It is not *** hotel, I can give this hotel 1* with the half. But price and accomodation are good. That's it.

Although a convenient hotel for its central location, the staff were less than friendly. They were more concerned with enforcing their petty rules on what could and couldn't be taken to the rooms. An occasional word of welcome or smile would've been nice but were never forthcoming. I wouldn't go back there.

For your information – I was several times I Paris – but this Hotel is not my cup of tea. Bed was very bad – 1 madras very hard – 1 madras very soft and very old. The host was not service minded. And had his own rules about taking a little pain to the room. The internet booking said not anything about that. I will not rent a room at this place again.

The hotel was being repaired. I was told to pay in full on check-in and was even asked to read and sign 'rules of the hotel guests' or something like this. It smelled a like concentration camp. Breakfast was not available. The keeper was not welcoming, to say the least. A hotel to be avoided!

2€ of the reservation not refunded. Internet only available in one PC on the lobby (15€/m). No wifi or hotspot available. No smoking or eating allowed. Clean. Decent room size. Good water pressure. One elevator, but in the mornings be prepared to use the stairs. Very well located for the price.

Very good location and very frendly and professional staff. But I was shocked when in the center of Paris i was bitted by bed-bugs.

Welcoming was quite poor. Room was small, previously occupied by smokers. Took 2 days to get rid of the smell. Single beds are tiny, mind not to fall off when you turn! Bathroom needs a good scrub. Hotel surrounding are great, nice Jewish bakeries! Wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The hotel look ok from the outside but once entering the elevator going to the room is a bit difficult. The elevator is SMALL. Barely fit two with small luggages. The was dissappointing. We order a double bed. We got two single pushing together. And the worst part was the two beds are not the same height. One bed is so worn-out that we have to use the extra blankets to lay on so our backet wouldn't hurt. We makes these complaints to the managers and all was fix was the bed got level. The shower was also needed fixing. And plus the heater DO NOT work eventhough the staff keep insist that it does. We kept as them the fix it but never got done. The evening staff seem to try to help but the morning "manager" does not seem to care because they makes us pay upfront when we check-in. The keep promising but only empty promises. We would NOT stay at this hotel again. We would NOT recommend others to saty at this hotel.

After we saw the room`s condition, we wanted to stay only the 2 nights that we had to pay for cancelling the reservation, but they said that we had to pay the full week or we had no rights to stay, unprofessional attitude with customers, stupids rules such as ordering breakfats with 24 hours in advance, to order a taxi 24 hours before, to have one coffee you had to pay full breakfast!!!! they do not sell just one coffee !!! The elevator is for only 1 person, 2 person very tight and no space for suitcases. This hotel should not be on the list of the 3 stars hotels, services and location is 1 star hotel.

TV is without English Speaking channel like CNN et al. If news or sport on TV is important, make sure you can understand french. Internet private connections is run by third party who needs your credit card detail. Trust is at the core against this type of setup especially when I can't speak good enough french to complain if things go pear shaped. Note this that everything here is at the basic of basics.

The staff was really unwelcoming, unfriendly and rude. They made a point at not speaking english. We were charged an extra fee (15 euros) that was not mentioned on Venere. We will never stay in that place again and don't recommend it to anyone. I doubt this place is a 3 star hotel and if it is the Tourism Board needs to review the ratings. The place needs a complete refurbishment. It was very expensive in comparison to what was provided. The only positive is its location in relation to everything (near Opera).

1. The staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. They kept trying to change rooms on us, telling us that we had to change to another room (which was identical to the one we were already in) because another guest would be arriving that made their reservation before we made ours. Their scheduling system made no sense at all. They refused to speak English to us until the 3rd day we were there (the same person had previously refused to speak English, and then suddenly learned to speak it overnight). 2. The hotel was overpriced. Everynight we were there they advertised a lower price (by 100 Euro) than what we paid. 3. The rooms were not very clean.

Rooms were dirty and cramped. Three stars in Paris is obvioulsy no indication of quailty as friends staying nearby had much nicer place in same star rated hotel for less money. Additional charge of city tax not mentioned beforehand and was applied to baby as well. Would not stay there again and would not advise friends to stay there.

