This was my 3rd stay at this hotel, and the first after it was remodeled. The rooms are small but space is effectively utilized. I will stay here again in the future.

Received an email to move two rooms to one jr. suite "at the same price". what I didn't realize was I was charge was the cost for two rooms. I was dissapointed that I had to pay 2x price for 1 1/2 size room. The suite was on the ground floor and with the busy cafes close by, foot traffice and noise persisted until early hours.

When we arrived we found out that the internet advertised rate of transportation from airport was 44euro but the driver charged us 65 euro and the hotel staff somehow said it was their fault but we could never figure out the discrepancy. People were checking out because they were jackhammering at 7am on the street outside. When I asked the manager how long it would be going on she told me she didn't work for the city of Paris so she didn't know and that she had put up a sign in the elevator 2 weeks before warning of the noise. There was no sign and we had check in the day before at nooon. Every shift there was a new employee at the from desk and they were completely untrained. Often they were doing some sort of soread sheets and seemed bothered if you asked directions for advice on restaurants. The elevator was broken and we were on the fifth floor. When we asked how long it would take to fix they said they had no idea. In short the staff was not familiar with service not did they care. Our air conditioning kept turning off and there was only one person who was occasionally on duty who coudl turn it back on. They did say they would not charge us for the one night we couldnt sleep because it was so hot and then charged us for it anyway.

This is the second time that we have stayed at the hotel du Cadran and we would definitely come back. The rooms are not large but are very clean and are pefectly adequate as who spends much time in their rooms while in Paris? You are only there to sleep and wash. The staff are excellent and very resourceful. The location is perfect for all of the major sites, shopping, restaurants, etc. Will be back. Special thanks again to Marta and Emily for making our stay very pleasant.

Location and Staff were excellent. Emily at the front desk was fantastic in helping whatever need we had. The location could not be better and very close to the Eiffel Tower. Our room overlooked the top of the Eiffel Tower and would definitely stay there again. Only negative comments was that it was very busy street so need to close the window at night as the street can get very busy and loud with deliver trucks for all the cafes and stores in the area. Otherwise a beatiful spot and many things to see and do nearby. For a espresso or coffee in the morning go to the little cafe across the street. The woman who owns it is delightful.

Apart from the compactness of the room the only other fault I could find was that the air conditioning wasnt working properly. The ammenities in the surrounding area, shops and restaurants etc. were very good.

My wife and I stayed in the Hotel Du Cadran in Feb 09. We were delighted with the hotel, room was small, but entirely as expected, well appointed and perfectly clean and well presented. The staff were all pleasent and helpful. The breakfast room and breakfast was excellent. The location of the hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Metro and surrounded by restaurants to suit all price requirements. Would not hesitate to use this hotel in future.

I had to ask to get the 4% venere.com discount but they quickly made the change. The rooms are very nice but incredibly small-the bed takes up the whole room. The location is great. Love the bistro across the street.

What a find. I hadn't been to Paris for about 20 years and wanted somewhere that my 2 kids and I could stay. I booked a Twin for me and my young Son and a Double for my older Daughter. Adjacent rooms were allocated and I was impressed that a lot of room was squeezed into a small place. As I say, I'd been to Paris before so I knew about car parking & getting around; but I also knew that hotel rooms are smaller than other cities. This place was great. The only slight negative was the quite expensive & limited breakfast; but it was only me eating so that was OK. The front desk all spoke marvellous English and we were made to feel really welcome. Just round the corner from the Tower and bars & foodshops in the street below. I loved it. I will stay here again. Deffo.

HOTEL HAS BEEN RECENTLY REFURBISHED. STILL SOME AREAS TO DO, BUT ROOMS HAVE BEEN UPGRADED EXTREMELY WELL ALTHOUGH STILL NOT BIG ROOMS, BUT THEY HAVE BEEN MODERNISED WELL. WOULD RECOMMEND LOCALITY, AS WE WERE ABLE TO WALK TO EIFFEL TOWER AS WELL AS TO THE RIVER TO CATCH BATOBUS (WHICH I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND), ALSO CLOSE ENOUGH TO METRO.

Outstanding hotel 1/2 block to the Rue Cler. Close to metro stops. Why spend the extra euros on hotel breakfast when the markets and cafes you came to France to enjoy are within shouting distance?...We'd definitely stay here again and heartily recommend it to any traveler.

The hotel was under renovation, but our room was already renovated and excellent - modern, air-conditioned, clean and quiet! We did not eat at the hotel so we cannot comment on that. Both food stores and restaurants were just around the corner, but still the block was very calm. I can really recommend this hotel!

