Hotel de la Porte Dorée - Paris

Not quiet ..... Noise by cleaning. Wemen. Every morning

Nice hotel, but the main problem is that the subway line is just downstairs ! So the rooms are very noisy, even at the first floor. The walls are almost shaking every two minutes !

A most charming hotel and we most definitely will stay there again. Alas we spent only 2 nights but were able to find out quite quickly how to navigate into the center of Paris. The underground being at our doorstep was a plus!! The noise of the trains as mentioned in other reviews put us to sleep and was never an issue! Highly recommend this very clean and more than basic hotel.

Stayed here while attending the tennis tournament at the POPB, which was just a few Metro stops away (and a decent albeit roundabout walk when the Metro was too crowded). Excellent wifi (I did some telecommuting while here), and the staff handled my multiple reservations beautifully. The in-room guide to Paris was a fun read, and the stair landings are stocked with books in multiple languages. Highly recommended.

Just few steps next to Metro, very convenient. Nice and classic room but a bit small. The toilet isnt good enough, no hangs, no shower curtin. There is a very nice park few minutes walk away from the hotel, a good place to do some jogging or walking! Staffs are generally friendly but couldnt find them at the front desk sometimes...

The rooms are pretty much what you would expect for Paris - the bed and just about room to walk around them. However, very clean, well equipped and loads of hot water. Good for an overnight stop en route to somewhere else. Good location generally with plenty of restos around. The boulangerie/viennoiserie across the road is famous throughout Paris and rightly deserves the reputation - go there if only to get breakfast next day! (Don't bother with the hotel offering. It is not worth the money).

This is exactly what I was looking for when I booked. It is a great value, vintage Paris charm and very clean. Staff were also quite charming and welcoming. My room was small, but it was all that I needed. Bed was very comfortable with nice linen. My room was perhaps a bit noisy due to being immediately next to elevator. The hotel was only a few paces from Metro, so very convenient. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to travelers looking for charm, cleanliness and a lovely staff.

The hotel is a lovely place to stay. It's not too far from the centre of Paris, straight on the metro which is on the doorstep! The hotel itself is very clean, very French & the staff are great. The area is lovely too with a really lovely lake nearby to walk around. The only negative thing is that we only had a hot shower once out of 4 nights. Overall wonderful stay in romantic Paris.

A nice hotel conveniently located near a metro. The day receptionist was wonderful. She spoke perfect English, was always ready with a pleasant greeting accompanied with a smile and full of current information. The night staff speak little English and are not welcoming and leave a bad impression until the lovely receptionist arrives in the morning. Unfortunately she is getting married and won't be working there any longer. The hotel's great loss.

We found the staff to be very helpful and polite. We liked the room, but the shower was a little small... nothing unacceptable however. The location is a bit far from any of the main tourist sites, but my wife and I love to figure out the local subway when traveling, so we liked it. Anyone who is looking to be close to the tourist sites will need to choose a different hotel. All in all, we liked the Hotel.

Rooms small but clean and very well equipped; after a disease in our room nr. 8(water falling from the ceiling), the staff immediately gave us room nr.41, better in space and ambience. Hotel cosy with many facilities. Metro at few steps. We enjoyed our holiday; probably we'll return. Very recommended.

Hotel De la Portee Doree is good for couple. Very homely feeling. However the lift is very very small.There are numerous of eatery around, florist & a laundry shop nearby. Very convenience location.

As others say, perfect hotel for sleeping while you visit Paris. Really on top of the metro station, noisy but didn't bother when already asleep. My room had the toilet in a little space separed from lavatory and shower, but i think it's a pro in the end. Didn't try the breakfast. They stored our luggage on the first and last day, very kind. Free wi-fi works well. Good value for money.

Cute little hotel. Adequate price and service for Paris.