Be aware that venere.com will charge your credit card with 2 Euro for the reservation. I get a good rate for a short stay (weekend) in Paris regarding the location of hotel. It's clean and the room was quite spacious. Is not worth to take breakfast in hotel, nearby there are a lot of bistros where you can eat at a decent price.

Context - hotels in Paris are very expensive and tend to use historical buildings. Rooms are smaller and reception areas are simple. Only the very expensive and newly built don't follow this rule. Taking this into consideration, we found the Geoffroy Marie Opera to be a very good value for the money. The staff was dry but helpful, including the owners. They gave us tips on where to eat and to buy things at local price. There was a mistake in the closing bill, which was resolved easily. The room was clean and spacious enough for us and our two boys. Adequately cleaned. A bit noisy in the morning (front facing first floor). The elevator is ancient and small. Location was very good, inside the Opera district. It is close to the train station, which is perfect for getting around Paris. There were cafés, food stores and a laundry close by. We didn’t try their restaurant, as we thought the many places close by were a better deal. Great place for tourists on a budget, particularly if you are travelling with kids.

For 3 stars hotel they could at least clean under the beds. The dust there was not only visible but when it was windy the dust was spreading around and gave you allergy. Also nobody at the desk could you help in English and they were not cooperative at all for any questions whatsoever. They didn't specify taxes on top of the rate.

This hotel is a reasonable place to stay for a night or two. It is clean and appears to be reasonably priced, and is in an area close to restaurants and stores selling groceries (good if wanting to self-cater). Do note, however, that it is VERY DIFFICULT (in fact, impossible) to find this hotel using the directions given on this website, as the map doesn't show enough street names and cross roads to locate it- you will need a decent map of central Paris to find it.

4-person-family (son 18, daughter 15) We stayed there for 3 nights in the first aprildays. We had the only quadruple (4-bedroom), which is in the first floor and are 2 combined rooms with 4 single comfortable beds. Its really quiet and we slept well. There is a little refrigerator in the room. The breakfastroom is nice but the breakfast too expensive and poor quality. The location is excellent in a quiet little street full of hotels and neighborhoodstores, near two metrostations, in the city.If you want you can reach Montmarte or Quartier Latin in a half hour by walking. Overall we were quite happy with this hotel. It's not the Ritz but you know that going in. It is close to 2 metro stops that service 3 different lines and we thought that the location was quite good. The staff were quite friendly and very helpful at check in. The free map was a nice touch. Only complaints were the tiny lift - one at a time if you have bags, and that our room smelt of smoke every day after it had been made up, yet didn't when we first arrived. We would stay there again as the price is quite good for the location in Paris.

The hotel was almost as expected but I wonder what makes this a three star hotel? We stayed at other two star hotels during our visit in France and we thought they were better. We had to pay cash and in advance which was a miscalculation. The clerk said it was due to problems with the creditcardmachine. The rooms were small but ok. What was most anoying was that the bathtub and the sink sewers didn't work well. They should clean up the pipes!

I was nervous booking for the first time online however the hotel was brilliant. I was looking for a budget booking of a quad room but the room we had was much larger than I anticipated - actually being two rooms that could be separated by double doors with a window at each end. The staff were really helpful - booking taxi's etc and were brilliant when we had to report the theft of a wallet on the metro. Location was excellant with the Folies Bergere at the end of the street and walkable to the Louvre in about 15 mins or Montmartre in the opposite direction. I'd definately recommend this hotel.

Die eher einfache Ausstattung der Zimmer wird durch die sehr gute Lage deutlich übertroffen. Vom Hotel aus sind fast alle Sehenswürdigkeiten fußläufig erreichbar. It a very nice little hotel in the center of Paris nere the Metro. The service was very nice and all the personnel spoke very good English. The only problem was the rigidity of bads, it was really difficult to get used to them. Good price/quality ratio. Not a fancy place, but honest for the price. Should post better directions: arriving from CDG airport it is far better to get off the RER at Gare du Nord, take the Metro 4 to Strasbourg Saint Denis and make one more change (Metro 9) to Grands Boulevards rather than changing at Chatelet Les Halles as suggested where the station is huge and one loses 15 min. just to reach Metro 7.
