Nice hotel close to RER train station and Latin Quarter restaurants. Very comfortable beds. But...wifi was terrible. Very slow, intermittent and barely usable. I would stay there again if they improved the wifi.

This is a small but pretty hotel. Room was very charming, decorated nicely. Elevator was tiny, but stairs were fine to take. Very clean room, good location for catching subway or train. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice location, obviously. The room was small but very well decorated and pristine. We had contact with two memebers of staff; none of them bothered to even smile - not the greatest welcome. I would use the hotel again mostly because it's well located - and I never expect too warm a welcome form Parisian hotel staff anyway!

Nice hotel: fairly clean and respectable. Friendly staff (except for the door-woman when we first went in). We were in a triple room, which had a tiny bath as well as a shower. That sounds like a complaint, but it's not: it was hugely helpful to have a little bath for our three-year-old. Quibbles: the whole place could use a little maintenance, the air-conditioning means that the entire place smells of coffee from 7am, and the "free wifi" was very, very slow. I'd recommend it/go back though. Great location, especially if you're travelling by Eurostar. Decent breakfast, if a little pricey. But I know enough about Paris hotels not to complain, this is a pretty good one.

The staff was not friendly, and tended to treat us like we were bothering them when we came in contact, which wasn't often, basically just to check in and check out and asked a few questions. However it seemed most people were like that everywhere we went so I guess they had to uphold the reputation of the Parisians, which is to be snobbish and unfriendly. Our occasion was for sightseeing.

The room and location were great. Price (as always is the case in Paris) was too high for what you get. I went to one of the members of staff at the front desk the first night to ask for recommendations for meals in the area and he shrugged and said he was new to Paris and did not know of anything. That was a bit surprising since I'd assume the staff would be trained or at least given maps/guides to show to tourists even if they personally don't have recommendations. I was specifically frustrated with the hotel management regarding breakfast. They did not make it clear upon arrival that our charges didn't include breakfast. There were no signs stating this and they had us sign a check in sheet that mentioned it in small writing only in French. The breakfast was not good and absolutely not worth what they charge for it. When I brought up my concerns the manager had no interest in proposing a solution and insisted it was my fault for not reading the paperwork (in French though I do not speak a word of French) carefully. The manager's attitude was horrible and dismissive and the front desk rep was just as bad and changed her story about whether or not she said verbally that breakfast was not included (once her manager was there she said she told us when she clearly admitted not telling us before he arrived). All in all, our experience was heavily tainted due to this situation and what was a nice hotel in a good location is now somewhere I would never return or recommend in light of the horrible treatment of the manager and front desk team.

Nice 3-stars hotel, a bit expensive, awsome location in Latin quarter, next to Luxembourg gardens and RER station, and also not far from St. Germain district. Relatively spacious rooms (for Paris), reasonably priced mini-bar, a million cafes, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions at an easy walking distance. Shower and bath are nice and clean, but there is no bath curtain - if the water stream is too strong, it might cause a flood. I do find the hotel pricy for a 3-star hotel (I paid 170 Euro a night, luckily I didn't pay for it myself). But it's good value. Do try to get a cheaper deal than this...

Very nice position close to the du Luxembourg with many cafeterias where it is possible to have a breakfast cheaper than in the Hotel. Not to far from Notre Dame and the post important touristic sites. Close by the Luxemburg station, but note that it is a RER station (useful when you arriving from the airport) and not a metro station.

A bit expensive for the size of the room we had (1 double and 1 single) but Paris is expensive in general these days! The location was great. It's right on the RER line if your coming from the airport. Literally just around the corner from the Metro stop. Staff was very helpful in helping us with an airline problem we had.

Found the hotel quite pleasant in a safe neighbourhood. No rooms are huge in Paris, but for the family room we booked there was room enough without war breaking out! There was also a second pull out bed under the single, so although the room was for 3 it could have accepted 4. The balcony onto the street was safe for kids and the traffic noise was not too bad on floor 5. The aircon worked and was quiet. Bathroom fittings were modern and clean, although bathroom was tiny. Breakfast was average, quantity good though. Good location 50m from RER station - to CDG in only 30 minutes without changing, great plus point. Nearest Metro was a 10 min walk. Luxembourg gardens nearby are beautiful.

