This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel that I have ever stayed. 3/4 of our window was blocked by a large aluminum panel. They had the worst options for wi-fi access. The shower stall did not drain properly giving you about 3 minutes before you had to shut the water off to prevent the pool of water that you were standing in from flowing onto the bathroom floor. On top off all that, any time someone in apparently any room in the hotel would turn on their air conditioner, the whole place would lose power. The guy at the desk would flip the breakers back after a few minutes, but without fail, someone else would power up their air conditioner within a matter of minutes leading to another power outage. It was 80 degrees and everyone was left without power and AC. Somehow, the guy at the front desk still managed to look shocked and surprised that we were checking out early. My recommendation would be stay at the Hotel Duret. It's a bit off the beaten path and Hemingway never stayed there, but it is a thousand times better than this dump!

This was my third time to stay at Les Jardins St. Germain, and I think that says a lot. You really can't beat this hotel for location and price. Although the rooms are small and utilitarian, they are no smaller than most 3 star hotels in Paris. The rooms are clean, and everything is always in good working order (including the air conditioner). The Metro stop is very close, and it is right next to the trifecta of Les Deux Magots, Cafe de Flore, and Brasserie Lipp. The only reason I don't stay here every time I go to Paris is because it has already been full.

I was very disappointed. I know that 3 star in Europe does not always match with 3 star here in the USA. However, the pictures on the internet were not even close to the accommodations. No lobby, just a hallway. No lounge, no fire place .. I had expectations of sitting in the fireplace room to read and found I didn't even want to stay in the hotel. I am not sure if I will use this website to book rooms in the future. Vendors should have ethics to post correct photos' and set reasonable expectations on property.

By train
The nearest train station is Gare Montparnasse, from where you can reach the hotel by underground line 4 directly to the St-Germain des-Prés stop.

By airplane
From Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport take RER B to Châtelet Les Halles station and then take underground line 4 to St-Germain des-Prés station.
From Orly airport take RER B to Denfert Rochereau station and then take underground line 4 to St-Germain des-Prés station.
