Excellent location, very helpful staff, especially if you travel as a single woman is safe. Tourist offices around the corner, opposite to the hotel are excellent shopping stores. Will stay there again. Always missed the breakfast, but there are good cafes around the corner.

The only good thing about this hotel is its location - very close to Louvre and Place Vendome. The walls are so thin that you can hear every step outside your room. No facilities in the room - even the hair dryer and hangers were absent.

I can compare thi hotel with Toni du Louvre - located not so far from thi hotel. The most unpleausnt things: reception knew about our early check-out (7.30 - exactly the time when breakfast starts), but did not offered to us any breakfast - at least coffe and croissans (they offered only juice). It would be nice to have at leat something, or at least info coming from the reception team about such things. Another thing is cleaness: hairs in the bathroom (from prev.customer I guess) and very dirty shower cirtains... it is not good at all. Other things are according to the combination location and prices. All other things we are satisfied very much. Thank you,

Excellent for leisure travels; less for business travels. By the way, a typical old parisien hotel, that may be fascinating. Tiny lift; specify that you do not accept a room at the 5th floor if you are unable to step up a narrow stair with your baggages. Excellent position

With the current dollar/Euro exchange rate, it was quite a challenge to find a charming boutique hotel at a reasonable price. We found it in Hotel De la Tamise! We were there for 8 nights in March/April with our teenage son and truly enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for old world Paris in a prime location for a reasonable price, this is your hotel. If you are looking for luxury (American beds, big fluffy towels and comforters), this is not your place. In Paris, that kind of luxury requires a great deal more money, especially in this prime neighborhood. This is a hotel with a European sensibility, which we adore. The location if GREAT. You are literally steps from the Tuilleries, The Lourve, Angelina's, the Metro, a taxi stand, a major bus tour office and the best chocolate shop we found in all of Paris--Michel Cluizel (be sure to indulge, you won't be sorry!) With the metro, you are only a few stops from ANY major attraction. On lovely days you can even walk to many attractions---which we did. The "petite dejeuner" (continental breakfast) is European style. The breakfast room is charming! The entrance to the hotel has lovely floor tiles and antique furniture. It was always nice to come back to the hotel. Madam Anita who owns the hotel has an elegance that is slowly disappearing in Europe. (Think Chanel!) We had a triple room and it was ample---a rarity in Paris. It had a large closet and a handy coat rack. If you keep your front street windows shut (leave the bathroom windows in the back open) it is very quiet. We were able to sleep in when we wanted. The furniture in the room (including antiques) are worn, but in a comfortable sort of way. The wall paper is beautiful. In sum, this is a gem of a hotel in for a reasonable price in a pricey neighborhood. We would stay there again, definitely.

J made the reservation in hotel de la Tamise to have view on Tuielieres gardens and j explained this in my reservation. When j arrived a man at the reception told me they don't have such a kind of rooms but they were described in the hotel in upper floor. Then a woman like a witch well dressed told me then if j wanted a view j had to go in other hotels colose and pay 400 euros for night!!!!j payd 130 euros for night in single room:10 euros less then a double room. So j thought j could ask the better. The curtain of batrhroom were black down, ideally for every kind of ills! When j left the hotel it was raining, very cold, lunch time, all cofee bars full. So j took a sandwiche and j went in hotel to eat it and take my bag.J did sit down in the small reception to eat, the blond middle age witch told me it was not the place werw to eat since Paris was full of restaurant and cofee bar. Unbelievable!!! In one hour j had the train for airport j could not wait in a restaurant. After a week of strike luckyly that day louvre and d'orsay museum opened, so j went to see something in them both. No time then for restaurant. Never in all my life j have been treated in such a way and j travel in different places several times for year. So j have some experience of hotel nor in third world j got the bad treatment like in hotel de la Tamise in Paris. Breakfast is poor and every day the same. Rooms are without frigo bar and hair drier. My suggest is to make a reservation in hotel de la Tamise only if all the other hotels of Paris are full and Good Luck! Esperienza terribile all'hotel de la Tamise.