The situation of the hotel is excellent, close to the busy Latin Quarter, the calmness of the Jardin du Luxembourg and within walking distance of the Île de la Cité. We decided to eat breakfast in nearby cafes, as it was rather expensive at the hotel. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. The pictures of the rooms on the internet however, did not correspond with what the room looked like " in real life", this was a bit dissapointing. This was our 6th stay in Paris and we have stayed in several different areas, this area was definately one of the best ones if you only have a few days to spend.

Very enjoyable stay. Comfortable rooms. Excellent staff. Great location (although would prefer to be on a metro line rather than the RER). Only downside was the internet did not work for us (although at 1 Euro the price was right:). Would return. Only noise problem was from the street (Rue Gay Lussac is busy). Perhaps back rooms are quieter.

The best thing about this Hotel is its location, about 2 mins walk from the RER, direct from CDG Airport and just around the corner from the Jardins de Luxembourg. We visited during renovations in April 07 and the room itself was pretty worn, well in need of refurbishment, which has probably been done now. The size of the room was great for Paris, and we even caught a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower from the bathroom window! There are lots of places to eat directly around the hotel, with a fab little place directly underneath it, tasty pizzas, not bad prices and open late. Go to the markets at Rue Mouffetard from here, its only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit. I've stayed in different areas of Paris and found the Luxembourg Quarter the best so far, would recommend this hotel.

Our family of 5 (2 kids ages 5 and 7) enjoyed our accommodations at the Elysa Luxembourg. We stayed in one deluxe double and one triple room. The rooms were clean and in good repair. The staff was friendly, and for the most part, competent. (I wanted to check our bill on our next to last day, but the night clerk wasn't able to help with this.) Don't pay 12.50 euros for their breakfast. The quantity and selection are underwhelming. You can get fruit and pastries at nearby convenience stores and bakeries for much less. There is a McDonald's around the corner if you prefer a less potent cup of morning coffee than that available at most restaurants. A minor point - the photos of the lobby on their web page need to be updated. The furniture is very nice, but is now black, not cream.

We were met at reception by a very friendly gentleman (who sorry to say I have forgotten his name) answered all our questions and gave suggestions on sights and attractions. I asked on booking if we could have a room with a view but did not expect to get one, so when we got into our room which was much bigger than I had expected (having stayed in Paris before and just come from hell hotel in London) had great views and the little addition of chocolates by the bedside set the tone for three nights and four fabulous days. The room was clean and airy there was very little street noise even though we were in a corner room with streets on either side. We were able to walk everywhere with lots of cafes, resturants etc close by. The metro was also very close. I cannot comment on breakfast as we didn't eat at the hotel.

The hotel provided something called a 'mini bar' with water, juices etc. and charged me for 3 days when they did not fill up the mini bar. And when I asked the only employee at the desk, he said that he couldn't do anything about it. They also charged me for some wine, when as a family we don't drink, b'cos of religious reasons. It is very deceitful for the hotel to add charges like this. The location of the hotel is the best thing about it.

Staff was very nice and pleasant, although a couple times they forgot to ring my wake up call. Housekeeping is a little eager - the one day I slept in late (12pm) I think they knocked on my door at least 6 or 7 times in 2 hours. Everyone was generally very helpful with directions and information about the area, metro, Paris attractions, etc. The elevator is probably the strangest and smallest one I've ever seen, and I think it's a converted closet. If traveling in a group, multiple trips will definitely be necessary. But overall, the room and accomodations were great for the price. The view from the 5th floor (facing the street) is great. The room I was given was a triple, even though I booked a single. There was plenty of room. The location is excellent - there are many shops, cafes, a grocer, movie theaters, etc. nearby.
