The worst hotel I ever stayed at: - Staff unfriendly and pretty much ignorant - Noise from 11 - 17 due to renovation of building - Weird smell in the room - Bathroom very tiny and in poor condition - Ants and silver fishes found in bed I think that says it all

The hotel is in a noisy and in a busy road. The reception area is very poor and the staffs are not very competent. Customer service was very poor. The are prostitutes wandering around the hotel. These prostitutes were very friendly to the reception staff!!! I won't recommend this hotel for customers with kids. There is not parking within the hotel permises but luckly during the month of august the parking was free during the week end and that helped me a lot as during my tree days in Paris i used public transport and had to leave the car at the hotel street without paying. The price was good but the room was very narrow for 4 people. The shower and shower room are very very narrow. All in all i will rate the hotel: 5/10. Thanks.

The cost is way too high for a not very nice hotel. The room we were in originally was small and cramped, it was supposed to be a room for 4 people. The room was not cleaned, there were spiders under the covers. We asked for a different room and it seemed to inconvenience the staff. We were given a different room which was not better but at least there were no bugs. We stayed here before and it the experience was not half as bad as it was this time.

The rooms were cleaned, the bathroom was really small it made it impossible not to get water every where. There was construction going on during our stay, it affected the electricity in the room only 2x during our stay of 2 nights, both during the day time. There is a metro station, super market, cafe's, restaurants. Its about a 20 minute walk to Sacre Coure area. The area seemed safe enough, it was loud at night. This was our second stay in Paris, if we were not traveling with family, I would have stayed at a hostel.

First of all, you can`t expect heaven for money. Our mayor decision for this hotel is to visit our daughter, who study and lives in neibourhood. Othwerwise, I have more or less the same complaints as reviewers before me. It is more cheap hostel than serious hotel.

The Hotel was located near the end of a Metro line, so it was easy to get there. There was no air conditionig or ventilator, so it was very hot and we where afraid of opening the windows because de neigborhood was really bad. Very clean, and they also have smoking rooms, which was good for as.

The hotel is very near to underground station which easing us to reach central of paris with very affordable price and near mcdonald which is helpful when we got hungry. the staff speaks english and was helpful when i ask to print my e-ticket's plan. however, the room is quiet small even though that's not to much bothering us. the worse are that the window could not be closed so we can hear people from outside which make us hard to sleep at night. the wall of room also very thin and we could hear other people talking. the corridor also very small and there is no lift. so we had to carry our heavy luggage to the third floor by stairs. if u expect for cheap hotel, this hotel might be recommended, but if u're looking something more luxury, then this hotel absolutely not recommended.

This is probably the cheapest en-suite room that is available around Paris. It's literally 15 seconds walk from the Metro station downstairs. The complain that I had was the neighbours smoke at night and a lot of secondary smoke can be smelt from this room making it hard to sleep at night. I wish it was a non smoking hotel.

Everything in the hotel is tiny, rooms, staircases, tv, shower, even soap is the tiniest I've ever seen. Our window was facing another windows, and we spend one night listeninh to some couple fighting and then making-up activities. TV stared to work on the 3rd day only. Shower curtain was too short, so bathroom floor was always wet. Staff was nice enough, they let us leave out luggage in the reception on the day of check out. The only great advantage is that hotel is very close to metro station and in the walking distance to Monmartre.

While the rooms were in need of updating (new carpet, paint, etc) it was clean. the transportation info and the desk failed to mention that the metro does not run late at night so we had trouble getting to the hotel from the airport with the info provided. there are narrow stairs only so it was difficult to haul all of our luggage. despite the late hour we did find a small grocery store only a few doors down.

Buon viaggio!

Rooms were ok, toilet was super small. furniture , curtains and blankets were old. The room was not brightly lit. There were no lifts n we had to carry our heavy bags up to the room in a narrow staircase. However, it is very close to the metro so it is super convenient.Just right outside the hotel ! Around the hotel is lots of shops and deli and restaurant so it is very easy to go around.

Narrow, but very clean rooms. Narrow stage-cases, no elevator. Difficult with heavy or big luggage, but possibility to store suitcases in the supervised reception area (first floor). Friendly and helpfull stuff by daytime (French and Arab spoken, English poor). Excellent WIFI Internet access from room. Excellent access to subway (few minutes to Chatelet/Les Halles and Gare de l`Est as main connection points). Evaluating the relationship between costs and quality, we would choose it again for a shorter low budget stay in Paris.

Well, suppose for this price is that what you get. It was the worst hotel ever, dirty bed sheets, curtains, and stained carpet. Strong smell of cigarettes in the room. The bed cover looked like 20 years old, never washes with holes in in. And the area looks rough , I don't recommend this hotel!