We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Du Cadran. The room was newly renovated and, although small, made excellent use of available space. It was very smartly designed, with a flat screen television, sophisticated multi-port lighting system, and contemporary bathroom. The location was absolutely perfect. We walked to most major tourist sites and museums, and when our feet failed us, the L'Ecole Militaire Metro stop was 3 minutes away. The shops and eateries on Rue Cler supplied the most delicious, cost-effective breakfasts every day. Bread, cheese, wine and fruit were all right outside the door. We highly recommend this hotel to future travelers.

Great location, rooms are small but very nicely appointed. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. (they even tolerated my poor command of the French language) My wife and I were celibrating or 30th anniversay. We will definately return to the Cadran again. Skip the breakfast in the hotel and go to the Bakery on the corner, or the PTT cafe around the corner on Rue Cler,(about half the cost)

The front desk staff were excellent, specifically Emily, Marta and Sonia. They spoke perfect English and assisted us daily with many functions from booking fabulous restaurants with great seats, booking day trips to Versaille and obtaining RER tickets to Lille. This Hotel is situated in a very quiet area close to all major attractions and some of the best restaurants that I have ever eaten in. It is also walking distance from major bus stops, RER stations and the Metro. We love to walk and found this Hotel to be ideally situated from all of the major districts in Paris (the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Latin Quarter, etc.). We will definitely be back and only want to stay at the Hotel Du Cadran again. The room had everything one needs and was very modern, however, my only complaint is that I would have liked to have a bathtub as well as a shower, however, I managed to adjust without. This Hotel is right next door to Cler Street which is a pedestrian mall with all kinds of shops (grocery stores, wine and chocholate stores, cheese shops, bars, etc, etc.). There is no need to pay extra for the breakfast in the Hotel as you can find many food shops/restaurants right outside the door.

Hotel "Du Cadran" is undergoing full renovation which will be completely finished till the end of this year. That is why I can give only 6 to public areas. Beware of noise during the day till 6 p.m. as the renovation is in full swing in second and third floor which were also closed to the public in March. I stayed in the new room 402 where I appreciated the elegant combination of grey and fuchsia. I found the room ideal for individual travellers for short stays and with minimum luggage. Hotel "Du Cadran" wants to become in the near future a new fashionable design hotel with affordable prices.

The location of Hotel Cadran is great, about 10 mins walk from the Parc du Champs de Mars and the Eiffel Tower, and just around the corner (about 300m) from the exit of Ecole Militaire Metro station. We arrived on the Eurostar at Gare du Nord, caught the Metro and found the hotel easily. Our double room on 5th floor had been renovated and was very clean. It was large enough for two people, and the bathroom was also pristine and roomy enough, the only gripe being the sliding door on the bathroom not affording much privacy. There are some nice bar/restaurants nearby, we didn't eat in the hotel but had an American breakfast for about 8 euros at a bar on Rue Cler, which is a typically French market street with amazing fruit and flower shops, and bakeries with various pastries, cakes, etc. We would recommend Hotel du Cadran and would come back here again (we only only booked for one night this time). Try and catch the light-show on the Eiffel Tower - it was on at about 8pm when we were there.

We have been to Paris many times and we stayed in this hotel four times. It is excellent. Now it is being reforming in order to be more comfortable and beautiful in modern style. We hope that it will not stay more expensive. We recomend this hotel mainly by localization (near Rue Cler (market gourmet)and few meters of Metro Ecole Militaire) We hope to return soon. Considering the expense of hotels in Paris, this was a good value in that it was clean, friendly, and well-located (although we were there during Metro strikes which was unfortunate!) However, the room is the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in (and we dont spend much time in it, but this was really difficult for luggage, ironing, etc). They also are apparently redoing some rooms and we were awoken at 8am on Saturday morning with very loud construction clearly on our hotel floor. I would have appreciated at least a warning since we didn't get in until midnight the night prior. I recommend it for budget travellers who are interested in seeing the city but not for a large family or for a romantic experience.

We had a good stay at this hotel. The room was small but typical for Paris, and had just been renovated. The staff we dealt with were very welcoming and spoke good English. We had a problem with the air conditioning but the manager couldn't be more obliging and helpful, making sure it was working by the time we were back in the evening. The location is very good, being in easy walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, and right next to the market street.

Close to the Eifel tower and Invalides, and a lot of cozy cafes nearby. Walking distance to more central parts in Paris is rather long however, unless you choose to take the subway. Subway station only 200 m away. Rooms at 5.floor are very modern and high-tech, but rather small. No noice from the street.Lounge was not very appealing, and all the flowers in the photo gallery were missing during our stay. Reception staff: some friendly and helpful while others didn't even notice your presence at the desk front. The hotel was all in all a classical 3-star hotel in Paris, nothing more, nothing less. We would stay there again if we had some business to attend to in this local area.

