I have stayed here many times over the years. The location is ideal - a short walk from the Gare du Nord with Anvers metro station and Montmartre just across the road. My room was clean, warm and comfortable with a small flat screen TV and free wi-fi. En suite was very cramped and could do with being updated but was perfectly adequate. Continental buffet breakfast in the breakfast room, now at the front of the hotel. The hotel is simple but an excellent choice for anyone looking for a great location at a reasonable price.

PLUS: Very clean rooms, but a little bit small. Very good position in Montmartre zone, with metro station at only 20m! Walking 5 min you can reach the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Free wifi. Montmartre is a nice zone to go out in the evening. Quiet. ****** MINUS: mall rooms. In our room wifi signal was poor. ****** SUMMARY: If you need an hotel just to sleep and in a strategic zone without spending a lot it's a good choice

The room was great, clean, endless hot water, balcony with views of the square plaza, great service, the two receptionist spoke fluent english and always asked if we were ok or if we need instructions getting somewhere. The area is great, 1 walking minute away from Anvers metro station and it has connection to all turistic spots. Great price. La habitación genial, limpia, agua caliente de sobra, balcón con vistas a la Plaza Anvers, servicio genial hablaban perfecto inglés. Caminando a 1 minuto de la estación de Anvers. Hotel was a perfect location for us to get around, very close to a Metro Station. We only stayed two nights but the room was cleaned and bed linen and towels changed after first night ! We thought very good value for money, all we needed was somewhere clean to sleep and a breakfast and this hotel was ideal.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. Very clean, very reasonable price. The view of the Eiffel Tower from room 67 is fab! Would definitely recommend to anybody - and although I travelled with a group of 11 ladies aged between 18 to 49, I'd definitely stay here with my husband and kids. Park outside is nice, the corner cafe to the right of the hotel entrance was very welcoming and handy for a quick bite and a few drinks. Anvers metro is within a minute walk. Sacre Couer a ten mins walk, Moulin Rouge a ten/15 mins walk. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Paris.

I've used this hotel many times and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Location (walking distance to the Gare du Nord and two metro stations) and price are unbeatable and the staff are pleasant and helpful. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable with telephone, TV and wi-fi (extra charge). Breakfast is simple but good value compared to nearby cafes. Highly recommended for anyone on a tight budget who is happy to stay in a 'no frills' hotel.

The hotel is in "Anvers", near Pigalle and Anvers underground stop. I would recommend it for people who don't want to spend much time at the hotel. Employees are quite unkind, they didn't make a single smile! Moreover, we asked for a bottle of water and they told us they didn't have it there...The surroundings are lively (not romantic at all), but fun to see. The Moulin Rouge is 10 minutes walk.

The location of the hotel is excellent, but if you travel alone, especially for ladies, I wouldn' t recommend this place. However, the metro station and the Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre are within walking-distance, I would say it was conveniently located. The hotel building was pretty old; and the bathroom door wouldn't close. Though the room was fairly clean.

This hotel was good and basic. A clean room, attentive staff, no air conditioning. Location was GREAT: 100m to metro, 250m to Sacre Coure / Montmarte, yet next to a quiet school yard with little noice at night. Oh, and ask the hotel for recommendation for breakfast/dinner, they can get you a special deal at the local eatery.

Although the room was clean and had a new bathroom, the room was very small and the beds were small and hard. There were only 5 french channels on the TV despite advertizing "satellite TV". There was no air-conditioning anywhere in the hotel as the daytime temperatures in Paris soared to +32C! The additional price they wanted for internet was ridiculous. Compared to five other hotels that we stayed at in Europe during this trip, this hotel was the lowest value for our money. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel in general is pretty good. The rooms are a little tired. The morning breakfast staff was unfriendly and loud and the coffee was awful. The evening receptionist was great. We were a little bit anxious about our stay at this hotel becauses of some critical comments. But what a surprise! Compared to the 3-star hotel we had last year in paris it was 3 classes better and in a good price relationship. We stayed in a spacious triple room at the 6th floor. The room was new renovated, very clean and we had a view to Sacre Coer, Eiffel Tower and Monparnasse. I've stayed here many times and always found the hotel excellent. My single room at the back of the hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. My American friends (on their first trip to Paris) had a newly refurbished room on the 6th floor at the front with a stunning view across Paris. The large bathroom was really luxurious - they were delighted. The hotel location is perfect with a metro station a few metres away and Montmartre just across the road. There are plenty of good restautants nearby (try L'Auberge du Clou in the Ave Trudaine) and it's a gentle 15 minute walk to and from the Gare du Nord for the Eurostar. I've stayed in many hotels in Paris over the years but this one is by far the best for the price and location.

