Highly recommend Hotel La Manufacture. It was very clean and quiet at night time. Staff were very helpful and able to recoomend some very nice restaurants close by. The hotel is close to the Metro. Room was spotlessly clean, small but perfect for a short weekend break. We had large windows which opened out onto the street. Thoroughly recommend this hotel, would definitely stay there again. Only negative? - Lifts were broken for 1 day, it was a long haul to the 5th floor!

Overall our experience of La Manufacture was excellent. The hotel is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the location is excellent. It is within easy walking distance of the city centre (approx. 15 minutes by foot to Notre Dame) and has excellent access to the metro. The only down side was that the room was very hot, and turning down the air conditioning did little to help with this. With the window open, it cooled down sufficiently, but was noisy at night. Not sure if this would be limited to just our room though. No-one else seemed to have this problem whilst we were there. The staff were most helpful, and all spoke good English without a hint of disdain for having to do so.

This may be the safest hotel in Paris! There is a huge police station just around the corner. Local restaurants are more European than than French but we discovered a small North African one that was very local in its clients and enjoyed the experiment. The hotel staff were competent & helpful, as they had been the first time.

Two special single lacks of the furnishin in the room: not any mirrov and only one chair. On the other side of the street policemen are quaite noisy at night

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. As first time visitors to Paris we appreciated their friendliness. The directions for finding the hotel could have been clearer. If you take the metro to Place d'Italie, go out exit #1 and walk around the big government building, you will see the hotel next to the police station.

La Manufacture is a small and very clean and efficient hotel located in an upscale neighborhood of Paris and only a block from Place d'Italie. Two metro lines make for quick links to a variety of Paris sights plus several frequent buses make for efficient connections to a variety of rail stations etc. The entire hotel was cleaned and freshly painted in September 2009. As is true for most Paris hotels, rooms are small -- but these are well appointed. The elevators work well. The staff are very helpful and friendly. A full and healthy breakfast is provided for $12., which is not all that expensive considering prices in Paris. If you like to walk (the best way to see a city) it is only 30 minutes to the Latin Quarter and Luxembourg Gardens and 10 minutes more to Notre Dame, the Pantheon and related neighborhoods. Close to the hotel are an incredible variety of good restaurants, cinema, sidewalk cafe's, and a few monuments. La Manufacture is a very good choice.

As described. You cc will not be charged until check out. Check in time is 1:00 !!! great for weary travelers. Room fresh and non-smoking with A/C, shower and toilet. Location great with metro access to city. Staff is knowledgeable of Metro use, (which is a must) will advise you best value. Right beside a bank, for ATM use. Police station for safety, although I never felt uneasy in Paris. Our room was small, but does it matter? You bathe and sleep and go out again. You are here to see Paris!!! We did not have breakfast here, but traveled just around the corner to a small bakery or market for fresh fruits, goodies etc.... I promise you will not be disappointed.. Notice the directions from the airport given in hotel detail, they are accurate and bring you about 2 minutes walking distance from hotel front door. Would stay here again.

We came to Paris for a few days of sightseeing. La Manufacture was VERY helpful even booking our airport pickup in advance via email. The front desk staff speaks english and is very accomodating. My single room/bathroom were very small but I must think that is standard for Paris and in this great location. My room facing the courtyard was quiet, but my parents were awoken early by street noise in their room facing the street. I would recommend their breakfast even though it seems expensive, it is quite generous and we had breakfast in the neighborhood one morning for less food, same price. I would stay here again!

We stayed in Hotel La Manufacture for two nights in the spring time, and everything went well. As Americans, we expect hotel rooms to be bigger. We had two large suitcases and barely had enough room to stow them for the night. The bathroom was tiny, but functional. The only real problem was the temperature control. I could not get mine to work, so it was a bit warm at night. On the plus side, the front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating, even making harried arrangements for our airport shuttle at 10 PM for the next morning!

We stayed at Hotel Manufacture in December 08. It might sound like a strange thing to say, but the wonderful, clean smell that hit us as we walked through the door was a fantastic welcome. It made it seem like the hotel was well maintained, which we subsequently found out to be true. The receptionist when we arrived was extremely friendly & efficent, & spoke perfect English. She gave us ideas of where to go & what to see during our time in Paris. She also lent us a travel adaptor when we found the one we had taken didn’t fit. We had a superior room with a balcony, which wasn’t huge, but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only addition that would have been nice would have been a kettle! We had no noise problems from the nearby police station, despite our balcony being above where some of the cars were parked. Another bonus is that the hotel is on a direct Metro line from Gare Du Nord (where the Eurostar terminal is), so it is easily accessible, even with suitcases! We would recommend people buy the advance Metro passes, as you can jump on & off the Metro as often as you like, making it a much easier process than buying individual tickets. All in all, we had a fantastic time in Paris & would recommend Hotel Manafacture to anyone.