Very nice, very quiet, very pleasant environment of a small hotel with character. It has style and makes you feel comfortable. Excellent location in the very centre, close to the Metro station and still not noisy, having the Tuilleries Garden on the other side of the Rivoli Road. Excellent free wireless Internet connection in the rooms - important if you have a laptop with you! Weak points (to be improved): no fridge or air condition, only a ventilator in the room. No window protection against mosquitoes - one bothered me one night.

An absolutely Parisian hotel, small and comfortable, I would say the best for the fare charged, excellent location, clean rooms, large bathroom, professional personnel, one of the best locations in town; if you love Paris, you will love De la Tamise -if you check in with preconceived ideas that this is Hotel Meurice, you will not like it- but again the price you pay is very very low. I will return soon.

The lounge in the photo is roped off. The decoration over all is old fashioned and tired. The elevator is tiny and only has enough room for one person with a small bag. The bedrooms are small and basic. The TV is only tuned to a a few French channels with no international news channel etc. It is impossible to take a shower in the morning as the water tank is to small and all I got was freezing cold water. The shower had the wrong head to it and sent water every where. Breakfast is small and over priced.

I loved staying here. The hotel is charming and it is excellently located for getting around and enjoying Paris. The staff were very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to help. The room did not have any frills but suited me well. This was my first time in Paris and 5 days is not nearly enough! If I were lucky enough to come to Paris again I would certainly stay here and I would recommend it to my friends.

La Tamise is very well located, very close to the Rue de Rivoli and the tube station Tuileries. The staff are friendly and discrete. The twin room we had was on the street side but it was very quiet. A small breakfast is included in the price. Overall therefore, not a bad choice for the area! PS There's a typical Parisan lift, which accommodates two.

No recomendable.

Great location but that is about the only good thing. The sheets were old and poor quality, not to mention the stained pillows, as were the small towels. Breakfast was miserable. The smallest croissant ever and at times a day old roll. The picture of the sitting room is accurate but one cannot use the room so the only common space available is a couple of chairs next to the front desk. Couldn't provide a safety pin or change a bill. I've been many times to Paris and I'm aware of French "frugality" but I had never encountered it to such degree!

I have chosen a hotel based on photos from website. Well, a room was completely different, much smaller (I can say it was tiny!), not very comfortable. I would not go back there and definitely would not recommend it. Although I have to admit that Louvre was very close, I guess 150 euro per night for such a room is too much. The most I would pay for such a room is 85-90 euro. Honestly, there were almost the same hotels in the same area and twice cheaper!

An old building is an old building... However, rooms were very clean, the bathroom was clean, spacious and hot water was always available. The building is quite old and thus the sound isolation is not very good. We were upgraded to a larger room upon arrival at no extra cost. The elevator must be one of the smallest elevators in the world, but it worked perfectly. This is one of the reasons why this hotel is NOT suitable for disabled people. Staff was friendly and location, well... location is PERFECT: just across the street from the Tuileries Garden! Breakfast is barely enough. The hotel is well served by public transportation and you are within short walking distance of many major landmarks in Paris. Staying here in the summer may be complicated because it has no air conditioning and the surroundings may be a bit noisy with open windows (after all, it is the downtown Paris).

After I booked my room I read previous reviews and was somewhat upset by bad reviews; on the contrary I was surprised by the pleasant and cozy atmosphere (old Paris style). Of course rooms are not big (but big enough with a large single bed), nor are public spaces, but you can't expect it in the middle of Paris. The location is great, close to the subway and to all main sights. Breakfast is French style, but we are in France; and the price is quite reasonable. I would go back if I had to stay in Paris.

The staff were helpful and friendly, despite a little bit of a language barrier(our fault, though). It was nice to have a friendly, familar base to return to everyday - particularly in such a big, busy city. The location was truly fantastic - which made the rate almost worth while alone. We stayed at Hotel de la Tamise around NYE. We found the rooms to be comfortable, but cosy. Given you are in the middle of Paris and space is at a premium, the rooms are totally okay. They were clean and the beds were comfortable. There is no internet available at the hotel and internet halls can be a little elusive in the 1st Err. However, like I said the location is fantastic, the staff are friendly and the room is sufficient (re: comfort, noise, warmth etc). The minature lift is also an experience! Definitely worth checking this one out. 4/5.

