This hotel is the perfect place to stay in Paris. It's location allows easy access of all the major sites by foot /metro /RER. We had the triple room and it was spacious by french standards...Our room faced the inner courtyard so it was also quiet, in spite of the active night life just outside the door. Lots of good places to eat withing few blocks of the front door. I highly recommend the St. Severin.

The room was excellent in a great location for walking around Paris. The neighborhood is very touristy, which I did not like, but the room was huge and comfortable with great pillows and hot water and all amenities. I will definitely return again.

This is a great hotel in a very central Paris neighborhood in something like a tourist ghetto. That's not a bad thing if you are a first-time visitor to Paris like we were. It is surrounded by restaurants and shops catering to tourists - especially english-speaking tourists. It is very close to the St Michel Metro/RER station which made getting around very easy. The staff were very helpful, providing directions and recommendations for places to eat. The only downside we experienced was that the free wi-fi doesn't appear to work anywhere but in the lobby. I think we would stay someplace else next time to get a more local feel, but this is a clean, well-run hotel near everything you'd want to see in Paris for a reasonable price.

Spent one night at the hotel but due to location managed two full days of sight seeing, just around the corner from metro stop.Brilliant. Close to Notre Dame and the tour buses(very useful). Room spacious, especially for a triple(third bed was full size)and didnt feel cramped for three adults.Would recommend and stay there again.

This is a fairly nice hotel, but with very small rooms, even by Paris standards. But if you don't mind being a little cramped, the location is incredible. You are in the heart of the Latin Quarter, surrounded by dozens of restaurants and bars. You are a five minute walk of Notre Dame, and one minute from a Metro stop.

Fabulous location for ability to walk to central Parisian landmarks--Notre Dame, St, Chapelle, etc. Multiple touristy restaurants in neighborhood. Staff very helpful, and the breakfast in the restaurant was much more plentiful than most other hotels. Rooms small but comfortable. Would go to this hotel again.

Comfortable yet quiet despite its position in the centre of the night life of Quartier Latin. Breakfast reasonable value and choice. I will stay there again when I next travel to Paris. This

The very good Italian restaurant nextdoor is to be reached through the hotel-launch. The neighbourhood -Quartier Latin- is lively and close to many interesting places to visit. For instance the many art-gallery's in st Germain des Prés. Metro around the corner. I visited this hotel over 40 years ago. It still has the same atmosphere, with modernized equipment though.

Excellent hotel, definitely recommend it and would definitely come back! Nice rooms, wooden floors (so no dirty carpets), kind service at front desk. Simple but good breakfast, super fresh croissants and fresh fruit (!) salad. Excellent surroundings, right in the heart of the Quartier Latin. Thumbs up!

We so much enjoyed the hotel - especially the location just half a block from Boulevard Saint-Michel, and 2 blocks from Boulevard Saint-Germain. 2 minutes from the Seine on the left bank and 5 minutes walk to Notre Dame.

For us the location was ideal rive gauche and Notre Dame etc and the nearby metro station good for links to other districts. We had superior room that was on corner of the building I suppose was just a bit larger than the others. Overlooked very busy street but with the double windows we were not unduly disturbed and good to stand at balcony and people watch, popular spot for street entertainers. The bed was generously sized and comfortable, plenty plump pillows and padded headboard. Breakfast was good standard, fresh fruit, cereals, the usual jambon and fromage and nice bread and preserves. Reception staff most helpful. We were very satisfied with our choice.

The location is perfact, in the center of the latine quarter between restaurants. very safe and beutiful. the rooms are small but the second flore rooms have balconies to the streets (our room 203) was more spacious than other rooms. breakfast is preety good compare to what you can get in other restaurants for 10eur. the staff is helpfull and overall it is recomended for the price you pay in this neigbourhood.

This hotel is wonderful! It's a block away from Notre Dame and is within walking/metro distance of just about everything. The room we had was just lovely. Definitely small, but it had a very quaint, European quality to it. The people working the front desk speak English and were very helpful. We liked it so much that we’ll be sending my parents there in the near future.

This a very nice hotel with wonderful persons in the reception. Its location is very good close to everything, including RER3 from the airport CDG. We were in Paris in february and it was very cold. The single glasses in windows and balcony is unsufficient. It was colder in Paris than in Stockholm, where we live. Anyway I would recommend the hotel, but it is preferable if you can go to Paris in the spring. Eat at nearby Chez Clement. Don't miss the Rodin museum or Centre Pompidou. Lars-Göran Nygren Stockholm

The hotel was under construction and it was during the Rugby finals so I think all hotel rooms in Paris were overpriced, so my impression was not great. I think on a less busy weekend, when the stairs are carpeted and there are light fixtures, the hotel will be quite nice. Great location and friendly staff were a bonus.