Room Quality - We stayed in a double bed room and the room still have enough space for our luggage. However, the room are well decorated and clean, you can feel the artistic sense. The bathroom is quite small but very clean, air-conditioning is working fine. Services - Excellent services! On the day we check-out, we have only 30mins left to get to the Train terminal. The lady at the reception help us to call a cab and told him that we are in a hurry, finally we arrived to the train terminal on time. If the reception didn't help us, we will miss the train to London. Keys are kept at the counter; you may need to ask them for a kettle. If you require more info on the shows in Paris, you are welcome. Location - Location is very near the Metro station, just 2mins walk. There are a few markets and fast food near the Metro as well. The hotel is very safe at night as the police station is just opposite to the hotel.

I lived in Paris for over a year and have to say that this Hotel is a great location for visiting Paris. Very close to metro/buses and carparks if you have a car as we did. We stayed with a 6mth baby and there were no problems for cot etc. The rooms were very different to what we thought we were getting. Quite compact and didn't look like the photos. When I quizzed the staff one of our rooms was actually smaller than we had paid for so they reimbursed us. It was HOT HOT HOT at night. We tried in vane to operate the climate control and couldn't open the window as it was a little noisy outside. We didn't have breakfast as other reviews warned us off, but there was a delightful cafe a minute away so we ate there most mornings. Overall though, we were very happy. We can recommend the hotel and we would return.

From expirience in my country, our hotels are much nicer for the same or even less costs (bigger rooms, more new, in the center of the cities, breakfast included in the price of room everywhere,...). Anyway, I was very satisfied and I will choose the same hotel when I come to Paris again.

Excelent quiet location a few steps from "Place D'italie", Police station near by, you will feel very much safe & secure and specially confortable, Hotel staff are very friendly and helpfull at all times, wonderfull breakfast (Higly recommended!!). Movie theaters down Des Gobelins, shopping center, small food markets 24h where you can buy some fruits to carry on during your daily tours and water to take along (There is no drink water service in the Room). An unforgetable Italian restaurant called "Pizza Cesar" right at the 50 Av. des Gobelins 75013 Tél: 01 43316232 (A must to visit!!) Ask for Fillippo, Excelent food & service (Highly recommended by my husband who is Italian by the way). Besides the Internet service offered by the hotel, there is at your left hand side and outside the hotel just at the corner by the police station an internet shop with nice and low prices. At Place D'italie you can find several Metro station that will connect you to lines 5,6 & 7 which will take you every where around and outside Paris whithout the need of paying expensive tours. Besides, it is more fun to explore the city the way french do. Just buy an integrated ticket which is inexpensive compared to other means of transportation and this will last you for at least 10 trips more than enough to get around and visit most of the historical places and only for 11 Euros for two people!!!, Not bad! specially when you're talking about one of the most expensive cities in Europe and compared to those expensive tours that cost more than 100 euros. Save up your money but don't miss a show or spend it in a nice ride over the Sena for a romantic dinner.

We stayed for one night in November 2007. The hotel was very easy to get to (good metro and bus connections) and find. Excellent room - we had paid slightly more for a superior. I think this was reflected in the large windows and balcony, rather than additional floor space - it was slightly on the small side, even by Parisian standards. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when my girlfriend had left her purse in the room when we had checked out. Breakfast was good, and worth the small extra charge. A fair number of restaurants in the surrounding area, none particularly special but all passable.

Guys, the hotel is not too bad in terms of surroundings. The sound isolation in the rooms is not great. We were on the first floor and could hear somebody walking around reception with high heels every morning from 6am and on. The hotel was beside police station:-) so it was quite around hotel and we felt safe. the rooms are very small. there wasn't even enough space for television so they put it on top of the wadrobe! The bathrooms were tiny. One step and you are on the toilet, stand up and you can wash your hands, half a step - and you are in the shower:-) i thought i've never anything smaller then this:-)

The staff cleaned the room so well in fact that they must have vacuumed up my phone also, because it went missing from my bag during my stay. So, that soured my review from an okay place to stay to avoid if you can. Unless you are looking for a good reason to buy a new phone.

