Room in 5th floor looking to street was totally and efficiently newly reconstructed, cleaning and change of towels each day. The bad first impression: not kept in order and dirty stairs. Wifi or wired internet not at disposal.

Elevator is "en etage" ie: between floors, so you Have to lug luggabe up or down. no one helps you. Walls are thin, so very noisy. Where did they take those photos: not in the hotel i saw!! feels like a hostel, with lights burnt out in elevator and in passage ways. only some of older staff seemed even reasonably competent.

We were asked to go to another address near the east station... On 5th floor so not too noisy although facing to the station... Someone next door was smoking and the smoke leaks through the bathroom... And he activated the alarm several times and no one takes care of it. Residents look weird so not recommended for single travelers, but maybe that is just my feeling. The room was narrow but fine, you can find everything here.

Property poorly maintained noisy toilet cistern that had to be turned off to try to enable sleep Inadequate number of towels No pillow slips, bottom sheet tucked over pillows thin walls, creaking floor boards, noise from neighboring rooms leading to interrupted sleep Rooms not ready for checkin until 3pm. Reception was friendly, apologetic for delay. Well located near Gare du Nord

Good hotel for a budget in Paris. Good location near Gare du Nord and staff friendly enough. There is a supermarket in the corner of the block, so can get some supplies if needed. No frills, rooms a little bit on the small side with no ventilation (need to open the bathroom window and the bathroom door to get some air, and that window is perilously dangerous.

We were a group of three friends on a leisure trip in Paris. The Good: - Excellent location in the center of the city, the hotel being near the major attractions (the Louvre is at walking distance for instance). The "Gare d'Est" is a few paces away, as is a Metro station, a supermarket and a lot of cheap places where you can eat. - Everything in the room, including the bathroom, was very clean, apart from the bed linen (read further for more details). - Price is OK. - Staff smiles and is polite. The Bad: - The public areas of the hotel look bad and have a cheap and a bit dirty feel to them. - The elevator is tiny and the stairs are narrow, so it may be difficult to get to the upper floors if you have a big luggage. - There were some noises from our neighbors during the first night (a hooker and her client). The Ugly: - The bed linen was stained with something that was brown in color and looked remarkably like the S word. Also, it was evident that the bed linen was not changed prior to our arrival, as numerous hairs from the previous occupants could be seen on the bedclothes. I was so disgusted that I slept in my clothes. Conclusion: Hotel with an acceptable price and an excellent location. However, I would only recommend it to people who come for a short stay and only need a place to sleep. Also, keep in mind to ask for clean bed linen at the reception.

The two main receptionists, a woman in the morning and man in the evening, were wonderful. Although I don't speak more than 3 words of French, my traveling partner is near fluent. These two were pleasant to both of us just the same. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable- allowing us to borrow silverware from the kitchen and helping us with internet difficulties. Great hospitality!! My only minor complaint was due to mold spores on the shower curtain. But as a seasoned traveler, this was something easily overlooked.

The worste hotel I have ever been in my life. The Hotel seems to be under permanent renovation. Open electric wire, scratched wall... really bad. The bed cover had even an oil stain on and there was no toilet paper in the bath-room. The price is far to high for the "non" quality provided. Absolutely NO GOOD for family with children. A real shame for Venere.com: this hotel should be delisted.

When we arrived we were told that the room we had reserved--with en suite bath/shower & toilet WAS NOT AVAILABLE. We were instead given a room with only a sink and bidet. The toilet was down the hall and the shower was 3 floors below and shared with the rest of the hotel! The room was not very clean and we had to ask for more towels as the 3-person room we got had only 2.

We had lots of problem getting to the place, as there were 2 roads with similar names. When we got there we were shocked how dirty the room was and toilet bath rails smell. There was no toilet rolls or soaps. At night it was hard to sleep because of noise. Bed sheets were dirty and there were nails found on the bed and dirty sock. Next morning we had to look for another hotel as we had small kids who were very prone to get ill. We spent whole day to look for different hotel, eventually we moved out in 2 days instead of 6. That was terrible experience specially with kids, my wife got sick and it ruined our holiday. We ended up spending more money in other hotel. We were misled as the hotel was not as it seemed when we booked.

The hotel is well situated, good environment, easy to found, clean, very friendly staff. But one think I did not like was there was no fridge in the room so I had to go downstaires to give them my stuff to put in the fridge, unfortunately, when I collected it two days later I was dispapointed as I found out that they did not put it in the fridge and I had to throw evrything in the bin. That's the bad souvenir I have for Hotel du Brabant, otherwise everything was ok.I Liked the dog so much, although my wife was scared of him. The staff was very welcoming and they spoke English well enough to direct us to our destinations. The 3.50 breakfast is a cut up French loaf with butter and jam and includes a pot of coffee or hot chocolate. This is all we needed and a much better deal than spending 6.00 just for a coffee like we had done earlier in the day! When we came for breakfast, the lady said that they had run out of bread, but if we could wait 2 minutes, she would run and get us some. We were lucky to have a fresh loaf and hot coffee. We would gladly return to this hotel.

A very budget hotel with a corresponding inadequate maintenance program - our shower was in need of new washers in the taps. A previous upgrade appears to have been done on very stringent budget by an amateur or amateurs. Although only two-star, I was very disappointed with this hotel and glad I'd only booked 2 nights. The radiator was turned off in my room and could not be turned on until the owner came with a spanner the second day after I had spent one freezing (Dec) night in the room. There was no plug for the wash basin and no one could supply one. There was also no soap or beaker in the room on my arrival; a bulb was missing on one of the (wobbly) light brackets above the bed; there was no tv remote. Also on my arrival, I had to clamber over sheets thrown across the staircase by a maid. There was no bread for breakfast on the Mon. I ate out. The owner promised me a discount - it amounted to just 4 Euros! My advice: stay well clear, unless you're a backpacking student prepared for the worse!

The room wasn't very clean, but at the price it was what I expected. The employees were very nice and very helpful. If the room had been a bit more clean, I probably would stay there again, but as it is now, I'm not sure I would. The best thing was, that it was so close to Gare du Nord and Gare L'est. You could go anywere in no time. And it wasn't unpleasent to walk home from the station in the evening. The breakfast was not very good, but they let us buy breakfast at a local baker and then bring it back to the hotel and eat it there. They were so friendly and helpful. Lovely people. There is a supermarket right on the other side of the road and all in all you can find almost everything to eat in the area. I just wish they would do that last little effort to make the hotel clean.

For a 2* close to train & 1 transfer to main part of Paris, it's OK. I'd rather stay in La Defense for better accommodations & straight train ride (for same $$). Squishy beds, molded shower curtains...this would be a 1* in US standards. I wouldn't dream of paying more than 45E. Front desk spoke a little English and was kind.
