Nice and confortable hotel very close to the Eiffel Tower. Rooms are small as every hotel in Paris. The web page states that some rooms in the 5th and 6th floors have Tour Eiffel views, it's right, but you have to lean out of the window.

Hotel rooms are good size for European standards. The property is a bit old, but has charm. The owner is fantastic and super helpful. You truly can't beat the location...

A little pricey for what you get but then it is downtown Paris. Ant that is the great thing about this place. It is an excellent location and compared to other hotels in the area the price is good.

excellent hotel in a great location. On previous stays we had a view of the Eifel Tour. This time we did not and we missed it.

I found the hotel several years ago, and found it rather cozy. This time I decided to spend couple of days with the family in the hotel. It was rather worn-out after all these years But the most interesting happened later. On the last day of our stay in the hotel we prepare the luggage in the morning so not to be in a rush at check out and go out for a walk. All new things were in the open package to show it on the customs. We check out, went to the airport, and on the security check they say we have a bottle of water in the package... The pack was filled with old shop packets from our room, the bottle of water to imitate the weight, only jacket on top of the package so we would notice the missing things earlier All new clothes were stolen by hotel personnel All the trip was totally spoiled

Didn't enjoy my stay and cut my visit 2 nights short. Saw beautiful pics of the hotel here & read some rooms have views of the Eiffel Tower. My 1st floor room looked nothing like the pics and was so tiny (WC didn't have a real door) & had interior view of other peoples' windows and scaffolding. Because I was on the 1st fl and the buildings were tall, I couldn't even see the sky without sticking my head outside -- not enough natural light. Was hoping for a view of city. I asked for new room and they said all single rooms faced interior. The hotel had no air conditioning & it was very hot outside. I kept the windows open, but an interior room meant little breeze, and everyone else kept windows open at night, so it was extremely noisy even past midnight and hard to sleep. Halls sometimes noisy too. Staff spoke English but were not very friendly. Had no knowledge about museum passes & were unhelpful when I had trouble with my key. They had a bar menu but said they had no ice. They have a rule that you can't bring food or drinks into your room though I did anyway (I am not a child - I didn't make a mess). I brought my Venere confirmation email to check-out and hotel owner saw it. Said he had to charge me several more euros per night for using Venere! Wouldn't back down. Don't tell them where you booked. Loved the area -- across street from subway station, next door to grocery and surrounded be great cafes and bakeries. Those were the only perks.

Our stay at Eber Mars was most pleasant. The hotel staff was very helpful. The hotel is situated in a very upscale neighbourhood close to the Eiffel Tower. We felt very safe staying there. Restaurants, supermarket and internetcafé in close proximety. The elevator is a one man elevator, and I do not not think people over 100kg would fit. The room was clean and the bathroom was just above regular French standard. We will defenitaly consider Eber Mars next time we visit Paris!

Very clean and safe. We felt very welcome by Jean Marc. We weren't made aware of the rules that prohibit eating or drinking in our room. We really wanted to share a glass of champangne in front of our window with a veiw of the Eiffel Tower ( as seen in the pictures). That was our only disappointment. Thanks

Our stay at Eber Mars woould best be described in three words, GOOD, BAD, AND UGLY. Location was good, close to the tower and Invalides. the room (42) was dirty and out dated (BAD). The UGLY was after a long day of walking around and just wanted to relax in the room and have a drink and snack, it wasnt permitted to keep the rooms from getting to dirty. NOW GIVE ME A BREAK! im not an 8 year old staying alone.

I had an excellent stay at the Eber Mars. Although my room (#41) was one of the 128 euro rooms, it did not ave a full bath, but being a courtyard room, it was at the higher price. Still for the room I received, I thought this a very reasonable price. The room itself was larger than i expected, and the bathroom lookded to be recently renovated. Everything was very clean, and it was obvious they took pride in the hotel. The owner and his staff were EXTREMELY helpful and friendly, and the location couldn't have been better. I really loved my stay here, and will certainly check the Eber Mars on future visits to Paris. On a side note, the elevator was quite small, but I was still able to get my oversized suitcase in with no problem...