We had an excellent, quiet room that faced the back courtyard. The hotel and room were in very good condition. The hotel is in a peripheral residential area off the Place d'Italia with lots of restaurants, stores, and the crossing point of three metro lines. Breakfast was a good value for money but there are many options in the neighborhood. The front-desk staff was a little overwhelmed at times. An excellent choice for people that know Paris or the metro, good value and I would definitely stay there again.

I've been here with my wife and I had a very good stay! The only problem is the Police station in front of the building, but you can easily ignore the noise produced by them. The hotel is near Place d'Italie and a metro station on the line 6 is easily reachable. I only want to underline that the breakfast is not included in the room price and costs Euro 10.00 per person (but you can eat really a lot!), so you should consider it when you evaluate the overall price.

Very pleasant hotel except for two things: 1. the airconditioning includes a very strongly scented air-freshener which gave me a headache. turning it off reduced the scent but did not eliminate it. 2. my window on the first floor faced directly out at a police station where about a dozen agents were talking raucously all evening, interspersed with occasional squad cars bringing in drunks. i could have closed the window if it wasn't for the scent.

Safest hotel in Paris, next door to the Police Station! Paris Police tend to socialize a lot at all hours of the night. Bring ear plugs and a sense of humor. Otherwise, the hotel is perfect! Small room but spotless. It's just fine for falling into bed after a day of walking all over Paris. Wireless access was great to have too. The lift (elevator) and a real shower were deeply appreciated. The staff are delightful. Breakfast in the hotel may seem expensive but if you eat out, you tend to spend close to the same amount and get half as much food. If you don't want to spend on lunch - eat in the hotel. This hotel is great if you want fast and easy access to the freeway for day trips. Parking is in the shopping mall across the Place d'Italie. Expensive but safe and plentiful.

My wife and I stayed at La Manufacture (standard room) during our visit to Paris for our wedding anniversary. It's a great hotel, with only minor drawbacks. o It's next to a police station, where you'll quickly find out that their cars go 'naw-nee' rather than 'nee-naw'. o There isn't a fridge in the room. o The bathroom (in our room at least) was very small. o Wardrobe space is very limited. o The room is not very spacious. Otherwise, recommended for just about anyone. As for the question of returning to this hotel, we probably wouldn't, but only because we would want to stay in a different area.

A good location if you are travelling by Eurostar as you can get a direct metro. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Being off the main road there is little traffic noise, but we overlooked the police station which was a little noisy on Friday. Although small and lacking storage space, the rooms were OK - especially the bathroom. This is a good value for money hotel in a convenient lcation.

The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. We were upgraded to a very pleasant corner room on an upper floor with a very spacious bathroom. The neighborhood was bustling with lots of shops and restaurants; in the evening I got a much needed haircut at a Redken salon a few blocks from the hotel. I selected this hotel because it is very close to a Metro stop and convenient to Orly. We were on a 24 hour layover on our way from Chicago to Barcelona and had an early flight out of Orly. We arrived at the hotel at about 11:00 in the morning and they stored our bags for us and suggested the room would be available by 2:00pm, which was consistent with my expectations. We had a long but very enjoyable walk to the Left Bank where we had lunch and then continued on our walking tour to the Champs Elysees. Since we had been up all night, we returned to the hotel by Metro at 4:00pm. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only complaint was there was a quite a bit of street noise in the middle of the night. There was some kind of very loud diesel sound that went on for a half an hour. This was followed by an hour of loud talking (which turned out to come from a police station across the street). In my experience, this kind of noise is par for the course in big cities. As it turned out we were so jet lagged we were awake anyway, but this might have otherwise been annoying. Sadly, we had to leave too early in the morning to sample the breakfast at the hotel. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again. It was a very good value and the staff were very pleasant. Another excellent Venere choice.

I can't believe this 3 star Paris hotel provides air conditioner~also wifi & wireless only if you pay some.Besides,it's very modern design of this hotel and receiption man is very kind and gentle. Also, the transportation there is very convenient and you can just take a bus to Opera area or take a 20-minute-walk to the Pantheon. And there is a supermarket just behind the lane of this hotel so I think it saves some money to purchase some food & water.