The hotel is located in a wonderful area with convenient access to metro, RER, and Paris sights. The staff was helpful and friendly. Take advanatge of the breakfast offered in the hotel at an EXTRA charge, because eating breakfast in ANY of the neighboring cafes is VERY expensive.

We had a balcony room overlooking the fascinating street scene. Loved watching the multitude of restaurants come to life every morning, the thousands of people that passed below every night during the week we were there, the buskers who entertained the crowds. The balcony was worth every bit of the small extra charge. The location was definitely fun but also practical being close to transportation and to shopping. The staff at Hotel Europe were very helpful and friendly and in no time knew who you were and greeted you by name whenever you returned. Would certainly love to return.

The hotel is in a PERFECT location. The room was very similar to the one shown in the website. It was clean and more spacious than others in same category hotels. Breakfast is not included. And it is a little bit expensive. If I will be in Paris again in the future, I will stay in this hotel (I hope...).

I was very impressed with the Hotel Europe Saint Severin. It was in the perfect location for us, in the Latin Quarter which is full of cafes, bars and restaurants and very close to Notre Dame and the metro. The staff at the Hotel were lovely - very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was full of charm and character and was very clean. One big help to us was that we could leave our bags after we checked out as our flight home wasn't until late in the afternoon. I wouldn't hesitate in reccommending the Hotel to anyone and will definately stay there the next time I go to Paris.

When I arrived, they gave me a room that was very much less quality than the one pictured as a triple room on the Venere sight. They said that the room in the picture was a triple suite, although it was clearly labeled triple room. Suites were not mentioned or offered on the site. They blamed the error on Venere and offered no concessions whatsoever, much less the room we were promised. This after they had cancelled my reservation in error earlier and offered concessions at that point to which I only asked that I get the room I had booked in the picture and they agreed. I relied upon their pictures and prices when comparing other hotels, and would have stayed elsewhere if I had known they were fraudulent. Location was great but beds, service, rooms and ratty conditions were appalling. Truly deserving of the phrase "WHAT A DUMP!".

You can't find a better location for seeing the main sights of Paris. Right in the middle of the Quartier Latin and close to Notre Dame, the Louvre and Museum d'Orsay. Plenty of restaurants, bars and cafés in the immediate vicinity. About 100 meters from the St. Michel metro and RER station with direct trains to the airport. Helpful staff on the front desk. The breakfast was a mini buffet but more than adequate. One comment though, breakfast isn't included in the price of the room so add 10 Euros per person. This wasn't clear on the website. The room was standard size for a two star European city hotel. The shower and WC were spotless and towels were changed daily. There was some noise from the street outside and the Boulevard Saint Michel but I didn't find that disturbing, just a faint murmur with the window closed. There is a lift (elevator) so people with mobility problems shouldn't have too much trouble with access though I wouldn't say it is easily accessible with a wheelchair as the corridors are quite narrow. All in all good value for money and the location just can't be beaten. I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a clean budget hotel in the centre of Paris. I would most definitely stay here again!!

the location is really convinient, and pleasant staffs. But room was very small, and a little pricey, and little bit noisy because of the thin walls. But you can feel the atmosphere of Paris. It was nice hotel.
USA, Oct 2006
The staff with the exception of one older woman (she may have been the manager) was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help us and answer our questions. The location was ideal! The RER B and metro stations were only a block away. If you are planning on taking the subway from either airport, all you need is the RER B to the Saint Michelle/Notre Dame stop. No other connections are needed. The hotel is one block south and 1/2 a block east. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

The rue St Severin is full of restaurants and take-away food shops. The street looks tatty but don't let this put you off staying here - the hotel was excellent in every respect and exceeded our expectations. The noise we experienced was from guests' children playing on the stairwell - not the fault of the hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and had maid service every day, which doesn't happen in most 2 star hotels. Whilst hotel staff were efficient, welcoming and polite the same cannot be said of the staff of the adjoining Italian restaurant; service was extremely slow and the order was wrong. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Our stay at the Hotel Europe Saint Severin was for four nights. We found the facility to be a bit funky (others might say "shabby"). However, the front desk personnel were very welcoming, cordial and helpful. While the hotel enjoys an excellent Left Bank location, we regarded it as significantly overpriced. We believe that we could be more comfortable elsewhere at an equal or lower daily rate, and, accordingly, would probably not stay in this hotel on a return trip to Paris.

