The location of the hotel is excellent, but if you travel alone, especially for ladies, I wouldn' t recommend this place. However, the metro station and the Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre are within walking-distance, I would say it was conveniently located. The hotel building was pretty old; and the bathroom door wouldn't close. Though the room was fairly clean.

My girlfiend and I stayed 2 day in this hotel. The hotel is very near metro station and the area around it is quite nice. Our room was small but clean and there wasn't noise from the street. We didn't have breakfast so I don't know how is it. Rececpionists were polite

This hotel was good and basic. A clean room, attentive staff, no air conditioning. Location was GREAT: 100m to metro, 250m to Sacre Coure / Montmarte, yet next to a quiet school yard with little noice at night. Oh, and ask the hotel for recommendation for breakfast/dinner, they can get you a special deal at the local eatery.

Although the room was clean and had a new bathroom, the room was very small and the beds were small and hard. There were only 5 french channels on the TV despite advertizing "satellite TV". There was no air-conditioning anywhere in the hotel as the daytime temperatures in Paris soared to +32C! The additional price they wanted for internet was ridiculous. Compared to five other hotels that we stayed at in Europe during this trip, this hotel was the lowest value for our money. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

It was our first time in Paris, so I don't know much about other hotels there. But, the hotel's location was fine, rather close to the metro station and to Gare du nord. No breakfast included in the price, and the room was very little.

The hotel in general is pretty good. The rooms are a little tired. The morning breakfast staff was unfriendly and loud and the coffee was awful. The evening receptionist was great. The beds were pretty comfortable. The location is good, just a block from the metro and a few blocks from Sacre Coeur. Lots of places to get a meal or groceries near the hotel. Might stay here again.

I stayed at the hotel for three nights and found the whole experience a delight. The location is great and the view from the balcony of Sacre Coeur really added the the atmosphere. The room was clean and well maintained- fresh towels everyday.

Basic, no frills hotel. We paid 70 Euro's, for Paris, it was a good deal. We hardly spent any time in the hotel. It is close to the metro, which will take you anywhere you need to go in paris. Rooms are small, elevetor is tiny, but it an old building in Paris with good prices.

Very good location in one of the places with best atmosphere. Staff were friendly. Room was clean but furniture needs to be renovated. There was a very good Patisserie approx. 50 m south of the hotel. And the fact that Metro is right at the Hotel is also considerable.

all in all, we had a very good time at the hotel. the location is perfect... most of the sights weren't far away, so you could go there by foot. there's some nice small restaurants, a metro station and the view from the balcony was fantastic. sadly, the room had some defects...which was the balcony doorknob and the room lock which was very hard to open. the service was ok, but we expected a bit more from a double room for almost 90 euros...

Easy to get to. Exit the Anvers stop and look left and you'll see it a short distance away. We accidentally left something in our room at checkout and they generously mailed the item to us. Lots of cafes around the block. No safety problems nor any obvious indication of the neighborhood being unsafe as some people suggest.

We were a little bit anxious about our stay at this hotel becauses of some critical comments. But what a surprise! Compared to the 3-star hotel we had last year in paris it was 3 classes better and in a good price relationship. We stayed in a spacious triple room at the 6th floor. The room was new renovated, very clean and we had a view to Sacre Coer, Eiffel Tower and Monparnasse. The hotel is abourt 100 m far from Metro, there are many shops and restaurants and a grown neighbourhood. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel.

I've stayed here many times and always found the hotel excellent. My single room at the back of the hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. My American friends (on their first trip to Paris) had a newly refurbished room on the 6th floor at the front with a stunning view across Paris. The large bathroom was really luxurious - they were delighted. The hotel location is perfect with a metro station a few metres away and Montmartre just across the road. There are plenty of good restautants nearby (try L'Auberge du Clou in the Ave Trudaine) and it's a gentle 15 minute walk to and from the Gare du Nord for the Eurostar. I've stayed in many hotels in Paris over the years but this one is by far the best for the price and location.

Very old hotel! The pictures shown seem like they were taken 30 years ago!!! The room was very small and the bathroom smelled like urine!! I did not take my shoes off because of the carpet conditions. However, it is very close to Anvers metro station and a 5 min walking distance from Sacre Coure cathedral which was nice. Other than that I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. If you pay 5 euros more you can find better hotels and closer to other main attractions

The description in venere.com is exactly what I have expected and therefore, I did not get upset on what I saw when i came in. The hotel has an excellent location being beside a train station (Anvers) and within walking distance to Sacre Coure. Despite my room facing the road, it was quiet and peaceful. All the other hotel features are to be expected of Europe - small rooms (although I must say that what was given to me was roomier than expected) and bathrooms and small elevator. Nevertheless, you only sleep in it anyway. But honestly, the room has a very good view of Sacre Coure and nearby environs making it more than enough reason to book.