Very near to the Metro. Nice bathrooms, comfortable bed. Front desk service was great. Breakfast was not worth the price. A bit noisy from the police station next door. All in all, though, a good value for the price.

very nice hotel, good location, will recomend, however, hope you don't have noisy travelers in adjacent rooms like we did because you will hear everything. even so is excellent place to stay.

La Manufacture is a lovely little hotel situated right beside a police station and a few mins walk from a place d'italie metro.Really enjoyed staying there and would go back.Close to restaurants,a shopping centre and a lovely walk to the Left Bank. The room was small and somewhat noisy early in the morning. The decor was very nice and body wash and soap provided.TV also.Nice open foyer with bar and soft sofas and scented candle burning @ night. look forward to staying there again.

All in all we had a very nice stay at this hotel. It was easy to find, clean, modern and friendly. The breakfast was good too(€10p.p.). the next metro-stop is quite close (place d'italie) with lines 5,6 and 7 going anywhere you want till about 1 o'clock in the morning. china town is in walking distance and a good place to go for an inexpensive dinner. will try to book this hotel again next time.

Great service provided by hotel staff. Always courteous and friendly. Rooms tiny but cozy & clean. Great location. 2 mins walk from underground. Lots of shops around the area. Very quaint area. Great place to stay to experience lifestyle of Parisians. Supposed to be residential areas but lots of shops around. Hotel is next to big shopping street. Did not have breakfast at hotel. Found one or two excellent bakeries around the area that make freshly baked bread from wee hours in the morning. I would highly recommend anyone to stay there because of its great service, excellent location & its very clean & cozy rooms.

It was very nice to stay at La Manufacture mostly because the hotel has its own caractere, even if the standard rooms are not so big, they are very clean and practical, good quality of bed, linen and towels. the situation in Paris is nice, right by the Place d'Italy metro.

An excellent hotel with an unbeatable price. The hotel was extremely nice and clean, and the staff was very helpful and accomodating. Location was great and very close to the subway station. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and recommend it to everyone.

Great little hotel with excellent quality vs. price relationship for Paris. Not exactly centrally located, but in a nice living neighbourhood and very close to a subway stop with lines that will take you anywhere very conveniently. Public areas "boutique hotel", standard rooms simple but clean and not small for Paris. Very good breakfast for 10,-

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. However the rooms are very small. However if you are couple on a romantic weekend this is a great hotel at very reasonable prices. Its location at Place d'italia is a little away from the main drag of Paris but honestly this is a welcome relief after doing tourist things alll day to go back to a non touristy area. The restaurants in the area are excellent and there is a lot of them. The Italian ones being excellent of course. The cleanliness in the hotel was excellent and this for me is the most important thing. I would have no problem recommending this hotel to someone.

This hotel was a great bargain. The location is a little out of the way but very accessible and the area is very nice in its own right. The staff was so friendly and very patient in helping with all my questions (I had lots). They even called to confirm my next hotel booking for me. I really enjoyed my stay.

My room was on the first floor and faces to the police station. I heard some officers standing outside chatting something till 11:00 pm every night. That was a little bit annoying. But, except that, I am content with most things at the hotel. The staff are frindly and efficient. Surroundings of the hotel are nice.

Generally this is a reasonable place to stay and price reflects quality. The rooms are tiny and breakfast isn't open until 7am which is a problem if you need to travel. The staff were not overly knowledgeable about travel arrangements - e.g. didn't know where the nearest place was that you could get a bus to the airport.

Excellent hotel. Personnel is kind and qualified. Bedrooms, bathrooms and their furnitures are first class. Common areas and breakfasts could be improved.

This facility is overpriced for what it offers. The location is good but it hardly qualifies as a boutique hotel. The service is poor, the staff was not helpful. Avoid the corner room at the top floor -- it is incredibly cramped that one cannot even fully open the door to the balcony. What's worse is that the smell of sewer gas permeates the space (must be coming from the roof plumbing vents). If you open the window, exhaust from the cars below is too bothersome. The staff must be aware of this problem as they did not even ask why we requested to switch to a different room. The substitute room was better only because it was free of the sewer gas smell. Overall, it would be acceptable had the price been commensurate with the quality. To reiterate, It is overpriced.

I found the hotel tastefully designed, the staff really friendly and helpfull which made our stay a delight. I would highly recommmend this hotel and the rates we recieved from Venere made it excellent value for money. Dawn Clarke, Belfast. 2004