The description in venere.com is exactly what I have expected and therefore, I did not get upset on what I saw when i came in. The hotel has an excellent location being beside a train station (Anvers) and within walking distance to Sacre Coure. Despite my room facing the road, it was quiet and peaceful. All the other hotel features are to be expected of Europe - small rooms (although I must say that what was given to me was roomier than expected) and bathrooms and small elevator. Nevertheless, you only sleep in it anyway. But honestly, the room has a very good view of Sacre Coure and nearby environs making it more than enough reason to book.

The hotel, rooms and location were as described. And for the price we were very satisfied. Our only complaint would be the shower. The shower stall was completely broken. The doors would not shut and the shower-head holder was broken so you had to hold it up yourself or have it down by your feet which would cause water to flood onto the bathroom floor because of the broken door. The hotel said they were sorry but that they had no other rooms and we would just have to deal with it.

As others have written, this is a budget hotel, so expectations must be appropriate. Although the linens were changed daily, the room and bathroom were not cleaned daily, and the maid was not good at picking up stray hairs on the bathroom floor. Our room overlooked the street and a park across the street. Friday afternoons there is a market at the park, which is delightful and noisy. Because we were facing the street, and the room has no a.c., it was noisy but picturesque. If you prefer quiet to the view, get an inside room. The staff was all friendly and helpful, speaking English quite well.

The owner? /host was rude. He knows it's a budget hotel and really doesn't care about service. The cleaning lady left all sorts of stuff in front of my doorwary when I checked in. Hotel itself is old and small. For 95Euros a night, seems a bit pricey but other places are a bit more expensive. Hotels are expensive now in Paris. Only booked it as it was close to Monmartre and only stayed one night. Maybe okay if you only stay shortterm and only want a place to sleep. Can hear people through walls so I left my TV on to sleep. The location is close to Monmartre/Sacre Coeur but surroundings not the safest. Not recommended for single female traveler. Breakfast not worth it- just less than average coffee and some croissants and plain cereal.

Book for May 8 - 16th of May, 2008 Returned on the Morning of the 13th. Very poor, consideration for the travelers. Not in the best practices. I am sure the room was rented quckly thereafter. This would not have happened in the USA. Very disapointed on this matter. Paris is a wonderful city, but the hotel policy needs reviewed and changed.

The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for: a budget hotel in Paris that was convenient to the center of Paris. We got a top floor room and enjoyed a balcony with a view of the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur. The bed was hard, the shower ridiculously small and the guests in the room next to us were incredibly noisy. Overall, though, our stay was great, and we would go back.

Third visit. Excellent as always. For the price this is a great hotel in a super location. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We booked this hotel on a special offer for March 08 however our booking confirmation said we would be allocated either a double or twin room. I e-mailed the hotel to ask them to confirm his would be a double room and they e-mailed back to confirm it would be a double room, however on arrival we had been allocated a twin and couldn't be moved as the hotel was full- poor staff service.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I thought because I had booked a single that I would be stuck in a tiny room at the back of the hotel, but my double room was a reasonable size with a great view from the balcony at the front of the hotel. For the price, I was more than satisfied by the hotel quality and cleanliness (although the carpet was questionable). Location could not be better, as the metro is a 1-2 min walk from the hotel, and Sacre Coeur is about 5 minutes away - be wary of the souvenir vendors in this area (or perhaps throughout Paris), as they may enter different prices in the cash register than what is marked on the gift item. Overall, my stay at this hotel was excellent, and I would highly recommend it to any budget travelers.

Excellent accommodation at the price. Room clean and comfortable. Could be noisy in Summer with windows open. Convenient for Gare du Nord and Montmartre and close to Metro for travelling around Paris. Would not hesitate to book for future visits to Paris.