I have been in a single room. The room was very very small and seemed to be not very clean. Actually this was due to the old carpet inside the room. The personal was very friendly. The location of the hotel is ideal - close to the metro and to the Eiffel Tower.

Its quite a nice hotel. The floorboards and bed (!) were very very creaky. Dont have the breakfast which is more expensive than you will pay in a local cafe. The location is very good.

This is great little hotel in a very nice and central part of Paris, there are a lot of little bistros, restaurants, etc in the neighborhood. You can see the Eiffel tower from essentially every window, and it's only a 5 minute walk away. The next metro stop is about 2 min by foot. The staff is very nice and helpful. I would (and will) come back to this hotel every time that I visit Paris. (One final remark about the elevator: yes, it is small and only designed for *luggage*. Only obese people would complain about its small size, everyone else would just take the stairs)

The location of Eber Mars is excellent. The staff speaks English and was also very helpful. The room is not air conditioned, so in the summer heat, the windows need to be opened in the evenings. The hotel is on a busy street, so the noise level can be an issue going to sleep. The biggest issue my wife and I had was the size of the shower. This was our last stay in a 30 day trip, so small showers were nothing new. But this shower was so small that a third of the stall to prevent water dripping onto the floor was removed so people could turn around. The result was the water has leaked over the years onto the rug and the room reeks. The furnishings as described by Rick Steves are worn. That is a kind appraisal. I would not stay here again.

Hotel Eber Mars has a very friendly staff that helped us with general information about Paris attractions and transportation. Compared to the three other hotels we stayed at during our European trip, this was our second favorite. Decent sized rooms for a European hotel. There is no AC, but a room fan was already running when we got to the room. GREAT location for the Eifel Tower too. There is a nice park nearby that you can sit and picnic, people watch, play futbol etc.

The people at the front desk were excellent. the only problem was it was July and the room was hot and when you opened the window it was too loud to sleep (it was during the World cup). However I would go back (except July or August) because it is a good location adn close to the metro station & the people were very nice.

We stayed two different type of rooms at hotel. Upper floor is more quiet row floor. From airport is not so convenient this hotel but it is convenient to go city area. We can use subway and bus. If you will go to other place from Paris that is convenient too go main station. Staff is good and they gave us accurate opinion.

Excellent choice for a hotel in walking distance from the Tour Eiffel. Very familiar atmosphere, breakfast (10,- EUR p.p.) is worth extra money. Next metro station "Ecole militaire" 1 minute from hotel. Hotel deserves more than **! We enjoyed our stay very much.

Hotel Staff was very friendly and helpful with maps and directions to local bars and resturants. I requested room with a view and it was very nice to see the tower at night! The room was very spacious compared to some other hotels i've stayed in in Paris. the room was clean, but the sheets and bedding looks old and well used. the bathroom was less then steller, and smelled moldy if you left the door closed after a shower. It was a private shower (very small) at least so that is a plus. its what i expected for the price in this location. the neighboorhood is quiet and cute (off season, don't know about in the summer) with a tasty cafe around the corner.

Pros: close proximity to the Eiffel Tower allowed for a beautiful view of the tree-lined street and tower from our balcony window (not all rooms face this), room was decent size for the money in Paris, nice bathroom, 1 minute walk from the metro (subway) entrance Cons: the lift only holds one person and there are at least 5 floors in the hotel _________________________________ I stayed here from Aug 8-11 and enjoyed my stay. Henri was especially kind and helpful, even though it seemed as though I was asking him questions everytime I came down from my room or returned to the hotel. I specifically requested a room with a view of the tower in my venere booking, and they accomodated me. Several mini-supermarkets are within 2 minutes walking distance also. The internet cafes in this area were very pricey, if that matters. I'd definitely stay here again.
