We stay in Paris for business. The room was clean. the space is small but everybody should know that in Paris either you choose a 5stars hotel or you deal with the "small" space of the room. Quality and price are excellent. I would recommande this hotel to everybody who whis to stay in the Marais and not faraway from le Louvre Beaubourg, etc. The employees should respect the check-out time at 12:00 and not ask people to live the hotel 1 hour early.

The Hotel Ecole Centrale was an interesting small pensione in a fantastic location in the Marais district of Paris. It is well situated just of the rue d Rumeire and steps, maybe twenty steps, to the Metra. My room and bathroom, although small, were absolutely immaculate. I did not partake of the offered breakfast as the hotel was in walking distance of the finest boulangerie in Paris. You will weep at the first bite of the chaisson de pomme. The hotel is situated one mile from Notre Dame down Rue d Beaubourg which turned into Rue d Renard, such an easy walk. Of course Red d Renard also runs directly into the Seine. In the district there are many restaurants and shops and the Picasso Museum and the Museum of Paris History. The Hotel Ecole Centrale was perfect for me, a single tourist in town for a week. I used the free wifi everyday. It was so convenient to send pictures and thoughts to my family. The staff was kind and helpful and the housekeepers did an excellent job. All and all my stay was pretty near perfect.

I stayed in this hotel last weekend of August 2009 for one night. I was many times in paris before and I should say that this hotel for quality /price was the best deal I ever had in paris. Rooms were very clean- exactly like on a photos from holte website, not that small (for Paris standards), awesome location (marais area) and within walking distance to Pompidu centre and La halles..andn we could walk from there to all other central locations..many nice restaurants around..Metro stop just one step away from hotel. I would definetely stay in this hotel again..Wish you also to enjoy your stay in Paris...

We would recommend this hotel. The employees were very helpful. Two out of the three desk clerks spoke very good English. We selected a comfort room, which was the least inexpensive, and it was adequate for our needs. We did get a look at what we thought was the next level of expense, and it appeared to be larger, but space was not our main concern. Cleanlines was our main concern, and the room was immaculate as well as the bathroom. We liked the location very much as it was close to the Metro, and we were able to get around Paris not having to use taxis. We had breakfast in the hotel just one morning because of time restrains, and did enjoy it. It included cold cereal, toast, croissants, baquets, cheese, yogurt, dried fruit and fresh fruit. The atmostphere was quiet, which we liked very much. Considering that one morning our breakfast cost us 39 euros, I would say the breakfast was well worth the 12 euros each. It is the only place that gave us 2 cups of coffee, and didn't charge us 5.5 euros a cup. We would stay there again.

We found this hotel through Venere and the information we got from reviews of previous customers appeared to be just right. Overall good service, clean rooms, and great location. Only minuses are the smallness of the rooms and the pricey (approx. 10€) breakfast. We were not supposed to have breakfast included in the price of our room but the receptionist still offered to make it free of charge because they happened to have a promotion at that time. Good service we thought! Hint: there are great brasseries and cafés around that offer cheap alternatives for the breakfast. No restaurant at the hotel but there is a trendy brasserie just next door!

It is a very nice hotel, the rooms are small but cosy, the furnitures nice in a modern style and the location is excellent. I find the prices in Paris high compared to similiar quality in Rome in this time of the year. But we will certainly choose the same hotel next time we go to Paris.

Fantastic location for walking to the Pompidou Centre and all central locations. It felt very safe even coming back late and the tube stop is a minute away from the hotel. Nice cafes in the area such as cafe de bourse. The museum of Arts and Metiers across the road was fantastic for science and inventions plus we really enjoyed the special exhibition about the poles and learnt how the northern lights are made. Hotel room was fine, very clean and comfortable but the single beds are narrow, also noise travels between bathrooms so you hear the plumbing! Never the less it was generally very quiet except for the rumble of traffic on the main road, not far away.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel, we found it to be very pretty, a stone's throw away from Notre Dam. Excellent location for lots of restraunts and bars. The hotel is exactly as described and met all our expectations, the staff were friendly and unobtrusive, we stayed in bed late one morning and were delighted that we had no cleaners knocking on the door, but that the room was cleaned when we eventually went out. I would recommed this hotel to any age group, but would not recommend it for families, as it was quite small but very cosy.