The hotel was so nasty, the rooms much more smallers than the pictures, the surroundings so dangerous, the day I left the place a thief step into the room next door and stole a celullar phone, no comments about the staff who was never willing to help and barely speaks english or spanish. I will never recomend this place not even for my enemies. You should take it from your list.

The quality of the hotel is exactly what you can expect for the price you pay. It's clean, though if you look for luxury, don't go there. The standard is just a little bit above average youth hostal. Obviously, comparing to that, having your own room and bathroom for the same price is rather cool. Metro is just few metres from the entrance of the hotel, which is very convenient, you can get food in nearby shops till late. Beds are quite comfortable, or so it seems after whole day of running through Paris. Altogether, good place to stay if you're not too fussy about your room being whole in pink colour.

Of course it is not HILTON! If you are expecting breakfast on the bed and jakousi you should book everywhere else but not here...however if you want a cheap and clean accomodation you should think of it. It has its one toilet (in many hotels they dont!!). You have also to walk only...20 feet to get to the metro station!!!I think that the only thing that was annoying was the lack of elevator!!However you are in paris and you forget it! So, if you want a cheap room in the boundaries (not inside) of the romantic Monmartre then think of this Hotel!

The hotel was very dirty and has no lift. There are 5 floors and the staircase was narrow. The personnel was friendly. The Metro Station was in less than one minute walking, which is a great advantage for anyone who wants to reach the Paris center. Recommended for budget travelers who want only a bed and a bath to rest for the night.

I have stayed in this area of paris a few times before and this hotel is the same quality as any other hotel in the area, as myself and my husband would be out most of the time we were wanting something cheap,we got to the hotel just before 12 and we got into out room straight away. the hotel does expect you to pay for the room upfront, which isnt uncommon, i explained to guy at the reception i didnt have money in the bank until the next day and he was fine with me paying then. i didnt feel unsafe in the area (there was some people about at night) but they didnt bother us, it is just as safe as staying in any other city. the metro is right outside the hotel and is the end of the line so when you get on you are always guarenteed a seat, as they can get a bit crowded after a few stops. i did read all the reviews on this site before i booked the hotel but i did notice that it was all americans that were complaining and most people from the uk said it was ok, IT IS ONLY SOME WHERE CHEAP TO PUT YOUR HEAD FOR A FEW NIGHTS. the room itself was on the small side, the bathroom was very small but it wasnt too bad. the bed is comfortable. there is 5 floors in this hotel and we were staying up at the top but we didnt complain to the staff about as we were out most of the time. when the windows are closed you cannot hear any outside noise but when the windows are open you can hear alot of traffic but it is a city. to stay there for a few nights at the price we paid i would go back again.

This is a very good budget hotel and close to metro station. Although rooms and toilets were small but very clean. Guests are allowed to use Fridge, Micro and kitchen facility. This priveledge you will not get in any other hotel. Omar, Mohamed and Karim were very good and helpful. Communicating in English was not a problem as staff was having good working knowledge of English. I enjoyed very much my stay in De la Terrasse.

This hotel was the worst we have ever been. The room was very dirty. the first day we had only 1 towel, in a double room, so we requested a second which we received. in the night we recognized that we only had 1 bed sheet so we requested a second one the next day. the man at the reception gave us a new one, but was not very friendly. the third day the cleaning lady put away one of our 2 used towels but did not give us new ones. our window had the direction to the backyard and we welcomed a lot of doves, their nests and their excrements - very unhealthy, pls see our picture!!! the corridor smelled like urine - very nasty. we did not have a closet, only a clothes rail. the safe was out of order. the bathromm was very small, the shower curtain did not arrive the floor therefore the complete bathroom was flooded with water after taking s shower. no power outlet in the bathroom and only one power outlet in the room, for 2 people! so we were happy to leave after 4 days. we really cannot recommend this hotel - pls never book this accomodation, it's unacceptable!

The hotel is a good idea for people who want to visit Paris for all the day. Price is low and the room was sufficiently clear. The hotel is located in a zone full of Indian, African and Asian people so it was interesting to walk in this area. The metro is 20 m. from the hotel. Notice it is not a good idea for woman only...

During our arrival, the owner and all reception desk personal were impolite and incompetent. In Venera.com it is noted that rooms are available from 12am. However, when I have asked the rooms at 12.20, the reception desk answered that it is not possible because they offer rooms only from 1pm, started to shout that they did not write that rooms are available from 12am. I found that at Venere.com and when I showed it, no excuse was offered and the key was thrown on the table. The same person next two days even did not say hello. I hope they will improve the service quality.

It was lovely. In fact room was not as spacious as it looked on the pics, bathroom was too tiny, no closet in the room, and local area was a bit like ghetto, but it was totally worth its price. Staff was very friendly and helpful, towels all clean, front desk was a very kind guy, as well as the manager. The room was not perfect but because of excellent service we enjoyed our stay. The place is good for group of friends but it's not for families or high maintenance people.

