This was our first visit to Paris and the hotel was in a convenient location (close to Metro)and seemed reasonably priced. The room was clean but small, which is not unusual for European cities. Our bathroom was spacious and contemporary, with nice tile work. A shower curtain is all that's needed to keep the entire bathroom from getting soaked during showering. Although we faced a big street, the noise was not a problem. Beds are quite comfortable. The self serve breakfast (croissants, rolls, jam, butter, cheese, cereal, coffee, tea etc.) was a little overpriced at 10 Euros per person. There's a sidewalk cafe down the street (towards the Seine) with excellent croissants. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Very good, asked for a room not facing the street and was not bothered by traffic noice at all. The walls though, where not very sound proof and the cleaning staff started really early inn the hallways, waking me up. Staff was friendly, the bathroom was excellent, good location and overall I would reccomend this hotel. Good quality for a good price :)

The room was small, as most European rooms are, but it was clean and nicely appointed. The staff was helpful and considerate. Overall, we had a great stay and would return.

4 days visiting museums and sites in Paris with my partner. A bit expensive but welcoming and efficient staff. Parking facilities on previous request. Excellent location. Noisy early risers, but this can't be blamed on the hotel staff... Try to ask for rooms on the garden! Don't miss the market in rue Mouffetard on Sunday.

I generally loved the whole hotel. The staff was always friendly and helpful (especially the hot guy at the reception), the room was huge despite of what I read earlier, everything was clean. The room indeed was a bit noisy, but that didn't stop me sleeping well. The metro is 5 minutes away, the surroundings are great. I would definetely stay here again and would recommend to anybody.

Hotel was rehabbed about a year ago. Bathroom was new, but wallpaper was worn. One of the subway lines is elevated near the hotel. I didn't mind since I live close to public transit in Chicago. The rooms were nice size. The hotel was a very good value for the price. I would certainly recommend the hotel for the traveler that wants a clean, convenient place to stay.

The hotel DeVillas is located in the 5th arrondissement in Paris, which makes it a pretty nice location. However, we arrived there and found the front desk less than helpful. For every question we asked (where can we find a place that changes money, how much does the Louvres Museum cost and so forth), the response we got was: I don't know. They could have found out, but they were not willing to help us. It seems as if the front desk guy was a student working there for the summer. The room cost 140 Euros (approx. $210), the breakfast was 10 Euros ($15) for a croissant, an orange juice and butter and jelly. The breakfast is served on the lower level (sous-sol), which is quite odd. They also charged us 20 Euros for parking the car in their private parking close by. The room was quite small and the bed was awfully hard (though I like a firm mattress). The bathroom was quite nice surprisingly with a nice tub and nice tile work. As the hotel is located at an intersection it is quite noisy. The cherry on the cake was the loud jack hammer early in the morning as they were redoing the pavement just below the hotel; well that one I cannot blame it on the hotel, just the city :-). To recap, our final bill for one night was 200 Euros ($300), and we will not be back!

Location as per other reviewers very convenient particularly for the metro at Saint Marcel and garde Austerlitz. Both within a few minutes walk. The latin Quarter also very easy to reach on foot. We found the hotel itself to be a bit shabby in the first room we stayed in one of the shower panel doors was missing, the decor looked tired and there was no access to English TV channels. Second night we were moved to better quality room which looked more like the pictures on the internet however toilet door did not close. The guys on reception were friendly and as all employees gave a better account of the Hotel than the owners investment in the property. The lift is tiny. One good thing again location oreintated was the local shops, cafes etc. Sorry but would not stay there again would try something cheaper than what we had to pay and probably get the same quality.

It was really well located, Not a lot to see in the surrounding area but a few cafes and a good supermarket and really close to the Metro. I went with 2 friends and the room was suprisingly more spacious than I was expecting- we shared a triple room- considering Parisian standards this was a welcome suprise! Staff were quite lovely and not at all rude. We actually stayed on a bit longer than expected. Would stay there again for sure and I think this proves that the Hotel was a good deal!

The room was rather spacious, newly refurbished and had given a good quality of stay. We didn't have lots of interaction with the stuff, but they were friendly and helpful when we needed them. They have spoken English well enough to comunicate. We've got to the hotel late at night (11 pm)and the stuff knew that we are going to arrive at that hour. They'd given us the key and didn't even ask us check in. As the matter of fact we didn't check in until the end of our stay. The metro station is two minutes walk from the hotel and it is five-ten minutes by metro from the center of the city. This metro line goes directly to the main railway stations Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est so it is cofortable to get to every part of the city or get to the airport CDG.

We enjoyed our stay at the Devillas hotel however I didn't feel that the rooms looked like the photos shown on the description. They were very small but as we were only in it to sleep so it was fine. It could be a little noisy at times. It was very clean with fresh towels everyday. I would stay here again.