The quality and the location of our room (front,2 almost 24 hours crowded major streets with a lot of motor vehicles) and the price (140,00 €) did not correspond. The breakfast for 12,00 € was poor. The next door café breakfast was much better and cheaper (8 €). The maids did not manage to tidy our room before 3.30 p.m. However, the location of this hotel is excellent and just vis á vis a METRO station (lines 3 and 119:

The hotel is really in a great position, only 5 minutes walk from Centre Pompidou, a part of Paris full of young people and nice cafès. The hotel is very clean and very welcoming. The room was not huge but comfortable. The bathroom was a bit old (and all in plastic..)but very clean.Though it was freezing in Paris the room was always very warm. Most of all for the very nice position, I would definitely choose this hotel again (the metro stop Arts et Metiers is 30 seconds walking from the hotel!)

The hotel is perfectly located with the metrò station just two steps away from the entrance. Rooms are very clean and I really have nothing bad to say about the service. A few minor issues include thin walls and the shower that will leave the floor of your bathroom completely wet. But those weren't too annoying and the quality vs price rate is still very very good. Next time in Paris I will most likely go back to Ecole Centrale.

Good location and hotel has nice, slightly whacky Paris 'feel'. Good proximity to friendly local bars and easy walking distance down to the Seine (Paris Plage a must in August!). Convenient underground parking nearby - a bit pricey, but this is central Paris and London would be four times as much. New (excellent) Paris pick-up/drop-off bike hire rack just across the road.

Small reliable elevator a few steps up from the small lobby. The air-conditioning in the room worked well although you couldn't change the temperature - it was preset at 22 celcius. The room was small but OK for one person or a couple. I can't imagine more than two people No rooms have adjoining walls but if my bathroom door was open I could hear the people in the next room. The bathroom was sufficient (small tub) however when taking a shower it was difficult to keep the water in the shower as the shower door only covered half the shower. Also, the seal between the bottom of the door and the tub was torn. Alot of water would drip down below the door and run onto the bathroom floor. I had to use my towels to wipe up the floor after every shower. I asked for extra towels evey day, but despite being told they would come, they never delivered any. On my third night they took my bed spread and never replaced it. When I came back at night and inquired where it was I was told it was being cleaned. When I asked for another one, I was told there wasn't one but I could get one the next day! That was very frustrating and senseless. The staff is friendly and somewhat knowledgeable about "touristy" questions. The overnight receptionist (a gentleman) was not very helpful and didn't seem interested in trying. He also didn't speak any English. The location is great (Upper Marais). The Arts & Metiers metro (line 11 or 3) stop is practically right outside the front door. The hotel is south of rue Turbigo & Reamur and just east of the intersection of Reamur & Turbigo. If you are looking at The Arts & Metier Cafe entrance, turn around, cross rue Beauburg and the hotel will be opposite Cafe Leonard (on your right) south of Reamur & Turbigo. This hotel is clean and safe and was sufficient for my personal needs. They also had a laptop they let me use to check my e-mail which was a big bonus. I had breakfast on the last morning. 10 Euros was pricey but it is a con

This was a great 3-star hotel very centrally located in Paris--just steps away from the Arts et Metiers metro stop. The rate was very affordable since I travelled in August (I understand the typical price is double what I paid). There is a beautiful little lobby with a person at the reception desk 24/7, and they know English. They also have a loaner laptop you can use to surf the web. The room was very nice and clean, with a large bathroom which even had a bathtub. You can control the AC in the room and there was also a TV. In addition there's a mini-fridge with beverages you can buy, or you can store more in there. Each room also has a safe for your valuables. I loved this place and highly recommend it!

The Hotel was very clean and in excellent condition. The staff were very friendly and were only too happy to speak in English when my limited French was struggling. The directions from CDG airport were excellent right down to the street to exit the Metro. I found the Price for a central location in Paris to be excellent value. On arrival at CDG I purchased a 5 Day Metro and Train Ticket which gave unlimited travel on the transport in Paris as well as to and from the airport. We did though walk to most of the places of interest but come the end of the day when tiredness was taking over we made use of the Metro and I found it to be safe and clean. The area around the hotel has a couple of Tabacs which can be used for a late night drink or breakfast and these were friendly and welcoming. A nice touch from the Hotel was being allowed to leave our suitcases in the hotel after we had checked out as our flight home was not until 7.00 p.m. This saved having to walk around with luggage. Overal I would recommend this Hotel and location (safe and quiet at night) and hopefully when I get a chance to go back t Paris I would stay there again.