The hotel, rooms and location were as described. And for the price we were very satisfied. Our only complaint would be the shower. The shower stall was completely broken. The doors would not shut and the shower-head holder was broken so you had to hold it up yourself or have it down by your feet which would cause water to flood onto the bathroom floor because of the broken door. The hotel said they were sorry but that they had no other rooms and we would just have to deal with it.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. €469 for one week was great value. The room was clean, nice and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic. The hotel is situated at the foot of Montmartre near Sacre Coeur. A metro station (Anvers) is located 100 metres from the hotel. Our room was of reasonable size and was quiet. Keep in mind that this is a two star budget hotel, so do not expect four star conditions! We will definatly come back on our next visit to Paris.

The owner? /host was rude. He knows it's a budget hotel and really doesn't care about service. The cleaning lady left all sorts of stuff in front of my doorwary when I checked in. Hotel itself is old and small. For 95Euros a night, seems a bit pricey but other places are a bit more expensive. Hotels are expensive now in Paris. Only booked it as it was close to Monmartre and only stayed one night. Maybe okay if you only stay shortterm and only want a place to sleep. Can hear people through walls so I left my TV on to sleep. The location is close to Monmartre/Sacre Coeur but surroundings not the safest. Not recommended for single female traveler. Breakfast not worth it- just less than average coffee and some croissants and plain cereal.

As others have written, this is a budget hotel, so expectations must be appropriate. Although the linens were changed daily, the room and bathroom were not cleaned daily, and the maid was not good at picking up stray hairs on the bathroom floor. Our room overlooked the street and a park across the street. Friday afternoons there is a market at the park, which is delightful and noisy. Because we were facing the street, and the room has no a.c., it was noisy but picturesque. If you prefer quiet to the view, get an inside room. The staff was all friendly and helpful, speaking English quite well.

It was a great experience. We first got a very small room with no bathtub, but they promised to give us a better one the next day and so they did. We are very disapointed that we had to cancel or stay inParis and return back to the USA due to a family medical emergency and the hotel did not show compassion only charged us for the full stay. Book for May 8 - 16th of May, 2008 Returned on the Morning of the 13th. Very poor, consideration for the travelers. Not in the best practices. I am sure the room was rented quckly thereafter. This would not have happened in the USA. Very disapointed on this matter. Paris is a wonderful city, but the hotel policy needs reviewed and changed.

The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for: a budget hotel in Paris that was convenient to the center of Paris. I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I thought because I had booked a single that I would be stuck in a tiny room at the back of the hotel, but my double room was a reasonable size with a great view from the balcony at the front of the hotel. For the price, I was more than satisfied by the hotel quality and cleanliness (although the carpet was questionable). Location could not be better, as the metro is a 1-2 min walk from the hotel, and Sacre Coeur is about 5 minutes away - be wary of the souvenir vendors in this area (or perhaps throughout Paris), as they may enter different prices in the cash register than what is marked on the gift item. Overall, my stay at this hotel was excellent, and I would highly recommend it to any budget travelers.

This had to be the worst hotel I have ever been in! The hotel was located in an unreachable location and didnt provide what it advertised! The breakfast was atrocious.... inedible! The staff totally unhelpful,we asked for an extra pillow (were still waiting) and we were told well you got one why want another!! Then when we approached the manager about moving hotels, he yelled at us and caused a huge scene, screaming so all could hear. There was no help at all. Finally we recieved help when we demanded the owners mobile and email address. We left this hotel and found another. It may be cheap but it is downright nasty and sadly my stay in Paris wa a dissapointment because of this hotel.I am very reluctant to try Venere.com in the future because of this harrowing experience of being yelled at by staff!!

We checked in on Dec. 8 and were so disappointed at the dilapidated condition of the rooms that were in dire need of refurbishing. Corridors & rooms were so cramped you would need to perform acrobatics to enter room with regular sized luggage. When I complained to the receptionist about the rooms' condition, he told us to try to look for another hotel. Great suggestion! We checked out the next day after finding a much better hotel in the same area for a LOWER PRICE.

I made a last minute booking during the time of the Rugby World Cup - I arrived late in the evening at CDG Airport and made my way with little fuss to the hotel. Good very basic well priced hotel in good location for Gare du Nord (10min walk with luggage) and at the base of the Sacre Coeur (10min walk including the steps!)

Mont-martre a vista, metro a 50m, comodissimo. Portiere notturno, comodo.

Fantastic locatioon, clean room, helpful staff and very reasonable. Over for the Rugby World Cup, close to Gard De Nord, 1 stop from Stade Denis, near Pigalle, with good pubs, Edward & Sons, a nice spot. Ideal spot for a weekend in Paris.

Glad to have the lift. Everything was sufficient; not spectacular, but good value for the money. Only downside was late-night (5 a.m.) drunks wandering down the corridor after rugby parties...