The hotel was clean, a few minutes from Sacre Coure and Montmartre, just opposite Anvers Metro Station. 2 Senior Citizens had a wonderful weekend at a good price (through Venere) and friendly service. Thank you.

This had to be the worst hotel I have ever been in! The hotel was located in an unreachable location and didnt provide what it advertised! The breakfast was atrocious.... inedible! The staff totally unhelpful,we asked for an extra pillow (were still waiting) and we were told well you got one why want another!! Then when we approached the manager about moving hotels, he yelled at us and caused a huge scene, screaming so all could hear. There was no help at all. Finally we recieved help when we demanded the owners mobile and email address. We left this hotel and found another. It may be cheap but it is downright nasty and sadly my stay in Paris wa a dissapointment because of this hotel.I am very reluctant to try Venere.com in the future because of this harrowing experience of being yelled at by staff!!

A quiet hotel with friendly staff in a good location. It takes less than 15 minutes to walk to the Gare du Nord, and Montmartre is just up the street with lots of restauarants and pretty streets. The rooms are a bit small, but the breakfast is excellent value.

This is the second time I've stayed here. The location of the hotel is superb and the staff very helpful. Rooms are simple but clean and are excellent value for money. Wi-fi is available though it's not free. I didn't use the hotel for breakfast as I found a little place nearby which was even cheaper. Walking distance from the Gard du Nord, three metro stations (on different lines) nearby, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

A typical Paris hotel in size. Location is superb, easy access to all of Paris via metro and some very good local restaurants. I found the staff very helpful and well mannered.

We had to pay extra for the breakfast and the last day, there was no more bread, so we did not have the breakfast. The breakfast was very poor. The rooms where ok and where very clean, but there was a lot of noise in the hall and outside. The price was ok and the position in Paris is very good (next to the metro Anvers and at a few minutes walk of Montmartre).

We checked in on Dec. 8 and were so disappointed at the dilapidated condition of the rooms that were in dire need of refurbishing. Corridors & rooms were so cramped you would need to perform acrobatics to enter room with regular sized luggage. When I complained to the receptionist about the rooms' condition, he told us to try to look for another hotel. Great suggestion! We checked out the next day after finding a much better hotel in the same area for a LOWER PRICE.

I was concerned with some of the negative reviews, but decided to make a reservation after reading a thorough positive review. Personally, I had a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable. People at the front desk were friendly, helpful and very professional. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient, although it is not very attractive if you are looking for nice views from your window.

We loved our stay at Hotel Du Square d'Anvers. The area was very pretty, safe and clean. Many places to walk nearby. The metro was a block away.Lots of Souvenir shops just up the hill toward Sacre Couer. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The elevator was fun-barely fit two people with luggage!Very quiant! Don't miss the Friday afternoon market on the sidewalk across the street-cheese, bread, wine, meats, vegetables etc. We would highly recommend this hotel to our friends and family. We will definately be staying at this hotel when we come back to Paris in 2009!! To the staff of the hotel, and inparticular the lady who works the front desk(Sorry I have forgotten your name), Thank you for making our stay in Paris so memorable!!! I made a last minute booking during the time of the Rugby World Cup - I arrived late in the evening at CDG Airport and made my way with little fuss to the hotel. The room was fine - I was only staying for one night. The only letdown was that it was slightly damp and as I was nursing a cold it wasn't ideal. However, the next morning I was able to get up to Montmarte/Sacre Coeur on foot with time to spare before checking out of the hotel.

My wife and I stayed for four nights we were very pleased with the Hotel. The Metro and the bus stop are only yards away, there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There is plenty to do and see in Montmarte and the Sacre Coeur. We are very gratefull to the staff at reception who were more than obliging.

First time stay in Paris. Hotel was as expected: small, nice and quiete with a metro stop 100 meters from the hotel, so it's really easy to move around Paris. Not the nicest area of Paris (close to Pigale and Gara du nord), but we had no special problems. All in all we had a really nice stay at this Hotel. Definitely recommended for budget travellers like us.

Carino, appena dietro Pigalle ma per niente in zona malfamata. Mont-martre a vista, metro a 50m, comodissimo. Con Velib in 10 min si va in centro (tutta discesa!). Camera un po' piccola ma perfetta per chi ha bisogno solo di dormire perché di giorno... vede parigi! Portiere notturno, comodo.