Hotel was recently refurbished, can recommend with confidence: beds v comfortable; rooms quiet (at back); aircon effective; safe appreciated; bathroom excellent. Room compact but comfortably furnished. Small lift useful when carrying luggage. Staff v helpful - especially Kamal & Stefan. Easy to walk to many key areas of Paris (eg 25 mins Notre Dame; 10 mins Pompidou Centre; Opera 20 mins) Immediate surrounding area busy/active during the day but v quiet at night. Recommend Au Bascou restaurant opposite(closed weekend evenings)but you must reserve a table in advance! V good metro links: Metro stop 'Arts & Metiers' is opposite but TAKE RUE REAUMUR EXIT especially if you first arrive at night. Tip: from Charles de Gaulle airport take RER B to Chatelet (ticket also covers metro!) then transfer (after a bit of a hike on moving walkway to Line 11 (Arts & Metiers)

If you want an hotel close to Marais, this one is great and definitely cheaper than many other in the same area. We found the Ecole Centrale to be an ideal hotel for our recent 4 night stay in Paris. The hotel was clean, the staff extremely helpful and our room was quiet and very comfortable albeit "Paris-sized". The metro is just outside the front door and great restaurants are within easy walking distance. In our previous trips to Paris we had never spent any time in the Marais district which we found to be trendy and just plain fun to walk around. Would definitely stay at the Ecole Centrale on future trips to Paris and highly recommend it to others. Kudos to Venere.com as their info that we used to make our hotel selection was right on target. On-line reservation system worked as advertised. Will definitely use Venere.com for future travel arrangements.

Great hotel and value for money! Short distance from nice streets, parcs etc. We stayed in mid-July for 90 euro's for room. The hotel lived up to its billing - it was in a great location and had a nice funky atmosphere. I had asked for a room facing the street with a bathtub and got what I wanted. The woman at the desk was very helpful and friendly, but this might have been helped by the fact that I speak French. The room was a bit small but this is not unusual for hotels in centra Paris. Fantastic service and great location for exploring Paris from... there are so many good cafes in the area that we avoided the breakfast and probably got better value. We had a room at the front of the hotel with a fabulous and stereotypical Paris outlook and loved it here. We stayed at Ecole Centrale again we came back through Paris and had a comfortable room, but lower down and at the back of the hotel which looks onto the back of the building behind it... so if possible ask for a room at the front of the hotel. The wireless internet connection is free and was a real bonus for us. Overall a highly recommended hotel in a great location.

The hotel was excellent with helpful and friendly staff (also fluent in English). We spent a weekend at Ecole Centrale. The room (602)was spacious for a Paris hotel and the bathroom was great with a jacuzzi big enough for two. The room had sky light double gazed window with a shade that when closed provided a perfectly quite nights sleep. And during the day the skylights allowed beautiful light into the room. The area (Le Marais) is excellent, in walking distance to Hotel de Ville, and the Left Bank. The Hotel is also near the Metro. I have to mention the breakfast - Wonderful with freshly baked mini crossants and pain au chocolates, dried fruits, yogarts, fresh squeeze oj and ofcourse strong freshly brewed coffee. The hotel was excellent value for money. It was very clean and the room was more spacious and updated than other Paris rooms I have been in. The bathroom could do with a little updating (cracked tiles and random holes in walls) but it was clean and bright and the shower worked very well and there was plenty of hot water. It was exactly what we were looking for - a bargain hotel in the Marais district so within walking distance at night to great restaurants and nightlife.

The Ecole Central is a small, friendly hotel with a welcoming reception area and clean rooms. The room was slightly small, (but with the whole of Paris to explore we didn't spend much time in our room!!). We found the staff very helpful, but as not many of the staff speak English, our basic French came in quite useful. The Arts et Métiers metro stop is across the road, and the hotel's central location - about 5 minutes walk to Pompidou Centre, less than 15 mins to the Seine and 20-25 mins to the Louvre - make it a good base if you decide to walk. There are some decent bistros/restaurants in the Republique area (5 mins walk or a couple of metro stops) but if you take the metro to the St Germain des Prés area on the Left Bank you'll be spoiled for choice. We'd recommend the Roissybus from Charles de Gaulle airport to Opera, it rund frequently and drops off just a few metro stops from the hotel. We had an excellent 5 days in Paris, and found the hotel to be a good standard and price by local standards.

