The room was slightly damp and smelt smokey, the shower dripped continually and the shower tap was loose and difficult to use. The Wi-Fi access wasn't working but a staff member kindly allowed me to access the email on his computer. The staff member 'Ahssen' was very welcoming. The location of the hotel is OK, in a 'down market' area with easy access to the city and some nice local shops and a good park. Finally on checking out I had to pay by cash which was a surprise (and might cause some problems for people who were expecting to pay by credit card).

Good value for the money for Paris ,rooms cleaned daily and clean towels put out each day . Plenty of hot water . Close to metro line 11 , 5min walk from Jourdain station to hotel. 15 min on metro to centre. friendly and helpful staff.supermarket just around the corner and plenty of places to eat nearby .would use again

This hotel is your money's worth - it is very inexpensive, close to a subway directly downtown, bakeries, banks, etc. all around and even a view of the Eiffel tower from the street corner at the subway stop. Rooms are small, old, dark, with ancient carpeting. "Public" shower costs 4 Euros if you're a single. Bring slippers and long PJs! Like I said, it's what to expect for the price.

I stayed in single room with WC, price for it was appropriate to the conditions. It was clean and safe, but unfortunately i had very loud neighbours.

Good value for the price, but really only a place to spend a night to get over jetlag. A little too small for long term stay.

The hotel is ok, clean and quiet. The zone is not beautiful but does not seems dangerous. The main problem is reception. The asian couple hardly speak english or french and sympathy is not their surname. The blond recepcionist was very kind, and communication was not the problem. She also help us with major tourist point-outs, a really nice person. Other than that, the hotel is good, worth for the price.

Hotel Eden is a typical 2 star Paris hotel - you get what you pay for. While the hotel is only 2 star, its the location in the friendly french suburb of Jourdain which makes this place special. The Jourdain metro station (line 11) is just minutes away from the hotel so its easy to get into central Paris. I recommend this hotel over the budget hotels I've stayed in around Gare du Nord rail station for the location. You can get a nice meal for 5 euro from numerous establishments in the suburb. Done bother with breakfast at the hotel, you get a better deal and one of the numerous cafe's in the area. Enjoy your stay in real Paris...

The nicest desk staff in all of France!!! The location in the 20ème is a little off the beaten path, but safe no matter what time you enter and exit the facility. Stay here!

Not at all happy with finding pubic hair in bed upon arrival from previous patron. When requesting new sheets, was made to feel that request was unreasonable. Finally received new sheets but they were all damp. Was a huge mission to recify this upon arrival. Even when the sheets were changed the next morning, there were still hairs present. Not good.

Be warned, if you are staying at this hotel, it will be an experience that you wish you could forget. Maybe it was the prostitutes hanging around outside, or the the dirty alley the hotel is located in, but you will be scared a little bit. I slept with my clothes on and on top of the covers. If you are very brave and have no worries about your room being broken into, then yeah, the price is great. But for the rest of us, steer clear of "Eden."

Our initial thoughts when we entered the hotel lobby was that it was a Organ harvesting trap because of the dark curtains hanging in front of the stairs and us being tired from travelling. However, the hotel was very clean, and a pleasure to live in. We where in a triple room and the "third" bed was brought in after our arrival and was a fold-up stretcher type which broke after our third night and my sister was forced to sleep on the floor. My wife and I both found our double bed excruciatingly uncomfortable. Other than that the hotel was quiet, clean and well managed. If you’re looking for a decent budget hotel and you are travelling alone this wouldn’t be a bad option.

Not a bad hotel overall. Positives - as a runner I chose a hotel as near to Buttes Chaumont which was perfect in the morning as it was very easy to get to. Also very close to Metro station Pyrenees. Negatives - a bit noisy at night but not a problem if you are tired. Breakfast a bit frugal for my liking. Staff friendly enough once they warmed up - tended to be from Far East and their accent in French a bit difficult to grasp. Would I stay there again - maybe?

At first, I was surprised at the cost 4EURO by taking shared shower. this fact must be more informed to user of this site. Location is far from sightseeing spots, but no problem by using metro. In front of mirror there is no electric outlet. That is a little problem.

I expected to have a breakfast included, but we had to pay for it € 5,-- p.p.. It is not marked in the information on the internet. First we had chosen another hotel, but we read not breakfast and that is why we choose for this hotel. And no information about breakfast, so we thought it is within, but it was also without breakfast. In my opinion this hotel is too expensive without breakfast.

This is a Budget hotel of good standard. No 5 star luxury, but a room with clean bedclothes and a clean bathroom. Polite, friendly staff, who do their best to help in any way. This is what I ask for when i go abroad and just basicly need a bed for the night.I spend all my day on my outings-And WHAT outings!! Paris at your feet,Bellville is the very best place to start, not a "Starbucks" Or Mc Donalds" in sight .Lovely cafes, bars Good resurants,a really good neighbourhood, with everyday life all round you, lots of interesting shops. Multicultural and lively, just MY cup of tea.Buttes Chaumont park nearby, and do not forget to walk along Canal St Martin and throw a tone in the water like Amelie!!

Be aware a room without a shower means you must pay 4 Euro to have one in a bathroom in the lobby. Not so cool. The housekeepers knocked on my door and woke me up every morning. Several times no one was at the front desk for 5-10 mintues to let me in the door. After all this they charged me 46 Euros for three local calls, which I did not appreciate. I thought the people disorganized and grouchy. The neighbourhood, however, is one of the most authentic/non-tourist areas of Paris, with an amazing park up the road, and this basically made up for the rest.

I would return to this hotel because of price, cleanliness, comfort and location. This hotel is a good choice, if you are on a budget. There are many restaurants and food shops in the area, and it is 10-15 minutes by Metro to the center of Paris.

The bed was quite uncomfortable; I had to put the comforter under the mattress for the bed to be somewhat éven. The courtain was transparent so the light was very bright even at night. The room came with no shower so they charged me 4 euros extra to take a shower!!; I do not recommend this hotel.

Everything was as promised on website. Hotel staff were friendly and willing ot help. Only little negative thing was that we had a room for three persons and towels were only for two. Our son, who is twelve years old, had to use hand towels after shower. But as said it was a minor problem. We had a very nice stay in a cosy, old hotel with very nice hotel employees.

I expected the single room with a shower which was shown on the description. But there weren't even a common shower room... But the hotel was in a nice residential area with many local shops and supermarket. A receptionist was a very nice lady. The quality was equal to the reasonable price.

area was fine and hotel was adequate for the price. however our single friend had to sleep first night on top of her bed cos the sheets had lots of black bits in it. after telling owner she was shifted to a nicer fresher room but was offered no discount. apart from that the staff were very helpful and we will use them again

This place is a bit far off from the main attractions of Paris. So it does take a while with the metro to get from one place to another.

Good inexpensive place to stay. My room was small but comfortable, and I didn't do much more than sleep there. Neighborhood is very real and Parisian, short walk from the Pyrenees metro stop, and short ride into the heart of Paris. Didn't realize they charge for showers: 4€ per shower.
