I regret less assistance of staff to carry many and heavy luggages. No man available and thanks to the ladies that I was worry to be invloved I helped. Staff at the reception very kind, especially evening. No iron and iron board in room but laundy and dressing available and well done , except expensive. room decoration correct but less as presented on pictures. Good information on local restaurant and no touristic around hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Duminy Vendome. It was located close many attractions and the Metro stop was a couple of blocks away. If the walls were just a bit thicker we would not have been woken up by our neighbors fighting, but it was only one night and everything else was great. We would highly recommend this hotel.

We had 2 very comfortable nights at Hotel Duminy Vendome. It's central location was excellent - we were able to walk everywhere, and the room very clean, quiet and comfortable. Very good breakfasts and excellent service throughout. Thank you.

Service was excellent. Only problem was that hotel charged us twice saying that apparently first charge was only a guarantee. However because my card is from abroad I am still waiting the money to get back to my account what is not good...

This is the 2nd time we have stayed in this hotel. The location is excellent for all the major attractions of Paris which are within easy walking distance or close to the hop on hop off bus stops. The breakfast is very good but a little expensive. However would still use it as the quality & quantity is very good. Will definitely stay here again if ever back in Paris.

The staff were great especially Julian and Adrian who went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming. Our room 104 was fine but did not have much space for clothes. There were no dressers or drawers so we just used our suitcases on the floor. Only 4 days so OK

We had an excellent stay at the hotel. Nice and quiet room, good beds for all three of us and just excellent location for three days in Paris. The staff is very helpfull and outstanding professional in their attitude. We got a problem and they solved it with maximum service and in a way we did not think possible. This is a hotel that really cares about their guests! The breakfast and the breakfast room is recomended, fresh and nice!

Everything was absolutely great, excluding the fact when I was leaving at 4.45a.m. there was nobody on the front desk and the outgoing door was locked so it took me 20 minutes to find the receptionist and wake him up. So I was going to be late for my plane.. But thanks God I came in time

Like most hotels in Paris the value of the size of the rooms for the price is non-existent, most times the rooms have some charm & are well decorated in that French kinda of way. NOT this hotel or at least the room I stayed in (312). I've staid in airport Sheratons that had more charm. There wasn't even a pad & pencil, not to mention if you wanted to buy time on the Internet you had to go to the reception desk to get the codes, they wouldn't give it to you over the phone; not convenient at 7AM when your not even showered.

The Hotel Duminy Vendome is a nice hotel in a GREAT location, just a few blocks from The Louvre, and the Tuileries metro station on the #1 line. We arrived at Gare du Nord on the Eurostar from London, and it's just a quick ride to the hotel on the RER B to the #1 via Chatelet. Our stay was very good overall, and our room was clean and comfortable, albeit small. The location is located just behind the Rue Rivoli and doesn't have any of the traffic noise, save for some late night scooters. If you love Paris like we do, and want a hotel that's super-convenient for getting to just about anywhere in the city, you will like the Hotel Duminy Vendome.

For our short stay in Paris we were searching for an affordable Hotel near the Paris Opera, shops, Seine, Louvre, Place du Vendome and Metro; this is the place! If for some reason you don't want to take the Metro: for approximately 17,00 Euro the taxi take you to the Gare du Nord. The standard room two persons is not very spacious, but sufficient and clean. In th ebasement of the building a nice breakfast room has been made with enough breakfast basics. Only downside was our elevator; it takes a while before it appears, but you could always take the other one or the stairs. Perhaps it is an option for the Hotel management to have a service elevator for the personel. So, come and visit Paris and if you want to be in the Centre ... look no further!

Great location and warm, friendly reception staff, especially Irina who was extremely helpful on a number of occasions. We also appreciated the service and surroundings in the breakfast room. Negatives were the dim lighting in our room and the lack of vanity or shelf space in the bathroom (though it had lots of floor space..?).We also found the Internet charges rather steep (5 euro per 15 min). These issues aside, we enjoyed our stay very much and, provided price and quality was maintained, would certainly book again.

We have stayed there on several occasions and have been more than satisfied. The breakfast staff could be a little faster - they are a bit dreamy and don't always respond quickly to requests. The room service is a bit erratic - sometimes they come at 10.00am and other timer at 5.00pm in the afternoon but always very friendly and welcoming. e just loved privilege Room 007 this time - very quiet. Reception staff very efficient and helpful.

I would thoroughly recommend the Duminy Vendome. |It is in an excellent location, very handy for visiting many of Paris' great land marks either on foot or by metro. Our rooms were immaculate with spacious bathroom and tea/ coffee making facilities. Staff were very courteous and helpful at all times. Choice of foods for breakfast was very good. A great stay in a fabulous city.

