gorcery stores on Rue de Buci can't be beat. The rooms were very spacious for Europe. The bathroom had a bit of a strange smell.

My husband and I went to Paris for the first time, we did not have any idea of what to expect. by using Venere, I became more knowledgeable on what there was to be offered. The website is absolutely fabulous. Our hotel, Le Regent, was very quaint, rooms small but expected, very Warm and inviting, location the best we believe in St Germain des pres area but most of all the staff's disposition and willingness to help us with absolutely anything was the key factor to this hotel. Yes it was a great place, but the service was superb. That in itself can make or break a good trip. We will definitely request this hotel, when we go back and recommend it to anyone with out hesitation.

Would definately recommend this hotel to friends, and hope to visit again one day!

I travelled with a friend from college. We loved the location of the hotel. When you walk outside there are tons of great restaurants and boutiques and people everywhere so there is always something to see or do. Student area/antiques district as well. Also felt very safe in the area, even late at night because the streets were never deserted. Had the hotel been 5 blocks in a different direction, we might have missed out on some of the excitement. Able to walk to a lot of main attractions from the hotel. The room itself was very small, difficult to even open the 2 suitcases and have access to the bathroom. However, the bed, room, and bathroom were clean, and we would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in Le Regent over the Easter Break and was very happy all round with the service. We booked a superior room, which was big enough the only thing I would have preferred was a double bed rather than two singles pushed together but the room was still really good and the ensuite was really nice too. The staff were so friendly it made our stay very enjoyable. They delivered a parcel of little chocolate eggs to all the rooms for Easter! The hotel was situated right in the heart of the Latin Quarter and this area was perfect for us. Nice cafes, lots of shops and bars etc. The Seine, Notre Dame and the Louvre were but a few minutes walk from the hotel. The Eiffel tower was a bit further (30 mins walk) but the walk down the river is very scenic so we didn't need to use the Metro at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Le Regent in December and found the hotel through venere. We decided to pay a little extra and stay in the delux room which was well worth the extra euros, once seeing the size of the normal rooms which were small. The lift was out of use throughout our stay but did not cause us any hassel. The hotel staff were very lovely and did not mind speaking to us in English. On Christmas eve we were left a little bundle of chocolates on our pillow from the hotel staff, which we thought was very lovely. The hotel was close to the markets and the surrounding streets were full of shops. We had a late flight out of Paris and a early check out of the hotel, although this did not cause any problems as the staff were more than happy to keep our bags for the day. Overall we both had a great stay and would recommend Le Regent when staying in Paris.

The hotel gave us a good rate since the elevator was under renovation (stated on their website). We stayed on the 5th floor, which was quite a climb but the porter was really nice and helpful with our luggage. The hotel staff were also very friendly and helpful as well and they speak good English! The hotel is located very near a Metro station and is also in close proximity to the Seine River and major sights like the Lourve and Notre-Dame. The double room we had was a little small but clean otherwise. Overall an enjoyable stay.

I booked a superior room (about 20square metres, instead of a standard one which was described as about 12 sq.m.) and I expected it to be larger than it actually was! The size included the quite large bathroom... so I was a bit disappointed at first, then got used to it. And anyway I took a superior one (at 120€ per noight) only because of the special offer due to the lift installation works, which made all accomodations be 40% cheaper than usual... otherwise the main reason why you pay so much is the amazing location. Nice, welcoming and helpful staff. All in all, I would recommend it!

Hotel was in a great location. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the rooms (although small, which I would expect in central Paris) were clean, well decorated and comfortable. The lift was being refurbished when we were staying, but noise was kept to a minimum and the room was discounted as a result - which was a bonus. Good value for money and I would stay again.

This hotel is in a great location - there is a really lively feel to the area around it. It is a sweet hotel and it's worth getting a room on one of the upper floors with a view out over the rooftops and Notre Dame. The room is small, but how long do you want to spend in your room when you're in Paris?

Fantastic location, friendly welcome, good price, BUT the room was very small (and we're used to small Paris hotel bedrooms!). Air conditioning in the room, which was very welcome. The lift starts from the first floor - difficult if you have heavy luggage, or have mobility issues. And breakfast had to be ordered in adbance whether you were having it in your room or in the breakfast room. But a fabulous location at a reasonable price, but just a bit cramped for our 5 night stay (and the bed was only a small double, too). Very friendly front desk staff, and a nice recently modernised bathroom.