The only problem was a broken door latch, that the desk person said would be fixed in a few hours. It never did get fixed. To close our door when we were inside, we had to find another guest to hold the latch on the outside, so the door could close and lock. We did so, and all was okay.

I thought this hotel was very well located, so close to the metro, and L'Eglise Sacre-Coeur, so close to many things. The reception was terrific and the hotel staff was very helpful, except for once, but I just chock that up to bad human luck every once in awhile. The only thing that was a little nasty was the fact the room I was in had not been vacuumed perhaps and there were finger and toe nail clippings on the floor to welcome me. Not a great first impression when you walk into the room for the first time from the airport! But other than that, very clean, very tidy. Small room, but I was barely there. I felt I got what I wanted out of it, and for the price I paid. But I stress again, great location!

Dreary, small room, no decor, no storage other than closet, tiny bathroom. Nothing to recommend it.

This hotel met all my basic needs, it was close to public transport both from the airport (5 min walk) and to the metro (2 min walk). Any service you may require; internet, convenience stores, fruit stores, restaurants, laundry, bakeries and bars/cafes you can find in the immediate area and not more than a 10 min walk from the hotel. The area around the hotel was a nice escape from the main drag and the hectic pace of Paris. The lovely square/park out side the Hotel was welcomed at the end of every late afternoon or evening after a tired day of walking and sightseeing. My room although compact had a wonderful view with two large doors opening on to the square. Best of all the Hotel was situated at the foot of Sacre Coeur and was a great way to start my Paris adventure. May you have a wonderful time traveling and remember not to worry too much about the little things.

we got the hotel for two nights for 75 per night on Venere; we arrived pretty late at night (around 11pm), and somehow got probably the best room as far as the view goes, on the 6th floor, with a clear view of Eiffel tower and the 'half view' of Sacre Coeur. The room was pretty large, pretty much a large studio. Large bathroom as well. The only problem was that there was this door connecting to the next room (as is common in some hotels); now as it happened the neighbors were talking through the night, in normal voice, but the wall/door combination seemed to have no effect in stopping the sound! but I think we were unlucky to have people talking all night. 3 minute walk from Anvers metro station.

We stayed five nights and enjoyed our stay in this hotel. For Paris it was rather good value for the money. The staff were helpful, especially the poor guys who had to sleep near the reception to let guests like us in at night. We tried breakfast in the hotel on the first morning but decided to go to a nearby bakery on the other days. The area is very nice and lively, the next Metro is just around the corner. Unfortunately, we had room no. 45 which was next to the elevator and the stairs so it was rather noisy. The bedroom and the bathroom were very small, which could be a problem for big people. All in all, we can recommend this hotel to all those who like the area of Montmartre with the multicultural atmosphere and who don't expect the accomodation to be too luxurious.

The location is excellent and I felt very safe at all times. Travelling out of the country as a single woman this is very important to me. Wasn't very happy that the lift was out of service considering I was on the third floor with two large pieces of luggage!

This hotel was just off the main street so reasonable quiet however our room was right on the stairs so was a little noisy. Rooms were small but comfortable. There was a supermarket close by and a metro station within 100mtrs. It was also within walking distance of Gare Du Nord train station which was excellent.

Good budget hotel opposite a pleasant square. Breakfast satisfactory on first day, second day very little choice and sour milk. Did not bother on the third - excellent little boulongerie just down the road. Rooms rather tired and shabby but clean. We walked right into city centre from here (we're fairly fit) but there is a metro station just across the square.

The rooms were very small especially the bath rooms and you are charged for the breakfast at the Hotel. The price should have been about $40.00 to $50.00 US. It does have a lot of charactor as does the city of Paris, which was a plus for us.

Superb location, a few metres from Anvers Metro station with plenty of places to eat and drink nearby and Montmartre a short walk away. A small but very clean and comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. One of our rooms had a superb view of the Sacre Coeur, the Eiffel Tower and the Montparnasse Tower, the other two were at the back overlooking an internal courtyard. All were quiet and pleasant. Two minor suggestions - a small bar of soap would have been useful (though shower gel was provided), also some basic information about the hotel. We've stayed in several hotels in Paris and this was one of the best in terms of value for money. Highly recommended.

This hotel was pretty much as presented on the internet. Definitely not a bad place especially when considering the price. It's location was in a great location for my 16 year old daughter and I as there was lots to see and do very close by and it was relatively close to Gare du Nord.

I went to Paris at 29 december 2006 to 2 january 2007. the hotel is near a metropolitain station so in few minututs you can arrive in the centre of Paris. it also is near montmatre. the rooms are clean and quite but small. if you went to Paris to travel it and you stay no more in the hotel as me, that hotel is perfect. it doesn't cost so much.