The hotel is ideally located and being in the 1st arrondissement its a tourist's delight. All the main tourist locations are at walking distance i.e. Louvre, place vendome, Jardin des tuileries, Les Halles, Comedie Francaise etc..the station and shopping areas too are close by. Within it has the decor of bygone era with modern facilities.

As any other place in Paris, it is well served by subway. It is very near the Louvre Museum but surroundings are not so exciting. Terrible noise in the room due to the old-fashion lift. First- excellent location and neighbourhood. The room was very small but quiet. Everything is in the spirit of the 19th century but I like it! It’s good that breakfast is included (many places charge), but petit déj is really 'petit'. The best thing is that the staff is friendly and helpful for anything. The style is old, which is ok, but there’s only a bath + shower attachment, no shower hook. Our twin room was quite big and looking out, we could see the Tuileries. All was clean and comfortable; but need to sort the tiny coffin lift!

The good things were the absolutely fantastic location, the cleanliness of the hotel and probably the breakfast. The bad things were the tiny room we got on the last (5th) floor of the hotel, especially considering that the elevator goes to the 4th floor only, and the 5th floor room has slanted ceilings which makes it even smaller, the fact that we got charged an extra 60 Euro for a four night stay for two due to some city tax we did not hear of before. Good thing we decided to pay a day early to make sure we had enough money. Other than that, though not cheap for a three-star hotel, the location really made up for it. An advice - request rooms on the 2nd-4th floors.

Small and quiet , nice and clean , decorated in a very french style hotel..its very well located ,at the heart of central paris ..the staff was great , very polite and helpful, providing useful information about sightseeings and the way to get there .. but!! the hotel's greatest privilege is the surrounding area..no need to use the metro ( by the way , tuilerie metro station in less than 100 metres..) u just walk a bit and louvre , tuilerie , orsay , palais royal , concord , champs elysees etc are just in front of u ...its an ideal place to stay if u are a traveler who wants to discover paris greatest sightseeings rather than having a luxurious stay in one of the main and expensive hotels..and for those concerned about the price..ok u dont pay for the outstanding facility but for its great location , the quality of the staff and the style of this place.. :)

I was pleasantly surprised since I expected much worse. The hotel is centrally located close to the museums. The area was very busy in the morning but quite dead at night. The staff was very friendly. The room was rather large considering the fact that the hotels in Paris are notorious for having small rooms. The elevator was small but we did not have large luggage so it was fine for us. The included breakfast was pretty basic. Overall not bad.

Great hotel, superb location. There's a small elevator (great for handling luggage!) and a good continental breakfast is included. Staff was super friendly. Rooms are very spacious and clean, bathrooms are old but in decent shape. Very clean and nice rooms. However!!! the owner is just plain rude and unwelcoming. as if whe is doing the public a favour for allowing them to stay in her hotel.to top all rudeness she managed to overcharge us for breakfast - for an extra milk we requested (coffee was complementary, and we requested black coffee and milk on the side). Nice hotel, small, simple, great location. I did have a room right beside the elderly, old-fashioned gate and level elevator though, and the hotel closes its doors after midnight, meaning people buzzed to get in before then ascending in the elderly, old-fashioned gate and level elevator. Noisy. BUT - it's a nice, clean hotel with friendly staff in a very very good location and the price is superb. All Parisian hotels have small rooms so that didn't bother me, but it is a factor if you like your space. You are within a stone's throw of the Louvre and the metro stop is very nearby. I didn't eat in the hotel so I can't judge the breakfast, but really, with the metro where it is, you have no excuse for staying there for breakfast, you can be up and out to your destination in minutes, where you can then eat as you please. If you're not used to the style of small Parisian hotels, you might be shocked, but this is not my first trip and this is a nice little spot. Maybe not so great for families or couples seeking luxurious romance. For 90 euro a night in that location though, and it's clean, I wouldn't turn my nose up at it.