The hotel is at a fantastic location so close to louvr. very clean and everthing is in good condition. The bathroom is reasonable sized. I would stay again. The only thing I would like to complain is that the taxi hotel booked to chatlet catching airport train. The taxi driver left us in the wrong entrance ( I think it is for bad purpose) so we had to take the luggage down instead of catching a lift. The staff shall recommend us take shuttle bus for EUR17 or catch taxi from street to opera for airport bus.

The room I was asigned had an awful ordor of stale cigarettes. I asked to change rooms which I was told was not possible. The house cleaning staff slammed doors and equipment never considering the guests still occupying the rooms. The power went off in my room 4 times in less than 24 hours. I continually called the front desk to have them turn the power on. Only after 4 complaints did I have my room changed. After the new room assignment the only issue was again the house cleaning staff making a tremendous amount of noise. You can hear through the walls, all activities.

It was nice and located well near the garden and lourve at walking distance. a bit pricey and rooms are booked out quickly, i tried booking it again on my second trip to paris with my sister but it was just a bit more expensive than other hotels nearby so we didn't stay here.. you need to book way in advance to get a reasonable deal with these crowds.. : /

My family of 5, yes, 5 people, stayed here for 3 days on a leg of our trip through Europe. To be to the point, after having been in London, and then moving on to Rome, we all wished we had our Duminy Vendome hotel rooms in both of those cities. The Duminy was a last minute find that I did without my travel agent. At first I was aghast at the prices/size of European rooms, but realized this is just how it is in other countries. We are American and used to L A R G E hotel rooms. Not a problem at the Duminy Vendome. We were pleasantly surprised that with such short notice, they still placed us in 2 rooms next to each other. Better yet, they had a doorway in our hallway, that actually separated us from the rest of the rooms in the hallway, so with our children, we were able to prop our room doors open, and close/lock the outer hall door. We had a triple room and a double. The triple was spacious with a "divided queen" and a twin. Plenty of walking space, closet space, and a fabulous bath/shower with robes, and any toiletrie you would need. Everything, linens, carpet, etc, looked brand new. They used so much white/beige with decorating, that they obviously take pride in how clean/fresh/new the rooms are. Rest assured, the photos on the website are exactly what you get. I believe the photo with the triple room featured was one of our actual rooms. On a trivial note, the windows were fabulous; they were OLD 9' foot high windows with great vintage hardware that opened up over a small courtyard. And though the view was simply that, we slept with it open every night, without fear of intrusion (because of the way they are situated, it is safe to leave them completely open). It was just a nice touch to be able to open your hotel room window. I hope to return to Paris in the next few years (with my husband) and most definitely will stay here again. We were approx 2 block walk to the Louvre, 2 blocks to the Metro (which was quite easy to navigate) and walk

We stayed in room 104.The noisiest room in the whole world. We could hear people on the street, guests coming from the elevator and guests having showers and using the loo.The plumbing was soo noisy.Went down for our prepaid breakfast at 0930,(It ends at 1000am.)and were told that all the hot food was gone and no more left.Coffee was a grey colour and staff incompetent. In formed staff at reception who just frowned at our complaints!Asked for a room change an we were told none better available.Disgraceful.Location was great but will never stay in this hotel again.Didn't get one wink of sleep in our 3 night stay.

Myself and my son ( 15 ) spent three days visiting Paris and enjoyed our short break imensely. The Hotel was in an excellent location for visiting the various tourist attractions and we did not make great use of all the hotels facilities as we were out and about most of the time. All the staff we had contact with were polite and helpful......and multilingual. Only downside was a bit of noise from the street outside late at night and early morning, and the stair door was banged repeatedly our first night. We would recommend the hotel and would be happy to stay there again if we were to return to Paris.

Rooms are very small and without a lot of storage space, but the staff are friendly and the location superb. The breakfast area is very nice, even if the service is somewhat erratic - there seemed to be a permanent shortage of large plates. Depending on where your room is located, you'll need to use the side elevator not to have to carry your bags through a short flight of steps -something the front desk staff didn't warn us about. All in all (given prices for four-star hotels) not a bad buy.

During our stay, a fire (not at the hotel) caused a 2 day power outage in the entire district, including the Louvre. The staff went above and beyond to help relocate us to another hotel for one night, arranging transportation both ways, and bringing in extra help. They helped to carry luggage down the stairs from our 6th floor room. All of this with no electricity and working all day and into the night by flashlights. As others have mentioned, the rooms are small, typical for Paris inner city. However, that is why we booked the larger "superior" room, which is still reasonably priced for this prime location in Paris.

