Turkey, Oct 2009
we stayed 3 nigths at the hotel. Clean room and bath, minibar, safe, and tv in room. Quite and montmarte view. Free internet access card in the room, you have to take it from the reception. The lady and man at the reception both speak english, but they are somehow a little bit rude. From the view of price/performance very nice hotel. Good for the visitors who are seeking for a place to sleep and hava a shower...

The hotel is in a good location. The staff were friendly enough, the breakfast was very good each morning but have to admit the room was small and stuffy and did not meet the standard i expected especially after viewing the photographs online.

The hotel was quite correct, both in location and quality. The receptionist of the Algerian night shift is very sociable and friendly, deserves a pay rise! The bad news is that when paying by card has to have the chip because they do not have POS for tapes

The good: - Excellent location (5 minutes to subway, 1 minutes to grocery/convenience store, city's bike parking right in front, ATM within 2 minutes, tons of bakeries and cafes within 2-10 minutes, 40 minute walk from the place of Concord, 30 minutes to the Church of Magdalene) - Great staff (Dominique, you were excellent :), and so were the rest of the staff ) - Clean rooms - Free internet in common area + free 45-minute card for your personal use (Check their website for more details) Things to be aware of: - Breakfast is served in the common area, but is NOT included in the room rate - Passages leading to the rooms are very VERY small. Not an issue for me, but getting luggage in and out was memorable - No amenities (toothpaste, toothbrush, shaving cream, etc) available either in the rooms or the front desk. Get them with you, or buy from the nearby convenience store Overall, very satisfied and would visit again.

Ten steps from the Folies Bergere, the neighhborhood was surprisingly quiet. Room 701 was particularly charming with its mansard ceiling, plenty of room and excellent view of Sacre Coeur. The room was on the warm side, and this was May, so I Imagine August might be tropical.

Very nice hotel at good location. Price a bit high but we got a big room and the breakfast was included though not stated in the confirmation. A bit loud but then again you're in Paris not in the countryside! I will stay there again next time.

We had not hot water for two days what is absolutely unreasonable and unconfortable.

The location of the hotel was really good, close to the metro. Our room was a shocking experience: the carpet was not clean, with some black spots, the room doesn't fit under the category of a 3 star hotel (pretty shabby, though nice pictures on the walls in the style of impressionists). The air conditioner was vandalized and looked not good. It was also noisy, we could hear every single sound from the street and neighbouring room. Bed linen stunk with chlor. That was really disgusting. On top of all we suddenly discovered no warm water in the bathroom on our second day. We were left out of water for two days. But the good thing about it is that the hotel offered us free breakfasts instead. That was nice of them. The breakfasts cost 10 euro and actually the price didn't reflect the quality at all. But the hotel doesn't spoil the impression anyway. Firstly, it was really located in a good place. Secondly, we paid not that much to expect the hotel to be a 5 star hotel. But I wouldn't recommend you to stay there. Really!! This is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

The hotel is OK, nice place for a short stay in Paris. The rooms are small but are clean. The employers are very friendly. The hotel is very well situated, close to everywhere and close to Grand Boulevard Street where you can find hundreds of places to have dinner or to have a drink.

True to its 3-star rating. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Good hotel location, with convenience outlets, restaurants and metro stops within easy reach. The hotel is in decent running condition, and a repairman is on call for all repais.

Although the service and location wasn't bad, I was disppointed. The walls are very thin so we could hear everything that was going on in the room next door. This included someone having a shower at four in the morning!! Also, when checking in at the front desk, there was a list of people who had made reservations along with the prices they were paying. Unfortunately I had paid 10 Euros more than the other guests.

I would have given it a close to perfect score except for the thinness of the walls between the rooms. The first night, I was awaken at 2:00 am by two Chinese neighbours holding a normal conversation, and the second morning at 5:30 am by the TV from the same room. The street noises were never an issue. The entire staff was terrific. The breakfast was a very good value. I will definitely stop there again (with earplugs ;-) ).

