The worst experience that I ever had. No aircon. and even the shower was upsetting. A suggestion - never have a vacation in Paris on Sunday, all the shops are closed and the already low level of courtesy is dropping down dramatically.

The hotel is well situated, simple, and the staff is very friendly and well competent. However, when we got to the hotel we discovered it was being renovated, which means there was some noise and dust around oru floor. Also, the AC in the room did not work, which was quite unfortunate given the fact that it was a very hot weekend in Paris. Nevertheless, as we indicated the problem to the receptionist, we were given a ventilator.

This hotel was comfortable and clean. The room was small but good enough for a tourist visit to Paris. At least enough room to fit in two suitcases. It was expensive for the size of room, however all hotels are expensive in Paris! The location was good, close to the St Paul metro station which is on the same line as a lot of the tourist areas. There were some nice restaurants close by as well. Staff at hotel were friendly.

Very good location, breakfast was not included. Decent price for the location but not great, better deals could be had if I had booked more in advance but overall a good stay. The cleaning staff were very nice and there are a few good god cafes right around the corner. It would not be my first choice, but I would stay there again if it meant not being in the same area.

Paris is in my experience one of Europe's most expensive cities, therefore price/quality is OK with this hotel. If you want to experience Paris, this hotel is a very good place to stay in, because you have 10 minutes walk to Notre Dame, 1 min walk to famous shoping street Rue Rivoli, 20 minutes walk to the Louvre etc. There are many good (but pricy) restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel, so also in this regard it is very practical. Metro station is 2 min away ... Just remember to keep windows closed at night if you want to have some sleep. Very noisy trafic also at 3 AM ...

The location of this hotel is excellent. It's a 3-minute walk to St. Paul and Bastille Metro stations. Many cafes and restaurants line the surrounding streets. A supermarket is just around the corner. My single room is small compared to N. America standards (as are all the hotel rooms I've stayed in Europe) and very plain looking, but clean. Bathroom is surprising full sized, with a tub and shower combination. Street noise is not a problem as long as the window is closed. Room A/C was working. Wireless internet access is available in guest rooms, for a steep price of 30 euros a day, or 10 euros for 2 hours. This borders ripoff IMHO.

It was a dump. Small, dingy, dirty rooms and a surly man at the desk who wouldn even make a restaurant reservation for us for our first nite even though I gave him the telephone number of the restaurant time and number in the party. He said'"You have a phone in your room. Do it yourself."We checked out that moment , and forfeited our deposts for the two rooms even though he said he would give us back the deposit for one of the two rooms we resereved for the four nites. He reneged on that offer.I am not fussy, finicky or grumpy. My wife have .travelled to Italy every summmer for the last 38 years and have been to Paris 11 times We do not ver stay in fance Excelsior type hotels. I would remove them fom your listing and not reccommend them to anyone. Sincerely Dr. and Mrs. Jerome Shapiro

Perfect location, but the walls are a little thin - I had to ask the desk clerk to knock on someone's door at 1:00 a.m. because they were listening to the TV too loud. But aside from that, this hotel is really perfectly fine. There's a Monoprix downstairs, the breakfast is a good value, the employees are all friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is a joke, I feel sorry for the poor people who work there. I have seen many small hotel rooms in Paris but this was the smallest, not big enough for our luggage and the bed was just over a single and we paid for a double @ 122 Euros through Vaneer. Air conditioning broken, heat wave in Paris (95F) and sleeping on the floor made this a most unpleasant experience and met several other people who thought this hotel was terrible. Thank god it was for only one night as a stop over to Gare de Lyon for the next morning's TGV and the only good thing about this hotel is that it was a short walk to a lovely dinner at Bofinger.

The location of this hotel is its greatest plus. It's in the Marais, very near the Bastille area and the old Jewish quarter, near the Ile St. Louis, the Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame), a few blocks from several Metro stations and in the same building as a Monoprix (groceries, clothes, etc.) Our room was very small, had no drawers but a few shelves, no English language TV and no extra pillows. The bathroom was good, with a shower in the tub. We would stay there again.

I guess that the price of the rooms for being in a very very nice area of paris is justifiable. The hotel was fine, clean, the beds were perfect and it was very central located! The only thing is/was the ventilation system of the hotel to make the air condition in each room work. This machine was making a very loud 'humming' sound 24 hours a day - very monoton and annoying. they should maybe get a new system. I assume that newer once are more silent.

Although the rooms are quite small, the air-conditioning, sound-proofing windows and fantastic location make this a brilliant hotel to stay in when in Paris. There is a Monoprix supermarket next door, an amazing fruit shop across the street and a fantastic cafe round the corner which serves the quickest breakfast on the planet! You could happily sit at that cafe all day just watching people. Will def go back.

Fantastic location with large grocery store directly below the hotel, short walk to Metro, bakeries, restaurants as well as numerous prominently gay and lesbian establishments. Quiet street in August, but I'm not sure how that would compare to months when school is in session considering the boy's school directly across the street. Room small but adequate with updated bathroom including a nice shower with great water pressure. The built-in hair dryer was greatly appreciated for drying shoes and backpacks after we got caught in a rain storm. Small closet for hanging items, but very limited space for stackable clothing so we pretty much had to live out of our suitcases. The A/C unit was quiet and remote controlled. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again in the future, especially at the rate we received on Venere which was considerably less than other web sites we checked (such as hotels.com) as well as the posted walk-in rate at the hotel.

Not for those who want luxury, but I had a very enjoyable stay here. The room was small but then it was also cheap. I specifically requested a double bed which I got without a problem. The room was cleaned every morning and the shower was powerful and hot. For the area and the price I would recommend it.

I was disapointed with my stay at jardins de Paris Marais Bastille. It is never worth the 3 stars it was given -it is more like a 1 star hotel. Rooms are in need of decoration as they are shabby and worn and of low standard. However the location is very good.

The location was great, the service competent and friendly. We did not take the optional breakfast, but noticed the pleasant appearance of the breakfast area. The room size was minimal, but the beds had good quality mattresses (important detail for tired tourists....),excellent quality of the room and bathroom appliances. Overall, a very pleasant stay. However, because of the cramped room size, I believe the price/quality ratio could be improved (may be next year the room will get bigger or the price smaller?!!) An important detail for the travelers on a budget: the MONOPRIX store adjacent to the hotel has a well stocked food and wine section. Best Regards, Paul

I liked the room. Although small, it was tastefully and simply decorated in nice colors and fabrics. There was a lot of space to hang and store clothing, etc. And the location is hard to beat.

It is a good option in Marais. Rooms totally refurbished . One problem to be reviewed by owners is that there isn´t enough places available for breakfast - only 4 tables. Poor breakfast for the price 11 euros .