Just spent a night there. I chose this hotel because it was close to shoppping area of rue de rivoli and st honoré as well as the very centre with le louvre, musée d'orsay, notre dame, quartier marais, and quartier latin within walking distance. Underground station and bus stops also nearby. Considering the location, it was not awfully expensive (I recommend taking a privilege room as they are more spacious, and the breakfast restaurant cellar downstairs tastefully decorated despite the striking choice of whites and blacks. By the way, the buffet breakfast was excellent and the waitresses specially attentive. The room We were given was spacious with a huge double bed, fridge and tea facilities, good tv set, air-conditioning, hair-drier in bathroom, which was equally spacious. The only thing is that some items in the room (carpet, sanitaries...) had seen too many guests and showed the evidence of the ageing process: investments needed!!!

Stayed in double room, previous comments have noted that the rooms were small but we found ours to be very spacious. The air conditioning was priceless. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the nearest metro stop and about 10 minutes walk from the Louvre. There wasn't a lot of noise at night as the hotel is down a side street and the pubs/clubs are a little further away but still within walking distance. Overall we would definitely stay at the Duminy Vendome again, 10 out of 10 for location.

We were travelling as a group of 3 (a young couple plus one parent) and needed 2 rooms in Paris at very short notice. Duminy Vendome was able to provide us with a double and a single room, close to each other and on the same floor. The rooms were exactly what we needed for a weekend in Paris: clean, room enough for us, close to the sights, cafes and restaurants. Staff were courteous and helpful; when a bulb blew in our bedside lamp it was replaced immediately. With facilities like room service, cable television and a delightful bar area downstairs, this hotel is excellent value for money.

Very good location, 100m from Place Vendome.Easy walking distance of the main tourist attractions. Affluent area with lots of upmarket shops.Friendly and welcoming front desk. Room size reasonable for Paris, given location and price. Central heating, a/c and opening windows so ventilation is unlikely to be a problem, even in high summer. Room size and fittings did not quite match the site photos but fine by Paris standards. The one jarring note in the room was the sweaty plastic undersheet, which was more appropriate to hostel accommodation and the first we have encountered in seven visits to Paris. In summer, allow time for removal before going to bed! Room sound insulation pretty typical. Passed on breakfast. You can do better for €17 in any of the local cafes and enjoy a better ambience. Glad that we stayed in this part of Paris this time and very happy with the hotel choice.

The main complaint I have is the bed. It was lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom was large, but old; and the faucets were difficult to turn. The staff was pleasant, spoke english, but nothing special. The location of the hotel was fabulous. It made up for all the negatives.

This was a perfect location. The hotel was quite adequate for a short stay, but if you like styling your hair bring your own dryer! The one in the bathroom was useless. Breakfast is too expensive at €17each, we had coffee and croissants for €10 in a nearby cafe. Staff were very nice although we didn't need them that much. The outstanding virtue of this hotel is its location. A little tricky to find at first, but brilliant once you've got your bearings.

The hotel was great. The location is very close to a metro station and some restaurants including a great chinese restaurant across the street. The neighborhood is nice and clean with another nice but pricier hotel across the street as well. The Louvre is just a couple blocks walk. We walked from the hotel to Louvre, Notre Dame, Musee de Orsay, Eiffel Tower, etc. Eiffel tower is quite a walk but doable! Metro is also convenient. We travelled with three older children (20, 17 and 14) and booked a double and a triple. It was great for all of us. The breakfasts were also very nice. It was located downstairs in a very cheerful breakfast room. The staff were extremely helpful. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone!

The location is excellent, but the rooms are pretty small. I would recommend it only for short stays.

Very enjoyable stay. There was a transit strike when we were there so being so close to all of the attractions meant we could walk to a lot of them. We had a superior room which was a nice size for 2 of us. My mother in law had a standard room and it was adequate for her but would have been too cramped for 2 of us. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel is perfect location wise and the price i paid for the room i had was excellent, fantastic big room and a bathroom with double sinks, so you know the bathroom has to be big to house double sinks! very very close to a tram stop and also the Louvre and well, pretty much everything else.

We had two different rooms (second floor), because we extended our stay. One of this rooms was perfect, the other had a mouldy bathroom. The location is perfect, walking distance to some of the most important places worth seeing.

My wife, daughter and i spent three days at the duminy vendome and although a little cramped for three people, the room, amenities and service were excellent. i especially enjoyed the breakfast. well prepared, delicious choices, fresh juices and priced fairly given what you can get out on the street. we would certianly stay again. even on the last day with a strike of metro services, the front desk arranged taxi service, i'm sure at no small inconvenience.

Loved the hotel. Room was plenty big enough and very comfortable for my two children and me. I will go back again. Friendly supportive staff. Great location. Next time hopefully the shower will work without my needing an engineeering degree.