Hotel is very well located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, just a few yards (I mean metres) from the Boulevard Saint Michell. Ideal for exploring the `Left Bank`, the two islands and very close to Saint Michell Metro & RER station for other areas and CDG airport. No complaints at all regarding the hotel itself, I was in a room facing away from the street. I was told that the rooms facing the street (some of which have a small balcony)are subject to noise from the narrow street below. Some find this a nuisance, others love the atmosphere of the streets in the evening. I would love to stay here again!

Strong points were location and price. Located 50 meters from RER and metro you can walk to Notre Dame, the Louve and some of the best cafes in Paris. This is definately the best location, near to metro and surrounded by the beautifil Latin quarter, just a stroll from Notre Dame and the Seine. Travelling by myself, it was the perfect accomodation. I had a single room, the bathroom was a little tight for space, but in the end, do you need a huge bathroom? So long as it is clean and the water works, it's ok by me. Also central to for starting a day's touring (e.g. St. Germain des Pres, Notre Dame, Le Louvre, etc).

The location of this hotel is excellent - it was as it says, literally a 2 min walk from the river. Plenty of hotels, shops etc., on the doorstep. Notre Dame was a few mins away and the metro stop also two mins away - we were able to come directly from the airport to the hotel. The room we got was a triple room even though we booked a double room. We stayed for 3 nights and rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels etc. Overall we were very happy with the hotel. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food, but the restaurant was always very busy so can't have been that bad!! Weather was also perfect which we didn't expect in October!

Friendly staff, enough room-space, perfect location and zero noice from the streets. That's the good things I'll remember. Unfortunately, I will also remember the strange and loud noices coming from inside the hotel at dawn (cleaning?) and the loud guests coming in late at night. The cleaning was probably excellent, but the first thing we saw entering the room for the first time was dirt on the floor. That made us a bit... hesitant. But after that, no problem. I can recommend the hotel.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at your property. There is no better location in Paris, and I have been there 20 times. The clerks were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The only complaint I have is that I was not notified of the availability of a larger room. I saw larger rooms during clean-up and would have loved having one with some type of lounge area. I know there would have been a price difference, and that would have been acceptable. I simply was not aware they existed. You have a great little place and I would stay again. John Windsor

This hotel is very near Notre Dame.. it's a typical cute little european hotel... and in a busy latin quarter... with dozens of cafe's and restaurants and gift stores just outside your door. I specifically relied on the advertising website's statement that "all rooms have minibars", as I take medication which must be refridgerated; in fact, I included a statement specifying such reliance when I made the reservation. I arrived to be told the single room I had reserved did not have a minibar and I would have to "upgrade" to a room costing 30% more in order to get the promised refridgeration. Obviously, I had no choice but to upgrade. Additionally, the rooms do not have baths, only very small shower stalls. I would not use this reservation service again, as the information provided was not accurate. For a person who does not need accurate information, does not mind a very small room and does not mind being in a very touristy section of the Left Bank, the hotel would be workable - the people who worked there were pleasant and competent, for the most part. My objection is to the dishonesty in the description of the property and in the reservation process.

Knowing the limited size of most Paris hotel rooms and cautious about the quality of the hotel, I booked a double, though alone. The room was perfect for one (two would be squeezed.) A small balcony overlooking the teeming pedestrianised area of rue St Severin (cafes and stalls of every ethnicity) was charming. Once the french door was closed all noise was closed out. The staff were helpful and seemed to speak a number of languages. As a woman I felt extremely safe. All left bank activity and Notre Dame etc,was within easy walking distance, the St. Michel metro offers easy access to tout Paris. The latin quarter, being rich in history and the arts threw up some serendipitous treats; a Chopin recital in the St. Severin, a Maria Callas celebration in St Julian le pauvre and, slightly further afield an outdoor performance of The Marriage of Figaro in the Luxemburg Gardens. I would highly recommend the hotel as a base, provided expectations are realistic. My book club is considering it as a base for a Parisian experience.

De l'Europe is such a great hotel for the price. If I ever get back to Paris, I WILL stay here again. I'd adjust my trip around it if necessary. For 2 young, single, post-college gals, this was a very positive experience. The area we stayed in was bustling and exciting and it felt very safe to walk around at night because there were so many people (and NOT sketchy people) walking around at all hours and the streets were well lit. (ALSO- the room's balcony doors had to have been sound-proofed, b/c you could hear a pin drop when those babies were closed) The staff was SO friendly and spoke English extremely well. So, the room's not spacious - big deal. How much room do you NEED, really? You should see the bathroom; it was very nice and very modern (better than mine at home!). And the restaurant attached to the hotel was very tasty and affordable for the quality. I definitely recommend this hotel if you'd like to stay in a busy, fun area of Paris.