We stayed there for 2 nights. Very good hotel. Easy to locate, polite welcome, nicely decorated hotel with colorful walls and furniture, clean and spacy room. The bathroom window couldn't be locked, so we had some cold wind in the bathroom, but we didn't consider it a big deal since we were only there for a short period of time. Overall, we were very satisfied and would stay there again if the price/quality remains the same. PS: venere.com didn't mention that this hotel is gay-friendly and member of the LGBT association (Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender).

Adequate small hotel. Clean and quiet, good value. Very good location, easy access to everything and metro stop across the road. Staff a bit amateurish, but friendly and helpful. Room very small made worse by the hotel leaving a 3rd, foldaway, bed in the room even if we had no need for it. Perfectly adequate for a 2-3 day stay.

Small, cosy hotel with clean rooms and a good service. Ideally located for pedestrian tourists (métro stop Arts et Métiers right across the street) and close enough to Centre Pompidou and Les Halles. Regular price is rather high for the quality.

The room was EXTREMELY noisy; we could hear people coughing, using the bathroom, and talking. The walls were very thin and we could smell cigarette smoke coming from the next room.

The hotel inside looked very much as it did in your photographs and was very nicely decorated. We were given one of the attic rooms which was quite claustrophic, very noisy from traffic on the adjoining main roads and smelt of cooking from an adjacent kitchen extractor. We left after only one night of a planned three night stay because of the attitude and rudeness of the manager after we had commented on the poor quality of the breakfast. The decor is fine, but otherwise not a hotel to be recommended.

We stayed in one of the junior suites with the whirlpool bath (I think there are two rooms like this; not sure). It was on the top floor, so it was nice and quiet. The room was a good size, and the furniture was placed in a way so that it wasn't much of a problem that some of the ceiling was sloped and lower (I guess it used to be the attic). There was even a little corner to "hang out" -- two chairs next to a little table. The only windows were in the sloping parts of the ceiling, though, so if you wanted a view, you need to stand on the bed. :) This didn't bug me much, and was a good tradeoff for having more space. The place was clean and well maintained. I would have preferred if the bathroom wasn't carpeted, though. The whirlpool bath was quite reasonable, although perhaps a little loud. The bathroom window (on the ceiling) didn't have a shade, so you need to remember to close the door before going to bed, unless you want the sun to wake you up at 6 am. The a/c worked ok and the bed was comfortable (firm and uniform). The linens were also better than one often gets, and the staff did a nice job of making up the beds. The design of the room was fun and a little quirky. The staff was friendly and professional. Mostly we just got the key from them. Their english was fine; mostly my partner spoke in french. It's in a nice part of town; a stone throw from the Arts et Metiers metro stop. We wanted to be close to the Marais (5-10 minute walk to the center of it), but also near places to buy food. We never spent any time in the lobby, and didn't have breakfast there. So I can't comment on that. The weather was lovely, so having a cafe creme and a croissant while sitting outside was a much better option. I'd have been happier if they had free WiFi in their lobby (something that's getting more common), or some form of connection in the room, as I had some work to do, and needed to coordinate with some friends. But the nearby cafe gives you

There was a discrepancy in the price shown in the general advertisement of the hotel in the web (105€) and the actual rate, shown when booking, (125€).

The night porter did not speak a word of English -- and it took quite a charade to get him to understand that I required a key for the room safe (which comes with a hidden charge of 2€/day BTW). The day staff was much friendlier and accommodating. The rooms are very nice and feature exposed wooden beams (although they look like they were added for effect and were not part of the original architecture). The surrounding area doubles as a hardware supply source, so there are often noisy van drivers honking at each other and telling each other how to drive/park, etc. Still, you cannot fault that the location is so very close to Metiers et Arts Metro station and two main streets into central Paris. Also, they have a wall-mounted shower gel/shampoo/conditioner dispenser which is obscured by the shower curtain when it is drawn.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is well placed for access, however, makesure that you know where the hotel is situated on the map, as it is difficult for taxi drivers to find. Good access to metro system - only over the road.