Nice hotel in wonderful location. Surely it's not cheap, but in Paris i think it's difficult to find better price/quality. We'll stay again

I have never written a review of a hotel before but this time I felt I must as it played an important part in my recent stay in Paris. The most important thing I must note about the hotel is its excellent location. With the help of the map (which is provided free at the reception), it did not take long to figure where we were in the scheme of things. The hotel is so central that a list of major sites ranging from the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre (which is situated a couple of blocks from the hotel), Champs Elysees, Musee D’orsay, Galleries Lafayette, Printemps were accessible by foot. The hotel was also within walking distance to a host of different restaurants, patisseries and shops. The staff were friendly and the gentleman at the front desk was welcoming. Before retiring to our room, he took a map and started circling points of interest for us which made things a whole lot easier as we could plan what we wanted to do quickly. I believe our room was the standard deluxe room and although it was not the largest room around, it was still comfortable and clean. The LCD television mounted on the wall added a nice touch to the room. The bathroom was not large as well but it had ample space to do what needed to be done and it was clean. The cleaning staff were very friendly and they did a great job in tidying the room while we were out. Check out was done with ease and the hotel helped us arrange a taxi the day before which came promptly. All in all, a very comfortable stay and will not hesitate to stay there again in the near future.

There was a slight problem with the room booked and when the staff were advised they proved most helpful and efficient and upgraded our room. They did not apopear to mind my attempts at speaking French. To be recommended.

I would have given the overall stay a higher score, but it was so loud I could hardly sleep. We paid the extra money to stay in the privelge room, unfortunately, we were placed on the first floor right next to the staircase on the street side of the hotel. I would think that the privelge rooms would be on a higher floor facing the court yard. The hotel was next to an Irish pub which you could hear until late at night and being on the street side, we heard trash pick up every morning at 6AM. As far as a quiet hotel , this is not it. We stayed near the airport for a couple of nights and that was quieter! However, the service was great and the rooms were clean.

The hotel is in a lovely building in an outstanding location - 2 minutes walk to the Tuileries metro station and 5 minute walk to the Louvre. Our room was charming and well decorated, but very small. I wouldn't recommend either the internet access or the breakfast as both were ridiculously expensive, but other than that it was a very pleasant stay.

My daughter and I stayed for two nights towards end August 2007. Location was excellent; a couple of blocks from Tuileries and Place Vendome. Room was simply decorated with taste, and both room and bathroom were clean and quite comfortable. The room had two windows facing the street on a first floor, but was rather quiet. Elevator and air conditioner a plus. Price was adequate, maybe not so against the US dollar. Receptionist was amiable and professional. I spoke French, but might not have made the difference cause he was very helpful to others as well. Hotel muy recomendable, sencillo, de buen gusto, limpio, y con una gran ubicacion a una cuadra de los Jardines Tuileries. Ascensor y aire acondicionado. Personal profesional y cordial.

We were quite happy with this hotel. Centrally located, just up the road from the Louvre and Champs Elysees. Bit of a walk to the Eiffel Tower but that kept us healthy!!! We were in Paris 4 nights and loved it. This hotel is also central to eateries and the Rue Rivoli is one street down which is definitely bustling!!! Staff were pleasant and helpful and the room, even though it was long and skinny, still had enough room for us - my husband, myself and our 21 year old daughter. Met a lovely couple from Melbourne and were able to help them with sites because we were leaving the next day and they had only just arrived. Lovely to hear Aussie accent.

Duminy Vendome is the best 3 star hotel we have ever had on our city trips in Europe in the last 8 years! particularly the excellent location, quiet surroundings and the quality of breakfast service and room. We will surely try to stay at Duminy Vendom on our next trip to Paris and will recommend this hotel to all our friends in Germany.

Pleasant staff. upgraded to a privilege room which was nice with large bath. Smallish room but with a nice orchid on the side table that made it all better. Great location near the Tuilleries metro stop. At 125 euros per night, i thought we got our monies worth.

I loved the neighborhood. We were able to walk to the Louvre and the bar next door is so fun! The door man was a little snotty, but he helped us a lot. The bathroom was huge!!

I booked our rooms at this hotel because of the positive comments on venere. The hotel lived up to our expectations. I would recommend upgrading to a privelege room as this is an excellent size for Paris. The standard is very small but workable. The rooms were very clean and excellently furnished. The bathroom was great! Don;t go for the expensive breakfast, there are several great patisseries and cafes in the immediate vicinity. The location could not have been better, walking distance to so much great stuff. I have already recommended the hotel to friends planning a trip in September. It is a very good value.