The hotel is kind of run down and situated in the ghetto (last metro stop in the north of Paris) BUT it's not bad. You get what you pay for and if you're looking for somewhere cheap to rest your head in Paris this place is absolutely fine. Sheets and towels were changed daily (Don't be afraid to ask for them if they're not there). The staff were very nice and let us keep our bags in reception during our last day so we could wander Paris some more before our flight. We did not use the kitchen facilities so I can only comment on the fact that they exist. Bathrooms were compact but appreciated ensuite facilities for this price. There is a grocery store down the street but also loads of bar/brasseries where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Found there weren't too many english speaking people in the area but got by on the french we knew and everyone we met was lovely and generally helpful. The Metro stop is right next to the hotel (which is above the Au Bouquet Brasserie and near the McDonald's for landmarks). I would suggest going to Paris armed with a Metro Map and to use the Metros as you can get EVERYWHERE so easily with them. The hotel is open 24 hours so you can stay in bed as long as you want and come in as late as you want. You must make your payment at the start of your stay (unlike stated on the Venere website) by cash or most major cards. For the price, would be willing to stay there again.

This was the first time at this Hotel. Price and quality related perfectly. Very small triple room, but we managed and expected this. Very nice staff. We only thought there was breakfast included, not clear at the website, and breakfast was not included, as we found out. No possibilities for coffee, didn't matter because there is a very nice place at the ground floor. I would absolutely go again to this hotel. Metro is just in front of it. If you just need a good bed and a shower and low costs, it's perfect! Nice staff to children as well.

Hi Everybody! The Hotel is what I looked for. There are many rooms in a very little space. There are 4 levels, but there are no lifts..There is a little hall in which is possibile to use the internet and doing some chat. The room uses an advanced sistem of cards instead of heavy keys. The rooms are very small, but very confortable. They are warm and have all that you need, a bed, a table, tv, and a complete bathroom, three lights and three windows. The wardrobe is very small. The hotel faces a big square. There are many lights and life, and very near many shops and the beautiful Montmartre (the place of artists and Mouline Rouge) zone. And just under the Hotel, you have the famouse Marche Aux Puces of Sanint Ouen and the Undergroung stop "Port de Clignancourt" and many many busus for every part of Paris.I tell you this: The Hotel is very simple but has everything you need, internet, a warm room, a soft bed and a complete bathroom. If you are going to visit Paris for little this is a very nice place. In addition you have Montmartre, underground, buses and Marche aux puces!

The hotel has a metro station on its corner and make it very acessible to go downtown. It is far downtown but at least you can take the metro. The bathroom of my room was fairly clean but the sheets on my bed, I dont believe they changed it. The room was very tiny but for 42 euros it was ok. There is a market in front of the hotel and you can buy food and save money. I had a problem with the shuttle that was taking me to the airport and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They called me a cab and waited with me till the cab arrived since it was very early in the morning and dark. There is no lift. I stayed on the 5th floor and had to take my bags all the way up on the narrow stairs...quite tiresome. There are computers you can use, paying by hour and also a public kitchen where you can heat things on the microwave. Lots of people would buy some frozen food at the market and heat there. Also in front of the hotel there is a mc donalds and some restaurants, fairly cheap. Everything went fine during my stay and I wouldn't stay there again because it is far from downtown.

Ok, Hotels in Paris are different, don´t expect to much! The room is small, the bed is small, the bathroom is the smallest. But it is clean and the area is ok, but have an eye on your bag!! Fast food restaurants and bars are nearby, Metrostation in front of the door. But in the night it is too loud in the hotel, you can hear every activity of other guests. The satelite TV has one english (BBC) Program and 2 german Programs ( vox, zdf). But who watched TV in Paris? The breakfast for 5 € is absolut fair, in a bar you pay for the same breakfast 7,50€ - 8,50€.

Saludos!

Rundown flophouse in a downright scary neighborhood. Tiny extremely uncomfortable rooms, paper thin walls, bedsheets that felt like rough paper. Worst place I have ever stayed, bar none. Nice place to stay, if you want to spend a few days in Paris real cheap... Not for the pretencious type... not for people that want nice service and food... Main point - you have a clean bed and hot water, as well as roof above your head.... Also, maybe you'd like to train a bit before you get a room at the top floors... it's a bit hard on the stairs ;) Price - quality relationship is very good

A very basic and simple hotel, but hey, it's Paris, and it's almost a miracle to find a room for 50 Euros in that city! The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and we only needed the room for sleeping. We rather spent our money on doing Paris than on a luxurious hotel room... The location is great, right next to the metro and near the Montmarte district. We maybe wouldn't stay there if we spent a whole week in Paris, but for a weekend it's really okay!

There are other hotels just a few blocks away with a price very close with way better ammenities. I would not stay in this hotel again. The surrounding areas are not very safe at night.