It was great. We will return to this hotel next time we go to Paris. Near Metro and many "good" restaurants around the hotel. With kindness we got a drink from the bar. We don't think the bar is used so often!

Hola.

very good location, just in the border with the 2nd arrondisement, good restaurants around it, and in a walking distance to lots of places, as Louvre, Notre Damme, even Sacre Coeur! anyway there are cheaper hotels in the area which offer the same facilities saving 15 euros per night, you cannot see the star difference. the breakfast is 10euros, so you'd better have a look to the boulangeries

We are a couple with an infant (8 mths) we booked a double room, we also had a travel cot for him so it wouldn't be a problem. however, the hotel management increased room rate to triple afterwards. even though we still stayed at the same DOUBLE room (they claimed they had no triple room vacant). So we were forced to stay the whole period of our reservation and they refused to modify and let us leave. just an example of how some greedy hotel managements can take advantage of tourists. your choice !! (beware of the brunette receptionist wearing glasses, she's the one who played this trick)

Excellent hotel.

Enjoyed our stay, but had an issue with air conditioning unit, which was not resolved satisfactorily - we couldn't turn it on without a remote control, but the room didn't have one. Reception lent us theirs, but I was called in my room 5 mins after I had it to return it to them!!!

We had a problem with our bathroom - there was an awful sewage smell from the shower drain and once we voiced our complaint the staff were not as friendly as they had been originally. We had to convince them to move us to another room, but it was smaller than what we originally had been given. I would not stay here again.

This hotel was very nice, there were only 2 problems. The walls are very thin, so I would not recommend this hotel for people with small children. Also our room smelled really, really bad! It was a strong moldy smell that would not go away even with air freshner and opening the windows.

In general I enjoyed my stay at De Lausanne. The location is good - in the heart of Paris without being too touristy. It was not a long walk down to the Seine, perhaps about 20-30 minutes, but there were several Metro stops close by for those in more of a hurry. I appreciated being able to leave my luggage on my check out day, as I had to catch a night train later on. I didn't eat the breakfast, as there seemed to be a fair number of cafes nearby.

De Lausanne is a quiet hotel surrounded by other accomodation options. The surroundings are very pleasant and "typically Paris-like" even if you have to walk for a few minutes to see any of the "hot spots" of the city. The hotel is stylish and it was given a try to pass over some of the 18th century flair to the guests. Unfortunately, not all of the rooms have such great tapestries as shown on the pictures. Since this was the reason for me to choose the hotel, I was slightly disappointed. Nevertheless, the stay was very pleasant, the staff helpful with good to excellent english skills. The rooms are not very spacious, but it's more than enough to get some good night sleep. You probably won't go to Paris to spend the whole stay in the hotel room, do you?

My stay was for 6 nights. As a female, safety was a main concern. I spent one night by myself before my brother arrived. I felt extremely safe in and arriving back to the hotel at night. The location is great. Close to lots of shops, restaurants and near a main street/Metro. The rooms are very clean and the staff was outstanding. They were very helpful with all aspects of our visit. This was my first trip to Paris and I spoke only a little French. The staff spoke English so communication was not an issue at all. The most important things to me were safety, clean rooms and a good price. I was extremely satisfied with my stay at the Hotel De Lausanne. I would highly recommend it and will be staying there during my next trip to Paris.

Clean rooms, staff friendly, rooms okay size. all staff very friendly except for the woman director in charge who was very rude to me on several occasions. breakfast not very good at all. Two guys at reception and rest of staff extremely helpful and very kind, which makes up for rudeness of the woman. walls are paper thin so I could hear my neighbours talking all night long on one side and my other "bear"neighbour snoring all night long....so not very good. it is a shame because the hotel is very well located and nice.

The front staff was not welcoming, our room did not smell very good, there was dirt on one of the beds comforter and it was freezing in the room. Really wonderful little hotel in a perfect location. Right in the middle of the theatre disrict, very hospitable front desk staff.