Overall Staff is gentle and familiar but there are some limitations to talk in English, except Mr. Yasser, from the front desk, who is a very polite and helpful man in addition of his fluency in English. Indeed, he is always ready to inform and help. Thank you Yasser ! Rooms are clean and refurbished, air-conditioner is OK and surprisingly we were not bothered by the noise from outside. Vedation of the windows and doors is OK. The bad news go for the breakfest. It is too simple and scarse. Better move to the near corner Il Piacere Brasserie where you get eggs, ham and other stuffs in a comfortable environment. We stood for seven days and, all in all, I would certainly say that´s a fair place/price relation.

Although we had let know that we would arrive at 3.00 pm there was no available room for us ¡¡ we had to wait 2 hours until they gave us one. That was terrible but in the meanwhile they allowed us to use a different room for changing clothes. the first room (provisional) was really terrible and when we arrive late in the night they offered us another room, this was the second one, and it was not ready too ¡¡. Finally they hosted us in the third room that was really nice (in the fifth floor instead in the third one as the two previous) so it was finally a good idea to wait but not very profesional in my opinion.

Reasonable priced. Well connected, very close to a couple of stations. The elevator should be replaced (true for most of them anyway, in the old continent). Pleasent stay. Do recommend.

I have been in Paris about four times. This hotel ranks average compared to others that I have stayed in Paris for the same star rating. However, I really resented that I was able to hear what was happening on the nearest rooms. I don't mind small spaces in Europe, but the very minimum that I expect from a hotel is to let me get a good sleep. This issue totally brought down the otherwise good performance of the hotel (good compentence and performance of the staff, and cleanliness of the place).

This Hotel is horrible from the staff to the room. I stayed here because I wanted to be in a different location this time in Paris, bad choice. The picture do not begin to describe how tiny the room is. The staff was incompetant. Every night I had to beg for ice and even then I only recieved 3 cubes at a time. The a/c didn't work the maid left the window open flies came into the room the front desk said there is nothing they can do. The TV stopped working. There were no amenities, the towels were gray and worn. The mattress was old. This is a horrific place to stay. I urge everyone to stay somewhere else. The room was used just to sleep. I thought it would be okay bad move on my part. Stay away avoid this place trust me it is a dump. The shower is so small the phone booth around the corner was bigger.

Quite Hotel with basic service. Strategic for trasport is located near subway (saint-marcel) train (gare d'austerlitz) and by foot is in prossimity of notre-dame. Too high the price for the quality. Suggested for few days.

We found this hotel to be a great value. In Ar5 near Gare Austerlitz. The room was small but well appointed and clean. Private bath with shower. 20 min walk to Notre Dame, 2 min walk to Metro (St. Marcel station). Lots of Cafe's nearby. The staff were very helpful, spoke perfect English (and were indulgent of our imperfect (understatment) French). It's not in the most glamorous part of town, but it's clean, safe, a reasonable walk to most of the sights, and the price made it an outstanding value.

The hotel was exactly as we had expected from reading the reviews - small, but clean and quiet with friendly staff. Good location - close to a supermarket and to metro and railway stations. The air conditioner was a definite plus given the very warm weather. Would definitely stay here again.

Location was great, a short metro ride away from everything! The price vs quality was as to be expected, the rooms are smaller than I had imagined from the pictures and definitely have aging. It's very noisy in the mornings when people are getting up and about, the maids cleaning rooms down the hall are very loud - the walls are not that thick. Other than that, our stay was pleasant and I would stay here again.

This hotel looks very good from its internet site and the photos provided by venere.com However the reality is very different. Rooms are tiny, the hotel is noisy and the air conditioning, nor shower worked when I was present. I would not recommend at all this hotel.

We very much enjoyed are stay at the Hotel Devillas. The staff was quite pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located quite close to two metro stops and a short distance to the Seine. There are many nice restaurants nearby as well as two terrific bakeries. The only problem is that a hospital is located in the vicinity and there are ambulances with their sirens blaring day and night. The week we stayed at the hotel the air conditioning was not working and so we had to keep our windows open and the noise was a bit of a problem. In spite of the noise I still think I would recommend this hotel as a reasonably priced place to stay in Paris.

We booked the hotel because it claims to have central airconditioning. Upon arrival, we found out the airconditioning has not been working for a while. Outside temperature is over 90 degree, the tiny hotel room with only one tiny window feels like an oven!

The hotel was close to two metro stations that made getting to the places you wanted to go very handy. The area it self is not bad with a good few cafe and shops in the local area although they do close early. The Bastile is around 15mins walk and Notre Damm is also within walking distance. I would recommend staying here and would go back again.

The location is excellent, being only one block from the metro with easy connections to CDG airport. It is not far from all major attractions. Service is excellent, and rooms clean and very adequate. Can certainly recommend.