No, There were no lifts! I had to carry my suitcase to the 5th floor. I was harassed and threatened at the McDonalds accross the street. The place is very unsafe and it is located in the ghetto. Thank god I arrived late and checked out early morning the next day. The staff though were very helpful and friendly. If not for my late arrival, I would have moved to a different hotel.

We stayed at de la Terrasse for 1 night after a long vacation - chosen for ease of travel to airport the next morning. The hotel was dreary and small (not to mention up several flights of narrow, winding stairs). We arrived very late at night so perhaps it would have looked better in the daylight, but I was not impressed. The surrounding neighborhood isn't great, in fact we were warned to "be careful" by our taxi driver. However the nightly rate was cheap, so this is likely a case of "you get what you pay for," which we knew going in. All things considered, just passable for budget travellers, but not highly recommended in general.

Ambiance : auberge/dortoire.

I stayed in Paris for 4 days and I am content to have chosen Hotel de la Terrasse. It is situated in a multicultural area and the metro station is very close. Very clean and very friendly reception. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that my room was on the fifth floor and there is no elevator. But the friendly man in the reception helped me with my suitcase. I would chose Hotel de la Terrasse for another stay in Paris.

You won't find any hotel like that in Paris for that price. I had to change my reservation the night before and they did it without charging my credit card. It is not in the downtown but it is just at a few steps from the metro station. Very Helpful Staff. The surroundings are not the most beautiful place in Paris but it is not bad and we didn't have any problem with ayone even arriving at the hotel at midnight. It is good value for your money. You want something bigger or fancy...pay for that!

The room we stayed in was very small - just big enough for a queen size bed. The bathroom was tiny also - about 2 x 5 feet. The location of the hotel was excellent - right across the street from Pont de Clignancourt and a quick metro ride or about 3 miles away from most of the attractions. IMPORTANT: The hotel is located on the 2nd floor of the building (over a restaurant), and there are no elevators and the hotel has a spiral staircase, so traveling with large luggage is a definate hassle if staying here.

Cheap and cheerful, central Paris on a budget, a great deal, would book there again. The area is poor but I have stayed there before and never had an trouble. For price and location excellent value for money.

Yes, it's true that the hotel is literally 5 steps from the metro, which is nice. however, it is in a horrible location and you basically have to spend 45 minutes riding the metro if you want to go anywhere, i mean, come on! it is the END OF THE LINE. we spent most of our time riding the metro, especially a pain if you want to go out at night and don't want to spend money on a taxi (which i'm guessing you don't if you booked this hotel in the first place). the metro closes at 12:30am, so be prepared. also, unless you are travelling with a man, i would recommend not hanging out in the neighborhood at night. the room itself was very pink. the bedspread was pretty dirty and i'm pretty sure the extra pillows had the same pillow cases from the previous occupants of the room. the man at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful, but that could be because i'm a girl or because i can speak french. or both.

Small, cosy rooms. Very basic but most importantly spotlessly clean, lots of hot water! Very welcoming, competent staff who helped with any problems. A great location for the metro, but be careful if walking alone at night! We enjoyed our stay!

This hotel is located in a beautiful building at the Place de Clignancourt metro stop. The Metro is literally five steps away from the hotel door. It is very near the Marché des Puces (2 streets away), and the area is nice during the day. If you're looking for a place to stay that's very corporate and uniform, this is not the area. It's quite safe, however, and the food in the area is quite cheap in comparison to just about every other area in Paris. Don't try to sneak in more people than the room fits, as you'll get caught. The staff is very helpful, the rooms were clean (and pinkish/red). It's no Hilton, Americans, so don't expect it. The WC is small but serves its purpose. Ah, and if you want breakfast, it's better to tell the staff the nite before. Breakfast is not free, but there's an excellent Boulangerie very near. I'd definitely stay here again. Also, it seems to be quite gay friendly, though don't expect any rainbow flags to be hanging in the lobby.

For the price this hotel was very good value. it was noisy but then this is a busy part of Paris. Very good tube connection to all areas. Very welcoming staff and good local facilities e.g. eating out, supermarket etc. The five flights of stairs were hard work especially when carrying luggage as space on the stairs was somewhat restricted. For a cheap stay in Paris I would recommend it.

The room was very warm during the period of my stay. A fan is a must during the summer months. Hope they will provide one in the future. There is no lift. The TV offere only 5 or 6 channels and I think more channels can be provided.

Dirty, dingy, not nice at all. It was simply a one-night stay, and I'll never go back. The bathroom was dirty, even the wrapped up soap on the sink was caked in dirt and looked as if it had been stepped on. There is no elevator, and my room was on the 4th floor. A small spiral staircase was the only means to get there, and could not accommodate a normal-sized suitcase. But despite all of this, the staff was nice and helpful. They just need to work somewhere better.