Lovely stay although there was aproblem with arrangements to be met at CDG airport which meant hanging around then using the bus but not a terrible problem as only 2 adults would have been peeved if travelling with children. Good restaurants nearby, an 'American' breakfast - slightly more substantial can be had in cafes along Rue Cler for €8. Lovely and central, rooms small but good for Paris standards, good sized bathroom, warm and nice cosy bed.

I travelled with my two teenage children and we loved this hotel,We have stayed in Paris before but the location of this hotel is just great - the wonderful Rue Cler near by and the walk from the hotel to the Eiffel Tower(ask the hotel staff for direction to the tower!)Avoid breakfast at all cost if you are one second late i.e one second after 10pm as the staff will be rude if you do manage to get in and it is over priced for the service you get!Sevice at reception was excellent. The hotel rooms on the 5th floor where we stayed were small but lovely and spotless. We will return.

This is an excellent small hotel in a great district of Paris. Our room was spotless, well furnished and looked onto a street that is pure Paris - brasseries, fromagerie, boulangeries, chic locals having three hour lunches. The Eiffel Tower, River Seine and Champs de Mars gardens are all within 15 minutes slow walk. There are also two metro stations within 10 mins walk. We will definately stay here next time we are in Paris.

This was my first time to visit Paris and I eagerly await a return trip! I found the city to be very clean, with beautiful scenery and people! I found this property online while sitting at the Nice, France airport and was not disappointed. Hotel Du Cardran was in a lovely area where one feels safe walking at night. The common areas were spacious and inviting, however the rooms were a little snug (although, to be fair, I hear this is to be expected in Eurpoe). The staff is very helpful and well informed. They assisted me with tours, directions and went beyond the call of duty when I was having touble with my Computer. When I return to Paris, I'll certainly stay there again. Of note, I saw a sketch of how they intend to remodel the rooms and am looking forward to seeing the finished work on a future visit.

The staff at Du Cadran were very nice and helpful during our stay. There was a little confusion over breakfast being included in the price. They said specifically if you book with Venere breakfast is NOT included. So beware. Also the beds are as hard as rocks so if you like firm beds this place would be fine. Given the choice I would not stay here again, not service related. I would choose Hotel Observitorie-Luxembourg in the 5th Arr. my husband stayed there for business and enjoyed it much more.

Paris is on most travelers agenda at some time. Most people know what they want to do when they get there, but where to stay? If, like me, you plan to spend most of your time out of your hotel, sampling the delights of the city, then you will probably want a good value hotel, offering clean and comfortable rooms, in a good location. Perhaps additionally, you would like to be in an area well served by restaurants, cafes and bars, with good transport links via the Metro? If so, the Hotel Du Cadran will serve you well. From the moment we called to tag an extra night onto our stay, to the time we reluctantly left to catch the Eurostar to London, the staff of the Hotel Du Cadran were unfailingly polite and pleasant, many of them demonstrating their excellent command of English and making a mockery of my feeble attempts at French. The Hotel is on a quiet street in the 7th arrondisement, though with the bustling Rue Cler around the corner. It is 2 to 3 minutes walk to the Ecole Militaire Metro station and only a minute or so more to see the Eiffel Tower, especially worthwhile at night to see the illuminated tower and it's light show! Perhaps you could do this before wandering into one of the many, many restaurants in this area. So, if you are primarily heading to Paris for the city itself and not the luxuries of your hotel, check out the Du Cadran. You will be pleased you did.

My wife and I stayed at the cadran for 9 days and enjoyed it greatly. We did however have the room beside the elevator and stairwell which was a bit noisy but not too bad. The service we got from the girls was great. They where very friendly and helpful with all our needs. We would stay at the hotel again in a heartbeat. The location is excellent with all the cafes and little shops right on the doorstep. We had no problems whatsoever during our stay except for the mini bar and tea and coffee not being topped up every day and having to ask the night concierge for some teabags. The shower was great with heaps of water pressure, ( no complaints from Vanessa) and very clean. We would both recommend the hotel du cadran to anyone.

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at the Hotel du Cadran in late May 2005. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning did not work. We experienced unseasonably warm weather during our stay and the temperature in our room was nearly unbearable. The location, however, was great - only about two to three blocks from the nearest subway and within easy walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. The room was small but I was visiting Paris for the first time with a friend and we really only needed a hotel for a convenient place to sleep. If you are looking for a conveniently located, clean, fairly economical hotel than the Hotel du Cadran is an excellent option.

We went to this hotel on our "honeymoon" for a weekend. The room was clean, cool and quiet but small. We booked a kingsize bed an got two big beds put togeteher. The hotel asked us for any special wish that we had for our visit so we informed them about our marriage in hope that they could make our visit special! But they didn't show any knowledge of our marriage or we couldn´t notice anything special at all in our room.
